Great Wakering Royal British Legion in Rochford

Been here a few times with family and always had a good time but after my recent visit I won't be going back. Never have I experienced such a rude and unprofessional staff member. I ordered my second drink from Nicky (red hair) having been served by James earlier, who is always very friendly, when it was time to pay I had my card ready to which Nicky huffed and I reactively apologised, although in hindsight I'm annoyed that I did, as if my choice of payment was somehow an inconvenience. Having then made payment, I politely asked for a straw to which Nicky huffed again and slammed the pot of straws in front of me on the bar. Honestly have never been so insulted by a hospitality staff member in my life, absolutely disgusting behaviour towards customers.

Great Sunday roast (£12 for 2 corses) other meals at very reasonable price and of corse bar prices cheaper than pubs.

Food is fantastic and the club is very clean. Bar staff work hard and are very friendly . Food available Sunday Lunch time Saturday evenings And Friday Lunch time Live music on most Saturday evenings.

A one off key payment £5.00 Memberships is open to all .no need to be a member of the army . You can take out new Memberships at the club bar . Very friendly club and run extremely well .

Lovely welcoming atmosphere. All the members were really friendly and Bar staff have memories like elephants, for remembering the drink orders.

Although it was a sad occasion, it's a relaxing place with all modern facilities, bar & snacks available, live music too at the weekends

We wanted some up to date poppies so as we were in Wakering decided to pop into the Legion the staff were very helpful and we were able to get what we needed and make our donations to the very good cause

This Royal British Legion Club Members only but all welcome to join anytime, has a Friday through Sunday food outlet. Lunches evening meal Sunday roast, delightful. We were well looked after with good service good food and a pleasant atmosphere. Because the Royal British Legion Clubs are associated with the Legion and the annual poppy appeal membership is a requirement, don't let that deter you, a great social life, nice people and a beautifully kept bar and comfortable surroundings.Great beers, and Karen's Kitchen at weekends what more could you ask.

Always have a good game of whist when I can get down there. Lots of friendly faces and a good pint cheap.

I used to go here every weekend but with the old bands / groups reappearing time after time on what appears to be a rota system it got as dull as dishwater. This club used to be buzzing on the weekends but now it's going downhill rapidly. The food is very hit and miss too depending on who is doing the cooking. What once used to be the centre of the community is now dying rapidly.

Always friendly, and value for money. Members only but well worth the joining fee and all members applications are looked at independantly
