Grazing Cow at Lawley in Telford and Wrekin

There is a huge influx recently of glowing five star reviews. Nine of them in one day a few weeks ago. All the reviews are very generic, many come from reviewers who have only left 1 or 2 reviews and all keep naming the server Christina. This all looks very suspicious to me...probably fake reviews.

Friendly and helpful staff, food was lovely, and a generally great atmosphere. I love this pub!

This is our local pub / restaurant. We have been here several times because we want it to be very good and we want to tell everyone to go there and really promote our local. Sadly it's just not that place. Never been here and really enjoyed the food. It's just bang average and had experienced problems most of the times when visiting. The staff have always been pleasant enough but for the price it just isn't worth the product you are receiving. I think it has so much potential, great location but it really feels souless. Hate even writing this but I will not be in a rush to go back, they are lucky that they are the only pub in the village and the Grazing cow is really failing to capitalise on that.

Don't think will be going back . Should have known what it was like was ignored when we went in stood by waiting to be shown in gather it was the manager that walked past a few times no apologies for having to wait. Even the light bite food overpriced and not the best quality.

Christina made us feel very welcome and made for a very enjoyable visit. She is very much a credit to the team

Had a lunch meal with a friend and the main meal was tasty but the gravy was very watery, we both finished with a crumble which was uncooked on the top, and containing stones in the cherries. The young lady behind the bar had a very sarcastic tone to her voice when we asked about the menu. Not a very welcoming pub and we certainly will not be returning or recommending.

I booked a table online for 14.15. We attended on time and were shown to our table and given menus. A waitress came fairly promptly to take our drinks order and then returned with drinks and took our food order. The food came fairly speedily and was excellent. My granddaughter also enjoyed a dessert. I was defeated after a massove portion of roast dinner. I went to the bar to settle the bill as my dining companions ahd to set off on a long drive home. I did have an email advertising a discount (though that was not the reason for bookinmg on that date), but the discount was appliued without me requesting it. I do dine at the Grazing Cow from time to time and have never hada bad experience there. I will return.

Online booking was easy and worked well. Warm greeting at the door. Lovely atmosphere. Seated quickly. Drinks offered and delivered promptly. Our meal orders took a little long, but not a major issue. Servers were polite and helpful with my garlic allergy. Food was hot and tasty. Overall a good visit with the staff being very friendly and welcoming.

Nice quality food but the drinks are very expensive. Over £6 for a pint!

On the occasion of brother-in-law's birthday - 4 in party. The venue is local to us so has always been a popular choice with us and complimented by the high quality of the food and the service by the young staff.

We didn’t like the table that we had been sat on as it was a larger round table and we only had 4 people so felt it was a bit too big for us, we asked Christine if we could move to another table and she did this with ease! Went to the Grazing cow in Lawley, chose steak and chips all I got was a burned offering from the night before! “Steak night”. The “steak” I was served resembled a burned offering! and was considerably smaller than the giant tomato & mushroom in comparison to the “steak” on the plate. Wouldn’t recommend don’t go in on a Friday afternoon! less than 24hours after steak night on the Thursday before! Grazing Cow more like “Grazing ..T”

£4.15 for a flat lemonade and lime, £4 for a Pepsi. 6.99 for 3 of the smallest chicken fillies I have ever seen. Cheesy garlic bread which was a ciabatta with the slightest amount of grated cheese on. We had 30% off mains but they put the prices up anyway and the drinks are expensive.

Can't fault the service but the food and drink is over priced. I don't recommend the food is very poor quality for how expensive it is. It's a shame because once apon a time it was a good place to eat wouldn't recommend the grazing cow to anybody.

Shows on website I can reserve the bar area for a party of 24 people but when ringing up to confirm they say they can’t do it. Told on the phone it would let me book but a manager would call me to cancel it later on. Simple solution update your systems!

What a lovely, friendly place to enjoy some really nice food. We all had different meals and commented on how fresh and tasty the food was. We were looked after by Jess who was very helpful, friendly and attentive. She communicated with us all including my little boy and recommended the most amazing dessert (caramel tart). We had a lovely time with great food and exceptional staff. Thank you Jess. We will definitely be returning very soon.

We came here for a random date night, they advised they were short staffed but this didn't stop them serving us quickly and the food was lovely, we really enjoyed it and said we will come back here again, keep up the good work :)

Local pub which is walking distance from our home. They gave quiz night every Thursday which is great fun. The staff are super friendly and always greet you with a smile especially Aiden, Reagan & Lucia. Halloumi Kebab is amazing! Pork belly is very tasty according to my husband!

Do not go on quiz night unless you are comfortable with foul language from the quiz master. Not a lot but unnecessary particularly as there were younger members of the public present. Nice pub grub though the beer was expensive

Probably one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. I understand that if I have a dog then I should be defined to the bar area. However ordering here was an absolute nightmare. When going up to order my mains the only reason I was served was that it was indicated to the staff that I was in fact next. The second time I went up to order my deserts despite the fact that staff had it pointed out that I was in fact next in line to be served, the staff took an order off someone who entered the restaurant over 10 minutes after I had been waiting to order. I spent more time standing up waiting to be served than actually eating. To the point I ended up not ordering desert not finishing my drink I’d ordered from with my main and just leaving. All in all, probably the worst dining experience I’ve had.

Was in a rush so didn't have time to send food back but the burger was so overcooked, it was like eating charcoal. I understand the cooks need to ensure food is fully cooked, but it really was poor.

Food was nice,chips were undercooked and my steak was not cooked how I requested it but other then that it was nice. Friendly and helpful waiting staff,I feel the prices are a bit high for what you get.

Visited The Grazing cow around 12pm today, we were warmly greated and sat on a table fitting of 4 people for the 2 of us, in an area of the restaurant that had 2 other tables in use, we were asked of any allergies and i noted lactose in liquid form and that anything else we would avoid on the menu. It was very quiet with some music playing in the background. The decor was quite fitting of the premises and very clean. We ordered drinks and food within 15 mins of being seated. Order was Sirloin steak with Sweet potato fries, salt and pepper calamari, signature burger with NO BUN (as daughter has an intolerance to bread/brioche), hallumi fries and 2 medium Pepsi. Took around 15 mins for our food to come out of the kitchen. All cutlery was clean, plates and glasses clean. Food was presented well in portion size and style, however the calamari was squidgy (should be crisp batter), burger was served in the bun (aparantely the chef didn't read the ticket fully), hallumi fries were covered in a thick layer of red chilli's (advertised as chilli jam, good job I wasn't eating it as I'm allergic to chilli seeds but am okay with jam), the sirloin was rare and therefore tough and the pea shoots (that came on everything) were wilted beyond saving. At no point did anyone pop over to ask us if everything was satisfactory, if they had I feel I would have made a complaint about the general preparation of our food. They were also very quick to clear the table and come over for payment, at no point were we asked how our meal was. Now, I regularly review restaurants and tourist locations so I have to add, the place was spotless!!! The toilets were well equipped and clean and at no point did we feel unwelcome or too much trouble, we did send the burger back to be redone but the chef merely took the bun off and put the filling back on the plate without any thought to the additional sauce and cammembair cheese that had been removed with the bun. Taste wise the burger was delicious, sweet potato fries and normal fries were crisp and perfect. The calamari ended up half eaten as it was just too 'soggy' and the side of coleslaw had no flavour at all. I feel the restaurant was very quiet and more attention needs to be considered by the chef, as they were not rushing around. I will say everything was hot, which is great. I've included some photos of the place and the itemised bill at £60.56 (overpriced for the quality of food served). We will revisit another day as I would like to see how well they incorporate a young child into the mix as they have a lovely safe, enclosed play area outside and seating. Not the place to go for anything healthy. Pretty basic poor quality food from the freezer. Ultra processed. Staff were efficient. Food was fast. Tables were sticky. Prices £14-15 for main.

Always liked this pub and take my family there. But £6.15 a pint of lager now is ridiculous. I will go somewhere else. Shame as we live close
