Grazianos in South Ayrshire

Good old fashioned fish and chips which is hard to find these days. Friendly service and great value for money. My father in law who can find fault in anything declared it as very tasty!!

Fantastic service from the wonderful team at Grazianos. The head fryer who we assume was the boss was extremely helpful and friendly. We were visiting from England which he had spotted. He was very interested and kind to us. My brother wanted to buy some haggis to take home and the owner had no issues in supplying a small amount that could be taken away in raw state which was a lovely touch. The fish and chips were excellent served to us by the lovely ladies and the whole experience could not have been better. Absolutely first class the whole shop and team were great. Thank you.

Traditional seaside kinda old fashioned Scottish Italian fish and chip shop. Been a few times and the fish is always cooked fresh, sometimes busy so 10-15 minute wait, good value with the option of take away or sitting in. I really love the fish and great portion size for the money. The dogs loved the single sausage.

Worst fish supper I have ever had. Thick soggy batter just fell of the fish chips were no better ended up in the bin. Been here many times over the years but won't be back.

Fabulous traditional F&C…. Although one should order fish supper or fish tea! The fish (Haddock) was super fresh and very well cooked, the batter crisper than a crisp thing! Chips excellent.

Rude arrogant staff I was taken aback by this attitude to the customers. Customer service is poor at best. lack of knowledge when asked about items on menu. Produce is mediocre, the meal I ordered was horrible. It had a strong acrid taste whilst being greasy. Not pleasant at all. Left feeling somewhat disappointed I wouldn’t return.

Best fish and chips by far, excellent portions, staff very friendly, nothing is a bother to them, would never miss going there when in Girvan, would highly recommend

First time I've tried this chippy & will definitely be back!! Had a smoked sausage supper & the batter was light & crispy. Chips were so tasty, wife had chips & mushy peas & was really impressed. One of the best chippies I've had in a long time!

Just bought a portion of chips a single fish and a portion of curry sauce .Worst meal ever seagulls appeared to enjoy it. The fish was not cooked fresh and was in the hot cabinet when I arrived it was a soggy greasy mess . Chips were awful all tiny pieces which were reheated and grey in colour couldn’t eat anything definitely won’t be back

Staff were friendly when we arrived. My partner and I both ordered a fish and chips and sat down at the water nearby to eat them. They were both tasty but we noticed they were particularly greasy. We had a grease hangover all day from it. Enjoyed the food but wouldn’t rush back.

Want triple cooked hard batter eat here.. Was looking forward to a fish & chips after being on the ferry and was sadly disappointed when the fish & chips appeared. It was £8.50 for hard batter with tiny end of the line chips. Very little fish within the batter and soft inside (gooey next to the fish). Would recommend to drive on and miss this.

In the area for business and spotted this place by the harbour. The staff took my order of a “Fish Tea” which was 2 fish, chips, mushy peas, bread and butter and a pot of tea. Served quickly by a young girl who was very welcoming and was soon serving a very generous sized portion. Delicious! I’ll only be here a couple of times a year, but I’ll be calling into this place again. Recommended.

This spot is great for lunch if you are visiting the beautiful coastal town of Girvan. Perfect location, close to the seaside and the Girvan Harbour. I was there with my son. He had fish supper, and I had smoked fish. The waitress was lovely, so hardworking. Our meal was freshly cooked and piping hot. We enjoyed our lovely lunch and the beautiful view. We highly recommend this business to anyone driving through Girvan. Affordable prices. It is worth stopping by. You will be very happy there.

Fast service, queue was halfway down the street, staff were outside taking orders so the queue moved very quickly, chips were nice, curry sauce a bit out with the expected, fish and sausage both greasy. All in, a bit disappointing

Think this used to be the Marina or Harbour chippy. Walk up only due to COVID, all the countermeasures in place. Fish and chips very fresh but slightly greasy batter. Fritters are massive! Half pizza was excellent and the chips and cheese were good. A young staff but they do well. Excellent seating area across the road to watch the harbour. Will be back !

Usually sit in for fish tea but having been told on Thursday they were opened til 6pm 7 days a week we sadly were told at 4.45pm that they had decided to close early so went for our fish supper somewhere else.

Really surprised by the negative reviews, we had a delicious takeaway from Grazianos. Definitely worth a try if you are in Girvan

After our wee day trip to ailsa craig we were starving so we popped in here for something to eat. It wasnt busy which is quite unusual as it always is.We got some pizza and chips and a king rib. Both were lovely as always but the only issue was that they had stuck the pizza together which meant all the cheese had stuck to one side when we were trying to separate it?Seen someone ordering buckets of chips which was a plastic sandcastle bucket filled with chips with a spade, we thought this was an ingenious idea.Well worth a visit!

On a recent trip to Girvan, we just had to park up in the Harbour and Have fish and chips! - However these have to be the WORST Fish and Chips I have ever had in my life, And I have eaten plenty in 58 years!! 2 small pieces of Fish which was supposed to be haddock, on a bed of overfried dried up lukewarm chips...the fish were small and flat, the batter, if that's what it was?, was stodgy and undercooked, yet the fish underneath was overcooked and dry? I have no idea how they achieved this, but either way it was horrific....just reminded me of a pair of Flip flops that had been fried, the best bit about it was the Wrapping...NEWSPAPER !! and we paid over £11 for this crappy meal...NEEDLESS to say we will not be going back to GRAZIANO'S!!

Stopped in the Harbour carpark, for the night, on our trip to cover the SW300. We spotted this fish and chip shop on the corner. After a day walking Bob the dog on the beach and around the town, we decided to have fish and chips. My partner had fish and chips, super large portion and simply delicious she says. I however had “Blaggis” and chips. A concoction of a battered sausage shaped dish, made of half Haggis and half Black pudding. Wow wow what can I say outstandingly delicious. Even Bob loved it. We all highly recommend Grazianos delicious food and awesomely friendly staff.

A wee run down to Girvan , for an afternoon oot, have a fish supper then home, a pleasure experienced by many in the past, myself included. But our last run down to Girvan was spoiled by, what I would describe as possibly the worst fish supper that I have ever tasted. it was a decent portion of both the fish and chips, but was spoiled for myself and my wife , when it was presented to us, dripping with oil.As I waited in the car, for my wife to collect our food, I was amazed by how quick they were processing the orders, when I saw the turnover of the customers . But when we had our food , it was easy to see how they had achieved it , the fish hadn't been allowed to drain properly after coming out the fryer. We will definitely not be using this fish bar again.

We recently bought a house in the town. As we are busy sorting things out, cooking was off the menu, so my good wife volunteered to go for fish and chips. It was 5.30 p.m. on a dark and breezy December evening. Off she went and 10 minutes later she put our order in. WOT, no haddock, due to a local shortage, so whiting was substituted. Twice with chips and mushy peas.On opening at home we discovered 2 nice whiting fillets each. They were beautiful. If they are available, we will have them again. Chips were good and the mushy peas ( twice the amount of some places ), outfaced us.All in all, very good, in fact on this visit, as good as it gets. We will be back.

Just visited here today for lunch. There were 5 of us, and not one person was disappointed. I had the Special Fish, just melted in your mouth, so fresh. Others had Fish and Scampi. The girl that served us was really nice too, would definitely go back when visiting Girvan again. Just be warned, do not eat anything before going as the plates are full to over flowing, which is unusual now a days.

Surprised. It’s always really busy while other chip shops in Girvan are dead. Dunno what that says about them but the quality here was sub standard, tastes like dirty or old oil.

Found Grazianos on trip advisor staying locally easy to find near harbour in Girvan had to queue so a good sign staff take order as soon as you arrive worth the wait asked for fish and chips all cooked fresh bonus was 2 fish in a portion with plenty of chips.Would recommend if you are in the area.

Very friendly staff, one lady in particular cut up the sausage we purchased for our dog to make it easier for us to feed her & provided a tray to put her water in.....the chips were lovely & fresh & hot🔥 !

Great cafe with table service attached to the takeaway fish and chip shop. Chips were really good! Chicken curry was delicious as was the steak pie! Service was friendly and fast.Good value for money. Would highly recommend if you are visiting Girvan 😋😋

Love the fact that your order is put on when you go in! No soggy batter in this place!! The fish was delicious, crispy outside and succulent inside! This time we just had a takeaway but we have also used the restaurant to sit in before and would thoroughly recommend this as well.

Bought a small fish supper here on Sunday evening. Can’t imagine what size the normal one is! The fish was very good and the chips were okay. Far from the best fish supper I’ve ever had but it did the job.

This place is spot on!! Pulled up with our campervan, queue was out the door, always a good sign!! We got fish, chips, sausages, chips cheese and curry sauce, onion rings!! All delicious!! Would definitely recommend

We always stop here when in Girvan, food is very tasty, good sized portions and always hot. We wouldnt go anywhere else!

Fish suppers are great value for money , two bits of fish and loads of fresh hot chips, had a carry out at weekend . Chicken was cooked fresh while you wait, got two fish suppers and a single chicken. Friendly well organised staff , Well worth a visit if you want value for your money. Next time will sit in as seating area looked lovely and clean with great harbour views out the window.

We have often stopped off at Grazianos for takeaway, but after a day out wi th a friend and the kids we decided to eat in Grazianos.

Went twice in a week. Haggis supper was fantastic and the fish was really taste, fresh and was enough for two people as you get two pieces of fish and plenty of chips

Decent portions of good food. Joined onto the Harbour Cafe, same food cooked by the same staff. Customers are ofter queued out onto the street.

Staff were very friendly. Good choice on the menu, reasonably priced and you can also sit in which was good. Will definitely be back if n the area.

Visited the subject premises to purchase the family Sunday evening meal. The order consisted of a fish supper ,batter watery and pretty poor , chicken nugget supper , nuggets ok chips soft poor, sausage supper again the sausage was fine chips not pleasant , finally a steak pie supper, the steak pie was passable however unfortunately the chips were below. Standard , all in all very disappointing , just showing a lack of care and attention to the food preparation and cooking , would we return or recommend I am afraid NO .

I grew up in a fishing village and am used to fish straight off the boat. This was the best, yummyest, freshest fish I’ve ever had ❤️

On my rare visits to Scotland I always make sure to visit here. Their fish and chips take me home to my childhood and in my opinion are very hard to beat anywhere in the world. They continue to have the same high standards and still offer two whole fish on their suppers when others have reduced

Visited here whilst on holiday in the area and ordered the fish and chips, blaggis and 2 children’s portions of chicken nuggets and chips. The food was lovely proper chips cooked in beef dripping and wrapped in newspaper! The kids portions were huge they only needed one portion of chips between them! We shared half fish half blaggis and was glad I did as the blaggis is so big and rich I’d of struggled just eating that on its own! The fish was lovely with 2 seperate pieces made it ideal to share! We didn’t eat inside so can’t comment on service, wish they did proper chippys like this where we live!

We have a dressed fish (you get 2) mushy peas and a sausage supper without batter most weeks from here, and it is consistantly good, and we know a good chippy when we get one! been to most of the best rated chippies Anstruther etc and this one is good believe me, any negative reviews you wonder what the heck? because we've never had a bad one, use dry potatoes so you get a crispy chip, never greasy either, the fish is lovely and fresh melt in the mouth, basically this is why you get queues out the door especially at weekend teatimes, between 5-6pm very busy.

We are on holiday and thought after a long walk fish and chips would go down a treat , well go elsewhere if you want a tasty fish supper and decent service , the staff are impatient and grumpy , but seagulls were happy with our leftovers .

Ate here recently and have to say the sweet chilli haggis was delish! Husband enjoyed fish tea with peas and kids cleared their plates too. Would definitely eat here again when we are in the area.

We went here having read the trip advisor reviews and like other reviews the queue was out of the door, but we were really disappointed. The fish and chips were undercooked and tasted awful. Our two teenagers -who eat anything- even left most of the meal. I am not a connoisseur of fish and chips but on the day we visited it was really sadly very poor. A highlight though was that we went down to the beach to eat them and Girvan beach was lovely! The service was fine and the price ok, but we will not go back.

This is the place to get great fish and chips at a great price.

We wanted to eat in the cafe part of this however I'm not sure of the hours but it was just closing at around 9pm. We were able to get a take away meal though from the same place. It is incredibly popular and the staff were very busy working through everyone's orders. They worked together incredibly well and went through a huge queue in no time at all. The portions are incredibly generous and the food is delicious. Lovely last meal to be honest as we sailed home the next day.

At least this time I got the right PLAICE. We had been here before and 5 was definitely the scores on the doors that time. Last time I had the steak pie and chups...and it was guid. Last time hubby had the fish and was hot, freshly cooked and worth the wait as is all the food cooked here. It was hoaching the last time and it was hoaching this time too ooooh.

Fish suppers are brilliant, must be the best in Ayrshire , 4 adults+ 1 child ,staff were first class and nothing was a problem ,very good fish ,crispy batter,good tasty chips. Will be visiting again in the near future.

We stopped on the way home and as it was sunny it was very busy with a large queue. There was a few seats at the cafe so we just sat in. Food was really fresh and very good. Would definitely stop again.

Stopped here on way home. Sat in and ordered fish and chips portion was huge and reasonable priced. Food was very fresh and tasty. Decor was very quaint and reminded me of an old fashioned cafe but in a good way. Will defo be back and would highly recommend.

My wife and I and a couple of friends called in for a meal on our way home from a drive round Galloway. First sign that this was a good popular restaurant was seeing a queue stretching out of the door. The very friendly and efficient staff soon got through the waiting customers and we were served with the most delicious fish and chips, and at a very reasonable cost. I had previously been told that this was the best chippy in Girvan, now I know just how good it is. This will NOT be our last visit.

I've had a few fish suppers here and the quality has varied. It's always very busy and usually good but I've found it inconsistent. I've had lovely fish in a crispy batter but I've had greasy fish in soggy batter.

I often judge a place by its fish and chip shop and Girvan is no exception. I could not fault Grazianos from the price, to the portion size which was awesome. Quite often I can enjoy fish and chips whilst I'm eating them but unfortunately they come back to haunt me, not in this case! Perhaps we were lucky buying them as we did after the lunchtime rush but in any event they were hot, not too greasy and the fish was wonderful!

Stopped off here - once again - a few nights ago. The best haddock and chips you can get. No wonder there is a queue almost permanently awaiting a carry-out.

Yes prices are reasonable! But that's it. 7:45 on a Saturday night and we're told in seated area 'we're closed' but the take away next door is still open. On the strength of previous reviews we gave it a try, assistant was very good at managing a busy queue, food was average and definitely greasy. We searched for this place, no pun intended, but disappointed.

We normally sit in but this day we got a take away it was lunch time . What a difference from the food previously the chips were soggy, rubbery and tasted like they were reheated chips. The steak pie was okay but the sausage supper was more batter than sausage. We all ways visit this chip shop when in Girvan but after the food this time I will be trying another shop

My husband and I came across this little gem completely by accident. We had driven down from Ayr and had stopped at Girvan harbour intending to make a brisk walk along the seafront. However, as soon as we had got out of our car, we could smell fish and chips being cooked. Following the scent and passing several people eating chips wrapped in newspaper, we turned the corner to find the shop. I was quite surprised as to how busy it was. I ordered cheesy chips for myself whilst my husband chose black pudding and chips. Portions were generous. After a short wait our dinner arrived. Both were freshly cooked and my husband hasn't stopped raving about his black pudding. All he could summon up was "absolutely delicious". Being a 'southern softie' I noticed strange items on the menu such as cheese & curry & chips and I did witness the cooking of the infamous deep fried pizza. Well worth visiting if in the Girvan area.

Dropped in for two fish suppers and a sausage supper costing about £20 overall. Chips and the fish were really greasy and not pleasant. Unfortunately most of it went in the bin. Never again.

Let's just say Scottish portions are huge. I still have no idea what a fish supper is. Prices were good and the food tastes great. I can't really ask for more.

Visited today just as they opened for Lunch, the staff were so welcoming. It was my Dads 85th Birthday and he wanted fish and chips by the coast so this place was just perfect. The food was served quickly and freshly cooked. The fish must have come straight off the boats 50ft away, it was really fresh and the batter was so crispy, tea was served in a pot with an extra pot of hot water. The large fish tea is Large with 2 pieces of fish, The lady who served us was more than happy to bring an empty plate so my Dad and his Lady friend could share. Great place with outstanding food and staff. If you are in South Ayrshire you would be missing a treat if you didn't pop in, if you are pushed for time they do take away next door.

We were staying in a Brunston Castle Lodge and decided to try this place out after we saw the Tripadvisor reviews. Three of us had the fish supper and the other the haggis pudding with chips. The portions of chips was just right but there were two pieces of haddock which I just managed. My only slight criticism was that the batter was a little soft but to be fair that often happens when battered fish is wrapped up. I tested the haggis and I have say I was jealous that I didn't order a haggis supper. I would recommend this fish and chip shop and if the queues were evidence many people agree!

Enjoyed good traditional fish and chips here alongside some deep fried haggis and Blaggis. It's good because it's different and has a traditional south Ayrshire feel. Worth a visit if in this neck of the woods.

A great fish & chip takeaway. Had to queue in the street, which nowadays is unheard off, but that it is generally a good place, and it was, very good. Would definetely go back.

Fantastic fish and chips . Not greasy and woderful batter don't pass it up! Sit in Sertvice as well as carry out. Covers a variety of foods such as Pizza, Sausae, Pie and Chicken Supopers. Black Pudding white pudding, haggis etc. Good servioce both in the carry out and sit in. A must for locals and tourosts alike.
