We decided to have a quick treat and were very happy with the service and especially the Chocolate Brownies prepared by the Pastry Chef, Sarah. I loved the rich chocolate delights. Definitely be back for more! Thank you Danka for the recommendation

We had a lovely afternoon tea. Good selection, nice cakes. Price is reasonable (£29) and handy 50% off for kids. Great service (Ian was brilliant).

Ate there on Saturday night when staying at Burnham Beeches hotel. The food was very tasty but there didn't seem to many staff and some didn't seem to understand English well. They got the food order wrong for my 4 yr old (ended up with a massive Adult Fish & chips) and brought me the wrong dessert. We had to request tartar sauce 5x times and then chase it up again. Finally turned up when dish almost done. They served the sauce the night before at bar menu so we knew they had it. Lovely atmosphere in dining room though. Despite the issue it was a treat.

The menu is very limited. The food was edible, but not great. Service was friendly, but very slow. If you stay in the hotel and have no time to go out, this is ok.

We had a lovely meal here as part of a treat stay at the hotel. I chose goats cheese mousse followed by Guinea fowl. Both were delicious. My dessert, supposedly a dark chocolate delice, was a bit underwhelming and came surrounded by scraps of what looked like cushion stuffing (some kind of light sponge) - nice but not as well presented and not up to same standard. My husband's Eton mess had no meringue in it so was basically just fruit and whipped cream. The kids menu was reasonable though their French fries were very salty. The room is elegantly presented and the staff were attentive but not overbearing. We were the only guests at the time.

Decided to have an evening meal in the hotel as we were stopping the weekend, we really pleased we did, £30 each for a 2 course meal, cooked to a high standard, well presented, tasted great in a very nice dining room. Tables spread apart so you are not on top of each other, attentive waiter and waitress without being rushed, a very pleasant experince.

booked an afternoon tea at Gray's as another place was not avalable, and we were not dissapointed. there was plenty to eat , a little bit more tea would be great, but that depends on how much you can drink! Theer was plenty left after we have finished (we had a party of 14) so we asked to take it with us and made a second tea of it later in the evening!

We were staying at Burnham Beeches Hotel for two days, and we went to Gray's for a dinner. What a lovely experience ! Great food , from starters to desserts and wines , everything was delicious and well presented. They have quite interesting dishes on a menu, so everyone will be able to choose something they like. Not cheap, but not a bad value for what you are getting! Well worth visiting!

A friend and I were at Gray's Restaurant for afternoon tea today, along with my 7 month old daughter. From start to finish, the staff were so attentive and accommodating. There was already a table and high chair set up when we arrived. We were able to look over the menu and make changes for any dietary requirements we had; I have a fish allergy, so substituted the smoked salmon sandwich-the waiter came back with at least 5 other sandwich alternatives! The food was beautifully presented, with a large selection of hot drinks as well. Our waiter was a credit to the establishment and definitely deserves a special mention-from the warm welcome upon arrival, explanation of the menu, fantastic service throughout and even the goodbyes at the end-flawless! Thank you so much for a relaxing afternoon!

AVOID !!! We visited Burnham Beeches for afternoon tea for Fathers Day - The first experience was awful, so was asked to return so they could fix the issue. We were offered their sincere apologies and Champagne Afternoon Tea for FOUR people. Upon arrival we were greeted by Nico, we gave our name and was told "OH, the booking is for 2 people... wait there" No apology. We were just left in the corridor feeling very uncomfortable. Nico returned and again repeated that the booking was only for two people and that he HAD to reset the table whilst huffing. Clearly we had inconvenienced him. We sat down at the table that had our cutlery and napkins had been chucked on (not set correctly) and Nico continued to explain the menu again we were told what we were having NOT asked about any dietary requirements. Please bare in mind my sister is heavily pregnant and this is quite clear to see. My mother asked as she (my sister) is pregnant she cannot eat smoked salmon and is this possible to swap. Nico then rolled his eyes and offered Egg Mayo. Due to other people now looking at our table my sister quickly said yes to avoid any further embarrassment. Due to working in hotels myself for 10 years I understand the difficulties sometimes faced when emails from head office aren't handed over correctly. So I asked my mother for the email and went outside to look for Nico. We met in the corridor and I explained that this was a previous complaint and we were here to experience a better service. I reasoned with him explaining that I understand on weekends you are given limited incorrect information and could i explain the situation and let him know what was promised. He put his hand up to my face and told me "I know the situation, you don't need to explain to me, I know already" whilst rolling his eyes and LAUGHING !! I said "please Nico I am trying to explain the situation so this avoids another terrible experience for my family". He ignored me, as he was so engrossed staring at my BREASTS and smirking until I had to make him aware that my eyes were "here" NOT where he was staring and smirking at. He continued to stare and smirk and ignore my request to look at me in the eye. After returning to restaurant and asking my family could we leave, we asked for the duty manger, a scruffy lady came to meet us with no name badge on neither did the lady introduce herself. We were hushed away into a room far away from reception - this was clearly so guests couldn't hear the violation that I had experienced by Nico. Again no apology was given, I explained what had happened both in the restaurant and outside between Nico and myself. The duty manger looked at me rolled her eyes and told me that my story was exaggerated and my use of words were far to strong and she does not agree neither can she believe what I was saying. At that point I walked away and will NEVER be returning to Burnham Beeches again as I left feeling humiliated, violated and a "liar" PLEASE NEVER EVER visit Burnham Beeches ..... And please share this information with Friends and Family as I would never want anyone feeling the way I did.

My friend and I had a lovely meal here.. You really couldn't fault the food at all. We had a reduced ala carte menu on offer with open table for £30 each and you got definite value for money. You were spoilt for choice from the menu, I had duck and chicken liver parfait for starter and sea bream for main and both were absolutely delicious. The dessert tho was spectacular, coconut Pana Cotta.. I really could have eaten another portion. The service was friendly and attentive without being over bearing.I will say that the hotel looks a little dark and not shabby but tired. That statement was also echoed in the atmosphere.. It was so quiet that I felt nervous laughing. If you're after a quiet meal with exceptional food at a good price then you've found your place.

This was the second year of having a Christmas day lunch at the Burnham Beeches hotel. I have to say I was pleasantly pleased with the lunch, and thought the hotel had improved from the previous year . The staff were very attentive. The lunch was good with the normal roast turkey. My brother really raved re his fish. The ambiance was good and they had added small little touches like a small table gift for each guest. thank you for making it an enjoyable affaire.

We ate at Grays as part of a 2 night stay at Burnham Beeches Hotel which included 1 might dinner in Grays restaurant. The food and service were excellent and could not be faulted. We were intending to eat out locally on our second night but our first night's experience was so good we chose to eat at Grays again on our second night. 2 no 3 course dinners and a bottle of wine for £85. Great value when compared to other local establishments. Will definitely return and would be a regular visitor if I lived locally. Highly recommended

We visited Burnham Beeches for champagne afternoon tea for a friends birthday. I chose it as it was reasonably priced in a nice setting, one of many similar venues in the area.I made a good choice. There was a wide variety of teas to chose from, the afternoon tea included a glass of Laurent Perrier champagne for £25 per person. The sandwiches were fresh, the salmon and dill ones were particularly good. There was also, meringue nests with fresh homemade Chantilly cream and fresh fruit, banana bread, chocolate brownie, cheesecake and homemade fruit scones with clotted cream and jam.It was exquisite, from the service to the food it was wonderful. The decor was lovely, very tasteful and complementary to the georgian age of the building, set in lovely grounds which were very well kept.

Had a 3 course meal in the hotel restaurant on the first night of our stay. Food was of good quality and sizing, and the ambiance was very romantic with candles. Service was also good.Wine selection is generally over priced, and not the best selection in my opinion. I chose a nice french wine but they only served 1/2 bottle sizes for that wine? There is one nicer decor'ed room (dark oak) than the other.

Food was well cooked limited choice for mains overpriced for what you got. The wine was reasonably priced however did not get the full glass that was stated, thought the server was going to come back with more as our main meal was served however we were asked if would like to purchase another glass when at desserts so a bit late to question that one. Excellent buffet for breakfast

On arrival we were greeted well and seated. Perhaps it was an omen that in spite of this being a Sunday there was no one else in the restaurant apart from a couple having a tasting for a wedding meal. Drinks, starters and bread duly were very nice. 3 of us ordered the rib beef steak. However the beef was burnt on the outside and had an unpleasant smell. After we have finished, the waitress returned. We explained the situation and they gave us a free desserts in exchange. We then ordered desserts and waited and waited then had to go in search of food & staff. After 30 minutes we got them and they were good. Reason - staff too busy serving afternoon teas elsewhere!
