Grayling in Great Yarmouth

Had a couple of really nice meals here. The service from Kirby and Gary was friendly and efficient. We will be going again I’m sure.

The meal served was so removed from the meal description on the menu I read the menu again to make sure I’d ordered the right thing. Dried up Beans and a salad of 3 slivers of tomato 4 quarters of cucumber a slice of onion and some limp iceberg lettuce not the Mixed Salad Leaves, Red Pepper, Kale, Brown Rice and Soya Beans with Cucumber Tomatoes and Red Onion advertised on the Menu.

I ordered fish and chipd. it was very overcooked and dry it took 40 mins for me to finally get my food. my husband had finished his long before mine arrived. disappointed on the service . Previous visits have been fine but not a good experience this time. 👎👎

Wonderful food with generous portions. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I've been making regular outings with my family for a while because we always have a great time. Both the carvery and menu options go down wonderfully. A big shout out to John for always giving his all to make the experience worth going out for.

Had an absolute lovely meal. Roy was a 5 star server, very polite, quick and efficient. Will be back next week

What a great night. My wife's birthday so with two friends we easily booked a table online. We were dealt with very swiftly on arrival and once choosing our meal we went to bar to book. We were really pleased with it. We had a request on one of thd meals that was dealt with smoothly and the drinks quickly delivered. The food arrived in good time and was excellent. We all had Hunters Chicken and it was really good. The staff were all superb and we will definitely be back again. We'll done team.

Kids absolutely loved their time here, food is good value for money for a family. Great option after a busy day when you do not want to cook and our host Roy was wonderful with the kids and ensuring our food was out in good time

Worst experience ever in there waited over an hour and 30 mins for mains because according to them it was due to the fact we had 2 starters, kids were screaming and hungry cancelled got a refund

Nice clean and friendly. Really enjoyed The meal was really Filling and plenty. Roy looked after us from arrival to when we finished. Due to being on crutches he offered to bring drinks to table for us.

Great service- we came earlier than our reservation was and they gave us a table, quick order and easily updated food preferences, food was amazing and it came quite quickly. I am very happy with my last 6 visits there, definitely will come back again soon

Been in multiple times over the last couple of weeks, staff are great and food is consistently good! Roy has been excellent also!

We were warmly welcomed and shown to our reserved table. We were asked about allergies and given information on how to order. The staff were friendly. Food came in a timely manner and was freshly cooked. Food was well presented and we both enjoyed our different dinners. Ordering was quick and easy and there was a good choice of both food and drink available.

Roy went above and beyond to make sure we had a good evening. Will definitely return soon!

We went to the bar to order food and the server behind the till was moody and didn't help with ordering drinks as we asked for what drinks they had and he just pointed towards the bottles behind him not helpful 😑

Really good pub grub, staff very helpful! My mrs is on crutches and made table available so she could keep her leg extended. And even offered to help bring drinks over to table. Tryed to order on app and couldnt adjust anything so found it easier to order at the bar. Foods really good very filling and food adjusted to suit our needs

As we arrived through the door we were greeted by a cheerful staff member. They kindly gave us a choice of seating, asked about any allergies and explained the ordering process. Decided to order via the app. All straight forward and easy to use. Our food arrived promptly and was nice and hot, freshly cooked. Very pleased with our food and the service we received .

Nice restaurant. Similar prices and food selection to a wetherspoons. Nice cakes available for dessert. This has a lovely nature area next to it too. Update: visited again... Table was dirty and unwiped (venue was not busy) ... Yorkshire puddings were rock hard and biscuit-like. Burger had an amazingly stale roll. Rest of the meals were tasty. Update: visited twice again. Food and carvery was excellent.

As a local family, we haven’t been to the grayling in about 2 years as last time the food was horrible and we just didn’t enjoy our time - this time the food was so much better and is probably one of the best carvery’s around Great Yarmouth that we have been to!! Amazing food, and good atmosphere - nothing to fault!!

We were dining as a party for a birthday. We had fantastic service from all, but especially Roy.

Have been here a few times and is usually pretty good, this time however- Service was okay but the food was not very good, the burger we ordered was burnt and for my carvery I just got a couple chunks of fatty gammon even though there was a fresh joint next to it, I still got the last few scraps so I didn’t actually get a slice of meat. The rest of the carvery food was quit dry and just not enjoyable.

Roy a superb server, wasn’t out bet experience here, but considering the staff were up against it with a large table with allergies, they performed well under pressure. We’ll be back.

Went yesterday with my mum and family for her 70 birthday okay we their at 12 .order food the carvery was warm veg hard my hotdog was sitting on the table while I was helping a family member with their dinner service I told the staff the dinner was cold he said sorry not would you like to change it .Coffee machine out order if you gonna serve instant dont get cheap one absolutely disgusting wasn't even busy won't be going their again also if your chefs come out put clean apron in look as if you enjoy your job

Had family lunch ,table 4 people booked .we all had different meals .food served hot and tasty .service was personal to each table .found it enjoyable quiet, great for catch up .

We absolutely love our visits to Grayling. Staff are lovely - nothing is ever too much trouble, food is beyond delicious and so much choice, all very reasonably priced so we can still treat ourselves. Booking online is easy too, so get yourselves there soon - you deserve it and you'll love every mouthful 🙂

Staff were fantastic, very friendly, great customer service especially the guy serving on the carvery counter. Food was brilliant, will be a regular at this venue.

We came as group of 4 for a carvery. We noticed you were short staffed. Reece who was on carvery was on his own serving the food and filling up the vegetables etc. at the same time. So he kept going back and fourth to the kitchen. He seemed to have no help at all so hard for him to keep up with everything. Under the pressure he kept his cool and was very pleasant and polite as several people were waiting to be served. Good job. Thankyou.

The man on the carvery was exceptional. He remained so calm despite the busyness and was polite and friendly and taking each person at a time. It was fabulous to see. The servers were all friendly, great with the kids and the food was yummy too!

On arrival we was looking forward to having the carvery but thankfully before we ordered we had a look at the carvery Station. To say it was awful is an understatement. It looked like it had been sitting there all day. And the server was filthy dirty himself. So we decided to have the surf and turf we asked for medium rare when it turned up it was dry and over cooked. We did tell the waitress but she blamed it on the steak. We didn't bother with pudding we feel we had wasted enough money by then. We left

This is a great pub, not that noisy, plus you can bring in a well behaved dog. Food great, sometimes have to wait for veg via carvery. Staff very pleasant.

Staff polite carvery okay but could do with more veg choice .outside looking tired could do with some paint . Bonus dog friendly even tho we didn't have ours with us it's great to see a separate area for dogs and owners .wish more could do this

Good food and service, new menu with lots of choices.

Has totally lost the plot during weekdays. Carvery old and dried up, Specials small portions and undercooked, partly raw. The whole place was almost empty. That would be a place for Gordon Ramsay to film a review. He would tear it apart! We won’t be visiting again.

5 of us had a carvery meat had to come from kitchen instead of on the carvery counter 2 small dried up pieces each and hardly any veg was out about 12 bits of dried up carrot, My brother had steak and ale pie and it was so dry and hard even with gravy on usually enjoy going to the Grayling but this was awful 😖

Can't fault the service really. The only thing was our food did take a while to come out. It wasn't overly busy and a lot of busy were getting the carvery, so not sure why there was a hold up but the food was really good when we got it.

Made a lovely family night even better!

The carvery was very tasty with lovely cheesy cauliflower. The meat was good. Shame there was no Pedigree ale. The Oxford Gold was not enjoyed as much. We will be back!

Lovely big roast dinna & got 30% off which was great !

Ordered a sirloin steak & left half of it as inedible & really grisly. Waitress asked how was our meal so I explained & she said we're sorry must of been not so good bit of meat & that was it, so not too impressed

Food okay. Nothing special. Flavourless! Carvery poor! Bought in and heated meals food. Tables were filty!! Need a good wipe down!!! Menus also sticky and food squashed on them! Not impressed

Me and my husband popped in because wanted a delicious carvery whilst staying in Great Yarmouth and we wasn’t disappointed,absolutely delicious,one of the best carvery I’d ever had,great price,we are staying in Great Yarmouth again tomorrow and have booked to come in for another roast,can not wait 😋 x

We were eating at 5 , when the waitress said we could go upto the carvery we was left waiting for someone to serve us for a couple of mins, we asked if there was gammon n told it had run out and there was just the remains of a turkey, beef looked too well done, I opted for the pork which was lovely, happy with the veg etc then got to the gravy and both were empty, trying to get someone's attention n we heard loads of voices in the kitchen , eventually found someone n asked for some more . Visiting relatives in the area so stopped for a bite to eat. We were greeted by roy behind the bar, a very pleasant perlite and helpful young man. We had the carvery it was very nice and good value. So all in all i would recommend.

Quite place which was nice had a carvery but wasn't very nice Yorkshires were hard n dripping with oil n the stuffing was dry as hell but great service

Lovely venue for a family meal for New Year’s Eve. Lovely waiter and all staff were brilliant.

Food was good drinks a little on the expensive side.

A last minute family drive out to the coast for an afternoon of fresh air which began with Lunch. The Grayling looked inviting and was a good choice. The Carvery was fantastic... Moist and flavoursome meat, everything was piping hot and delicious. The restaurant was very festively decorated and the Staff were very welcoming and friendly, even went the extra mile and presented my children with Christmas Crackers.

Came with the family, Roy served us and was brilliant many thanks. Food was good and service outstanding.
