food was poor but the waiter Roy was great

Roy was an excellent and attentive server. Even remembering to return our children’s cutlery. He remembered we had visited on Sunday.

Great atmosphere, clean, and is our second time bk this week, which tells u something. Keera was very happy, happy to help thank you 😊

Second visit, first visit when they initially opened and it was very poor. This second visit was very much improved and I would go again

Me and my husband booked online when we arrived we were told just to sit anywhere. Ordered two starters and two mains. The garlic mushrooms were so overcooked that every single one was so hard we could not eat them. We had no chance to complain as the gentleman just took our plates. The mains. Two medium rare sirloin steak americano's. What arrived was one sirloin one rump both rare. The rump was so undercooked it was one blade of grass away from mooing. The onion rings were just batter and grease no onion. The peppercorn sauce was thick and lumpy and the extra two eggs were like plastic. We spoke to the waitress who took our food spoke to the manger and then bought the plates back she then used her finger to touch the rump stake and told my husband he was right it was undercooked and would he like his food back, after she touched it, then stated it was sirloin and it's just thick. My meal was also wrong undercooked and swimming in grease and very distastless. We asked for a refund and had to resort to coco pops and KFC for tea.

Decided to go here for date night with my wife got the garlic breaded mushrooms for starter to be presented with greasy over cooked breaded mushrooms then on to the main asked for a steak Americano asked what steak I asked for a sirloin steak and got given a rump steak asked for it medium rare comes out still alive nearly swimming in blood speak to the waitress explained the under cooked steak and the rest of the food near enough cold she took it away to bring it back to tell me the same thing I told her and asked if I wanted to eat it still but still managed to get a refund but I wouldn't recommend this place.

Nice meal for us both diligently looked after by sever Kirby who couldn't have been more helpful,and John on the bar this guy is an asset to the buisness very cheerful and welcoming, done all.

One of my favourite places to have a cavery. Doesn't matter if its with my family or just friends, its a relaxed environment. The staff are always very helpful and friendly. The prices are good and the food is really nice. There are limited disabled parking spaces, but the car park has lots of room. Outside is a reasonable size play area for children and there is also an area where young families can dine. I highly recommend a visit, they serve fresh homemade cakes for either dine in or takeaway too.

Total crap never had such a poor meal.

Went for a carvery and how the menu is worded it sounded like you got pigs in blankets and if you wanted extra you could buy them. I don't eat the meat and normally just have the sausage. I did ask if I dint have the meat could I have pigs in blankets instead but was told I had to buy them. So just a heads up if your like me. Besides that the venue was good has was the food.

Just visited for Sunday lunch and unfortunately I turned up ill once I was about to eat. I asked the staff if they could help by packing up my meal to take home all was offered was some tin foil (to take home a carvery in) apparently the Manager had advised that’s all they have and wouldn’t even let me wrap the plate even though I said I’d return it on next visit. I hadn’t even touched my dinner and would have been a total waste of money if I hadn’t of taken the mushed up runny heap to just feed the dogs with at least as wasn’t very appealing once wrapped it just tin foil. Unfortunately there will no longer be another visit, it’s such a shame the staff have let the normal standards of hospitality go since our last visit a few weeks ago and could have been a bit more understanding and polite.

We went to the grayling and decided to choose the carvery. At no time we were told that it was ending. We approached the serving station to find nobody manning it. Someone arrived and he sort of cut the meat more hacked at it. There was no stuffing available he went and got some it was very soggy I would say microwaved. Then no Yorkshire he fetched some again all floppy microwaved. The roast potatoes were not roasted the carrots were that hard and dry. The peas were like bullets mash was ok. I then went to put gravy on and yep no gravy had to wait agaim whilst my food was getting cold. When it came it was Luke warm. I have put two stars think I was wat too generous. Do not choose carvery here it was disgusting worst I have had

We attended for my husbands 50th birthday celebrations are were not disappointed at all! In fact, we had a wonderful time. Food was hot and delicious. Staff went above and beyond (special shout out to Roy who was amazing). Will be back for sure.

Got a Too Good To Go carvery and it was really good. Massive portion too.

We visit the Grayling often as we like the staff as they are always welcoming and friendly and the food is good value for the money.

Wobbly table, asked to move but waitress was surly grumpy and uncooperative. Finally got another table which was wobbly as well. Then 2 dogs at neighbouring tables decided to have a fight so we walked out. Emailed the pub direct within the hour and still had no response so, staff, fixtures & fittings, dealing with customer and communication all diabolical so you won't be seeing us again (and we will recommend to all the users of our caravan that there are far better places to frequent)

Enjoyed the food, staff excellent. Have visited over many years but has become too dog friendly which will put us off visiting again. Had to move table as dog smell not pleasant with food.

Went in for a meal and was served by Kayleigh, who could not have been more welcoming to us and provided amazing service throughout our visit. Would highly recommend.

The carvery was very tasty with lovely cheesy cauliflower. The meat was good. Shame there was no Pedigree ale. The Oxford Gold was not enjoyed as much. We will be back!

Not overly impressed. Carvery vegetables looked dry when we arrived. Although fresh vegetables were dumped on the old as we sat and waited for our food.

All very good apart from no vegan ice-cream as listed. Apparently they no longer serve it.

Quite some time ago we gave a poor review following a poor meal.... It's now time to give a great review!!!....We decided to give The Graylings another try after such a long time hoping that there would be a new chef....Thankfully there was (Levi) ...what a talented and all round, nice guy he is....I had a carvery, my Wife had a meal from the menu...the food was fantastic, nothing could be improved on....this is a lovely, comfortable and clean restaurant with a great atmosphere...well worth a visit.

We hadn't booked into The Grayling but turned up when it was busy and easily accommodated with no issues. There was plenty for the kids to do here and the staff were amazing, especially Roy who was so kind to our children. We will definitely be returning here when next in GT Yarmouth.

This was our first visit since the new menu had been launched, food was lovely, a nice range of choices. My wife is gluten free and she has always enjoyed our visits here as she has options for her which isn’t always the case elsewhere. Staff were very helpful and polite especially helping my 9 year old daughter with her carvery.

Both myself and my wife work as managers in F&B in the hospitality sector, so it takes a lot to impress us. Roy was absolutely incredible. His service was second to none! He checked in multiple times, engaged with my children, and seemed to genuinely love what he was doing. Reece was the chef working the carvery deck. He had a real passion for the food he was serving. There was a piece of meat he didn't like the look of, he pointed it out and served another piece. He had the best energy I've seen from a carvery chef in years

I was quite.l disappointed with our experience at the Gralins this weekend The table we were given was not cleaned properly it was sticky and not nice at all When we went up for our food it looked as if it what's almost empty there was very little meat left I know it was busy but that doesn't excusewhat was left I feel it should have been keep full Our booking was for 4pm I HAVE BEEN BEFORE and this time I took friends which was not a very good. Recommendation

Roy was very courteous, helpful and did well with such a big group of 14 of us. They were great with a last minute request to add a birthday candle to a dessert.

The Lasagne, chips and salad we had were good. But, the drink i had today (coffee Latte) was dreadful. It had about 1.5 inches of froth and the drink was as if it had been made with watered down skimmed milk with minimal coffee added. Totally tasteless. So bad I couldn't drink it. I couldn't find Latte listed on the table menu, or in the online menu, so I have no idea if it was supposed to be made extra low calorie. I think their coffee machines must have been messing about.

Had to wait 45 minutes for food which me, my partner and her 1 year old was not impressed by but other then that the food was delicious and definitely be coming back in the future when the food service is a bit quicker

We had booked a table for 4 of us for 14.30hrs April 17th. We didn't get our food until 15.25hrs. I had ordered a mixed grill and asked for the steak to be cooked medium to well done. I couldn't even cut into it using a steak knife. I called the waitress over and showed her the poor quality of the cooking. She did check what I had asked the steak to be cooked to. She took the steak away to try and resolve the problem I had highlighted only to be told the steak couldn't be replaced as all the meals come in fully plated. Very disappointed and wouldn't cross the threshold again!!

The poor staff were utterly overwhelmed with the numbers of people, however, they never stopped smiling as they dealt with the crowd. Top marks for Roy who patiently worked through everybody queuing at the bar.

Waiter came over and tooted on my burger, made it taste quite nice actually, ask for Roy for this special service.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at The Grayling. Our server ,Roy, was hard-working and friendly. Other members of staff were also approachable and equally as devoted. We really enjoyed our meals. Our party had the katsu curry burger, scampi, ultimate veggie burger and mac 'n' cheese. The food was delivered to us quickly and it was delicious! The portions were manageable and the food itself was great. It was warm and perfectly cooked. We all agreed it was phenomenal. For dessert ,we had two sherry cheesecakes , salted caramel cookie brownie and a slice of chocolate explosion cake. While all our desserts were exceptional, the chocolate explosion really took the cake. It was mouthwatering and a true masterpiece. I myself could not finish it. Although the helpful staff provided foil to take the remainder home. Overall the meal was wonderful and we would definitely go again.

From start to finish the experience was fab. Good atmosphere and food was spot on. Would highly recommend. Want somewhere to eat whether on holiday or live local. Definitely use this place!

Tried to order using the QR code. All was ok untill the payment process froze. After trying again and still not working, went to bar to order. There was a long que to order with only one person working the till. 10 minuets later another staff member came out and we got to order. Went to the carvery stand and no one was there. After a few minuets a young girl came out who was a little rude, it felt like we were not welcome and had troubled her. She was very abrupt, never made eye contact, no smile and looked thourghly miffed off ! I had the the cold dryed out turkey which went well with the cold veg. Went to get gravy and the dirty sticky gravey pot was empty. Turned to ask for some gravy and she had gone ! I had to look through the kitchen door to get assistance by attracting someones attention. The gravy was replenished in the same old dirty pot. The gravy was awful ! Brown water, thin with no taste. Just awful ! Never been like this before.

From the time we entered the establishment until we finished our meal, we were looked after by friendly & courteous staff. from ordering, until the meal was served. It was hot and delicious. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this establishment to all my family and friend's. A Good 5-star of quality & service. we'll be back soon!

Avoid if you have pet allergies. Dogs under lots of tables in the restaurant, and the carpet is covered in dog hair. Had to leave before ordering food. Didn't realise this was a "dog friendly" restaurant, won't return due to this. Further to your response, My jacket fell off the back of my chair, when I picked it up it was covered in dog hair. Your website actually states that the entire pub is dog friendly. Allowing dogs into a restaurant is disgusting.

Great meal and a great atmosphere. Very welcoming and some really nice staff. Roy was our server and he was brilliant! Interacted with us all and taught us some fun games to play while we waited for our food. Would 100% recommend

Great place! All staff were very helpful & kind, Roy was very welcoming to our group and helpful. The food was great, fast service with lots of options. Great spaces to keep the children entertained with play areas inside and outside. So good we went there twice this week!

Nice family meal, prior to eldest going to university

The meals were better than the last visit, although disappointed you charge more for a carvery on a Sunday / Bank holiday. There were only 2 meats available on the carvery also as others had run out, and it appeared that many options on the menu were running out. My partner was disappointed that they ran out of Pedigree beer. Staff were lovely, service was good. We were also surprised to hear that the kitchen was closing at 8pm, at 7.30pm a member of staff was asked to contact people that had tables booked for 8.30pm, and ask them to come early as the kitchen would be closed if they didn't. Although this didn't affect us, I thought it was very unprofessional, and I would be surprised if those customers ever came back.

Amazing value carvery with decent tasty beef, hot vegetables and decent roast spuds and yorkies. Attantative friendly staff too.

Spent the day at the beach and to finish a perfect family day we stopped here as we heard really great things about the carvery, it did not disappoint, really tasty and staff were more than accommodating

Saturday late afternoon. We checked dogs were welcome. Without booking, we arrived at a barely occupied restaurant and were told there was no space for two and a dog. I am very disappointed at the lack of a "can do" attitude. We went to the Queens Head, where we had a great welcome and meal.

Didn't even get to try the food or experience the Atmosphere. We left after being abruptly spoken to by the Assistant manager.We were told that a food wasnt on the menu and that it couldn't be substituted by another item(with no apology of any kind) and also we couldn't use our bluelight discount despite it saying on the their website it can be used 7 days a week.We won't go here again
