Grand Patisserie in Torbay

OMG!!! Can’t rate the cakes here highly enough. We had afternoon tea for two. Everything was amazing especially the wonderful chocolate cherry cake. Will definitely be going again!

Was gifted some of these amazing cakes from grand patisserie and had to try a bite of each dessert ! Can proudly say each dessert was heavenly :) would definitely recommend.

Visited here a lot, just love the afternoon tea, great value for money, everything hand made. Josh is just brilliant. So talented and friendly. Tried chocolate and macarons which are also very yummy

The skill and artistic effort that go into making the most beautiful cakes and chocolates is fabulous. All to be enjoyed with really good coffee. The friendly staff and modern and bright interior go to make this place a go to visit. The cakes are really special and are enjoyed on all our celebration dates and are often bought to takeaway to enjoy at home.

Visited on a Saturday morning. Tastefully decorated simple style. Nice touches. Lots of space to breathe. Nice scent emanating . Had delicious hot chocolate. Fabulous rounded flavour. Hot and hot the spot. Ordered two raspberry tartlets with touch of gold slivers. So delicious. Full on balance of textures and flavours. To fie for and worth every penny of the £5 each. Simple delights in an atmospheric ambiance. A fab find . Many repeat visits on the cards. Great service. What more do you need

Tried twice to find out by phone-call if Grand Patisserie sold food items we could eat/enjoy, for a birthday visit. The journey to Paignton is 1hr+. So needed to know, because it's a long distance for us. The main guy spoke to my Mum, and seemed chaotic. Totally understand very busy, but we couldn't learn enough of what he sold in the patisserie. In the second phone call Mum asked him "what savoury items are you selling at the moment please?" He said "teacakes". About 7-8 months ago, I tried emailing twice to get information, but didn't receive a reply. So unfortunately, our conclusion, from our experience, is that Grand Patisserie looks amazing, but isn't reliable. We tried hard to organise a visit. Best wishes anyway, just disappointed

Was given a gift voucher for afternoon tea for two, used it today and it was absolutely fabulous, the savoury’s and tasty sandwich was beautiful, then we came to the homemade scone which was warm with plenty of cream and home made jam, then finally I had the lemon cake which absolutely gorgeous. Will go back definitely with or without gift voucher, Josh keep doing what your doing it’s fabulous .

Have just returned from the wonderful Grand Patisserie in Paignton for a birthday afternoon tea. The food was presented beautifully and tasted delicious. A definite must to visit whether you are a local or on holiday.

Had the pleasure of visiting grand patisserie for Mother’s Day. We all had the afternoon tea and it was glorious!! So delicious ! The choice of savoury and sweet options were spot on and nothing was left on the everyone’s plates. I do love a black americano coffee but it has to be a good coffee quality for me … here their coffee is VERY good and I had to have 2 coffees!! So yummy!! Can’t recommend enough .. an absolute gem of a place to visit when in Torbay.

I absolutely love the Grand Patisserie, I’ve recommended it to all my friends and now they all visit when they can too. The food is delicious and made with such care and attention. Josh the owner is really welcoming and happy to talk about what is available that day. I fully recommend the afternoon tea if you have the time to truly savour it or you can have a coffee and a petit gateau (one of the beautiful desserts in my photos). I usually can’t choose what I want so will take one home with me too!

This place is fantastic. The patisserie is excellent - beautifully crafted and taste delicious. I haven’t had anything similar outside of Paris. The owner is lovely too - he brought the children out some free marshmallows. The taste and texture were great - so different and much better than store bought marshmallows. The kids loved them. I am only disappointed that we don’t live closer!

Had afternoon tea with my daughter. Best tea I've had, lovely savories, light scones (so often they are too heavy) and the desserts are almost too beautiful to eat but they do taste as good as they look. Excellent service so nothing negative to say.

I can't say enough great things about this place. Josh's creativity is outstanding and it's honestly so hard to choose from his range of beautiful home made creations that we usually buy three at a time! The coffee is also fantastic and the staff friendly and helpful. If you're just visiting then don't miss out on a trip here for coffee and cake and if you're local - why on earth haven't you been yet? Paignton is very lucky to have something you'd expect to find in Covent Garden without the accompanying London prices.

Visited with my husband and a couple of friends to celebrate my birthday. We all had an afternoon tea. It was absolutely gorgeous. The desserts are something else. They look and taste amazing. 1000/10. Would definitely go again and recommend to everyone. Friendly, relaxing environment too. Very reasonably priced!!

This place is unique, absolutely out of this world desserts! Amazing coffee and hot chocolate. The afternoon tea is fabulous (you can get vegan afternoon tea too!) Definitely worth a visit!

Amazing patisserie s made by Josh the owner and the jam served with the scones is the best I've ever tasted !! A lovely light bright restaurant one of a kind and not to be missed

My family and I couldn't quite believe that this place exists in Paignton!! The most amazing patisserie with vegan and gluten free options. Some of the most delicious cakes we have ever tasted, excellent coffee, friendly and relaxed service and reasonable prices. What a treat! Can't recommend this place enough. They also made our little one very welcome too.

Afternoon tea - it was fantastic, I am dairy free so I was catered for really well, for the 1st I could enjoy an afternoon tea with my lovely friend, it was all brill, the bread was soft and fresh and the filling for the sandwiches was fab, the scone was fresh and warm and the dessert cake was fab, mine was vegan and it was lovely to enjoy a chocolate dessert and know I wasn’t going to pay for it by being poorly after, I will definitely be returning and letting all my friends and my clients know. Josh the chef was very friendly and the ambience and decor was clean and fresh and welcoming. A great find for all to enjoy and all a good price.

This place is on a par with Naughty but Nice in Torquay for it’s cakes. The coffee and hot chocolate are excellent too. Great spot to sit, relax and people watch. Definitely worth seeking out.

We have visited the Grand Patisserie twice and have tried different desserts both times. They have all looked exquisite and been delicious. There is such care that goes into making the desserts and the husband and wife running this establishment are so friendly. Highly recommended....
