Rooms are on the small side, excellent food and the location is fab, unfortunately no parking on site but plenty of car parks, make sure you use the car parks that you get parking concession with. I had a sea view and the outside window sill is deep and sand collects on it so when you open the window, sand blows into your room. In my opinion, the booking in procedure is too long, the queue can stretch through the foyer through the back doors. The staff are very friendly and attentive, all in all a really nice place 👍

Well I was there for a Monday to Friday week and the highs were I suppose the food was good apart from it did give me queuing up for school dinner vibes every day. The entertainment was good and the drink wasn't too overpriced a bit expensive but what do you expect really when you're on Holiday now the bad side was definitely my room so I was going with my parents they asked for two rooms on a lower level because they are both quite old and my mum isn't great with walking but we got 5th level rooms instead of what we requested and then when I got up to the floor in the elevator which was pretty much the only way too get around the hotel as it's way too big with no sense with direction the normal person would easily get lost tbh but anyways the halls also looked like they were out of the film the shinning so very inviting not and then when I got in my room it was like I was staying in a submarine the room was so small I couldn't even get to my window in it for some reason it was like a open wall and then a window very odd and all i had in my room was a bed with one pillow which wasn't enough and also just plain white bed sheets so wasn't very comfy my tv was absolutely tiny but i guess it did the job hotel wise also had brown marks on my bed aswell which was definitely questionable and i had a shower next to my bed because i guess the theme for this room was tiny and cramped you couldn't move at all in the room literally and then the bathroom one of the wooden boards creaked down as soon as i stepped on it and i weigh less than 10 stone i quickly stepped off it and decided every time I went to the bathroom i would just step over that board i also could here heavy metal music in my bathroom all the time for some reason and it wasn't mine and i had to step up to get to the toilet aswell which wasn't ideal and i mean like step up and then your at the toilet and then when i went to bed every night i could hear absolutely everything from seagulls people babies crying footsteps music so too sleep i had to try and block out all sound and the worst part was definitely the seagulls they just wouldn't shut up also you had to pay 35 pound for 5 days of WiFi when i booked it it said free wifi and instead it was 35 pound and when i informed the staff about a issue they seemed absolutely clueless like they had no clue at all and back to my room every single time someone walked on my level the hall light shined under and around my door like the Wyatt 6 entrance or something also it was way too dark at night like pure pitch black so i barley got any sleep most of the days so long story short the worst hotel i have stated at but im being kind as the food entertainment and drinks were good everything else crap

Stayed at the Grand hotel Scarborough for one night in the Easter half term holidays. Was disappointed that the room wasn't the one pictured when we booked. We stayed in a sea view family room.

Well I have to be honest about our visit to the Grand Hotel, it was really good. We called in for lunch on a Tuesday and were greeted by a lovely lady who showed us around the hotel explaining things they offer. Lunch was good at affordable prices and all staff were friendly. I'm going to try out the Sunday lunch in a couple of weeks time. Will definitely return.

The first room I got had pubic hair all over the sheets, the second room you couldn't close the window and it was ready to fall out. The staff and management are very much useless and not very helpful. I was ready to leave before being given another room around midnight. The low life that hang about outside the main front door is like a scene from a zombie movie. Such a shame as could be a nice place. The location is 5 mins from the town centre that's the only good bit too be honest. I wouldn't recommend and advise to go elsewhere.

Popular and inexpensive. You get what you pay for. We paid £59 for a double room. (The bed is actually double, so if you prefer kingsize , it is best to " double check"and pardon the pun 🤣. )an ensuite room for 2 people to share for that one price is amazing. A few niggles but nothing much. The radiator was boiling🔥 and could not be turned down or switched off. We told reception, and they promised their maintenance 🤠 man would fix it. They even told us it was fixed 🛠 when we returned after a 🚶‍♀️‍➡️🚶‍♂️‍➡️walk, but alas, it was still at 🔥 boiling point all 🥵 night. Cest la vie. And apart from the tiny 🛌 bed and the fire alarm that scared us to death😱 at 5AM. It was only a short time, but my heart took 30 minutes to stop thumping out of my chest. So very, very loud!😱. One light 💡 out of a possible 3 worked in the bathroom. But, apart from all that, everything was great 😝. What can only be expected for the 💰 money.

Terrible experience. Horrible atmosphere as soon as we walked in. The guy working there had an attitude problem, shouting at the young female waitress and telling the whole cafe that it was her second day. Had an argument with two other customers as they'd been waiting a while for two cups of tea. Even the customer said that he is stressed and he didn't like that and began arguing. Getting all the orders wrong and blaming the young waitress. Stated he is not taking anymore orders even though I'd been sat on the table and my mum ordered just before me. I had to tell him we were together. Such an uncomfortable atmosphere. How he works in hospitality/customer service is beyond me. Clearly the wrong industry. The poor staff, clearly not a very good trainer, but not his fault. AVOID as you'll only be left disappointed and leaving with a headache.

We called and booked afternoon tea for 4 people last night to have today at 2pm. I asked for a quiet area to sit as my mother is part way through chemo. We also asked for no fishy sandwiches. We arrived slightly early but I advised reception that we were here for afternoon tea, they didn’t seem to know anything about it but we were told to wait in the lounge which was no problem, we could not buy a drink as the bar wasn’t open, so we sat and waited, the manager came and said they were just preparing it and would come and fetch us when it was ready. We waited and waited and at 2.20 my father chased it up it was then brought to us in the lounge area around 2.30 and served on a coffee table with no room for it and with salmon sandwiches. I then advised that we didn’t like the salmon sandwiches so the waiter took away the whole afternoon tea and we had to wait another 15 or so minutes to come back. It’s was absolutely disgusting, apparently the scones were freshly baked and warm when in actual fact they were rock hard and stone cold and stale and looked straight out of a packet, there was barely enough cream to spread a very thin layer on some was that hard they were inedible. The white sandwiches were stale, they egg mayonnaise sandwiches were slimy and the small cakes were still frozen. I’m quite sure they forgot we were coming and threw whatever they could together. I don’t mean to be rude or nasty but the gentleman that served us was very unkept and had an awful odour. I informed reception when I paid the bill and can 100% confirm I will not be recommending or returning. This was a very disappointing as this was the first break and outing since my mother’s diagnosis, and was definitely the worse experience of afternoon tea I’ve ever encountered.

Really disappointed with our meal, I ordered a soup and was shocked, to say the least, about the portion size , literally half a bowl and when I asked the waiter if it was a mistake he replied that it was head office that control the portion size!!!! Shocking , considering I was charged £6.50 for literally 5 spoonfuls. Prices have risen so much in the last year, ridiculous! Unfortunately the pub lacks atmosphere and we won’t be back! Such a shame as we The Bay but there is a need for a decent pub whose sole purpose is not to rip you off!
