Stopped here for lunch last week. Very bright a colourful shop. Staff are friendly. Had the protein pancakes with a hot chocolate. I couldn’t believe how quickly my pancakes arrived (3-4 mins) and they weren’t your bog standard. They almost looked too pretty to eat (almost). They were very firm and didn’t fall apart when cut into. They were covered with strawberries and nuts and had cashew butter and syrup to pour on top. It was delicious. All the flavours worked so well together. One of the best pancakes I’ve had in a long time. The hot chocolate wasn’t quite on the same level. It was nice but maybe a little rich. Their sweet treats were very tempting so I went for the bounty cheesecake which is vegan and gluten free, I believe, and I also went for the jammie dodger brownie which was recommended by the member of staff. I had the cheesecake first which was tasty. However, I wouldn’t say it tasted anything like a bounty, apart from the coconut. The texture is different from your traditional cheesecake (not nearly as soft) but still nice. I asked about the base of the cheesecake and she didn’t seem too sure what ingredients were in it. The jammie dodger brownie was a great recommendation as it tasted amazing! There was a slight crisp on the outside but the inside was soft and gooey and wasn’t too sweet. Overall, I love how this cafe/restaurant is trying to be different with your favourite meals/snacks but with healthier ingredients. I’ve actually had ideas of having my own shop like this.

Another hotspot in Edinburgh and on my bucket list for vegan food , I took an early walk with my dad who is very far from vegan and he was impressed with the decor and atmosphere , we got there just as it opened and soon filled up I got the facon waffles and açai , I wanted to also order some of there savoury bowls however didn’t start making them till later on in the day , sadly when I went back they had sold out but managed to pick up a sticky bun from their sister cafe plant bae

We have been traveling around Scotland for about a month now. Today we are in Edinburgh and walked through Deen Village and ended up in the Stockbridge area. I am always on the lookout for vegan or vegan option restaurants and found Grams on google maps. It was in mid afternoon and not very busy. We had a nice conversation with the staff and got some tips on what to order from their new menu. My wife had the Mac & cheese and I ordered the burrito bowl. Both were great! The mac was spicy with a great flavor from the cashew cheese. Mine was also delicious with a good mix of refried beans, rice, avo, salsa and cashew cheese. It really didn’t tase like a “burrito” but since I live 30 min from the Mexican border, I dropped any preconceived notions of what it “should” taste like. I have to say … it was delicious! One of the staff was kind enough to share her list of Edinburgh’s vegan friendly eateries and sent me away with a bakery treat. I found the pricing to be in line with other vegan restaurants. It looks like they are open for breakfast and lunch and the menu had some great items available. Our holidays are all about experiences and meeting people. We were so happy we we had the opportunity to meet more super nice people here in Edinburgh.

Loud music, glaring pink walls and tables squashed together in this small café. Staff were friendly enough and food was a bit gimmicky, however tasted okay. It seemed filled with young people desperate for their next Instagram photo in an aesthetic café. Matcha latte was tasteless, basically drank a cup of almond milk with matcha powder sitting in the bottom. Protein pancakes were quite stodgy but the combination of yoghurt, bacon, maple syrup, banana and blueberries was good. Prices are quite high for simple brunch/lunch food. Wouldn’t come back often!

Been meaning to write a review of Grams for ages because it was just so good. We had pancakes for brunch and they were presented so beautifully on the plate it almost feels like a crime eating them. If you don't fancy pancakes there's a good, variable menu of tasty things to chose from- like poached eggs on toast. Good portion size as well. If you're lucky you might get a window seat as we did and it's just so nice to watch everyone pass by. Also conveniently across from Haymarket station. Will definitely be back for breakfast and brunch.

Visited the restaurant on the 2/2 based on instagram posts, Sat for 25 minutes until a customer at the table beside said i needed to go to the counter to order. No one came forward with any menus (though i knew what we were ordering having visited the website beforehand). I felt the girl serving the meals could have had a more present attitude, I felt she slammed the plate abruptly down on the table, Can’t fault the food it was really good and very presentable and has had a lot of attention on my instagram & Facebook from people who are interested in healthy eating/living. Had hoped to have purchased some meals to take home but there was only one left in the small fridge next to the counter so didn’t in the end. Defiantly way too small though, The amount of people who came in and went who were unable to get a table was mad (mix of rugby fans and healthy eaters), These types of restaurants are the future and are growing in popularity, I will come back though at a later date

Visited Grams for lunch yesterday after reading countless great reviews online and following the restaurant on social media for some time. In a nutshell, it was a really disappointing experience. After choosing dishes from the main menu, we were informed that they were only serving breakfast that day, despite no sign explaining this and also being within their lunch hours. Frustratingly, the breakfast menu doesn't list macros or calories - a factor which originally attracted us to the restaurant. I asked for gluten free bread - out of stock, and so had to go for the pancakes, given that they were one of the few gluten free options available. My partner then asked for the pulled pork - again, out of stock, and so chose the avocado and bacon sandwich instead. I ordered a green tea - staff were chatting amongst themselves so I was wrongly charged for this and had to query the server. Then, 15 mins later, I was advised that there was no green tea so I'd have to have macha green tea instead. Overall, not a great first impression. Low stock, average service and average food.

Visited Grams for a late brunch/lunch - it was very busy but we managed to grab a table, someone came over to give us a menu and told us to order at the counter when we were ready. I'm vegan, which can make finding brunch places a bit tricky, but Grams had a few suitable items on the menu, including smoothie bowls, avocado toast and a couple of pulled jackfruit dishes, as well as vegan cakes behind the counter. I had the pulled jackfruit slider and my friend had avocado toast. The food was tasty and well-presented - portions weren't huge, but I didn't expect them to be, and the dishes aren't too expensive for what you get. The service was ok - the staff were friendly enough but as it was busy it took quite a while for tables to be cleared, and while the food came out quite quickly, hot drinks seemed to take a while. Still, it was nice to have so many plant-based milks available, in addition to the many vegan-friendly cold drinks in the fridge. As other reviewers have mentioned, Grams doesn't have a toilet, which could be a bit of an inconvenience, and there also seemed to be more tables than there were chairs, which was odd. It would also be helpful if the cakes would be labelled with what they were and the price, as when the staff are busy it would be nice to be able to order a cake without having to ask them to spend time explaining what each of them were. Overall I'd recommend Grams though!

We visited Grams twice during a 4 day visit to Edinburgh after finding it on instagram. It is a cosy sized cafe in a great location and has a very calm and relaxing design. Our first visit was for breakfast and both my girlfriend and myself had variations of avocado on toast. Being a big fan of this dish I’ve eaten it in many other cafes but nothing has ever come close to how good it was. The presentation was immaculate and the flavours were out of this world. The whole menu is also very reasonably priced when compared to similar cafes and considering the portion sizes. Our second visit was for lunch as we were exited to try out the lunch menu, and it did not disappoint. I ordered a dish called ‘holy coly’ (pictured below) and it was incredible on presentation and even better on flavour. The staff were very attentive and made the atmosphere extremely welcoming. This was definitely a highlight of our trip and I cannot wait to come again. Could not rate it highly enough.

Been here several times for lunch, choosing the vegan options each time. A filling, healthy, good sized plate of the jackfruit dish looked promising but sadly rather lacking in much flavour to be honest, other than the sauce which didn’t compliment it very well. My meat eating companion thought the same of his vegetarian dish sadly. Nice people and a nice little cafe but perhaps the meat dishes are getting better reviews. Sorry, it’s got a lot better options from a vegetarian or vegan point of view as it stands in Edinburgh.

I first found Grams on Instagram earlier on in the year and I had been looking forward to on our next trip to Edinburgh. We went on a friday around midday for brunch/lunch. The place was pretty busy, but we managed to find a free table. There were empties on the table, which we ended up having to clear ourselves because the service was so slow. Grams is a small place, but would benefit from more than one front-of-house member of staff. There are no printed menus, I presume because the menu varies quite a lot. There's a board with today's options. When the queue had died-down a bit, my partner went to order - we had a couple of hot drinks (cappuccino and an early grey tea) and we both had avocado and poached eggs on toast. It was expensive - the avocado on toast was reasonably priced, but by the time you've added the additional charge for the eggs on top, the price has rocketed up to around £8. The hot drinks were also overpriced. It took ages for us to get our hot drinks (nearly as long as the food). Again this is attributable to the fact that one staff member is definitely not enough to run the till and make the hot drinks. When the food eventually came, it was bland to say the least. Most of the plate was made-up of salad leaves. The avocado was in-fact guacamole on toast, which was sprinkled too liberally with green chilli - which made the dish very hot. The eggs were cold and had clearly been cooked in vinegar, which left a horrible after-taste. No one also came round to see how the food was half-way through the meal. We left feeling full up, but seeking some more tasty food. Overall, I think this place is style over substance. The service was slow, verging on lazy. It was expensive - definitely overpriced for what you get. It was quite frankly bland and boring. We will not be returning. There are so many great places to eat in Edinburgh - don't waste your time or money on this place. Avoid!!

Food looks amazing and tastes delicious! I had pulled pork with rice and salad. Although it didn't look like there was a lot of pork in it I was actually full after eating. Meal felt well balanced. It was mildly spiced with green chilli. My husband had a steak salad and was also very happy with his choice. We had tap water which was infused with mint leaves. Very cute and environmental friendly. I've read on some reviews that broccoli was served raw, ours was very tasty and cooked to perfection. Very relaxed atmosphere. Perfect for a quick lunch or friends catch up after a work out. Prices - we though they were very well priced. All ingredients were fresh and both meals had well balance nutritions.Wish I was local and could eat here more often!

Popped in around 3 and got a nice coffee and good, healthy poached egg on toast. Good place for snack, but shame it shuts at 4 otherwise I would pop in after work.

A fine place to get healthy, clean, and fresh food. Really pleasant and fresh, friendly staff giving it a great experience. Go here, not the chain coffee shops! Good coffee, plus they do almond milk +++

The food here was so yummy and the fact they cater to vegans is just wonderful! They serve their breakfast menu all day which is great because we took longer than expected to get out! The member of staff I dealt with was really nice. I feel like the other reviews on here are undeserved, I know everyone has different experiences but this place deserves a much better rating! Give it a go I'm certain you won't regret it! - They are also open on Sundays even though it says on here that they aren't! Enjoy!

First of all, this café allows dogs. We were passing by and liked the look of the menu and asked if we could take our small dog inside. That was no problem, and that is how they have probably gained two loyal customers. We had breakfast for two: one avocado on toast and one bacon sandwich. Quite simply: excellent. Couldn't be bettered. Fresh and tasty with pleasant service. We will be back.

This cafe is absolutely amazing with regards to food, it is really healthy and all. Raw vegan vegetarian healthy. But having no customer toilet is crap..I mean it is a restaurant, cafe wit seats, you can eat in and have your coffee in. IT NEEDS A CUSTOMER TOILET!!! Than it will be a spotless place.

Great place to eat, especially if looking for a healthy alternative! Whole family found something they liked on the menu. I personally track my macros and was super handy to have the exact macros already on the menu for me to track!

We visited Grams for some food on a Saturday around lunch time, the place wasn't busy at all around 4 other customers seated. However the person working the counter was more interested in Socialising than giving any form of greeting or service! We spent around 10 minutes waiting for him to finish conversing before we could find out wether it was table or counter service. We then placed our order and it arrived well presented, my partner had the soup though it tasted nice it was extremely watery! I opted for the Breakfast it was very nice and filling.Unfortunately the major down fall for Grams was the ignorance and lack of service from the staff!

I have popped in for a spot of lunch and the food was a treat. Lovely, healthy salad with marinated grilled steak, it was absolutely yummy. The mushroom soup was not the best, but nice and hot. All the food on the menu sounded delicious, imaginative, with lots of fresh veg. Would definitely come back here. As for the service, well, room for improvement. At the first attempt I got a dirty set of cutlery and I could not find napkin or salt and pepper.

Great for anyone looking for something healthy yet tasty. Caters particularly for those who are gluten free with a variety of meals, sweet items, as well as drinks. Quite small inside but takeaway is available too. The staff are friendly and helpful.

I only had a soup because it was so cold outside but it was absolutely delicious ! Lentil, carrot and ginger! You really need to try it out! As it is a small place it does not have a huge menu but they make everithing themselfs and the price is not bad. Meal deal was on the menu £5.5 for a soup and a wrap. They even have a few vegetarian and a couple of vegan dishes... loved it.

Thank you again to the Grams team for making thee most amazing selection of mini vegan cakes for my sisters birthday party over the holidays. Not only do they taste delicious but they are beautifully presented too. Couldn't recommend more highly 👌🏼

Super Yummy soup and cake slice. They recommend that you tell them your allergy so they can accommodate, however the writer didn't seem particularly fussed. However, the food was great.

I have been here a few times and purchased their gorgeous dairy-free raw organic cakes at various markets and cafes round the city, and breakfast on Saturday certainly lived up to my expectations. The avocado on toast with poached eggs and its beetroot dressing that has a slight kick to it is definitely something I'm going back for again...soon! Fresh, tasty and healthy food at good prices.

Went for lunch with my friend and it was delicious! The selection of cakes and bars was great and its cool to see that they are all raw and whatever. I didnt have one but i have since bought the raw snickers in Real Foods and enjoyed it immensely! Lovely coffee with almond milk too! And the peppermint tea was super minty and lush. The only thing was that someone behind me seemed to be suffering from a nut allergy and the paramedics were called! But i myself was greatly impressed and will return :)

Loved my visit to Grams. Jumped off the tram at Haymarket and it was right there. Great selection of veggie food. Mine came picture perfect and tasted even better. Coffee was brilliant too. And the cake. Wow. I had a matcha one which was incredible. I've had the snickers bar before too which is so so good. I'm back in Edinburgh in a few weeks and this is number one on my list of places to re-visit!

I dropped in here one lunchtime as a friend had uploaded some cake photos on social media and it looked amazing. There was a nice selection, unless you have a nut allergy then you will just have to starve. The portions were pretty small for what you get. I essentially paid £4 for 3 bites of a cake. I mean it tasted alright and it looked very pretty but I can get an entire lunch for that price. My friend got the raw snickers and I have never seen anyone so disappointed in my entire life. It was so gooey she found it difficult to eat and said it tasted like feet. I don't know if this is an accurate description as I have never eaten feet and after she said that I declined her kind offer of a taste.

My friend and I visited here for lunch today after searching for a cute cafe near Haymarket. We both love sweet potato and feta which featured heavily on their menu so decided to head along on a whim. The place is decorated very cool and minimalist and we got a lovely bright table in the window. The staff were very friendly and happy to recommend things to us. We both had the baked sweet potatoes which were massive portions and and with lots of interesting little sides in the bowl. I had a cold so only wish I could have tasted more! I had a smoothie which was also nice and a coffee later on. They brought round little tasters of two of their cakes for us too which was a nice little touch. My only recommendation is perhaps to have more cold drink options but other than that great wee healthy find :)

As a regular traveller to Haymarket for Business I have struggled to find both dairy and Gluten free food , no more as the Nakd eating experience has solved that problem and having visited the place on three occasions I feel able to say firstly; thank you for whoever thought about the idea and choosing directly across from the venue I visit most. and secondly, what tasty and safe food they provide . I was in sheer ecstasy to be told when I asked about allergies , not to worry all the delicious looking cakes are safe and there was a wide selection of healthy allergy friendly food. A bit pricey but worth it.Service is very good also

Had a lovely avocado on toast there but for £5.75 I only got one small piece of sourdough with avocado on it and a small side salad. The presentation was lovely but I felt pretty unsatisfied afterwards. There is the option of adding bacon and eggs ( for more money) but for someone who's vegan, my options were limited. The only things on the menu were granola, smoothie bowls and avocado toast. I think a couple of more things on the menu couldn't hurt. I enjoyed my breakfast but I think the place is trying a little too hard to be hipster

Visited (via the tram, the stop is just outside) on a weekday lunch time. Ordered a chicken hot lunch box to go and a cake. Both delicious! Great to find a healthy place for lunch. It was just shy of £10 for both items which I felt was a little expensive but okay for a once in a while treat. I understand why it is the price it is though, healthy ingredients are not cheap to come by!

Visited Grams for lunch and wasn't disappointed. I had the baked sweet potato with pulled chicken and it looked and tasted amazing. In my opinion Edinburgh has been crying out for a place like this, somewhere that provides tasty heathy food! Can't wait to go back for one of their cakes which also looked incredible.

This has becom my new local as its opposite where I work. The salads are all delicious and come with a sauce on the side. Loved the avocado on sourdough for brunch and had to try the cakes - they are as good as they look. Nice friendly staff - not eaten in but takeaway always been really good and admired by other members of staff!!

We stopped for coffee and cake; the menu was so enticing we decided on a beef salad, it was amazing. Had a snickers cake, it needs to get all the credit, has to be tried. Really pleasant staff. Loved it.

Just had wonderful breakfast of avocado and egg on toast. The staff here have attention to detail and presentation Beautifully plate of sour dough toast, delicious avocado and poached egg. All served with multi-coloured beetroot, salsa and beetroot purée. Looked and tasted spectacular. Daughter had granola and yoghurt to go, with a tasty smoothie. Their cake display is a beautiful - cakes home-made with natural ingredients. Salads just appearing, as they are made, have same attention to detail and you can choose from a selection of dressings . Service is very friendly To go or eat-in , highly recommend. So glad I popped in here.
