Gourmet Republik has only been open a few months; yet, during that time, they've built up a following that compelled us to give them a visit. The place itself is aesthetically pleasing with impressive decor that includes a uniquely quirky lavatory. The restaurant shows great promise, having certainly nailed the poultry side of things, with superb chicken wings and a deliciously marinated grilled chicken, and some tremendous lamb chops. However, and in our considered opinion, while the burgers were decent, they need some refinement if Gourmet Republik is to seriously challenge the best gourmet Halal burgers currently out there. We came here for Mother's Day. It looked like a diner, whereas the website looks very fancy. I didn't expect this but still I felt like it was a decent place. I'd go with friends but not for a special occasion. The menu online is not the menu they provide as it's limited to a few things compared to the online one which is what attracted me in the first place. This disappointed me a lot. But the food was nice. Maybe not 109% worth the price but somewhat worth it. I'd go again but there were a few downsides.

I'm sorry to say we've just had a very disappointing meal and experience at Gourmet Republik. I thought I'd treat my partner to a special wagyu burger after reading the reviews but it was nothing special at all and neither of us enjoyed our meals. It started on a bad note when the waitress didn't reply to our "hellos" at all and didn't even acknowledge us- she just put the menus on the table and walked away. My partner chose the £15.95 wagyu burger and I chose the £6.95 cod burger as I don't eat meat. The sides of fries and onion rings cost extra- you don't get any chips with your £15.95 burger! The best thing about the meal sadly was the spicy dipping sauce for the fries, the rest of it was very poor. My cod burger looked and tasted like a mcdonalds fillet of fish and I was starving so I ate it. The wagyu burger was "just ok but nothing at all special and tasted like a £7 burger" according to my partner. The waitress took our plates away but again didn't talk to us. When I went to pay the bill the chef asked if the meal was ok, I said "it was ok but not great" and he shrugged and handed me the card machine. We won't be going back again and it's a real shame as my partner is a burger fanatic and this is right on our doorstep.

Had their smoked chicken burger and sweet potato chips... Very nicely done... And light on the wallet! Great and relaxing atmosphere with AC... All made a nice experience. Kids adored their kids burger meals. Easy parking nearby. And I loved the empty plates served nice & warm! Didn't have space to try a desert though...

First time visiting gourmet republik and what can I say excellent food best restaurant I would say in Walthamstow, lovely staff, super clean and loved the music x will deffo be back x

Went down with a group of friends to try out the latest Gourment burger joint in town. It did not disappoint! Everything from the décor, seating, service and food was top notch and more familiar in West London than in East. The lamp chops and wings were on point but you try the there Angus beef burgers - out of this world!. To top it off I had their delicious biscoff milkshake. Will definitely be coming back with family.

I'm not a massive fan of burger joints. We came here a week ago and I must say I was pleasently surprised. The burger was lovely though the cajun chips were over seasoned a bit. Hubby had the chicken and said he would have preferred it a bit most but enjoyed it all the same. We will definitely come back.

Been here twice in a span of a week and I can really vouch for the food they serve here. This place is close to my workplace so very convenient. If visiting, don't miss the sweet potato fries they serve, its amazing! I have tried the veggie supreme burger as well and does'nt disappoint! Service could be a bit faster though. In all, a good choice of place to eat on Forest Road.

Having been to Gourmet Republik a few times I would say it is a great place to go and dine with friends and family. The atmosphere is pleasant and staff are very professional and deliver a friendly service. The food was amazing especially the chicken, mash and coleslaw. On all visits to date it seems the food ordered has been made using fresh ingredients which definitely comes through in the taste. My kids have enjoyed eating at the restaurant and now keep asking when we will be going back. Keep up the good work. Writing this review and recalling the overall experience has made me want to go back there right now!!

I have visited this establishment several times since its opening. I have found the staff welcoming and attentive on each occasion. I have seen some of the negative reviews about this place and I am pleased I have not experienced anything during my visits to tarnish the place with a 1 or 3 star rating as some have rather harshly left. My only comment would be on the waiting times for some dishes, that said It has not deterred me from going back. Try the milkshake!

After reading some of the rave reviews I came on Saturday with my friends to try this restaurant out. Everyone else tried the burgers and were full of praise but I'm a chicken lover so I gave the quarter chicken a try with spicy rice. It was so tasty and tender with a fresh salad and coleslaw. I really loved the flavour of the spicy chicken and the biscoff milkshake was sooo delicious. Will be defo be going back again and will have to take my mum, she will love the grilled chicken.

So me and my sister decided to visit as we live quite close to the restaurant. As soon as we walked in the waiters welcomed us with warm smiles and the restaurant was so well decorated it was such a nice atmosphere . I had the classic cheese burger and my sister has the 3 mini burgers I have to say it was all so delicious and the sweet potato chips were amazing We both really enjoyed our meals we both had the biscoff milkshake to end the evening and it was so yummyyyy would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a nice family meal out !!!

I visited this place with a group of friends on a Thursday night surprising not busy and got chatting to one of the proprietors (Ifti). Nice chap he thew in the starters Buffalo Wings, Sweet and Sticky wings tasty as well as free... :) I asked him about the menu and specifically what he recommended. He mentioned the Wagyu Burger. Having never heard or tried it before I ordered it. No regrets, it was delicious! According to Wikipedia ......Wagyu is any of four Japanese breeds of beef cattle, the most desired of which is genetically predisposed to intense marbling and to producing a high percentage of oleaginous unsaturated fat. In summary if you are looking for freshly cooked gourmet burgers this is the place to visit.

After reading all those positive reviews I came to conclusion that there must be some bias going on in them. I have visited this restaurant for the second time cause I believe in second chances but sloppy food and not attentive and lazy-slow service is what make this restaurant. I feel that they have invested some money in decoration but there is not particular style, space filled with random stuff that doesnt make sense. It is a "Wanna be cool" type of a restaurant where they cook 90% from frozen but they call them selves a chefs, and claim that they make a hand cut fries. Yes, they buy them at Costco- frozen in a bag. As well as scampi, onion rings and their chicken tenders taste like if you lick a salt rocks!!! My baked chicken tasted like the cheapest meat on the market straight from the cage chicken farm with a extra added BLACK HAIR in it which when I complained about it, the waitress said that she can do nothing about it now cause the "chef" was on the break. When I spoke to the "chef" he denied it was his mistake. I have never met more ignorant staff than in this restaurant. I have ordered food for 80P and I wouldnt ask for a free meal when i took my family there. And also, we got drinks after our starters and when we asked the glasses the waitress rolled her eyes and brought us dirty glasses and we didnt have patience anymore so we just drank from the straw. Burgers were tasteless and tough, no juicy as they say when presenting the menu, got it with the coleslaw bought from tesco - same one that i get but triple the price for the portion. Lamb chops were burned and mash potato hot on the surface and cold in the middle. I guess that they were NOT PROPERLY MICROWAVED. And also, desserts tastes like being previously frozen cause they were dry on the corners and watery around them, or they might not cleaned the plates right? Who knows?! I wont be coming back to find out.
