Made the mistake of attempting to eat the fish and chips before reading all the terrible reviews that have come before. If have to say that I agree with many of the negative views, especially comments that that it was somehow almost uniformly disgusting in every way. A total waste of £19.70 for 2fish and chips. Awful.

Oh my goodness!! That food was absolutely rank. Please don't serve our English food again. Dry chips a bit of fish that tasted like flat tasteless rubbish

Was very disappointed, the guy overcooked the chips, because he was too busy taking telephone orders, they also tasted stale. We couldn't continue eating them and they ended up in the bin. Such a waste of money. Will never ever go to this place again. On a brighter note though, our pies were very nice, but who can mess up a microwave pukka pie

After using this take-away for many years, we will no longer be doing so after our most recent order. The food is of a good quality in our opinion. However on a number of occasions now we have either spoken to a female member of staff who is totally unable to understand English, or a rude male member of staff. He was extremely rude during our most recent order on the telephone. There are much better Chinese takeaway establishments in Salisbury who are far more helpful and friendly when placing an order and we will be using one of those in the future.

Just awful. We ordered a takeaway, which was delivered. The website menu was out of date and we ended up having to more than we expected when the bill was calculated. £34.80 for: 1) crispy egg noodle with duck; 2) Japanese udon noodles with mixed meat; 3) Szechuan shredded crispy chicken; 4) stir fried mixed vegetables. No 1 was unpalatable, fatty and virtually inedible. No 2 was a congealed mess, No 3 was swimming in a watery, fatty sauce - hardly crispy chicken. No 4 was yucky, the mushrooms being reminiscent of flattened slugs. We would not recommend. I have used this takeaway for over thirty years, and it is now well past it’s sell by date.

Having ordered fish and chips I made the mistake of touching a horizontal surface, it was tacky to touch because of a historical layering of airborne grease. The oil used to fry the chips was old and the chips appeared to be oven chips. The fish was put in the fryer before it had heated up properly. The result was chips that tasted of old oil with a texture of cardboard and fish had just crisped on the outside but the batter on the inside was soggy with the fish barely cooked at best. The worst take away I have ever had..

The food here is great and great portion size and always delivers to your door nice and hot this is a great Chinese and don’t set your heart on what u see in review because Theese have been here many years and great food

Ordered Mou Shu Chicken, Black Bean Sauce with mixed veg and King Prawn fried rice. Arrived much quicker than we expected and food was very good. Reasonably priced.

This the best Chinese takeaway in the area. The food is absolutely superb. Highly recommend. The only problem I have, it’s a 1 hour 30 round trip. Please come to Marlborough

I looked at the reviews after I had ordered, but I really didn't need to worry. The food was delivered very quickly so still hot, the delivery driver was excellent, the food was beautiful, very tasty and well presented. Yes I will be ordering again while in the area. Probably one of the best Chinese meals we've had. Thank you

I have been using the Wilton Fish bar for Chinese food for over 10 years. I have found the delivery service very good. Whilst it’s not the very best Chinese food I have ever had. It has been consistently very good. The portion sizes are good it is always hot and fresh and I have never encountered bad service, fatty bits or hairs in my food. I would highly recommend them and I have found the poor reviews surprising and at odds with my experiences. I have never had the fish and chips so can’t comment on that. Overall good value for money.

I ordered multiple items off the menu the other day and NOTHING was even remotely edible!! The amount of grease was astronomical! Never seen anything like it in my entire life Similarly, the price was an utter joke, and the service on the phone was also laughable, simply rude. I can’t believe this place is still open, the resembled something you’d have seen on kitchen nightmares, and to be honest that’s is an understatement! The food should probably come with a health warning!!

We've lived in the area 12 years and have been getting takeaway delivered by GOWFB all that time. Its very convenient, the prices are reasonable and the food is good. Yes, it doesn't look great and the staff are obviously a bit abrupt but, frankly I don't care because when you want a good, tasty chow mein, its a great place to go. I've noticed the comments about hairs and given we have had approx 55 meals from them with no problem, some people are just unlucky it seems.

Had a takeaway from here last night, served by grumpy staff with no manners and after a half hour wait got home to find we had been given inedible rubbish.Chicken chow mein consisted of noodles with almost no chicken, few bits of onion and two bean sprouts could easily have done better at home. Chicken in black bean sauce was a gongealed mess. Both of us had dicky tummies overnight.Don’t bother going there we won’t be back and will tell all our friends to avoid.

This fish and chip shop and Chinese takeaway has been in Wilton for many years and despite a change of ownership remains somewhere you can always rely on for good quality, interesting food. Their enormous menu includes not only Chinese but Malaysian, Indonesian, Japanese and Thai dishes. Everything is delicious.

Went there yesterday to get our tea as our usual was surprisingly closed and I simple wished I hadn't. Now I know from a chippy is going to be fried food but it was extremely greasy. The chips was more like deep fried mash potato that was drowned in vinegar. Apparently I was given a large portion of chips that could only just serve two small kids and an adult leaving me with none? The fish was overcooked and to top it off, I spent most of the night with stomach cramps and feeling sick. My kids have been up most of the night because they were so thirsty. Obviously there is a high amount of salt in their food.

A very extensive menu, the food is always very well cooked and tastes fantastic. There are many takeaways closer but this one is always worth the drive. (They do deliver too)Great food and friendly staff.

i find it incredible that there is a 5* review on here about wilton fish bar! On the 2 occasions that we have used this take away and had food delivered, both times we have found a disgusting long thick black wirey hair in the food, and both times the food has been thrown out and wasted. i vowed never to go there again after the 1st time, but my daughter insisted it would be fine and the first time was just unlucky.....she couldnt believe it when she pulled one out as well. not sure whats going on in that kitchen but we will never eat from there again.

This has been my favorite Chinese takeaway for 20 years. They have the largest vegetarian/vegan menu I have ever seen anywhere in the world (even at solely vegetarian/vegan places). The menu is pages and pages with tofu and vegetable options on almost everything they have. After all these years, I still haven't had a chance to try even half the options. A couple of my favorites are Asparagus & Pine Nuts in Olive Sauce, Thai Rice Paper Baskets and Cantonese Lettuce Parcel. I didn't eat Chinese food for many years until I tried this place and I've never looked back.
