Gourmet China Cook in Lambeth

Customers over 20 years. First time ringing up to complain the food is cold. The chicken noodle soup was disgusting! But the owner has the audacity to argue with her long time loyal customers, instead of having a good will gesture of customer service! Very poor behaviour!

Best Chinese around. Well worth making the effort to go and collect. Such good value and delicious food.

I've been going to this take away for at least the last 15 years and it serves great food. I've never had any problems with quality. Recommended if you're looking for a good Chinese take away. Staff are always friendly. Looks like they're taking social distancing measures seriously too.

We’ve had food from these guys many times because we live locally. They are really lovely, prompt, the food is super tasty and plentiful. You can really tell gentrification hasn’t quite hit streatham common because their food costs about half as much as an equivalent takeaway in Clapham, where the portions would be smaller. Be advised though, it’s cash only, no delivery and it can get properly busy on Friday and Saturday nights, so call ahead!

Every time I stop off in London I always make a D-tour to this Chinese best Chinese I’ve tasted all my life the staff are to polite, everything is hot & very clean Chinese takeaway defo recommend. My body calls for it 😂 if you ever come to London seriously stop off here and get some delicious food!! I don’t like sweet and sour sauce but the sweet& sour chicken is to die for 😍😍

Tasty food, generous portions. Be prepared, it is very popular so may be worth phoning ahead to order. They do not deliver, but that does not stop the public coming back for more!

I have been going to Gourmet China Cook for years, and this is the only Chinese food that I honestly can say that I enjoy eating. I’ve even been to China town restaurants and they are no comparison to this restaurant. The lady knows me and my husband by name and we usually order the set menus which are great value for money for a family, they are also very accommodating if you request to change a dish on the set menu as my husband does not eat pork. The food is absolutely amazing and it’s not too oily or salty. You can see when they are cooking the food and I am impressed by their hygiene. Overall this is a fantastic take away restaurant with great food and welcoming staff.

Ordered a takeaway from Gourmet China Cook after friends recommended it. Good tasty Chinese food not gourmet but good. Best Chinese takeaway I found in South London. Really busy popular takeaway with locals. Food ready within 20 minutes. Really polite lady took and gave me my order. Will definitely buy a takeaway from them again. Food can be ordered and paid for by phone.

I have ordered take away from here for years. My staple dishes are the spicy Singapore noodles and x4 vegetarian spring rolls. On this particular occasion the food was very average. I don't know if it's because I ordered at 4pm opposed to later, but the seasonings and flavourings were just not as they used to be. The noodles were quite bland and had no spice to them at all. I also ordered chicken in satay sauce and the sauce was runny and the chicken not as nice as it usually is. I was very disappointed. I shall however give it one more chance to redeem itself in the future and hope that this was just a fluke.

We always use this chineese when visting. Always spot on and tastes great with a decent portion size. The lady serving is always very friendly and you can see the food being cooked....

This is my local and I have been going to this Chinese takeaway for many years now and for as long as i remember the food is always the best quality. I really could not go to another takeaway shop as this one is always exceptionally good. The lady at the desk is always polite and friendly and very professional! The food is excusite you have to go there to see for yourself and I am sure you will be a regular customer!

I haven't been for awhile, but dropped in for some good takeaway. Still remembered by the lady who takes the orders. Quality and order size still good.

Despite having a Chinese takeaway at the end of our street, we still are willing to walking a mile to go to this place. It is hands-down the best Chinese takeaway I have found - just a shame they don't currently open on Sundays.

A family run business which I have enjoyed regularly for many years! Only once have we had a less than satisfactory meal but as their standards are so high that's not such a black mark!! We look forward to every time we sample their wares!! Try them & I'm sure you will be in total agreement with our assessment!!!!

Ha habido un pequeño aumento de precio, pero nada descabellada. Creo que mi plato típico fuimos hasta por 10 Pence. Todavía porciones generosas, picante y como me gusta. Maravillosamente cálida y amistosa actitud por la mujer que lleva mi pedido. Espero que mantiene a este nivel, siempre.

Me parece que te dan porciones más que muchos otros, pero con una buena calidad. Hay un precioso, materna china mujer detrás del mostrador, que lleva a las órdenes. Ella me reconoce como cliente habitual y recuerda mi orden habitual. Prefiero mi comida picante extra y hacen que esa manera para mí, sin cobraron más. Cuando me dan arroz de amigo, me dieron un montón de chili aceite caliente en la parte superior, como me gusta. Toda la comida no es caliente, especifique cómo se quiere y parece que nuestro objetivo es complacerle. En contraste, una comida para llevar cerca de donde vivo, en Bracknell, sólo me da chili aceite por un cargo adicional. Otro cerca me no ofrece chili aceite, incluso para un cargo. Gourmet China cocinar no tomar crédito o tarjetas de débito, que es uno de los pocos inconvenientes. El otro gran inconveniente es que no abren los domingos. Con una parada de autobús fuera, es muy fácil de encontrar, servido por las rutas 60 y 118 de autobús. Es en diagonal al otro lado sudoeste de Streatham Common estación. Si viene en coche, hay gratis, aparcamiento en la calle en una calle lateral. Se puede llamar con antelación, así que puedes pedir estará listo para la recogida, o simplemente suba, como a mí.
