Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK) in Greenwich

Was here a couple of weeks and was really good for the money..enjoyed my burger and the staff were friendly. Good value for money.

We had such a good time here it was so fun, excellent food, great prices and amazing service, especially from Ollie. Will definitely be coming back!

We ordered from Greenwich GBK via Just Eat. Half the order was missing and the other half was cold. Rather than helping us sort this out, GBK abdicated responsibility and said we could only arrange a refund via Just Eat. We didn't want a refund, we wanted our order fulfilled and hot food delivered. Incredibly disappointed.

Food was amazing! However we came in and went to the till to order, whilst ordering the manager on shift started shouting at one of his staff members right in front of us just when we are about to pay. It was a very awkward experience and we just wanted to get out of there quickly, also apologising to the waitress on the managers behalf because she was bright red and embarrassed as you can imagine!! I just think it was very unprofessional and props to the waitress for handling it so well. Staff should never get shouted at especially in front of customers. This is not a way to conduct a business.

Very blunt, short handed and rude staff member

Burgers were cremated. Won't get business from me ever again. Absolutely foul. They can't even cook a burger, the one thing they're meant to do! Do yourself a favour and go to honest burger instead.

Teddy was the most understanding patient person, me and my friend came in wondering what to eat dispute us being in a rush. They knew what to recommend and reassured us we’d like it & I’d come in time. Oh boy did we! Great Employee.

We chose this spot as we were in a hurry and just needed something to eat quickly! Unfortunately we didn’t check the reviews until it was too late. The service was incredibly slow, we waited for 25 minutes for our food and when we ordered, we were the only ones in the restaurant! Very small portions for the price paid, and not very tasty. The chips were the best part of the meal. The burger meat was not hot when we received our burgers. Will not be visiting this restaurant again and unfortunately would not recommend at all.

Generally the franchise has been going downhill for years with less options available, smaller portions and falling service quality. My last experience at this particular one was especially unpleasant with most staff chatting, on the phone, and generally not working. After ordering and waiting 20min chased to find out the 'chef' had not checked for tickets and had not started cooking. After chasing, the food was however cooked fast and the waitress did apologise. Shame, but probably explains why the place was half empty which was only silver lining if you don t mind a place with no atmosphere Blue cheese burger remains on the menu and is good/ would recommend

Already knowing gbk is a great place for burgers, we tried honest burger down the road and walked out after waiting to be served. Check my review for that. Came to our tried and trusted, ordered the taxi driver and a portion of fries with a coke, left totally satisfied, quick service and hot food, burger was made perfectly so much so my friend went to thank the chef. Defo never going honest burger over gbk.... Ever

Not the greatest. Ordered our food - the waiting staff had to be reminded twice of the items we ordered that they neglected to bring to the table - so the order was brought piece meal over a span of 15 minutes by a laissez faire waitress. Food was mediocre - unsalted chips, horrible coleslaw, burger was ok. Toilets were not clean. Hand dryer busted. Keep walking if you see this place - you deserve better

Sadly walked into the restaurant with mop and bucket in the entrance and a table with spray and a cloth… wasn’t a welcoming vibe so left.

Very slow service but the food was very good, I got a burger and it was delicious. The place was very empty considering the area was very busy, and there were only two toilets, one of which had no toilet paper. Overall, very nice food but I’m not sure I will come back.

Very dirty restaurant, the food was terrible. No standard whatsoever. Kids' chicken burger were burned and taste like wood . We didn't eat it. Service wasn't helpful. £55 to the bin. Shame.

Ordered from Uber, as I do at least 2/3 times a week. Usually food is great. Unfortunately last few orders weren’t that good. Today’s one was the worst. Burgers completely burnt, black like charcoal, hard and over cooked fries. Quality goes down and it’s sad.

Excellent burger very juicy and cooked perfectly to my liking. It was so good that I can't wait to come back. We only had takeaway but the gentleman behind the counter was very friendly and helpful.

not what it used to be back in 2018-2019. The price per burger is steep while the portion is small. The bun seems like one from a pack of 6 for £1, not toasted. The onion rings had almost no onion and the drinks were not fizzy like they used to. They also used to have the cute tomato shape ketchups, seasoned salt, chilly sauce and nuts for free. None of that is available now, just store bought condiments. This place has a very "sadly closing" vibe. Used to love to come here..

ROTTEN avocado that smelled like it was taken form the trash. How can you people be so ignorant? How can you treat food like this???? How can you treat your customers like this?? This is NOT a mistake, this clearly reflects your health standards....no half-brain human would allow a rotten, awful smell food to be sold. you are disgusting!!! SHAME on you 20£ out the window...if you would have served me this in the restaurant, I would have asked who was responsible for it, and threw it in their face

Among the disadvantages of the this establishment, I would like to not small portions of food and its dubious taste while being quite expensive and not very clean tables and toilet. Among the advantages are smiling waiters 🤗

I came here with friends for dinner and service was terrible. Our drinks took so long to arrive, our food took 40 minutes. Other people who arrived after us had their food delivered before us. They seem understaffed or badly managed but definitely not worth the price. Couple next to us has to complain about their burger. Another table sent another dish always and another one a drink. I would avoid this place. Loads of nicer places nearby!

Cuando estábamos sentados no sabiamos que se podía pedir a través de un QR tras un rato nos dijeron que a ver si sabiamos que se podia pedir a si o si queriamos que nos atendieran. Tras pedir, vino un camarero a decirnos que se habian quedado sin agua sin gas y que haber si queriamos otra cosa traa pedirles unas Coca-Colas (mas caras) se hicieron cargo del suplemento. La comida muy buena, pedimos los aros de cebolla que estaban bastante buenos y las hamburguesas estaban muy buenas.

Al principio no sabíamos que se pide mediante un QR que hay en la mesa, al rato vinieron y como no habiamos pedido aún nos lo explicaron. Una vez pedido todo, nos dijeron que no quedaba agua y que si preferíamos otra cosa, pedimos unas Coca-Colas (bastante más caras) y se hicieron cargo de la diferencia de precio. Las hamburguesas estaban muy buenas, con mucho sabor. Otro punto a favor es que te dejan elegir la cantidad de propina que quieres dar, mientras que en otros lados que hemos ido automáticamente te cobran el 12,5% extra.

Used to be a proper gourmet burger place, not anymore. Doesnt deserve to call it gourmet. Burgers arrived cold, dry much smaller portion then before. A pub serves a better quality burger these days. Curly skin on fries horribly quality as well not like before. Overall it was a massive disappointment never coming back anymore. It is sad how the quality dropped massively.

The beef patty we ordered medium well and it was well done. The chicken was burned on the grill. The staff was friendly but mostly in the kitchen and not attending their 5 costumers.

Service from Charlie today was 10 10, not only that there was a small issue with food which was resolved instantly with care and the chef personally came over to hand the next batch over which was fantastic

Restaurant decor is outdated. Very slow and poor service. Staff require more training. I ordered 2 oreo milkshakes and was given 2 vanilla milkshakes. I sent them back and received the ones again with bits on oreo crushed on top of the vanilla milkshake - RIDICULOUS.

Staff were very nice, hence a a probably generous rating. Burger was burnt, dry and well done... from a medium rare order, complete with medium rare flag in it. Both I & the person on the next table sent their orders back. A step back from GBK experiences in previous years.

The manager allowed his own stresses to come across as rudeness when directing us to a table. Dude: people come to your place for a nice relaxing meal. Rein it in. The waiters are polite and friendly, but lack training on what the offers are, details of the menu, etc. Food came out at very different times, which says the service is at the kitchen’s convenience rather for than the customers’ experience.

Burgers were delicious, stuff was friendly.

Ordered a glass of red wine and there were ice cubes in it. When I pointed this out to the server he responded "is that a problem?". I said that red wine should be served at room temperature and he then said that the person who poured the wine maybe thought it was too hot so put ice in it. After a bit of discussion I was offered a replacement and then when the that arrived it was 100% definitely the same glass of wine as it was cold. Also the burger was definitely not worth the £11.50 price tag. Safe to say I won't be back to this or any other GBK restaurant.

We've had a late lunch at GBK, the vanilla shake and sweet fries were really good, lemonade and burgers okay (bun felt a bit on the lower side, but the filling and chicken were good). The service we've really liked, they were nice and payed extra attention for any allergies we had, which is a big plus as we have a gluten intolerant in our group. Prices were kinda high but as far as I can tell pretty average for the neighborhood, payed a total of 53 GBP for a 3 person lunch with drinks.

First place I've ever come across which let's you have a burger with no bun without judgement looks, food was top class

Tasty and juicy burgers, just as I have remembered from 15 years ago! If I visit UK again I will definitely eat in GBK, maybe multiple times ;)

I used to be a regular customer and, in the past few weeks, they have changed the hamburger size and flavour . It’s been smaller and really poor quality ingredients. I also saw same review this week. Please do not give excuse about the buns without seeds , cause it’s not what we are talking about . You can changed the gourmet side from the brand . And for those who are reading this : go to McDonald’s or even BGK, paying lower price , same quality.

The hamburgers are not the same for some reason. I order GBK every week and from weeks ago, they have changed recipes and menu. I’ll not order anymore (also hamburgers are very small now)

Group of 4 we ordered a takeout, very slow preparing the food despite lots of staff in the kitchen area chatting. Burgers were over cooked and really not good. Milkshakes were not sufficiently cold at all. Onion rings were burnt. Plus we asked for no pickle and we got pickle in the burgers. Won’t be going back to this branch

Awful experience! Paid around £70 and my child did not get their chicken burger…. Mistake happen right? Rang up and told they have sent someone else’s burger (just a beef patty) and Britney said the kitchen was just closed. And still no refund! My child was left hungry 😢 and having dropped £70 expected a decent experience. If your kitchen has just closed then open it up quickly and grill some chicken it’s not rocket science. I shall be writing to Satnam Leihal and David Sayer who are the directors. £70 wasted! Guys try Honest burgers or another place who care about their customers. 😡

Well hello there, my fellow foodie adventurers! I must say, I had quite the experience at GBK in Cutty Sark. I waltzed in there with my hungry tummy grumbling, eager to try out their famous Panko Chicken Burger and Fries, with a side of Corn on the Cob. And boy, was I underwhelmed! I took a bite of that burger and was expecting fireworks to go off in my mouth, but instead, it was more like a tiny sparkler on a rainy day. The chicken was dry and lacked flavor, and the Panko coating was as disappointing as a party without balloons. And don't even get me started on the fries. They were as bland as a bowl of oatmeal with no sugar. To add insult to injury, the corn on the cob was as tough as an old boot. I had to gnaw on it like a beaver trying to fell a tree, and it was not a pretty sight. I swear, if I had to eat one more bite of that cob, I would have been better off nibbling on my shoe. But hey, at least the atmosphere was quiet. I could hear myself think, which was a welcome change from the usual chaos of a restaurant. Overall, I give GBK in Cutty Sark a solid meh. If you're looking for a culinary adventure, you're better off going to your grandma's house and raiding her spice rack.

Nice location. Burger was alright but definitely not worth the price, especially since the patties didn't taste of very much. Service was a bit slow, but it was busy so that can be excused. Chips (the French fries) were veeeeerrrery salty, which might be for some but look out if you're counting your sodium levels.

Their service is terrible! It’s so slow 🥴🥴 The waiting staff are all super lovely and kind but I waited 35 minutes for a burger and fries like they had to slaughter the cow themselves. Meanwhile delivery drivers constantly flying in and out. Don’t bother coming into this branch, I guess. Currently in Honest Burgers around the corner. :)

Ordered via delivery and received the smallest amount of chips. Nothing compared to what you’d get in store. Shouldn’t be like this. Feels like a rip off.

Although the burger itself was nice, the service is terrible. They got the order wrong then said sorry do you want the burger or not we are closing the kitchen. Then said they ran out of both sides we ordered when they brought the burgers to our table, which were the most expensive sides on the menu and only offered to change them with the standard fries. Just overall rubbish service and made very little effort to rectify their mistakes.

Waited 45 minutes for food, after going up to the counter to ask where our food was, we was given only half of our order and told the rest will be another 15 minutes. We left - without eating & have asked restaurant for a refund. Such as shame as this was our first time eating in GBK, probably won’t be returning.

I booked a table for 5 for Boxing Day online, but walked up to the restaurant and it not even be open. Now having to find another place to eat, with 4 hungry children. Terrible service, shouldn’t have made it possible to book a table if they weren't going to be open. Would give 0 stars if I could.

Starter arrived after 40 mins after 3 other people had received food after we arrived. Camembert was stone cold and missing dip which we was only informed about when served. Main arrived 20 mins later missing items and with mustard instead of mayo. Sweet potato fries were also stone cold and salad was served with house slaw when it should have been without. Took another 20 mins for the burger to be done again and arrived without cheese this time. 3rd time lucky went to the counter where the feamle manager/supervisor rolled her eyes as i approached. Handed the burger to male manager and mentioned this was the 2nd time it was wrong and is now missing cheese. Would not recommend. Is run by teenagers that are prioritising deliveroo customers over those dining in.

Absolutely brilliant staff working here .. I think I'm going to apply for a job here it allows common waiters to fill entitled I ask for an order don't even check the number. And tell me someone else took it then said it's taking ages. I've seen idiots like this before instead of leaving waited because obviously they where Trying to make me quit so waited 4 minutes and order was out. The restaurant was completely empty so predictable.. Someone shouls explain to them they are here to work..

Order on Deliveroo, the issues was because the driver showed up only with the soft drinks and had no clue what was going on. I called the restaurant to be told by a not very friendly staff (Brittany - dont know if it is her real name) mainly to sorted it out by myself. I could hear on the background a conversation between "Brittany" and someone else asking why there was food on the hot section if the driver had gone already (sounded like my order, or another costumer got cold food as well). Anyway I do understand mistakes happen but there are many ways of dealing with situations like that, and telling a costumer to sort it out by yourself it's not one of them. I do know that because I order from a 3rd part I should deal with them but would be great to had heard some apologies and at least that they could sort it out without a problem. The burguers and fries arrived cold, wasn't a very pleasant meal like we had many times before from this restaurant. Very disappointed.

The chain has gone downhill. At this point eating McDonald’s taste better 🥴 There is NOTHING gourmet about them everything tasted cheap.

I asked for a table for four at the door and the waitress looked at me in complete and utter confusion as if I wasn't speaking English. She was like "a table.....for four?!" whilst squinting her eyes at me and my friends whilst we were all standing beside an empty table with 4 seats. We were all so confused by her behaviour it was so awkward and she finally said "I don't know what you're talking about" and we had to just leave. I've never had a more awkward experience in my life.

Amazing hospitality, the food was amazing too. Staff were really helpful and friendly, my phone died and they charged my phone for me. Would come eat here again and would recommend.

Unfortunately, the beef burger patty (medium rare) was not juicy and the bun did not blend well with the rest of the burger. I ordered the Rocket Man.

Ok so really.. first time trying this chain. Cheap buns, cheap fries, cheap cheese, the waiter asked me how I want my patty I said medium-rare and I got it well done. They forgot to serve me water while all the tables around me had.

Food is delicious but the waiter was rude.
