Good World in Norwich

Have used this takeaway for quite a long time but all rice is stodgy & stuck together. Could have been a busy night so gave them the benefit of the doubt & ordered twice since & had exactly same issue with the rice. Won't use again unfortunately 😕

Rude lady taking orders who raised her voice at me when I rang back after an hour of waiting to enquire where food was. Told a further 30 minute at which point I questioned why I hadn't been advised of this when ordering. She said she had told me, she had not or I wouldn't have called again querying. She then started raising her voice saying how busy they were and when I asked her why she was shouting at me she said because I was shouting at her and did I want to just cancel my order. I did not shout at her but perhaps had a frustrated tone. I explained that I didn't wish to cancel as my family hadn't had any food this evening. I was offered a pathetic 10% discount and finally received my order after waiting 1hr 45 mins. Food unfortunately wasn't up to usual standard. Rice was cold, curry and noodles all cold!! Very disappointing customer service and treatment having been a customer for 18 plus years.

First time using this takeaway after seeing some positive recommendations on Facebook. Was the nicest we’ve had in a long time after our other regulars seem to have gone downhill a bit. Portions were great, everything tasted fresh and if you use their website you can pay with card. Will definitely return!

Have been using Good World for as long as I can remember & usually the food is great & the wait is around 20 mins. I phoned an order through for delivery at 5.27 after waiting till 7.45 we tried to phone back, phones were off the hook. When we finally got through at 8pm they had LOST our order. I was met with hostility & them taking no responsibility for their mistake. They even told me to just cancel the order to which I replied I couldn't because I had withdrawn the money to pay in cash & couldn't get it back in the bank to re order somewhere else. Staff were very unhelpful & quite rude. Even when saying my food would be 45 more mins it still didn't turn up until 9.17 nearly 4 hours after we originally ordered for ASAP delivery. It wasn't a small order either, won't use again

Best Chinese I have ever had! Food was good quality. Flavor was rich. Arrived on time and was still hot and fresh

Food is always good but turned up on Christmas Eve after placing an order at 5pm for 7:15pm, I turned up on time and paid a fair price. Only to wait 30 minutes and still not getting served with arriving customers saying it’ll be ‘30 minutes until an order’ which is clearly a false promise. Asked about declining new orders to prioritise these orders of 8 people waiting in store to get served which was dealt with neglect. Utterly disgusting service in all honesty.

I Ordered crispy chilli beef, don’t know what it was but as sure as hell it wasn’t beef not crispy and beige in colour, very bland and no chillies. Sweet and sour pork Cantonese the so called crispy coating was soft ( it wasn’t cooked ) both meat dishes tasted the same. Vegetable chow mien very dry vegetables hard and uncooked again no taste. I can honestly say it’s the worst Chinese takeaway I have ever had. What a pity because the girl who took my order was very professional and the guy who delivered very polite. What a waste of money as its now sitting in the bin.

Had a leaflet dropped from this takeaway this morning, however the man dropping the leaflets thought it was okay to thieve some of my things in my driveway. More then happy to share ring doorbell footage.

Food was good but cash only so shows trying to fiddle the vat lol 😆 😅

Delivery was prompt, lady on the phone was so friendly. Had their menu put through our door last week so thought we would give it a go. The food was AMAZING. very impressed

I was sceptical about ordering what with a few shady reviews but I wasn't disappointed! The portions were very generous, delivery was quick enough and the food tasted really nice! I did notice the prices ordering on the website were a bit more than ordering over the phone.

The special curry is a winner. Ask for ' a little bit spicy ' if you want to make it interesting. The vegetable curry here is also one of the best we've tried. Friendly staff. And they open on a Monday. Thanks GW.

Our food arrived warm, lumpy bbq sauce and my chicken balls were slightly pink. Massive shame as everything else was lovely & a decent price with quick delivery! You get good sized portions too!

Had a terrible meal delivered yesterday! The whole thing was dried up! Chow mein, awful! Chicken sweet and sour balls, doughy and tough chicken, rice dried up! Rang and spoke to the man who took the order and he said it was the Manager who delivered the food and that he would report our complaint upon his return! Obviously he didn't give a shxt about our opinion and upon looking at the reviews I am not surprised now! Terrible meal, bad service and bad after care, will not be going back there!

It's a shame there are a few negative reviews on here. I've used Good World for delivery which is consistently always quicker than they say, walk-in again always quick and really helpful and pick-up. Drivers always lovely and friendly, food consistently good. I have seen awkward customers treat the staff rudely and mess about trying to swap items on set meals, if anything I admire the patience of the shop staff who put up with a lot. I often just have a set meal put a little more so less than £15, sometimes £9 and they treat me each and every time like they appreciate my custom every single time. I've been sat in and people come in and spend one just one dish and again the staff are respectful and appreciative. When I've had the duck it's great and not too fatty, the crispy duck is well done, sweet and sour balls not soggy, set meals excellent value, plenty of dearer ingredients not scrimped on in the rice I.e. plenty of prawns. Always fresh and tasty. Spicy foods nice and spicy but not burn your mouth off. I honestly can't fault them. They do this every day but it's a treat for us and they know that. I've been to other Chinese's locally the odd time and food horrendously late, missing items, barely acknowledged and I've never had that in nine years! So I would wholeheartedly recommend Good World. If you ever did have a problem I'm sure a calm word when it's quiet the next day (not in the middle of a busy service) would rectify any issues. Keep up the good work Good World, we love you!

Bog standard nothing special here but food was hot , cheap but not tasty

I regularly use Good World as it's my local Chinese takeaway the food is consistently good and when ordered by phone and collected from the shop always quick would recommend to all !

Had some lovely food from here but last night it was terrible chips taste warmed up, chicken curry strange taste chicken hard ,and patches of cold food ,wife upset barfing plus migraine 😫

Appalling.. Rude lady I spoke to when ordering (should have twigged) then a meat instead of vegetarian curry arrived. Called to get my money back and same lady was even more rude.. My first order with them, terrible business sense.. Update: feel a bit funny after eating just the sauce and the rice. Hmm...

Food has always been good but customer service very poor. Charged us for full order but wouldn’t refund after items missing. Shame to go elsewhere but I would expect them to correct such a simple error

order from here last night, food was disgusting through the whole lot in the bin. egg fried rice tasted like a burnt pan, and as for crispy chilli beef, should rename it stodgy beef, couldn't even chew the stuff and tasted awfull!

Had food from here tonight they were not busy yet food was burnt chow mein was overly spicy chicken was like rubber pineapple fritter was raw we will be eating from here again

What a wee Gem of a place. Very tasty food and great friendly service. Im over joyed to find a replacement Chinese after wokaholic closed down. Doesn’t look much from the outside but that doesn’t matter when the food is well cooked, tasty and there are generous portions. I’m not sure the other people leaving poor reviews visited the same place.

Absolutely rank !!! Worst Chinese I've ever had. So disgusting I felt like I had to actually wash my plates more thoroughly than normal. Every thing had a grey tinge to it. Chop suey looked like washing up water Pah never again . My fault I usually go to the one on woodcock road to collect. But have a poorly child so though we would try a delivery !!! No no no

First time using this Chinese tonight - definitely found our new local. The Kung-Po Chicken was the best we’ve ever had!

We have been with good world 10 years.. never had a problem!. But the last fee times the food has been delivered cold. Tonight we phoned and complained!. Waited over an hour initially. When we called and complained we then waited another half an hour for the driver to arrive to see how cold the food was. He replaced our food... still not hot, but my family where so hungry we just ate it.. no offer of money off or asked if we wanted anything to make up for it.. nothing.... we are now changing who we order from . We have recommended good world to family and friends in the past. Not any more. We have been loyal customers every week for over 10 year's. Very dissapointed! No loyalty from them at all.

Had the worst Chinese takeaway ever from here. Flavours were gross and ended up throwing most of it away. I should have been warned when the lady was arguing with a customer about them not receiving any rice. Really poor. Avoid.

I have had several takeaways from here and the service has always been excellant and the meals have always been really enjoyable they provide good quality and good consistancy where others tend to lack, i would not hesitate to recommend Good World

The beef in the chow mein was raw not even slightly cooked. Will never order from there again!!

My favourite Chinese Restaurant in Norwich. Pity I've just moved .... wish i could have taken them with me!
