City Hut Peri Peri in Norwich

Absolutely terrible food. Tiny portions. Burnt and soggy. Said Diet Coke. Got a brand called “Barr”. Terrible parmo. Would not recommend City Hut Peri Peri. Especially not their parmo. Worst takeout I’ve ever ordered.

Not flavourful. They need to work on their recipes. Ordered a full chicken peri peri, Mexican rice, 9' veg pizza, peri peri chips and a Pepsi. Pepsi was the only proper item 😑. Nothing tasted as described. Rice had just salt n turmeric. Peri peri Chicken was really well cooked but again no periperi. The chips had minimum peri peri. The staff was very welcoming though. But I would never order food here.

I've been to City Hut a couple of time recently with two sets of friends and have not been disappointed at all. Amazing food, really tasty, and really good prices. Lovely and clean place, nice atmosphere and very attentive staff. Food was very quick, too!

Not food related but I'm a window cleaner and done windows and now refusing to pay and just ignores messages. Such a shame enjoyed cleaning them and done a fantastic job got pics to prove it now gonna have to take more formal. Action against them

Only gave one as this is the lowestes score. Madras sauce, mango chutney where watery both in texture and flavour, the lamb was tough, the garlic nan had no garlic on it, onion bhaji where really greesey and didn't have any sauce to dip them in. all round disappointing and unpleasant.

Oh my goodness, amazing restaurant. I have an intolerance to onions and chef happily offered to make fresh with no onion. You don't get better customer service. Incredibly polite staff and friendly vibe too.

Never order from here guys. They send a horrible food. The taste is awful. The food is not even cooked properly and its too much sweet. Nobody could eat that. And i can't even complain for it. The number they provided is showing invalid. i paid £16.5 for that awful food The gravy was uncooked. Taste was more than bad. and too much sweet they added. Please write a complaint on behalf of me to the restaurant. Previously also my flatmates ordered from City Spice and their experience was also horrible. These restaurants should closed. Stealing money from people!

Was worst indian I've had out of town. Was bland, had no flavour whatso ever! Would definitely NOT recommend due to the staffs response when we said we was not happy with the food. He didn't know what to say as I'm pretty sure he knew the standard of food they serve. Waste of money and waste of time. I'd avoid unless it's the last possible resort open around this area.

Waited 30mins for starter which consisted of one prawn for 5.50 then another half an hour for lamb chops main. Came mostly bone with black meat on it. Complain to waiter, told him I was not paying for it. His reply was to call the police! Crazy

Had a takeaway for the first time here yesterday and can't praise them enough. Very friendly staff and food didn't take too long either. When I got home both me and my partner thought the food was lovely and we will definitely recommend and order again. Excellent

I went in today for just a cheesy naan bread, the food was hot, tasty and quick. The staff were very friendly especially the new person behind the bar when i came in. If the rest of the food is as good as the service i had today then its amazing!

Quality of the food was acceptable but we were way overcharged for our meal. £90 for 5 of us using two tasecards and that was with only two Naan breads and 2 rice. 3 of the 5 of us only had a small soft drink! Will not be returning!

Ordered and paid food never turned up so called and hour later and they then denied getting the order and i had to argue with them for 10 minutes. Never order from them again!

Friendly staff, but going here for the first time in many years was a disappointment. The food seemed obviously microwaved and despite myself and my girlfriend only having a vegetable korma, both our stomachs were very irritated the next day. It is fairly cheap here, but you get what you pay for.

AWFUL experience. Incredibly rude staff, over an hour wait and found a piece of chicken in my vegetarian meal?! Cannot imagine what their food hygiene is like if this kind of cross contamination is happening. Big big thumbs down and the food was really average.

I have just ordered a takeaway and i can honestly say its the worst food i have ever tried to eat, ive had one mouthful of a chicken balti and i feel sick, just eat really needs to take this so called restaurant off thier list, the chicken is over cooked and is just rubber, the sauce is awful, my family are now having to sit here eating crisps, what an absolute shambles! Never going again! Chicken korma from here consists of six tiny pieces of chicken, swimming in the most disgusting sauce, please everyone, avoid!!!!

We ordered a takeaway for my daughters birthday and it was awful! The vegetable Korma was just sauce, the chicken tikka starter was tough, the yoghurt sauce to go with it was off and the naan breads had been microwaved so were hard and tough round the edge- avoid eating here!!! Was the worst takeaway I’ve ever had!

Quite possibly the worst meal I have ever had in a ' restaurant' I'm quite a easy going person who doesnt like to complain but was quite willing to argue over how much we paid as the food was just embarrassing and awful. My wife had to lead me away so I didn't upset the friends we were with

Friendly staff, good prices, decent portions

They always add another 40+ minutes onto delivery when it's a 5-10 min drive from my house... They regularly forget items on the order - I've lost over £25 of missed items in the last months and I don't bother calling as they don't understand, I just don't bother ordering for home delivery again... They regularly ignore special requests/notes - why even give us the option if you're going to ignore it? You don't do that when we eat in - you get it perfect every time, so why can't you do that for a home delivery? The curries vary in taste from time to time - why? That should never e the case with a restaurant or take away. The portion sizes are often so bad that you only get half a pot for £10, yet if you eat in, you get a massive portion. Portion sizes are so so so terrible - to the point where sometimes we are so mad that we don't order for another month or two and go to a Chinese or other Indians instead as our treat for the week Food is expensive - compared to a Chinese, F+C, other Indians, Pizza, Kebab, Thai, Italian etc or most other take away's, you end up spending a lot more and waiting a long long time for it to get to you cold with items missing. We always end up spending £25 more with them for less food, even with their discount for take away's. They make some good food sometimes, but it's not consistent at all and you're guaranteed to wait at least an hour for your delivery which costs £5 out of the city centre They give you very small portions of sauce and starters even though they cost £4 for a starter and around £1 for a pot of sauce Chicken Pakora for example - always different. Flavoured rice - always different. Peshawi Naan - always different amounts of filling - Poppudoms - never get the right salad for the amount ordered - you can order 2 and get 1 pot of salad, yet order 6 and still only get 1 pot. Notes or requests on phone - often ignored. Mouvli Hash - always half filled. Salad - despite costing nothing for them to make, you pay a fortune for it - Onion, mint, mango and chutney dips - again, despite them costing nothing at wholesale, you pay a fortune and get a tiny pot. Most take aways give you a freebie if you order over x amount, but all we have ever had with these guys is constant missing orders to the point where we have had to claim from just eat. Bottom line - expensive, late and long deliveries, missed items, non consistent food........ BUT when they get it right, they really do get it right and it's a delicious meal. It's a shame they're not consistent as we would use them exclusively and quit all other fast food as it's delicious when the right chef is on and it's healthier than most other cuisines. When it's right, it's the best take away out of any cuisine available, but unfortunately, they get it wrong too often. Also - the usual delivery driver - an elderly man - is very lovely and friendly, but on two occasions now we have had a younger man come who was VERY VERY VERY rude and made us never want to order from them again, luckily, after a break from them for a couple of months because we were so angry, it seems the lovely elderly gentleman is back! If they improve -IF - I will update this review to reflect that. I need to see a massive improvement in their constancy in flavour, portion sizes, remembering everything you've ordered and speed to consider an increase in stars.

On a Saturday night, having ordered (and paid for) a takeaway with a waiting time of 40 mins, we phoned after 50 mins and were told it was 5 mins away. Another 35 mins elapsed so we phoned again. This time we discovered that the food had been delivered...just not to us. Somebody else took delivery of a 'fully paid for' meal for 4 just because it was delivered to the wrong address. This 'Zero Star' rating (not a one star) is not just because of the restaurant's inept staff, but because of what followed. We remonstrated with the assistant manager who accepted that it was a complete 'cluster***' and all their fault. It was too late to eat, by this time. We demanded our money back and he agreed to do so. We also made it known that we would never order from them again. He phoned us back and offered to provide us with the same meal, free of charge, if we phoned and ordered it on Sunday, the following day. We were very impressed and made plans accordingly, for Sunday. We phoned on Sunday, only to find that the 'assistant manager' was nowhere to be seen and the 'Manager' who seemed to think it was not rude to carry on a conversation with multiple others as well as with us, spoke to us. I say spoke, but it was more like a mantra with no possibility of the other party (us) contributing once we had stated our case and ordered the four meals. His line was that the assistant manager should never have promised what he did and that we would not be 'dining on them' that evening. We mentioned that we would be relating our experience to the populace as a consequence of the restaurant staffs' ineptitude, false promises and bad manners, to which he commented that we could do what we liked. So they went from Zero to Hero to Zero again in the space of 24 hours and they are the authors of their own misfortune. I'm sure his mother loves him (?), but I don't and as a consequence will not be sampling their culinary delights, ever. Mr Cole. Poringland

Wednesday deal is fine still came for £30 with drinks. Nothing special. However I would not pay any more for the food served here. Staff do not seem happy in there jobs. White wine was awful but beer was normal.

Big NO NO!!! Awful service, the driver was swearing down the phone because he couldn't find the address! The manager was rude and was very very unhelpful! The food turned up cold.. after being 1hr 20 late!! Really awful experience!!

This has been by takeaway of choice for a few years now. Staff are very polite, the set menu is good value and very tasty. Have also sat down to dine inside too. Highly recommend.

The manager accused me of lying saying they had delivered my food even though I never received such an order. Very quiet restaurant, takeaway seems busy. Food tastes reasonable. Relatively cheap

Food was good and staff were attentive, but most beers we had smelt a bit off. Staff replaced one but still seemed the same, maybe a bad barrel. Not ideal on a stag meal, but perhaps they just had a bad day on the beers.

we asked for salted lassi.we were told they are very busy and therefore unable to provide they seem to be more interested in takeaway and didnot care about sit in food

Beautiful food, genuinely friendly service and great value for money. I heard about this place from a friend who has had takeaways from them for years and whilst in the restaurant I noticed that the owners knew the names of many of the customers. Hardly suprizing as the food there is lovely and the place has a really warm and relaxed atmosphere.

everything that is BAD about Indian takeaway can be found here. Greasy tandoori and tikka (why? Isn't it supposed to be cooked over coals)... tasteless watery dhansak... artificially coloured over sweetened tikka masala sauce.... the chicken was also very cheap and poor quality... nan bread was soggy... salad tasted like it had been sat around for days... all in all - absolutely dreadful... It's the second time we tried this place. It was awful last time but we (stupidly) thought we would give it a second chance... Wish we hadn't... All in all: Disgusting and we felt robbed of our money... it was cheap, tasteless, overpriced, cynical rubbish.... YUK!
