Good Wok in Gloucester

Ordered from here for a birthday meal, me and my family were eating and found a flying ant in the noodles. I called the restaurant and was screamed at and threatened; she said she’d come to my house. The women on the phone (wang) spoke to me so appalling my mother took over and spoke to her where she accused my mum of putting hair in the food to get a refund?? After about 20 minutes of being screamed at and threatened she sent the driver to come and collect the rest of the food that we’d been put off eating due to the INSECTS? And said she’d refund what was left..the delivery driver however was lovely and even took us to the restaurant himself (as I don’t drive) to get it sorted, even he knew it was all bs. After being interrogated and wang giving my 14 year old sister a mouthful we got a refund as we said we’d call environmental health?? The delivery driver then took us home and apologised on behalf of the restaurant even tho it was not his job to do so. Myself and my family will never be ordering from here ever again, not even because of the flying ant (it’s that time of year all the bugs come back to life) but because of the way it was handled and how myself and my 14 year old sister were treated…on my birthday no less. I would not recommend buying anything from good wok unless you want to be interrogated,threatened and verbally abused 👍🏻

This was the best Chinese takeaway I have had by far. Always order from here anyway and have been for years but tonight wow 🤩 well done as always Good Wok 👌👌👌

Food is always cooked perfectly and tastes great. Staff friendly and chatty only draw back is cash only which can be a pain

Poor food , slow delivery Rude staff on the phone. Rice was stodgy, and not nice. Chicken balls doughy and under cooked.

Have been using Good Wok for some considerable time and it has just kept going downhill, you rarely receive exactly what you order and it’s never on time, our last order was almost an hour late. We have voted with our feet and moved to another take away.

Upon ordering you have choices, to include a barbecue sauce on top of your rice you can pay extra but considering we did not want this sauce on the item and expressed this a number of times when ordering. To then receive the item covered in sauce that no one likes !!!! So it went straight in the bin .. I called the takeaway to be told ., ‘It’s too late now it’s done ‘and ‘well if you want to wait another hour I will deliver one to you ‘ You only know how good somewhere is when there is a problem ( they happen from time to time ) but the rudeness of the lady on the telephone, means I certainly will not bother to order from them again .

We have been using Good Wok for a very long time, this evenings delivery was the worst Chinese meal we have suffered in a long time, it was not as we ordered, when we phoned to advise the abrupt lady argued with us & the food was virtually cold. Very disappointed. From the service to the quality of the food, it’s all gone down hill.

Just casually tucking into our Chinese and BOOM A HAIR !!!! Quite annoyed as we always go here and never had a problem! Put us right off ! Am definitely not going to return 🤮🤢

Had a takeaway from here 4 times now ..everyone excellent...friendly staff...keep up the good work...from special satay to crispy chilli beef to sweet and sour....delivery drivers lovely also....

I ordered the duck in bbq sauce and couldn't eat it as it wasn't very nice. Shame really as everything else was nice.

Duck was a bit too fatty but everything was tasty.

Fantastic food, really quick delivery!

We got our order and one of the meals was completely wrong so I rang up to tell them and get the order right and they bluntly denied that I had the wrong order and repeatedly told me what I had ordered but wouldn't accept that I had the wrong order, I was very disappointed.

I've never been failed by these guys...I've tried other Chinese Takeaways, but no one comes close

Arrived much quicker than expected. Prawn crackers tasted a bit stale. Rest of food was lovely, everyone enjoyed it! Loads of meat in the dishes and not greasy. Would definitely order again.

Meal arrived late an u could at least get little bottle pop for orders over £20 ordered many times only freebie u get is prawn crackers! 😂

Ordered from this Chinese, will never order again as had pink chicken (when I say pink chicken it was blood and not cooked) phoned them to tell them and offered to deliver some more but was put right off that it wasn't cooked in the first place!!

Foods was okay but wasn't keen them. Chips was overcooked. Rice taste little overcooked but I wouldn't order them again as wasn't keen them.

Well I'm still waiting for my delivery and it's been two hours since I ordered keep ringing them and they keep saying twenty minutes 😤 will not be returning even if the food is good when it finally arrives

food took over 1 1/2 hours to arrive and was cold. When I contacted the restaurant to complain, the owner was rude and hung up on me. £50 of food was ruined and the restaurant only offered a £10 refund (which I had to call Just Eat to get). Avoid at all costs.

Asked for 8.15 delivery so I can get home from my sons football training in plenty of time and enjoy the food, but got delivered at 7.30 doesn't taste the same when you have to reheat!

The food was of usual high quality, however, the delivery from source was diabolical (not the driver however, who was courteous and apologetic). The food was well over half an hour late and took a call to the restaurant to prompt delivery.

Not sure the duck curry was actually duck, taste and texture much more like pork, won't be ordering this again, however everything else loveky.

Ordered a small meal at 6:30 (only £20 worth of food). It's currently 8:15 and the food has only just arrived (we live 10 mins drive from the takeaway). We rang the takeaway and they said they have only had 3 meals ordered tonight. Terrible service. Will never be ordering from here again.

An hour and a half late , no phone call and when I rang I was not offered an apology or explanation ! Avoid !!!!!

Food is ALWAYS massively late - disappointing as the food is great but hours and hours of waiting is NOT great - if you want to eat before you've dropped down dead from starvation try somewhere else / maybe a flight to China and back would be quicker

Meal took nearly an hour to arrive then wrong items took an hour to replace them. Best noodles I've had from a takeaway but not too happy with rest of meal.

I really wouldn't give this one star, but as this is the only way to submit the feedback I have no choice. Ordered at 6.30pm for a delivery ASAP. Ring for an update at 7.40... It's with the driver. We live 10 minutes away...still nothing after 30 minutes more. Ring back. It's just left. The girl answering the phone the first time didn't even check. Ask to speak to the manager, not their fault obviously. Offer us a £2 discount on £40 order. Not good enough. Finally take £10 off. Food finally arrives. Cold...what a shock. Will never order from this place again. Awful customer service and poor food. Oh...and also got called rude on the phone by 'the manager' as we said the wait was not what we expected and we were not happy that we got fobbed off the first time we called. Avoid this place at all costs.

Originally stated delivery time 19:05 then moved to 19:25 then the food actually arrived at 19:40, food was soggy from condensation and barely warm, been using good wok for years and the last few meals have been going downhill, but been holding back and saying maybe they're busy. Will not be ordering again

The staff were VERY rude and abrupt on the telephone. We were told our order would be 45 minutes,after an HOUR we rang to chase our Order the lady was very rude&put the phone down on us,it eventually arrived after waiting nearly TWO HOURS!!!!!!! We would have cancelled but it was a treat for our family. Complete let down!!!! This had always been our first choice for a Chinese as it had always been great BUT just lately it has dramatically gone down hill and we won't be using it again nor will we recommend them to friends or family!!!!!

As a regular customer I was disappointed to wait 1 hour and 20 mins to then receive cold food. Rang to complain and the lady was rude claiming I was a liar and the food was hot. By far the most disappointing experience I have ever had. They have lost a regular..

The food took 2 and a half hours to arrive. When it did it was cold and soggy. When ringing to complain a member of staff hung up the phone and continued to ignore our calls until we rang from a different number. They then sent a driver to our house to retrieve the cold food without warning at 11pm. 4 hours after the order was first placed! I never normally bother to write reviews but worst service I have ever received.

Took 90 mins to arrive, 30 mins after estermatied time, had to phone twice, then driver about to drive off before caught driver, had before, no problem, but next time, won't pay up front

Delivery was due at 19.50 but didn't up for atleast another 20mins and when the driver turned up he just handed over the bag with a huff and then just walked off. Good food but bit slack on the delivery time and rude driver.

Bad Wok - ordered food 7.45. Called 8.45, told ten minutes. I finally cancelled food at 9.20 but it was delivered (and rejected again) 9.30. Awful. Last time ordering from here.
