Decent chinese, not the worst, but by far not the best. Food ordered online, pricey at that, compared to other local resturants. Then you place the order, and food hasnt arrived within an hour. Phone call to the resturant, and they are polite, but surprise, the food is now on the way. Food arrives and is decent, but the wait time is not the best.

Always brilliant take away, always on time, very good pricing and food always taste fresh. Never had a bad meal from this place and being going here for years.

Ordered online and requested early as possible delivery. No show after an hour so phoned asking where was my order to be told “we are cooking it now’. Order finally arrived nearly two hours after initial order. Not good enough. Pleasant delivery driver said they had probably forgotten until I phoned them!

Got a beef curry n paid a little more with rice which is fine. But got a large chicken curry n then paid extra £4.70 for a large chips. Wow! And we ordered a regular chips and they were £3.60. Over priced for me so won't use again

Had to wait well over an hour. Ordered a combination meal that consisted of ribs chicken balls. Crispy chichen with chips and pancake rolls. And all I recieved crispy chicken in chips. That was dry and rubbery that cost over 20 pounds by the time all the other charges was added. Wish I had checked trip advisor first myself now. Its kinda now me go off chinese meals. And deffintly won't be ordering from here again..

Ordered 5.30pm, sitting here at 8pm and still no food. I gave them the benefit of the doubt when it went past the hour mark on a saturday night but 2.5 hours and still no food is an absolute joke. Called the shop 3 times and keep getting fobbed off with a different story and no honest updates. Won't be ordering from here again.

Ordered food waited over 1 hr 40 mins. Staff not on desk when u go in. Poor service..prices expensive now.. used this place for years food nothing like it use to be. Very poor dried looking. And the guy in shop who i paid asked if i wanted my change..only 10p but how cheeky off him. Wont be back

The boss is very rude and disrespectful to her staff and blames the people taking the orders when complaints come back about the food being greasy… surely that’s the cooks fault not the telephone sort yourself out and treat your staff with some respect

Ordered food at 6.30 at 7.30 still no food so I rang up was told they were very busy but my food would be with me in 15-20 mins it finally turned at 8.25 it was stone cold and dry as a bone phoned up to complain was told I could have a refund. I then got a phone call at 9.14pm to be told no I couldn't have a refund shocking service train your staff and sort out your ordering on your website as delivery stated at 6.31 what a joke I will never order from you again

My partner ordered a takeaway from this Chinese, ordered fried chicken in black bean sauce, and has been up since 4am vomiting, having diarrhoea and running a fever. I didn’t eat any of the chicken, I just had a few mouthfuls of the black bean sauce as it had vegetables in it and I’ve also had diarrhoea and felt sick to my stomach but no means as bad as him. AVOID. Reported to the food agency standards as this is not on.

I ordered salt and pepper prawns and special fried rice at a cost of £12.30, which is quite expensive, if you ask me. The prawns were barely edible and had a weird taste to it, and the special friend rice came in a small container. Will not be eating here again.

very poor service.used to always get correct order but surprise surprise tonight order was wrong instead of a chicken curry got sent a prawn curry. Have had a few deliveries last year where orders were short .

Can only agree with the reviews already posted. Have used this Chinese for very many years and has always been excellent. Have just bought a beef curry and whilst the flavour is excellent the meat is chewy and full of gristle. Shame to let the standard fall so low

Rather disappointing experience unfortunately. Used to use this place alot over the years but switched to another local one as it was abit cheaper.. being short of time we decided to just pop into this one again over the weekend as it's closer to home.. Well.. £9! for a 7inch round dish which contained raw mushrooms and a missing pot of sauce that we'd payed for means we'll be sure to return back to our usual Chinese take away next time. This was quite a treat for us being being one of the more expensive take out places to choose from so for how much you pay I'd have at least expected our fairly small order to have been correct and cooked to a good standard. Shame as they used to be so good.. oh and and from what i remember they were abit more cheerful in the past.

Used to be good but it has gone downhill. The sauce was so runny and insipid and the chicken was not like it used to be and seems to be like other Chinese places use - fake processed chicken. AND the price has gone up and does not relate to quality.

This place is a complete joke. Ordered food they said an hour, 2hrs later call up to find out what’s going on and they say we hopefully get your order out with the next driver. This place for customer service and delivery times is up there with the worst in the U.K. no doubt. Food is tasty but they have let the rest of the place down. Honestly avoid

Ordered £30 worth of food and had to wait two hours for it to arrive ! Two phone calls later and two hour wait I got told it wasn’t their fault and they hung up on me.....but hey I got a bag of free prawn crackers as an apology for keeping my hungry kids waiting over hours for food. Food ordered at 5:45pm with a 6:30pm delivery time.....arrived gone 8pm. Manager refuses to speak to speak when you complain and staff just say “it’s not my fault”. Driver said chef was ill my response “ don’t take the order then or inform people of the two hour delay before taking the money.

Found this by chance whilst on holiday in the area. Food was hot and really tasty. On the brochure it says you can pay by card on collections but when I got there it was cash only so that’s the only downside. Just make sure you have cash when you go!

I have been using the Good Luck Chinese Take-a-way now for over 40 years. The staff are so friendly, you can order in person or phone in for delivery anywhere in the Gorleston / Great Yarmouth area. You won't be disapointed with the quality of the meals or the amount, their prices are very good. Give them a try you'll be glad you did.

Fantastic service. Brilliant chicken curry and rice and the chicken balls are very nice as well. Prompt delivery and good value for money. never had any problems with them.

This is now the third time we have had something go wrong from this place. Missing items and this time we ordered, sat here waiting 1hr 20mins rang the Chinese and they hadn’t done our order cause supposedly the girl that took the order hadn’t taken our phone number or address, but we gave it to her 3 times. This is the last time I will order from them. If u want a Chinese don’t order from here, they are useless.

I ordered a red Thai curry with shrimp with other food - in total we spent £45. Mine was so runny like a very runny soup. I complained and the staff member said that is how they make it. No refund or any recompense for ruining my meal. Terrible experience.

Llamó y ordenados y me dijeron que sería una espera de 45 minutos, lo cual está bien, no importa esperar, pero una hora más tarde aún no comida tan llamó para ver si estaba en el camino y me dijeron que sí, otros 45 minutos más tarde y aún no había comida! ! Llamó de nuevo y me dijeron que estaba en su camino (nuevo! ) ni disculpas, nada! La comida llegó casi 2 horas después de que había pedido. El conductor de la entrega fue grosero, mal humor y aún ninguna disculpa! ! La comida no es nada especial, así que ni siquiera vale la pena esperar. Muy mal servicio al cliente! Nunca se puede pedir desde aquí y aconsejaría a nadie para evitar demasiado!

This is the best known Chinese takeaway in the Gorleston Bradwell area. The food is good but when you are waiting for your food the takeaway is freezing. They need to think about their staff. Guess that's the Chinese for you. Sort it!

I have raved about good luck chinese for 3 years!! Until the last two orders in about two months!! The first order that was not to satisfaction had prawns after informing the takeaway No prawns due to allergies and pregnant and the duck was over cooked and extremely dry order was taken back and they recooked but us having to take our children with us to the shop late!! and then tonight we stressed No prawns due to the same reasons and yet again we had prawns when contacted they blamed the kitchen no apology!! But money sent back via the delivery man as requested. Won't be coming back what is going on its lives you messing with!!

Llamó a un pedido para la entrega y me dijeron que estaría conmigo en media hora finalmente una hora más tarde recibí mi comida para llevar. Pensé que era muy caro 15 libras por un limón pollo arroz frito especial y una porción de patatas fritas. Las patatas fritas eran hecha el arroz estaba seco y el limón pollo bien podría haber ido a la vuelta de la esquina a comprar una porción de KFC pollo palomitas y derramó una botella de salsa de limón en la parte superior. Sin duda no volveremos.

Estábamos en un parque de vacaciones y decidimos salir para una comida para llevar china. Todos los platos estaban muy buenos, y la salsa barbacoa era uno de los mejores que he probado en comida para llevar china.

After using the same Chinese this take away was recommended by our neighbours,we ordered it on the Internet and it arrived within the time scale .All the order was hot and let's just say we've now got a new Chinese that we will use .

Good portions, nicely cooked, friendly staff, clean premesis. Parking spot a bit of a pain but that's not the take aways fault.

comida china excepcional! sorprendidos por la falta de suministro inicial menú, pero era de muy buena calidad, la comida para llevar es frecuentado por los lugareños siempre es una buena señal.

Absolutely discusting vile wouldn't feed to my dog customer service was atroshas wouldn't eat there again if u paid me a million pound to even put a rice grain in my mouth urrrr stay well clear of this thing it's that bad I couldn't even call it a takeaway RANK!!!!!!!!!!

Wow,this the BEST Chinese in Gt Yarmouth,I have been switching takeaway last couple of years here,I started using GOOD LUCK last xmas.The food is Brilliant ,all perfectly cooked,Its really a Surprise such high standard here for a small town.Defintely will come back

I did used to like this place but I ordered a home delivery about 2 weeks ago and it wasn't very nice at all.Tasted old, recooked or heated up didn't taste fresh at all. Also it had a strange taste to it all like vinegar. I will not be using it again. Because of this I looked online and found bad reviews from other people. Last night I fancied a Chinese so ordered from somewhere else ( China Garden - Lowestoft Road) and you could notice the difference, it tasted and looked fresh so much better, and I ordered from there because of the good reviews I found online, and im glad I did.

The quality and certainly the quantity of the food at this take away appears to us to have gone down. It used to be busy but now it seems to have lost its way a bit. Unfortunately for us it is our "Local Chinese take away". Now we mostly go elsewhere. Other places in Gorleston do it so much better, so much cheaper.

I used to love this takeaway outlet. They were more expensive than the other competing Chinese retailer outlets, but I don't mind paying extra for Delicious meal. However they are now under new management. My most recent order on the 28.11.14 was absolutely vulgar, clumpy rice, disgusting taste of vinegar, and cheap meat, the price hadn't changed either from the previously supplied stellar service. I spent the rest of my night depressed at the thought of having wasted my hard earned cash, my dogs were pleased though #EveryCloud

Easy access and usual menu, not too expensive and good value for a feast or just an occasional treat...can get busy at peak times. Better than some sit in restaurants. Friendly service.

Oh dear - where should I begin? We have just been in to order a takeaway - we have used this place many times in the past but the last 3 times we have been entirely dissatisfied, we kept hoping that this was just a blip but after this evening we will never go again. We ordered sweet and sour prawns Hong Kong Style - the assistant said 'do you mean Cantonese style' we said is that the one with the peppers in? she said 'yes' we also ordered a chicken curry and prawn chop suey and crispy chicken balls, rices and a large portion of chips.The prawn chop suey was pale pink and tasted of cornflour - no suggestion of any ginger or garlic, the sweet and sour was chicken and we had ordered prawn and it was bright red, oversweet and had two pieces of tomato, three pieces of cucumber and some pineapple in it - no peppers at all. The chicken curry was ok.We rang to complain and the owner insisted that we HAD ordered chicken not prawn sweet and sour - he said that the three people in the kitchen all heard us ordering chicken!! He also said that they never put peppers in the sweet and sour and when we said that, in the past we had so enjoyed their sweet and sour with fresh pineapple in it he said "we always use tin" He then said that at least ten people a week tried to get a free meal by complaining and we should go back to where we usually go! Charming!!We were so angry that we thought of going to Trading Standards but what is the point. You have no come back with a takeaway - other than getting back in the car and returning the food.So very disappointing.

So we used this as 'our' local drive past 2 others to get to it. food is just devine we love it. staff are great. Unfortunitly we now use the Just eat website to order our chinese food and good luck arent on the website or we would use it still.

The 'Good Luck' Chinese Take Away on Baker Street in Gorleston used to be our favourite take away. The food and service was excellent but in the last 12 months it has gone massively down-hill. Around November time we placed a large order for around 8 people, it was delivered after some time however we had food missing but had paid for it, we called the restaurant and informed them and we were told they would prepare the missing food but we would need to go and collect it...they were told this was unacceptable as it was not our fault the food was missing and we had opted for the meal to be delivered. They agreed to deliver the missing food as soon as possible. 45 minutes later and the food had still not arrived, another call was placed and they said it was on the way...another 15 minutes past and the food finally arrived (an hour for a few missing items to be delivered when the bulk of the food for 7 other people was prepared and delivered in less than 40 minutes in the first place!!!!) When the lad dropped off the food he asked for the money plus delivery charge, when informed we had already paid for the food and that it was missed off the original order he had to place a call back to the take away to confirm this...talk about lack of communication, what if someone didn't question this and ended up paying for it twice? I'm sure the restaurant wouldn't complain but it just displays bad practice and customer service on their part. A month or so later we decided to give them another try and ordered another take away for delivery. As before there was food missing. Same hassle as before. We should have seen the signs at this point and avoided the place like the plague...however.......last week we decided to try them again...we placed the order and were told it would take an hour to deliver or half an hour if we wanted to collect (how does that work out!?) We opted to collect and made our way to the restaurant half an hour later, informed the lady behind the counter that we were there to collect a phone order and gave her the name and she said it was being prepared and would be around 5 minutes....other people came in and collected their food, we still sat there waiting for ours, people came in and ordered food and left with it, we still sat waiting for ours. After waiting a ridiculous amount of time we went back to the counter and asked where our food was to be told by the very pleasant assistant (JOKE!) that "You have to come up and ask for it!"...so every 5 minutes we're meant to go to the counter and ask for the food we'd ordered!???The food is average, there are definitely far better chinese take aways in the area and we will be using these from now on, however it's the service that really lets this place down and the lacklustre and rubbish attitude of the people who work there, they seem to have no concept of customer service and take no pride or care in what they do. If you want bog-standard food with appalling service then go here, if not, pick one of the various other chinese take aways in Gorleston or Great Yarmouth that deliver and are much, much better!
