Good Friend in Aberdeen City

Been going to Good Friend for years and years!!! Actually ended up having a Good Friend for Christmas one year, feeding all 12 of us!! Food was still pipping hot by time we had driven out to Kingswells!! The last order we had, seems like they've changed the sauce with thr shredded chilli beef....... change it back please!!! No need for so many freebies, really should be an option. We hate prawn crackers and the chicken wings could be left out too - that's personal for us!! Can't wait to get stuck into another soon!!!!

The food we had was PHENOMENAL. bought the sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style (41) and chicken fried rice (141) and honestly the portion sizes were SO good! I didn't manage to eat all the fried rice in one go, super filling and actually tastes so well. I have uncommon food allergies and they were easily catered for. Couldn't stress how amazing this place was. Service of staff was also wonderful, very kind and friendly workers.

I don't understand what's happened with Good Friend... It used to be the best Chinese in Aberdeen, but the last twice we've ordered it's been pretty bad. Both times the chips were so stale! Almost as if they've been reheated multiple times. And my husband and I had an unquenchable thirst afterwards, just downing pints of water unable satiate it! It's really a shame. I hope it goes back to what it was before.

Please stay away from this horrible restaurant! After receiving my last meal they have changed all the ingredients and chips, when I called up about this they said nothing has changed but in the 1 year I’ve been ordering everything was great. So I call up tonight to order and ask if they have the old stuff back but no answer, the boss came to the phone and rudely shouted and said they now can’t serve me because I simply asked if the chips was back to normal. Simply just avoid this place and that’s a regular £50 customer you’ve just lost!

Tasty food and decent value for money.

This is our go to Chinese takeaway, usually always consistently good. But not tonight. Chips were so over done and the salt and chilli chicken was unbelievably salty. Disappointing.

Ordered from here plenty times before but our most recent order was extremely salty to a point it was inedible. Have had no issues before so I phoned to complain and was told that no refund could be offered, only their apologies. 3 meals all inedible and unfortunately apologies won’t cover the cost of getting more food. Girl on the phone was very nice and did all she could but owners wouldn’t allow a refund (or a replacement). They even had the cheek to say that we should leave instructions saying ‘less salty’ next time as if its our fault that they dropped it in the dead sea before delivering it. Very very poor customer service and they’ve lost a customer who’s been with them for years. (Ordered Salt & Chilli Chicken, prawns and chips)

Overcooked and tasteless won't order again

By far the best Chinese in Aberdeen.. Hard to find any half decent Chinese in Aberdeen but this one is amazing. Bigger portions than all other places and cooked to perfection.

Colorful and flavorful dishes, vegetables were fresh and tofu and chicken were well cooked. Delivery was quick. Will be ordering again.

This has got to be one of the best Chinese takeaway in Aberdeen. The food was superb and great value for the money.Staff are reliable and very friendly. Would definitely recommend Good Friend.

The manager and staff are absolutely appalling. Very rude over the phone when I was trying to obtain the companies VAT number after I had requested the vat receipt with my order. They failed to give me a VAT receipt and when I rang to ask for it they refused to give me it, even after I gave them all the information about my order. They told me it was illegal for me to even ask for the companies VAT number which is absolutely not true. Due to the abismal service I would never recommend this restaurant.

Did I catch them on a bad day? In a nutshell, I will not be returning. The portion sizes were small, and appeared to consist largely of very large greasy raw green peppers. The aromatic duck portion was difficult to find it was so small and cost £9.50. A tub of soup for 1, £6.80. Singapore noodles, not spicy, greasy, the ubiquitous peppers, the amount of meat and prawns included were risible. Even that great stalwart of the chinese takeaway, the bag of chips, was a small kids portion of very small, overcooked then soggy chips! 2 stars for it being ready on time and hot.

We had a delivery from Good Friends this evening. Absolutely gorgeous meal. 10/10 for the noodles and bean sprouts. Everything else was fantastic, two large portions and good quality taste.

Meal was OK and the time taken to prepare was prompt.

I was a regular customer at Good Friend. It used to be good but last order was poor quality and tasted off. I called to complain, the woman said I could have a refund and then checked with the kitchen. One of the staff then came on the phone and gave me abuse. I’m disappointed because I liked this place and normally friendly people. But today Good Friend showed their true colours!

Consistently great food and generous portions. You will not find a better Chinese Takeaway in Aberdeen.

This has been our go-to takeaway for years. Unlike others where their standards slip, Good Friend is consistently great with tasty food, good choice, good quality and fast delivery. Just hope they keep it up as really do love their food, probably a bit too much.

Quick delivery. Food way above average. Duck with pancakes was first rate. Will definitely order from them again.

I have used Good Friends a few times, but the last two have been I must say not very good at all, spare ribs just could not eat as they were just like rubber, free pieces of chicken just disgusting only thing I could eat was the chicken curry.

The order coming after 2 hours very unpleasant food all meat hard as a rock and the prawn totally chewing gum....the crackers look like they was fried al least 3 times I will avoid this place totally and never order again.be carefull as well with the staff as they are very rude and lie to your face.

Ordered rice noodles. I don’t eat meat. There was no mention of meat on the rice noodles. Opened the box when it arrived and full of chicken. I called Good Friend as thought I maybe received the wrong order, but no informed the rice noodles has chicken in this. I did say this should then perhaps be listed on the menu but no instead rudely advised that “it is your responsibility to call”. A very rude “manager” on the phone. I couldn’t believe what I heard. Safe to say I won’t be ordering from here again.

Alright food, good portion sizes. Wouldn't rush back as nothing really was amazing, just average Chinese

First time here, on recommendation from a couple of people. Had beef in black bean sauce, egg fried rice, noodles and salt and chilli chips. Fed 2 off us and still some left for tomorrow. All for under £16.00.

Just watched the rugby so felt like a treat. This food was wonderful, great portions extremely tasty, will definitely have this as our go to Chinese treat.

Best Chinese food I've had so far

Always struggled to find a Chinese takeaway we enjoyed in Aberdeen until they opened up next door to us. We've even moved since and still go back.

I’ve had food from Good Friend on maybe 4 or 5 occasions now and every time every dish has been amazing. In my opinion, the best Chinese food I’ve had in Aberdeen and the delivery times are super quick (I waited 30 minutes). My colleagues have ordered it to work a few times before so I’ve tried quite a wide range of their menu items and don’t have anything bad to say about any dishes, only good things! Would highly recommend giving Good Friend a shot next time you want Chinese food, I doubt you’ll be disappointed :)

We have had them a few times now, and we're always really impressed. Their portion sizes are really generous, and we are yet to find something we didn't like!

I tried this place as my usual takeaway was closed and I'm glad I did - The Good Friend is is the best Chinese Takeaway I have tried yet! The order arrived earlier than expected, the food was delicious - not greasy and it was restaurant quality. The portions were in decorative paper boxes and were generous in size. The price was also a couple of quid cheaper than my usual takeaway. I will definitely be using The Good Friend from now on and would highly recommend.

terrible, no flavour in any of it. rice chicken curry and prawn crackers all tasteless and the chicken tasted watery. I had the chicken Mary land and could eat any of the chicken because it was like a brick. horrible Chinese and I won't return also will be spreading the word to others

Great food fab prices and lovely people

Great food and massive portions' but wish the menu would have warned about mushrooms in the curry. This tainted the sauce and not as enjoyable as I think it could be. Rice and chips amazing. Wife was very happy with her battered chicken with sweet and sour sauce. The menu is a bit chaotic with some main meal items in the starter section for some reason.

My favorite takeaway!! The food is always amazing, decent size portions and it isn't greasy or leave you feeling bloated and bleurgh! Best Chinese in Aberdeen by far 👍🏻
