Good Earth in Eastleigh

The food is always so nice when we order and the service is very quick. We don’t ever have a Chinese from anywhere else as it’s just so lovely. They always do the requests if we leave them in the comments. We recommend them to everyone!

Gone massively down hill was my regular Chinese for nearly 4 years now going else where for my chinese

When the New Golden Wok food in CF became stupidly greasy, we tried Good Earth and the food doesn’t compare. Consistently excellent take away deliveries for many years. Taste wise it is trumped by the Peking Phoenix restaurant in Eastleigh, but the portions they deliver are ridiculously small in comparison so we’ve ditched them. Good Earth for us!

I have seen hair in the food and a snot found in my soup never ordering from there again! Plus very rude service to me a lot

Food is pretty good, but good luck when something goes wrong. We've had multiple issues with food turning up extremely late, not at all or the wrong orders, sometime a combination of those, when that does happen, there's not so much as a sorry, pitiful customer service, theres slim to no chance of getting any compensation either, will not be ordering from them again

Me and my family order from there website and they wanted us to selected times for delivery and they can't seem to deliver on time , tried calling them 5 time and adventurely got through and someone didn't under what we tried saying and said 15 more minutes . This is poor service

Absolutely awful food ordered 1/4 aromatic duck it wasn’t hot and had 5 small bones in and the leg bone with no meat on. Avoid this dish also less than a half a leg of meat. Chicken chow mein was oily and cold the chicken was pink and chewy was inedible and the prawn toast was in oil in the tub they served it in. Wouldn’t return has gone down hill since they closed for a while. Clearly a new chef and isn’t very capable to cook to previous standard. Lost a regular customer will go elsewhere now

Very good food and good service

Food was fresh, but everything tasted like vinegar. We had crispy chilli beef, kung-fu po King praw s a d sweet and sour sauce and everything tasted the same. The prawns were crispy which was good, but the taste put me off. Because of this I won't order again.

Chicken dry, mostly onions. Prawn fried rice, hard, uncooked and tasteless.

First time for over 2 years going here for a curry, and was not disappointed, really tasty.

First time here for along time ordered 2 curry’s, was not disappointed really tasty and the chicken was better than most have tried in Eastleigh.

Took money online and didn't deliver any food. Phoned no answer.

Take away Chinese meals. We had a set for two, which was more than enough for three! Very tasty and the price is affordable. Would definitely recommend and use it again.

Our food was delivered within 35 minutes of ordering from their easy-to-navigate webpage. The portions were decent and the food tasted nice

Ordered New Year's eve, as they opened as knew it would be busy. Order arrived, one dish missing. Called and was told 'its because we are busy' - not really an excuse. They didn't want to send the missing dish out but eventually agreed to and said it would be 30 minutes. 55 minutes later still no missing dish, called again and hadn't even been sent out. Finally turned up 20 minutes later when the delivery driver literally just threw the bag at me and walked off - no apology or anything, made out like it was my fault they didn't deliver the full order! That said, food was ok, although much smaller portions now, but based on the service received today, will be thinking twice.abkut using them again

Placed order for delivery at 17.15 as its new years eve i knew it would be delayed..finally arrived at 21.00 after 3 phonecalls.Had missing item so rung again to tell them and was delivered within 5 mins! Not once did i get an apology for them forgetting my order,the almost 4 hour delay or the missing item! Customer service is shocking!

OMG, Im 50 bla bla and have an immune compromised breathing, and digestion problem, however you have to live a little, all food is fantastic and piping hot, nothing is too much trouble, food taste, texture. consistency, fresh and you can taste food, not just sauce, fantastic 5 stars in my experience.

It's a shame this really was a good local Chinese but its lost its way

Online delivery timing does not work - can be over an hour late or half hour early - this is not communicated. Food tastes good but no gluten free menu online either.

Found the girl on the front desk very rude. Threw my change on thw counter and no hello thank you or good eve. Been using this takeaaay for a few years now so going to start looking else where as there is no need for rudeness.

With a heavy heart it's time to change my rating for Good Earth from 5 Stars.. As a loyal customer for 30+ years the past 12-24 months the food now being offered is awful. (New Cheif Maybe!?!) Rice tastes burnt, overcooked eggs, chilli beef, sesame prawn toast and more cremated! These complaints are not isolated to one order, all meals are now inconsistent and unappetizing. I took a 6month break from Good Earth but unfortunately once again the food ordered was way below par. I've always recommended Good Earth to family and friends but will no longer unless I hear things have changed.

Not ordered here for 12 years due to food was not up to other Chinese places standards , so we thought after 12 years what is it like now , we ordered at the counter and stated twice about the shrimp due to this stuff would cause hospital admition even death, even when stating it they was more interested in total price,, OK food not great, maybe 12 years again we will try it

Been going for year's and consistently good food.

Absolutely shocking, we waited for our food delivered for 2 hours, contacted again but phone kept ringing and kept contacting them for a while, said 15mins but actually 45 mins later the food finally arrived but we was missing some things, only had very small amount of sweet n sour enough for one chicken ball. Tried calling again kept trying trying no one was answering the phone. So we gave up and drove to them. Explained what happened, wasn't really apologetic so got told to wait so we did, Whilst we was waiting no one spent time in reception, only couple mins overall and the phones was ringing non stop and no one was answering the phone only picked once she kept apologising and said 15mins for delivery and said the same to me but actually ot was longer than 15mins. Eventually got the remaining food left that was missing but one was incorrect size got replaced straight away. Got apology in the end but didn't seem sympathetic. Just disappointing

I’ve been using good earth for good couple of years now the service lately has really gone down hill I ordered food last weekend when it arrived it with stone cold I phoned up about it for them to offer me £5 off my next order and later that night I started getting a bad stomach I didn’t feel right for a couple of day let’s just say I won’t be going back there again

Food is nice but always a long wait on collection! They say come in 20 mins but takes like 35-40 so sitting there for ages

Ordered for collection at 9pm. Waited in the shop with three other people, one who had been waiting for 3 hours. I had to bang the counter as no one would come out and the phone was constantly ringing. Eventually someone did come out and I asked the situation and sadly they couldn’t meet all the demands so I had a refund. I did feel really sorry for them but they should put a note out to stop people from ordering. This place has seriously gone downhill.

Service was abysmal waited for an hour over the estimated delivery and nothing had arrived and we had not been contacted that our food would be delayed. Tried to call for quarter of an hour before eventually getting though and was very carelessly told that it should arrive in half an hour. Half an hour later, there was still no sign of any food. So tried calling through on the phone and not having any luck for another 15 minutes. My partner decided to go down there to see what was happening and ask for our money back. There were 2 other people in the shop in the same scenario. One of them had been waiting an hour longer than us. We had been waiting a total of 2 and a half hours before getting our money back. So we were unable to order from elsewhere also. The food might be good, I am unable to confirm that, but if you would like to try it I would suggest you put your order in at least the night before

I ordered at and was told 6.15 delivery time. It got to 7.15 and no dinner. The wife phoned and asked where order was and was told that they didn't know. They put the wife on hold and never returned to the phone. They then hung up on her. She called straight back and asked to speak to manager and they did it again. We have since been trying to ring them and called over 300 times ( screen shot proof ) and still no answer. We now have no dinner and we a £30 out of pocket. The people on the phone were rude to the wife. Avoid this restaurant or else you will be treated poorly and not get your food and have to pay for the privilege. This will be taken further. Disgraceful

Gone down hill fast. Missing items from order last time, card never refunded. Tonight the pancakes in the crispy duck we were unable to eat. Expensive rubbish from here, definitely eat elsewhere

Luckily, this was noticed before we could eat it. When flagging this problem up, all we got was a non commital sorry and what felt like a shrug of the shoulders. They added that their noodles didn't have egg in them but other foods did - as if we should already have known this. For anyone with a severe allergy to egg, this could potentially be dangerous. On the menu, it said Mushroom Rice, not Mushroom and Egg, yet this is what we got. If you have allergies, I advise you to have a serious think about whether to buy from this business. Oh, and it took 1 hour and 45 minutes to receive our order from the time it was placed. Again, no explanation, just a sorry. This is no way to run a business. Very disappointing. p.s. The food we could actually eat was in fact tasty and the portion sizes good. Just a shame that the service was such a big let down.

Do not order from here!!! Overpriced, rude staff, our food took over 2 hours. Tried to call for over 40mins their phone was engaged. My partner went down to the takeaway to cancel order, it was full of others complaining about the same scenario. The delivery driver turned up during this time and was exceptionally rude when I told him we'd been waiting over 2 hours. Never wasting our money here again.

Rude and unhelpful staff. The guy on the phone was so abrupt even just taking the order, sounded like he couldn’t give a toss. Food arrived hardly warm and was very greasy. Go elsewhere, there are far better places on the area!

Found this take away by accident. Definitely the best we’ve had! Every dish we’ve ordered has been delicious. We order direct on the website, food is delivered on time & always hot. Would highly recommend.

price is £2.50 for a bag of chips too much if u ask me could buy two bags of potatoes 🥔 for that

Ordered food about almost 2 hours ago (8:12pm) still hasn't arrived it is currently 9:56pm i rung up and asked why it hasn't arrived they then blamed it on busy times and said wait 5 minutes its been 40 minutes since that call one of the worst customer service situations I've ever had to deal with shameful shoddy service.

Terrible Chinese. Incredibly rude and uninterested staff. I have never dealt with such an ignorant and rude man when contacting any business for their services. Clearly not interested at all. Didn’t even get to ordering food as he was so incredibly rude. Now reading the reviews I am glad I didn’t. I used to use this Chinese regularly around a year ago and it was fantastic. Never spoken to this man before. Must be under new management and clearly its terrible! Find a better Chinese or order a different takeaway!

This place used to be fantastic and we regularly travelled to here from Fair Oak. However nowadays it has gone seriously downhill. Don’t waste your money! Uninterested and bored looking staff. Food truly disgusting and inedible. We attempted to eat our last meal from here but struggled to swallow more than a couple of mouthfuls and the majority went in the bin. From speaking to friends who also used to swear by this takeaway, lots have had recent very bad experiences and all are now avoiding it. Real shame as was lovely for years. Guessing new management/staff?

Ordered delivery service, online, arrived on time and all dishes were very good. BBQ ribs were best I have had in a while. Beef and green pepper, and chinese pork also very good.

Ordering on line was easy. Delivery was on time, almost to the minute. But I seriously wish it hadn't come. Chicken pad thai tasted burnt and bland. They forgot to put beef in the crispy beef, but apparently the chicken balls were ok though. Prawn crackers were nice. Not going to order from here again.

Been going here for years, its the best chinese in the area. The Singapore fried rice is very tasty. The lady in there is so friendly and helpful. Delivery always on time.

Best takeaway in town - fast - fresh and their new online ordering is great - the Thai Red and satay sticks all day :) Nom - an understated gem!

Only Chinese shop I use always polite staff food always hog lots of beef and chicken if your having curry, my son loves the spicy stripped beef and dry chicken chow mein and always gets a free calendar every year.

My food turned up cold, phoned up to say about it, then got told I just need to put it in the microwave. Also got my drink order wrong! Terrible service.

Have to say food is very tasty. I dread saying but.. but the portions are very small in size compared to many other take always. The tubs are way from the rim . ( not greedy just saying). Food is nice but amount is small..

I'm not a person to moan. I go there all the time and they are great for collection but I finished late and thought I'll get delievery after a long day. But 2 hours later and I'm still waiting. They ring to say I can't find you. I'm not to angry that they coundnt find me I'm more angry is that it toke 2 hours and then they rung me. I will not be asking for delivery again I will just collect.

I tried them out recently because I live locally and found the food very tasty .. I rang ahead and preplaced the order and it was ready for me when I arrived .. fairly easy to park .. I had chicken chop suey and special fried rice ..

We ordered a large meal for my so sons birthday, everything tasted great and it arrived quickly like it always does.

The food was completely burned and smelled so badly that we needed open all windows in the flat!

Is it possible to be more interested in your customers food order then ignoring there food order giving them the wrong food to make money , reputation is massive , if I ended up in a and e , you would know from a professional yet again got it wrong , money means more then coustomer satisfaction .

Ordered what was supposed to be a chicken Penang. A spicy Thai coconut dish. Was simply chicken pieces swimming in coconut milk. Called to discuss. Lady was not interested, made excuses.

Chicken balls tuff and greasy chow mein was in some nasty sauce chips dry looked like they have been sat for some time bbq sauce not bad but paying 20 quid for bbq sauce takes the piss all went in the bin wouldn't go back there if you payed me.

I ordered a meal online and expected it to take no more that 1 hr however it arrived after 1hr 20 mins The quality of the food was excellent much better than where we normally go however the portion size of the crispy chilli beef was not a full portion it was only half the tray Our bill came to over 30 and I was under the impression that we would receive a free bottle of Diet Coke unfortunately this didn t arrive with our meal Due to the negatives of our meal not sure if I would order online again.

Been using good earth for a few years. Premises is very clean, staff are always polite & importantly the food is very good & well presented. Best to pre order as they only cook to order & the you may have to wait a while but it's worth it!
