Good Cooking Chinese in Edinburgh, City of

Apparently open till 11. On numerous occasions I have attempted to get take away or walk ins and it’s closed. Either be open or not. Plenty choices, in local area. Don’t expect service in working hours. Just pre empt disappointment

Excellent food, speedy service!

Ordered for the first time online at 1820hrs with waiting time of 40-50mins. Order eventually arrived at 1955hrs. Spring rolls were luke warm but after heating up were very delicious and packed full of filling. Obviously by the time the rolls were finished the main was cold but still very tasty. Will give it another go and hopefully will arrive on time and hot 🙏

This is a carry out business and does not have a sit in facility. The food is very good

The food was delicious but the delivery time could have ben better, but overall it is a good place to order. I would highly recommend trying it out.

I've only ordered takeaway from here once, so I can't speak to consistency, but my food arrived within 30 minutes of ordering, hot and delicious. Website is easy to use and no issues.

Always have a positive experience here with the food and staff. Staff are always super friendly and the place is always clean! Nice seating area to wait if your food isn’t ready and food is usually fresh.

No real atmosphere its just a take away but the food is really good.

Usually use good cooking all the time but this time the food was luke warm and the sweet and sour sauce was far to thick and my pineapple fritters were burnt waste of money !!!

The food was cold. Spent over £30 and food was awful. We use this Chinese a lot. If you phone for collection tonight, brilliant service. Tonight we ordered a delivery. Terrible. Do not order delivery

Used to be a great take away. Had over cooked and under cooked chips in the same tray. Most Chinese locally seem to have went the same way unfortunately.

Food was good service friendly and helpful delivery time was good. I'll definitely use this place again.

Hit or miss if its good food or not. The meals have never been consistently good for me.

Only disappointment was the rice was a bit stodgy.

food took 90 minutes to arrive, all the food was cold. not worth the money and won't be using again

First time ordering just put it in the bin wow how can they think that’s ok to serve will not use them again . Now ordering again from somewhere else 🙈

This has always been my favourite place for Chinese food but unfortunatley u have reverted back to the battered down think chicken, I predered the chicken REAL chicken off the bone the one you guys used in lockdown as you can really tell the difference and all in all its makes a better meal!! And I'd then give u the 5stars that you deserve

Everyone should avoid this place. If you would see the kitchen where your food is prepared ,I'm pretty sure you would never order again. All the shop is disgusting. We had to wait outside for our food since they don't let you wait inside. And their kitchen door is just over there.. it was open and i could see how they prepare the food... The floor was black from the dirt, same with the walls. I really think someone should report this place, cause they definitely need to be closed down. Plus we didn't even try our food cause the person that took our order didn't understand me, and gave something we don't order.. anyway food was soaking in oil and didn't look tasty at all.

I gave this place another chance and sorry to say the food was abosloutly disgusting and as usual cold The chips were reheats and the chicken curry Was disgusting all went in the bin Give this place a wide berth Hui just along from it is a lot cleaner and food a lot better. Keep away as the kitchen is absolutely filthy Should be reported toEnviromental health And closed down

Needs to clean the kitchen when they have The door open the walls are absolutely thick with fluff He’s over priced food is not too bad but always cold When it get delivered Needs a good clean and a coat of paint

Absolutely worst ever chicken curry ive ever had, my wife said same about the sweet n sour chicken, the saving grace was the bbq spare ribs, totally shocked n disgusted .

My partner placed an order for my dinner, had to phone up & ask them to where it was, because it was late, the person taking the call was rude (I heard her) & said that the driver called my partner (lies) came to our door (lies) & no one answered (lies). They said they'd re do the order, he said that was fine, thank you & he was still happy to pay. Now it's 20:54PM, apparently it's been delivered (more lies), so I've had to order my dinner from somewhere else. Avoiding this place like the plague from now on. Can't be bothered with them & they have shown they can't be trusted. If we had ordered & opted to pay by card instead of cash, we'd be out of pocket & still no food & they'd have been £24 - £25 richer & rubbing their hands together. Also can't stand that they were rude to my partner on the phone & telling lies. I don't care for time wasters. Because they haven't delivered the food we would have happily paid for, they have not gotten money & have lost perfectly good money & custom. Well shot of them to be honest.

Wouldn't recommend this place at all. Food went to the bin. We ordered few different things and the quality of all of them was really bad.. Everything was soaking in soya sauce,I couldn't even taste anything and my partner's noodles was so oily that by the time we got home with the food we had oil all over the takeaway bag they gave us.I think it's really a shame to sell food like this not even trying to do your job and prepare food worth paying for.

Ordered a take away at 10.55pm they took my order and my payment through my card and never delivered in absolutely furious and will be going in tomorrow for full refund always use this Chinese won't be anymore that's for sure!!

Staff didnt install any confidence in there abilities Ended the conversation after repeating my post code 5 times my door number 3 times and my order 4 times the person on he phone spoke perfect english aswell so the accent or language did not play a factor here. Wanted a night off from cooking the family dinner Did not want to worry if id have to call again or go back because we had been given the wrong thing or over charged.

Had food from many chinese takeaways in Edinburgh and Good Cooking is one of the best by far.

Great Chinese takeout, lemon chicken is to die for

Got food yesturday and it was very bad. I will not ORDER again from this place as after 2 bites feom my main course i was so disappointed and upset from such poor quality. The starter of chicken wings was of poor quality the main course was inedible. I can only hope if you order from this god forsaken place you have a better food quality and service good luck.

Fantastic take away. Ordered chicken wings & special curry & fried rice to collect. Ready bang on time. Really good food. I have found my new favourite Chinese takeaway.

Used to go here a lot, food I would say was usually quite good but varied massively. They were terrible at deliveries and always took one hour plus, one time took 2 hours and no apology and phoned to check several times and no one had a clue and told me several times it would 'be there in 5 mins'. Poor service but decent food

Absolutely shocking food was freezing chicken bits in it I've never been so sick and when I phoned to complain guy was a total waste of time refused to refund me and pick up the food will be calling environmental health I wouldn't feed a dog the food they're serving
