Golf Links House Restuarant in Down

One of the best places in Newcastle to eat! As a family we have booked multiple boxing day meals, a christening meal, confirmations birthdays and even just called in for sunday lunch and every time has been faultless! Most recently for afternoon tea. Paddy and the team at Golf links House are always so accommodating for any occasion always happy to help! The food is 10/10 always beautiful! I don’t think you could find a better place to dine!! Highly recommend

As usual the food was superb and the service excellent. Friendly but not familiar. Although they had a large party going on, there was no delay in the timing of our food delivery. Of particular mention is my husband's panfried salmon which was beautifully cooked with a crispy skin and served with delicious fresh vegetables and my friend's turkey and ham which would satisfy even the hungriest customer. My chicken and liver parfait was as smooth as silk and full of flavour with the onion marmalade adding an extra bite. Prices are very reasonable. The terrace at the front of the hotel is a perfect spot for al fresco lunch, smokers and the family pets The Golflinks is literally a home from home, a cozy, comfy family run hotel.

What a beautiful spot, the hotel itself is beautiful inside and out, we had a room Iver looking the local golf course, the staff were beyond attentive, Sean and caitlin were above exemplary and made our stay very memorable. All the staff were incredible and I'd gladly spend time here again

We have been to Golf Links as a family twice in recent weeks. We were very impressed by the friendly welcome and extensive menu. The food was excellent and I highly recommend the steak sandwich. Front of house staff were very personable and we look forward to returning again very soon.

Total disaster arrived with 2 kids and 2 adults and was asked if we booked (there was 8 people in the whole place) I said no was that ok. It was so we sat in the bar area. 15 mins to get kids 2 apple juice and waiting 30 mins before -( after seeing another couple get served before us) get up and ask was there a problem as we had not ordered yet. The answer was “the chef told me the waiter to not take anymore orders as he was busy with the 8 covers”??? I had 2 kids 6 and 10 years old they won’t wait another 30 mins maybe 1 hour total so I said I’m sorry we need to leave. Being polite I asked if we owed for the 2 apple juice expecting a don’t worry about it but oh no £4.40 for 2 cartons of apple juice omg. Never ever again will we go there had to eat chips in the car up the road for dinner what a complete disaster beware of this place until they get staff it’s avoid avoid avoid from me.

Called in today after a previous very good Experience. Lunch was £10 per person, which is great Value. However, the Service was not good. One Gammon steak arrived out with a steak knife in it covered with a jam like Substance. As I was paying and when asked how the Meal was, I advised that I had left most of mine due to the standard and I mentioned the Knife to the "Server", he shrugged his Shoulders and asked what I wanted him to do...I simply replied to take a few pounds off the Bill, which included Drinks as we all make Mistakes. Nope. I know times are tough for everyone, and that includes us, which is why you want to spend and support Businesses where you can. Owner Input ? Do what you like !

Went there for mother's day the food was delicious and the staff were very friendly attentive and professional would definitely recommend and be back again

Following a walk nearby we called in for dinner. May have been the person booking he asked us to pre-order. When we arrived no one else was in. Few followed but not that busy. Two starters ordered ribs pretty average. 6 main courses. Have to say mine was ok nothing special. Followed by pudding.

Superb quality food & staff brilliant. Ate twice in 3 days one was Sunday lunch & the quality of food was superb. On arrival was shown to our seats & drinks order taken. Peter & his staff go over & above to make your visit very relaxed & fun & that with good quality food is a hit! Real wee gem & prices were good too! The burgers & Sunday lunch I would really recommend.

Staff where lovely food was rotten definitely will not be back 2nd visit there also. Got turkey ham stuffing dinner completely tasteless

The family and myself visited on a sunday a typical busy day. The staff were friendly, accommodating and attentive. The food was very good and we all enjoyed our visit. Very clean and spacious. A homely feel to it . We would recommend and look forward to visiting again.

As a family of 6 we came to the golf links for Christmas aafternoon tea today. Due to covid we hadn't been able to get together for over 2 years so was lovely to spend time with mum and the sisters. Well what can I say about the golf links, first on arrival we were greater by a real friendly member of staff who showed us to our table and brought us glasses of prosecco. The afternoon tea was unreal started by soup served in little te cups, then followed by an array of sandwiches, scones, cakes and buns which were all fantastic. We even had one sister who is gluten free and the selection she received was amazing see pictures below. She couldn't believe how much she had got and all very similar to the rest of us. The restaurant was very relaxed and the atmosphere was great the staff all helped in getting us into the Christmas spirit. The food was second to none and the price was very reasonable for everything we got. We will definitely be back very soon. If we weren't too rowdy for yous. Highly recommend you visit this place with family or friends. I only got pictures of the gluten free selection as the rest of us were to busy eating ours lol

Love the golf links! We go here as often as we can. To date the food has been beautiful! The most friendly staff helping in any way possible. Prompt service. Iv made my way through most of the menu so I’d recommend it all really! Perfect place to dine with children.

As previous owners of a B & B up until our retirement we always expect a lot when we are on the receiving end. And we weren't disappointed. Staff great; food wonderful & on the whole very impressed with our 3 night stay. Already in our diary for another visit as hubby is a rambler and loves the Mournes for walking & climbing. Give Golf Links a try & you will not be disappointed.

We had our wedding here on 21st June and what an amazing day it was!! The food, drinks and service were impeccable. Patrick and his staff are fantastic and were there from start to finish to make sure all went as planned. If you are looking for an imitate and welcoming wedding venue for your guests then this is the place to go.

Everytime we visit Newcastle, as a family we always call into the Golf Links. The staff are amazing with the kids, always putting smiles on their faces & guaranteed a good feed & not overpriced either.Sundays always a good day for lunch however sometimes if we're in the area on a Friday or Saturday night we'd call in for the grill menu. During a recent visit to my horror they've changed the grill menu, no mixed grill!! This was my favourite dish having eaten here many times, I'd asked the server who said they don't do it anymore.No doubt we will still return in the near future but would love to see my favourite dish back on the menu

Sixteen of us dined here on a Sunday for my mums 70th Birthday. The service was excellent, and the food was fantastic, with a great choice and plenty of it. It was table service, rather than buffet service and both children and adults were catered for well. We had organised a cake for mums birthday and they brought it out, dimmed the lights and sang happy birthday. Reasonably priced and Great food. We'll definitely be back soon

Myself & eight of my friends went here for afternoon tea. The food was delicious, there was soup, sandwiches, prawns cocktail, scones & the selection of mini deserts was fantastic. The staff are extremely good at there jobs & made sure we had a perfect time. Highly recommend

I booked a surprise birthday Sunday lunch for my husband and his family. There were 9 adults and 3 kids in total, and everyone had a great experience. The food was excellent and very good value and the service was very friendly. The set menu was £15 for 2 courses and £17 for 3 which we thought was great value. I had the pork medallions for main course and I would order it again. My 18 yr old daughter is a pescatarian and can be hard to please but her sea bass with noodles more than pleased her. The 3 kids were the only ones who had deserts but wow they look amazing. Everyone texted me later to say what a lovely meal it was, so I felt the whole thing was a great success and we will definitely go there again as a family.

Despite not having a reservation, there were lots of free tables on a Friday night. We were quickly shown to our table, paper tablecloths.... Menu has the usual options, we had chicken curry, lasagne and goujons. With a glass of wine and four cokes our bill was £49.70.

Visited here, again, with our friend Mary-Clare, who lives in Newcastle - we live in Belfast. When we call to see MC she loves to go out for something to eat. This last few times we have gone to the Golf Links. Always inviting, always friendly and the food is fantastic, with generous portions. Now, we wouldn't go past it. Well done Golf Links, Newcastle again!

Easter Sunday - late afternoon lunch. Service wasn't great, plenty of staff but they seemed very distracted. We hadn't booked however we were seated in the bar area which was quiet, which suited us perfectly.. Had to call a staff member to order drinks and then had to call again to order food. Food was nice.

Stayed at Golf Links House for two nights and had a really good stay. Breakfast was very good and staff were pleasant and helpful. Room was clean and had everything I needed. Good value for money and I would stay here again ☺

Booked a table for four people to celebrate my sons engagement.We were given a friendly and warm welcome and nothing was a problem for the staff.Had a couple of drinks in the reasonably priced bar before dinner and our food order was taken so that we could have our meals as soon as we were finished. Service was excellent and the food was great. good size portions and doggy boxes were provided to take home what we could not eat.Too good to waste. The surroundings were very comfortable and the decor was lovely. We will be back.

This restaurant is very well furnished, it's clean and warm, but seems to cater for a certain type of clientele........old people. There was a function in full swing as we arrived for lunch (Age Concern annual dinner dance) we were shown to a table away from the oldies and were swamped with well meaning and professional staff providing coffee, the offer of top up's and efficiency of order taking, care of our grandson and provision of our order in record time. However, the food was awful, my steak was overcooked and devoid of taste, the chicken overcooked, the sauce, goodness knows what it was, but it covered my meal and rendered it almost inedible. I ordered garlic potatoes and received potatoes that were soft and smothered in what tasted like margarine. My wife's salmon was better though the accompanying vegetables were overcooked. I didn't have the heart to complain given the staff's hard work to make us welcome. I hope the oldies enjoyed there function.

We dined here recently and after reading reviews expected a great experience... unfortunately was just ok. As we were staying overnight we went to restaurant in the afternoon and requested to book a particular table. On arrival at our booked time someone else was sitting there and I did say to the guy who greeted us who just said he didn't know about our booking and we had to pick another table, not a great start. We both went with the 3 course xmas menu sounded lovely.My meal was good but my other half who is diabetic not so great. He choose salmon and prawn starter, just about got a forkful of salmon and onions throughout the bit of salad served with it. He ordered beef done rare but instead received extremely well done beef.needless to say he did not eat it all, he asked for desert of just a wee bit of cheese, was told sorry only served grated cheese.... he was not given any further options. We did though receive a free coffee as way of apology but at this stage it really didn't matter as our experience had not been great. I will say though that the guys serving were lovely absolutely no reflection on them . Would we eat there again sorry but no, customer satisfaction is so important and on this occasion it did not work.

This is an old fashioned establishment and has been on the go for a while. It is comfortable and welcoming/ The food is good honest fare and it won't break the bank.

Great food and ambiance. 5 star, we were on holiday with the parents as it was their anniversary. Booked in the morning for 18:30 no problems

After reading all the reviews I was really looking forward to friendly staff, large portions, and a nice welcome - but we didn't get any of that :-( Maybe they were having an off-night. Don't feel like paying for another test though, sorry

Called in to the golf links for dinner on Saturday have passed it many times over the years and always wondered what it was like . Well I'm glad we found out it's a great place food is fantastic staff are very friendly and helpful will be back many times in the future so if you travel to Newcastle County Down this place is a must

This small (chic) hotel sis as the name suggests, on the edge of one of the great golf courses- Royal County Down, which has played host to Presidents and all sorts of celebrities. I digress...

This is the third night on the trot we have eaten in the golf liñks first night we didn't book a table so we ate in the bar .really nice place big table inside the windows good honest food .last night we had booked so e're in the dining room. It's very fancy with it's old world tables and plush valour seats again another bang tidy meal.and tonight we tryed the take away dinners. Massive portions for any take out food and still high quality of good. You quite simply need to go yourself and try it .

Went to the Golf Links as part of a large family group - we had been advised by one of the family members that the food is very good and plentiful so with that in mind I didn’t order any starters and chose the chicken and bacon stack in peppercorn sauce with sweet chili potatoes on the side. My meal was very tasty and homely, the sweet chili potatoes were excellent but I was glad that I didn’t order a starter as it was very filling and the portion was rather big. The staff at the Golf links were all very friendly and efficient and the food as mentioned was lovely and filling so I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Newcastle

Have been too golf links house quite often in the last couple of yrs ...family meals are always enjoyed here...staff are so friendly,very accomodating & nothing is too much trouble...good sized portions & mum always ends up taking home what she cant eat,lol....thank you Peter & staff for always making us welcome....we will be back soon...

We had come over for a family holiday and were recommended to visit the Golf Links for their great food and reasonable prices and it lived up to all expectations. We skipped the starters as we were advised portion sizes are rather large and what a decision it was! I had the Chicken & Bacon Stack which was really large and filling and I ordered a side of Chips which came in a massive bowl. As there was a large group of about 12 there was quite a good range of meals that covered everyone's tastes. I would advise to only go for the mains as the food is amazing but is far too large especially the sides as we ended up with bowls of chips coming out one after the other. I would loved to have tried the desert menu but I was stuffed just after the mains.

Out for Sunday lunch, 4 adults and 2 grand children. This place is a goldmine. The menu was good. The food Very well presented and tasted as good as it lookedThe staff were brilliant. Very friendly and helpful. All 6 of us left happy and full.

Enjoyed lunch here recently as part of a large group. Food portions are very ample and the meal was tasty though the service was unusual as my meal arrived promptly and no one else got theirs, after a polite interval waiting I was encouraged to start eating by others before the food was cold, indeed I had finished before everyone else was served. I personally found this a bit awkward, though staff were very pleasant and polite. We enjoyed a very nice pudding and tea and shortbread after lunch and surroundings are nice.

The steak was out of this world. Flavoursome and cooked to perfection. Sides where more than acceptable. Lovely location with helpful staff.

we eat here alot asnd the staff r very good and the manager is a nice person they r helful the ordering off the food slow but very good place the food and drinks r very good price i have been telling alot off people to try the golf links imight even try a night break there to see if the rooms r very good i would say they r the chef is the best i seen cooking food in years

We stopped here for lunch and we're delighted with the food. The staff are very attentive and the prices are very reasonable.Well worth a visit if only for Coffee and scones.

Dining Room, Lounge area and toilets were all absolutely freezing. There didn't seem to be any heating on at all in February!! One of the Bar Waiters had been given no training whatsoever, did not know the difference between Soda Water & Tonic Water, Red Wine or Rose Wine to the point he was physically shaken by his mistakes ( please train your staff - totally unfair to put another person under this pressure!) Food was plentiful and tasty - but the waitress were unconcerned about their guests needs. Requests had to be repeated until they got it right! Its a busy place so service should be much better. The menu was very reasonably priced, decor was very dated.

The food it's excellent here every-time I visit (which is quite often) it has a lovely atmosphere & the staff are friendly & can't do enough for you.

My wife and I called here, just lately with our old friend Mary-Clare. who is 84 years of age. We have used this restaurant quite a few times over the years and it just gets better and better. The staff are always very attentive, especially to Mary Clare who is a wee bit slow on her feet but loves her food.There is ample parking right at the front door and it is easy to get into the building. The reception is always positive and nothing is too much trouble. Oh, and the food is excellent!

i attended a 40 plus dinner party in this establishment a few days ago and the standard of service and the quality of the food makes me want to return again soon...lovely setting beneath the Mountains of Mourne and the exceptionally attractive town of Newcastle.

Lovely night out with work colleagues. 7 of us really enjoyed are meals just sorry I didn't take photo of the platter which was to die for.

We always made sure to have a dessert after every meal. In fact one night we both decided to have only dessert for our dinner meal!

Had an excellent Sunday Lunch here recently. There were 10 adults in our party and we were all served promptly. Starters, Main Courses and desserts were first class with empty plates all round! Good value for money and very tasty food. Have eaten here a few times and it never disappoints. Beautiful dining room décor also. Will most certainly be back.

Dined at the Golf Links House in September for Sunday lunch. A great selection of food and all at a great price. My wife and I are quite particular about Sunday lunch and especially portion size. There was plenty to eat but you didn't leave feeling like you were going to explode. Staff and service was both quick and friendly. Decor in the dining room has been redone and it looks super and more up to date. Well done. Will definitely return again.

Thirty of our members had high tea here as part of a mystery tour day out. The restaurant is very disability friendly and we all commented on the friendliness of the staff. The food was superb. Huge helpings very well presented. All home cooked very tasty food. The emergence of beautiful home made shortbread was a very unexpected but welcome bonus. We could not fault anything. Top class on all fronts especially service and value.

Had a meal here with a few friends. The portions were good and he food itself was really fantastic. If I were a meat eater I'd have gone for the sharing platter. It looked huge!Will definitely come back again.

First time visiting this establishment with my partner. Outside looks very modern and inviting. Inside feels very welcoming and warm and the decor suites the feel of the place. The food and presentation was amazing. The taste of the food was fantastic and well cooked. Congrats to the chef and his or her team. Staff were very professional and customer driven and the service was fantastic. Would defiantly return to this location and would advise couples or families in this locations to visit this place and enjoy the food and hospitality. You will not be disappointed.

We hadn't eaten here in about 5 years so thought we'd give it a try,but won't be back.We had booked a table and yet upon arrival there was no one to greet us so we stood in the hallway for 20mins until we eventually attracted a waitress's attention.Garlic mushrooms,as a starter, cooked in thick burnt batter.....soooo greasy with a thimble of garlic mayo and served with a side of damp,wilted lettuce leaves.One of our mains was either "off" or not cooked thoroughly as the smell was noted by everyone at our table and was inedible so had to be sent back.Garlic sauté potatoes were served in a tin pot half filled with oil and totally tasteless.Roast Beef was lovely although the "champ" was again,tasteless and didn't look or taste like champ,lots of little hard lumps of potato all through it.Waiting staff seemed very busy and did try their best to accommodate us but I'm afraid the food left a lot to be desired.Cut back on the oil/batter/grease and heavy on the seasoning!!

We decided to go out at the last minute to celebrate our wedding anniversary and my daughters birthday. The meal was first class and great value. We opted for the platter for 2 starter and when it came out it fed the 5 of us!! We'll be back

We had intended to eat here for years - at last we did (without a reservation). A very very good experience. Great choice on menu but staff and kitchen flexible, friendly and efficient. Portions large, not over ambitious but very well executed. Highly recommended (and good value)

Again another visit to our favourite, family place in Newcastle, Co Down. Always stay at the B&B so always eat in the restaurant, this time i ordered from the specials menu, Texas Combo Platter at £15. WOW......on a spinning, platter i tucked into, barbecue ribs, enchilada with tomato sauce, sweet chilli wedges, corn on the cob, beef tacco mince with tacco shell, cheese and jalapeño nachos, barbecue beans, 3 HUGE onion rings, salad, guacamole and texan dip. What a choice...all cooked to perfection and tasted AMAZING....easily this would feed 2/3 people as big portions all round. Has to be the best Combo i have ever had and needles to say that i could barely move afterwards. Golf Links House i tip my hat to you again for out of this world food and service.

Took my mum and mother in law for a birthday treat. Welcomed with a smile and table reserved at the window. Tea and selection of tea wating for us to try and a fresh just of iced water also.Within 5 mins . The wonderful selection of tray bakes savouries sandwiches and scones with cream jam and butter all arrived.Talk about value for money's Service top quality alsoCan't wait to get back

During the year have visited the Golf Links many times and have never been disappointed.My Wife and I called in over Easter and although they were fully booked the managed to set us up with a table for two delicious starter,main course and only one desert between the two of us. The staff were well! Very pleasant helpful and nothing was too much bother,and can not fault them at all WELl DONE.Can not recommend the Golf Links high enough and if you are passing definitely callin and I am sure you won't be disappointed , I will be.

Our family booked this restaurant for a Holy Communion meal last Saturday and we were not disappointed. The restaurant was catering for 16 tables I believe, over 2 sittings and the food was fabulous. The waiting staff are so pleasant, and they helped in every way they could - beyond the norm. Paddy himself is very pleasant and checked and checked again that everyone was enjoying their meal - nothing was too much trouble. We have used this restaurant before for a family party and again, it was well planned and executed. Parking is great and it is so conveniently situated. Well worth a visit if you are looking good food, family feeling, excellent waiting staff, and well priced.

We just had a party on Saturday in Golf Links House to celebrate our wedding 4 weeks ago.The night was amazing from start to end, Paddy the owner, couldn't have been more helpful and arranged it all for us. All our guests had a lovely time, the food was excellent and plenty of it! They even catered for my gluten free diet.The staff were very friendly and very helpful.My husband and I stayed overnight and the room was lovely with great views of the Mournes, breakfast was good and again catered for my diet.We will definitely be back soon and will recommend it to our family and friends.

A very easy to find restaurant with good parking facilities. The staff are very attentive and friendly. Waitering was first class. There is a wide range of foods on the menu as well as a specials. All of us made different choices and we all enjoyed what we got. The portions are generous and very well presented. We have been there before and most likely we will be back again.

This is an excellent restaurant. The menu had loads to choose from & the food did not disappoint. The kids menu had so much choice, one of the best I've seen. I couldn't fault the service, our waiter was very friendly & helpful. I will definitely be back.

We visited Golf Links House again on Sunday 13th March 2016. I must admit that this restaurant is a favourite of mine. The menu is diverse, offering a wide selection of dishes. Service is always quick and friendly, as befits a family-run establishment. There is also a good selection of wines, beers and spirits on offer.On this occasion, we opted to share the Combo Platter for starters. Deep-fried mushrooms in (very) crispy batter, spicy chicken goujons, wedges and succulent ribs covered in barbeque sauce, all accompanied by a tasty and crispy salad with dips. Yum. We cleared the lot! For mains, Maeve had the pork fillet cordon bleu. A very generous portion on a bed of champ. She found it delicious, with the smoked cheese grilled on the outside adding a piquancy to the dish. I had the pulled pork burger with garlic cubed chips. Hint - you don't need the chips as the brioche bun is large and tasty. The pulled pork with barbecue sauce was delicious and a large portion (happy dogs when we got home). To finish, I had the brownie with chocolate sauce (never tasted better) and Maeve the Ferrero Rocher cheesecake (oh, ambassador). It was also delicious with a firm base and a melt in the mouth topping.Overall, a fantastic meal in a well-run, family-friendly restaurant. We keep coming back here because, as it says above, it never fails to delight. Great value for money, comfortable seating and a bar area to wait in. What more could you want?

Can't thank the staff enough there was 9 of us 5 adults 4 kids ( 3 kids have AUSTIM ) don't eat some foods the staff couldn't do enough for us and the kids let us bring in kids own food from kfc and also let the kids charge the iPad best place to go kind of place I like to go to I'll be back and the food was gorgeous we all got 3 course meal and make best cocktails ever lol can't wait to go back thanks again to all the staff at golf links house restaurant :) brilliant can't thank them enough

staff rude and unhelpful even for simple things made you feel very embarrassed.This is a hotel in Newcastle I will not be visiting again due to the behaviour of the manager who said he was very busy and could not deal with .. arrived home very upset by the experience to the restaurant

I have eaten here many times wih family and friends and organised groups they do a good choice mid price range menu and its it a nice location with good parking. The service can be slow

once again we were thrilled with the service and menu at this hospitable restaurant and hotel from the ease of being on the outskirts of newcastle,the disabled car parking and the friendly helpful staff to the good food made a great memory

Celebrated a double birthday here with a party of 15. Fantastic food and a great atmosphere! All meals were served together and only a short wait before the food arrived. A great choice of menu and very friendly staff.

We were staying in the Slieve Donard Hotel and we decided to go out to eat. This restaurant is amazing with lots of choice and good value for money. My husband and I had the starter of battered mushrooms which were lovely followed by the steak - equally as nice. Staff were very pleasant as were the surroundings. Would definitely return here

Was here tonite for a friends birthday 3 adults and 2 children. Absolutely fantastic staff very attentive and fantastic service. The food was amazing!! Steak cooked to perfection. Highly recommend.

Very nice location on the main dundrum road on the outskirts of newcastle. Beautiful food and service very good. Suitable for either large groups, small parties, couples or a great wedding venue. Parking facilities are adequate and overnight accommodation is available.

Golf Links over exceptional value for money. The food is very tasty, homemade food and plenty of it! There are a variety of menus to choose from depending what time you visit at.

Our GAA club recently held a function at the Golf Links. The venue was fantastic as was our finger buffet. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating and we had absolutely no faults with the event. First class!

My cousin had her wedding here recently on the 30th July and we had a fantastic day. Customer service is second to none, and everything ran so smoothly. Peter behind the bar kept the drinks flowing freely, and anything we asked for was no trouble at all. Teas, coffees, wines beers, cocktails and shots! And each included service with genuine warmth and banter. The venue is very suitable to those with families as everything is on one level and we knew the kids were safe. Paddy and his team worked tirelessly to keep the wedding running smoothly and I can honestly say its a wedding where I truly relaxed as a guest. The food on the other hand blew me away. It was spectacular. I am not a fan of turkey and ham, and if I could get away with not having it at Christmas I most certainly would, but at Golf Links house I could have had an extra two portions (only I was fit to burst). Its the nicest I have ever had, and would consider returning for more. The portion sizes were extremely generous and piping hot. The stuffing, potatoes and carrots were full of flavour and truly delicious. The same can be said for the desserts also, although again I could only eat a spoonful or two. Golf links House really surpassed our expectations and its location and size makes it ideal for a wedding, however its the genuine homely feel that you get from the interior and the staff that make it what it is. We hope we get time to come back soon and try one the amzing burgers we have heard so much about too! Thank you Paddy and your team! Excellent day had by all!

After a visit to Newcastle we went to the golf links on the dundrum road a very pleasant meal was had service was quick and efficient staff was very friendly

We had a lovely meal tonight. We both had the same meal. My DH does not usually have chicken but the chicken stack tonight was great. No complaints at all. We will be back soon.

Always eat here whilst in Newcastle. The most fabulous roast beef ever. Lovely family friendly hotel and restaurant. Definitely a must visit

Visited Golf Links House this week with a party of seven friends having booked about a week in advance. The food was ok, nothing particularly wrong but nothing special either. It was reasonably priced.The establishment is well presented in a nice setting with good parking and disabled access.The thing that really did strike me was the surly attitude of the staff. I certainly felt that they would have preferred that we had gone somewhere else. We were a middle aged to elderly group and were neither boisterous nor demanding. Little wonder that on a nice summer evening business was quiet. I can't say that I won't ever go back, but....?

We would use the Golf Links House Restaurant often and have never been let down. Staff always friendly and always a good choice on the menu of well prepared and presented food which is reasonably priced. I would highly recommend a visit to the Golf Links.

Loved the food, staff and atmosphere.Only about a ten minute walk into the centre of Newcastle. Really nice spot and nice and quiet.

Brought some friends here for lunch. excellent value, excellent food. friendly service. Highly recommend it.
