This place has had some questionable reviews in the past but don't let this put you off trying. I don't know whether there has been a change of ownership but I have made this a regular stop. Quick service whether delivery or collection. Their Set Meal Deal is a steal in my books, Yung Chow Fried Rice, Duck in Black Pepper Sauce and Crispy WonTons with Sweet and Sour sauce for a very reasonable price. Sauce is flavourful, meat tender and comes with good variation of vegetables to round out the meal. Last time we went they have Siu Mai on offer, if you're a fan of steamed dumplings these are worth picking up, exactly what you expect from an authentic Siu Mai. The only thing that knocks this place is that you can have a differing experience every time you go, your sauce may be more or less thick and with a slightly different flavour. The vegetables in your meal can be different or the amount of meat. Although never at heavy detriment to the meal it can be detract from the meal.

HORRENDOUS. DO NOT RISK YOUR LIFE. We were served RAW PINK CHICKEN BALLS. When we called Golden Wok, they advised that this is not possible as they receive their food already cooked and simply reheat the food. DISGUSTING.

We ordered a Chinese via UberEat for home delivery. The site took payment immediately but no food arrived. We telephoned the Chinese takeaway but no one answered and the answer service had been programmed so that we were unable to leave a message.

I'm really not a fan of takeaway food at the best of times but this was somewhere I could tolerate and even sometimes enjoy if I was with friends who wanted to order in. That was until I received chunks of fish in with my sweet and sour chicken! I absolutely hate fish and couldn't eat my meal as I was too repulsed. It's completely put me off ever ordering from here again and I dread to think what the food would be like for people with allergies. I can't say I'll be ordering again even if I'm with friends who do order - I'd rather go hungry.

My food was cold, late and wrong. We rang to enquire and the lady was rude and didn’t even apologise. We ordered fried rice with a sauce, satay sauce (also ordered chicken satay skewers) the sauce on the rice was a dark brown spicy sauce, not the same as the peanut based sauce on the chicken. The lady argued with us for 5 minutes admitting no fault and said it is different as it’s Malaysian style satay on the rice, which no where on the menu does it state that. Extremely unhappy with spending £20 on food that was wrong cold and then to be rude to was disgusting - this was ordered through food hub and they are just as useless

After receiving my poor quality food, I called to complain only to be shouted at from the employee accusing me of lying and refusing to refund my order. He then hung up on me.

DONT ORDER FOOD FROM HERE! OLD AND DRY. Combo box all meat was that dry and hard you could not eat it. They did not care when I called. The wonton were just fill pastry with no filling. Be warned!

Had a takeaway from here on boxing night, absolutely disgusting!! The food was in no way edible, was thrown straight into the bin!! Never ever have I had such bad food in my life. And a one rating is being extremly kind.

Ordered a takeaway 16.12.18,it arrived earlier than the expected time.We had 3 different meals,my wife had duck which was virtually burnt,I had special curry,hardly any meat,the meat was poor and uncooked and came in a strange dark green sauce which tasted awful,my daughter had noodles,which she said we're disgusting.All in all the worst chinese takeaway I have ever ordered.

Best takeaway ever! Food came early. They altered the set meal for us to make it vegetarian and there were loads of other veggie options which I’ll be trying in the future.

Ordered from here a few times - they have really good options for vegetarians and good prices. We often get the mock duck which is delicious and always arrives hot. Salt and pepper chips are a bit inconsistent in quality but are generally good. Food always arrives really quickly, even before the time we're told it will arrive. Never had a bad experience ordering from this place!

Food was alright. £17.00 for 4 drunk people but would NEVER order again due to the absolute awful, rude, arrogant delivery driver. Late 40's, early 50's. Said he could keep the bit of change and he looked at me like I was dirt on his shoe. Needs sacking! Will be avoiding at all costs and advising friends and family to do the same. Arrogant, vile man. Hopefully when he's only got a penny to his name he'll learn the words 'thank you'. Food does not compensate for the shocking attitude of this man. Needs to learn his 'please' and 'thank you' before he gets any more hand outs. Will only order again if I can be assured that he is no longer working there, or with people all together for that matter. Maybe a bin man would suit his personality better?

Poor Quality. Will never order again. Possibly the worst we have had to date locally. Special Curry very watery, very little meat content. Egg Fried Rice too much Soy making it over salty. Sweet and Sour Chicken Balls soggy and soft and overcooked. BBq Ribs where tough. Chips where soggy. Salt Pepper Wings, plenty of seasoning but overcooked wings and small portion for price. Very disappointed with every aspect of the meal. Not a happy customer. Might be under new management, but seriously needs upgrading on quality if they are going to survive. Will be taking my money elsewhere.

Way to expensive for quality of food

Decided to give golden wok another try because I saw it had a new owner but unfortunately the food wasn’t great and didn’t have much taste. Chips tasted like they had been reheated a few times and they were soggy, so don’t think we will be ordering from there again.

I've ordered from here a lot whilst I've been at uni and this is the first time I've had an issue. One of the dishes we ordered was wrong, we had recieved double of the other which my friend doesn't like. So I rang requesting them to swap the food as it was clearly just a mistake, to be told I'm wrong, it's impossible we have the same dish and we are mistaken (despite me and my friend both tasting them and finding they tasted identical and they looked identical). The lady on the phone was very rude and instead of trying to sort the issue insisted she had to serve other customers so we should get off the phone. Unfortunatly this experiance means I will not order from here again as I've just wasted money on food we're not going to eat. Very dissapointing as this is a very simple issue to sort out and didn't require the rudness we recieved.

People were early so they were sat in the car smoking, i found this truly disgusting that people were smoking around my food and would not order again. The food was okay.

Received the wrong rice (which was also totally cold,) everything else was fine. Delivery was very fast!

Food was good. A bit saltier than usual and the peas were still in my chicken fried rice even though I'd requested them to be removed. Nevertheless I still enjoyed my meal for the most part.

The food arrived very quickly however I think this is probably the reason why the food was so bad... it wasn't cooked fresh, chewy & soggy! Only thing I could eat was the chips. Really hate to leave a bad review but when I pay nearly £20 for food I expect it to be freshly cooked! Won't be using them again... hopefully other people don't have the same problems as me though.

I read the good reviews so thought I'd give this Place a try. must have been a bad night because the food was awful :( everything was swimming in oil and grease. my prawn main came in a thick, black oily sauce which wasn't even spicy I had to throw all of it away. so disappointed :( :(

I had beef satay, it was full of onions and peppers. Satay is ment to be peanut's right? Was just spicy. Spring rolls were very greesey too

We are on holiday in the area and had had a wet and tiring day out so decided we'd get a takeaway. We have never used Just Eat before and had no idea about the local Chinese takeaways but went with the high ratings on the site and are so glad we did! The good was piping hot, delivered efficiently and probably the best Chinese we've ever had! Would highly recommend!

My delivery driver rang the intercom so i buzzed him in but he stood at the entrance to the flats. So i went down and asked if he couldn't get in and he said i dont come in i deliver to this door (meaning the door to the flats.)I said i pay to have food deliverd to my door not the entrance. Will not order from here again

We paid for spring rolls which we never received so we phoned though to the Chinese and was told we would get refunded it's weeks later and no sign of the money! Dissipated 😤 The food wasn't particularly nice either!!
