Menu prices online way off to what is being charged when you go to collect. E.g. set meal for 1 shows as £8.50 online. Tried to charge me £10.80 upon collection. I imagine that’s a big difference for a family that is ordering. Didn’t have enough cash on me, asked to pay with Apple Pay, they said minimum £12 (again even tho it said min card spend £10). Ended up leaving the food. I was overcharged for the order I collected over a year ago but I didn’t bother looking into it as it was Christmas. So the prices online have been wrong for some time. Not acceptable

Just went in to collect a small order. The lady on the counter spoke to me like I was an actual peasant. Genuinely disgusted at the treatment here. Because my order fell below the minimum payment she said I had to pay £12. (£6 more than I ordered). Genuinely fuming. Will never enter this disgusting Chinese takeaway again. Which I gave another chance after the last time they served me the blandest, most dry meal with a total lack of ingredients. Time to give up Golden Wok, if this is how you want to treat people.

Chow mein very dry little chicken. Price gone up not worth the price. And if you using card to pay they charging a fee which I'm sure against the law. Watch your bills guys!

Food was very hot and delivery was very quick, just one very small complaint, the sweet and sour sauce was very watery but that didn't spoil my meal. Excellent

Disgusting food , disgusting customer service , will never use again, terrible, took the whole order back to be given exactly the same order back pinged in microwave. We know not fresh order as the bags still had the same stains on when the curry had leaked everywhere 1st time.

Placed an order for collection got home and chicken balls was missing and the sweet and sour chicken and duck with plum sauce was all missing the sauce, took it back as they said and they just put the sauce on the stuff I bought back. Got it home again was all cold rang to tell them this, woman on phone was very rude would never order anything from here again. Was also £50 absolutely ridiculous and a rip off

Always quick service, and the noodles are great!

I have always bought from the golden wok but like everywhere else they are taking the mickey. They have reduced the portion size by 2 thirds and the chips are burnt . I won't be going back. Its a sad day it used to be good.

Excellent Chinese takeaway. The food is always good and the service is also very good. In my opinion it is one of the best Chinese takeaway's in Arnold. Large choice of dishes and even when they are busy it's still with you in around 15-20 minutes.

It was previously a 5 star for me but since then they've taken 90 minutes to deliver my food without explanation, the once awesome chips are not anywhere near as good now & the latest is - they've upped there prices without altering it on the website but refuse to offer the advertised prices, stating it's not their fault it's not been updated but I can pay the advertised price, they'll just give me less food. 😮 Always tipped them too apart from when the food took 90 minutes instead of the usual 45 minutes

It all started in 2004, I was born. All throughout my life we had chinese on occasion. We started out with some sub par chinese, the food was decent. Then one spectacular day I had golden wok and it was nice

Had a Chinese before from hear it was lovely, this time pork ball's made with pork mince, absolutely disgusting, won't order again

It's local and reasonably priced

Normally very good. Sweet n sour sauce, off! Had to throw away. The pork balls, were fried several times, and 'mushy inside, like not real meat, thrown away. Chips good. Curry sauce, watery, no taste and microwaved. Thrown away. Fried rice very good. Seems hit and miss at the moment , not there normal standard.

Golden Wok formerly was Sun Flower owned by John. The food preparations and recepi has been passed on till now. My family always enjoy their food although at times we have to wait for one and a half hours but still worth it. Friendly staff. Would highly recommend to friends.

Brilliant lovely food always been going here for over 30 years

I'm finding that this place is getting a bit hit and miss with the quality of the food, last night the chips were almost raw ...and I mean seriously raw, the week before I ordered sweet and sour king prawn balls and the prawns inside were just a watery mush , there's no excuse for it it's just poor service, fast going off the place .

The poorest meal tonight, 1/2 duck was all crisp no meat and filled only half the container, the cantonese style chicken lacked any flavour, beef in black bean sauce too strong and overpowering, soggy salt & pepper chips. We wont be back any time soon unfortunately.

This Chinese is spot on. I always feel skeptical about reviews and sometimes think people are so far off! However I can't complain its by far the best Chinese in this area. The ribs are so nice really tender meat not fatty I actually had to reluctantly share one with my boyfriend just to show him how good they were lol . The lady in the phone is so polite. It goes a long way. Anyway about 5 times I've ordered from here and it's always been great. My partner is very critical he gets very annoyed when things aren't right but with this takeaway I feel confident he will be pleased. 5 stars :) Furthermore since this review we have ordered this evening the set menu for 2 for 2 people and it was so lovely i really enjoyed my food. The picks for a set menu were very good. I sometimes forget to review, but I feel I can go the extra mile for this place.

Used these for a long time, always brilliant food and service! Portion size is also very good. Tried others in the past but nothing compares.

Had to wait far to long..they need more cooks..I don't expect to get orange juice with duck sauce would have been nice..very poor..no I wouldn't go again

I'm an old man and can't eat what I used to therefore I choose one of their combination boxes, chicken curry and rice they put very little curry source with it making the dish very dry. I won't go there again.

Awful got raw mushroom on plate curry very runny watery one of us had special curry 2 bits of onion 2 prawns 3 pieces of beef and 4 pieces chicken not a patch on birds garden in arnold and more expensive

the always a good dinner and the staff are always pleasant only had one problem but resolved very quickly

Love this place. Always good.never had a bad takeaway from here. Staff are always pleasant. I order on the phone then call and pick the food up.only the odd mistake 3 in 9 yrs and always resolved without a problem. 9 out of 10.
