Golden Star Ayr (Japanese & Chinese Cuisine) in South Ayrshire

Can't believe it took us so long to find this place, saves us a trip to Glasgow to find a decent Ramen and Sushi place. Food was amazing, flavourful and filling, great value for money would give it 10/10 if I were to criticise it I would say chips were terrible but they were an after thought and perhaps a child menu or half portion option would be a great addition to the menu especially for the Ramen

The sushi from here is amazing It's always fresh & tastes beautiful We order from here multiple times a week We highly recommend

I'm Japanese. The food and its presentation are amazing. The food shows their care and pride. It is Golden Star, indeed.

Food was great however driver phoned to say he’s been at the door for ages when in fact he was at the complete wrong address. When he arrived he was very rude and demanded we gave him extra delivery money for going to the wrong address like it was our fault?! The address was put in right so in fact was his or the shops fault. Very rude person and he in fact did not get extra delivery money.

Always a good meal from here - good portions and delivered ahead of delivery time. Delivery driver was great too!

Food is good, good size portions I ordered a takeaway of noodles, and I thoroughly enjoyed it

Got a delivery from golden star ⭐️ to sundrum caravan park and picked it up at reception. It was lovely thoroughly enjoyed we had a chicken curry.

didn’t answer their phone for over an hour

Food was not what we expected. Egg foo young should be egg omelet pancakes with a gravy or sauce. We got scrambled eggs in water with no sauce. Kung Pow chicken was like spicy sweet and sour. Taste was okay but not what we wanted. Portions were good for the price and service was on time and polite.

Been looking for an authentic homefood and finally found it! The gyoza was superb! Pork maki was the most decent I've had in the area and the ramen broth was rich. However, the takoyaki was a bit soggy but the flavour's fine. Will definitely order other things from the menu next time. 👍👍👍

Their hot and sour soup was nice but didn't like the chicken curry, and thought was pretty expensive comparing with other chinese's. Also most chinese's give you free crackers with your meal.

Love in South Ayrshire and love sushi,so much so to get a decent place we've always travelled to Glasgow (Caillins)to get our fix...having not wanting to travel so far tonight,my Husband round this place and we decided to give it a go. We.ordered the Dragon roll,Volcano roll,Rainbow roll and some deep fried dim sum and all we can say is "wow",this beats the place in Glasgow for us. Pieces are larger,the sauces are just amazing and all round so impressed not only with the sushi but the very smiley and helpful customer service.You will have regulars of us. Recommended for sure.

After trying a few places this is the best takeaway place in Ayr, food was excellent, delivery was fast, couldn't ask for any better.

This takeaway has two menus, one Chinese and one Japanese. A great selection of food, and mine was extremely tasy and well cooked.

Down on holiday from Erskine. This has got to be the best Chinese takeaway in Ayr . Special fried rice the way it should be with an omelette on top & the beef and fresh tomato is excellent. Wish my local Chinese at home still made it this way. Free prawn crackers is a nice touch to. Will definitely be back when I return to Ayr

WARNING TO OTHER BUSINESSES- The owner places order for goods then refuses to take calls to pay for them. When we did finally track him down he told us to come and get Payment. When we got there he refused to pay until he had a receipt for money he hadn’t paid. Do not trust this guy (Lewis)

Food? What food? Where’s the food? Friday night. Just got a leaflet through the door. First time... last time. Hungry and nothing!!! Called. Will be delivered in 5 - 10 minutes. Heavy traffic. 45 minutes late and still nothing. Better try Jinja Kitchen. Tasty, on time and worth a little extra. Avoid these amateurs!!! Unless you are on a starvation diet. Then it’s ideal.

Got salt and chilli munchies box. Wasn't anything salt and chilli in it. Got chicken wings, one was a deep fried spare rib and the other a deep fried bone, cheers my dug can have that. Usually quality aswell but that was mingin

Omg I'm at the kids football so I asked if we could get a beef curry with onions and fried rice and half it and put it in two tubs one for Mrs one for me now it's been half an hour since I just told them to forget about it and I'm still confused... The woman behind the till taken orders said no no no they can't put it in two tubs I would need to buy 2 beef curry's and fried rice and do it that way... EHHH WHY CAN'T THEY SPLIT ONE??? TAKE HALF RICE OUT PUT HALF CURRYIN WITH RICE... SIMPLE But no they just want me to pay double... Aye right so a will keep it I'll no be back

Food is amazing portion sizes are very big too (which is great ) prices are great and the staff is so nice aswell. Been here a few times this is our favorite new place for treat nights highly recommend. ☺️☺️

Delicious as always! Golden Star Ayr has becoming an addiction! Absolutely the best sushi I’ve had recently, and their Poke Bowls are fresh and flavourful! Order at least once a week and would do so more if I could! :-)
