Lido in South Ayrshire

This is an excellent restaurant with excellent quality food. I've visited a number of times and the experience has been truly outstanding. Thanks again.

Popped in for a coffee today loved the decor and atmosphere the coffee and cake were delicious The gentleman who welcomed and served us was really friendly happy to recommend

First visit and we had breakfast. Poached eggs were small and hard also one small slice of sourdough. £30 for 2 dishes and coffee.

Great restaurant. Never disappoints. Great ambience. Good varied menu and doesn't cost a fortune. Their "Fork out for less" menu is superb, you can get a starter or dessert and a main plus a house wine or a peroni for £17.99, which in this day and age is great value for money. Will return again soon.

Great food with a lovely chilled vibe. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the cocktails. Would definitely go again.

A safe haven for the gluten free patron! As someone who gets very sick after eating gluten I'm often anxious to eat out. The waitress put my mind at ease right away as she had a fantastic knowledge of the food they serve and possible contaminates. She was kind, welcoming, cheerful and clearly well educated with her menu. I had the porcini mushroom and truffle pizza and it was delicious. I can't recommend this restaurant enough and we will definitely be back when visiting the area.

Really poor menu if you are a Vegan. Better go the Vic and the Vine restaurant along the road as they will cater for you. All Lido is prepared to do is remove the dairy etc... with adding substitutes such as vegan cheese. Very poor.

We had Visited on 30/08/24 we had walked in for a table for 2, the young gent who served us was good but the other 2 staff members one who looked like a manager stood around to wait for this boy to bring our drinks from the bar to us. His service was the only good thing about this visit our food wasn’t great. The main course sea bass was foul as it was unbelievably sour with lemon. I know it was a citrus cream but it was unbearable. We waited for 20 mins after finishing our main and our plates were not cleared, so we had chose to leave. It felt so unwelcoming for a quiet mid lunch. We eat in both lidos and not sure if we will be back

Food was great but the portion was small. I had a dinner but it didn’t feel Ike I had a full dinner. If you want some drink and lite dinner? This is a perfect place to go!

Popped in after a day out on the off chance of getting a table. Staff were very accommodating and couldn't have been more attentive. We had the fork out for less menu which included a main, dessert and drink for £17.95. The food was delicious and really good value for money. My seven year old nephew opted to build his own pizza and then was taken to the kitchen to present it to the chef which made his visit. Like us he can't wait to return.

Cute little restaurant. Service was excellent and food was both a hit and a miss. We ordered the Scamorza Caprese Pane and Prawn Marie Rose Pane which we shared. The Caprese sandwich was a miss. It did not have a lot of flavour and we didn't finish it. The Prawn sandwich though was a huge hit...absolutely delicious and I would come back to order this again. The restaurant has a good vibe and the food came quick. There are other menu items that I would come back to try.

Very efficient, attentive front of house staff who worked their socks off during a busy lunch service. The Lido serves tasty, quality food and we’ll be back for more. Great vibe!

Disinterested and complacent was how I would describe the service. My father was visiting from abroad and he decided to bring us to Lido to celebrate. It took an age for the drinks we ordered to arrive, and when the chicken he ordered for his main course arrived it was dry, and tasteless. By the time the staff brought it back to the kitchen and prepared something else, everyone else had finished their main course. I had been very much looking forward to the evening and this completely ruined it. My family had a similar experience when we dined in this restaurant about 6 months prior this, and whilst I treated this as a one off at the time, cleary this is something of a pattern.....

This has been my go to place in Prestwick for many years,. Unfortunately the standard of food I had became accustomed to has vanished and been replaced by far less appetising alternatives. The classic burger was more than disappointing, neither prepared fresh in house or even a decent buy in. Not what I've came to expect but will definitely encourage me to try other places in future. Some improvement required.

Visited a while back and the service, food quality and atmosphere was very good… then I visited recently and the experience was fantastic highly recommend the lido We were entertained by a lovely girl who has half her arm missing , she is very knowledgeable and easy going, didn't manage to get her name but she is definitely an asset to your business and makes the experience great !

Recently went for Sunday breakfast with my wife and two grown up children. It was a comedy of errors from start to finish. After we ordered, the tea was brought, no milk, then no teaspoons and I had to ask for a clean cup as mine was absolutely filthy. How they didn't spot that was anybody's guess. The young waitress didn't seem to have a clue what she was doing. When the food came it looked like a dog's breakfast. Terrible presentation and swimming in the juice from the mushy tomato. Very poor quality fare. You would get a much better breakfast for a lot less money in Wetherspoons, a couple of doors along the street. To top it off....yes you've guessed it...lukewarm at best. How difficult can it be to plate up four hot breakfasts? Oh yes, they forgot to give us cutlery. Just to top it off a couple came in with three young kids and were seated in the booth next to us. The kids immediately took to their pads and the mother to her phone. All the kids had the volume up very loud and all watching different things!! It was just a rabble. Their parents seemed to think this was acceptable behaviour in a public place and did nothing. Very ignorant people. The staff must have thought this was acceptable too because no one said anything to them, or asked them to consider other customers and turn down the volume. We finished as quickly as we could stomach, left most of the mush they had served us, as it was so bad and left. Instead of enjoying a nice relaxed family breakfast that little outing turned out to be a complete waste of £50. Never again. I wish I'd taken a photo of the plate of food to post how bad it looked. Needless to say we wont be back and if you have any sense you'll steer clear of the Lido breakfast. Yuck!!!

I came today for breakfast and I had smoked salmon with eggs and I take it myself with a cup of coffee. Fantastic customer service everything was delicious I will definitely come back when I'm in the area and I could highly recommend it to anyone.

Had been here several times before. On this occasion I made a point of taking some visiting family. It started badly when I arrived and every one of thev4 sets of cutlery were dirty. Not just stained, but food remaining on them. My adult daughter just changed them ourselves just to get it done. The starters were fine and then my daughter and I had a chicken burger with chilli chips. When they were served they were on a small, what can only be described as wooden chopping board. Totally impractical to eat from, as it was far too small. I noticed that the chios were not chilli chips, but just normal chips. Other people I'm my group had meals with normal chips. I pointed out to the waitress that my meal came with chilli chips. Her response was "Well I can change them if you really want me to." I told her that was what the meal was supposed to be....!! The chicken burger was not nice. Dry roll, bit of guacamole and a dry couple of pieces of chicken fillet. Also a slice of bacon. I certainly won't be back. I've got better ways to spend £100.

Very disappointed in the service and food and in the end the managers attitude. My friend and ordered smoked salmon scrambled egg and toast. When it eventually came it was hard toast. Knife wouldn't go through in parts, avocado and hard poached eggs. The eggs were tastless. Never again. One friend ordered hot milk for her coffee it eventually arrived in a large mug. Another friend ordered crispy bacon and got chewy bacon. Told the waitress and she said sorry. Paid the bill No reduction. Spoke to the manager who said waitress hadn't told her. She said they were too busy, which they weren't. Poor service and poor customer care as well as unsatisfactory food. Won't be back.

Beautiful restaurant 😍, our server was really nice and friendly the food was amazing and for the price was even better we got the lamb kofta and chips with a cheese and salt chilli topping ,only popped in on the off chance of getting a seat,but it will be my go to place when I am in Prestwick honestly go give it a try you won't be disappointed.

I had a breakfast roll with link sausage...expecting a nice morning roll but instead it had been toasted and with 3 finger sized dried up sausages, very disappointing 😞. My friend had 2 poached eggs and one rasher of bacon on her plate which looked lost on the plate.Good job I wasn't that hungry.

The crispy squid starter, burger and freshly made onion rings were delicious. So so tasty. Staff were attentive and the balance skills of our female waitress was brilliant. Highly recommend this place.

This is a lovely place. It was exceptionally busy early today when I was there. Food was lovely , I had a full Scottish breakfast. The only thing that let it down was the slow service

It is easier to write a list here. Empty restaurant at 4 00 pm on an afternoon 2 staff on duty bored behind the bar nursing a coffee. Told that we want a quick snack and out in an hour. Staff consult reservations system and directed to the worst seat for access and size in an empty restaurant apart from now 1 other table. Drinks served within 5 minuets menus left at the table. no order taken after 20 minuets, I go to bar where 2 staff now drinking coffee and chatting.... embarrassingly put through order. Order for 2 pizzas arrive 20 minuets later . Pizzas have so much cheep nasty cheese on top they are getting rapidly cold and inedible. After fighting with pizza for 30 Minuets. Again being ignored by staff for another half hour I go to bar and ask for bill. now after 1 hour 10 minuets another 2 tables in. They are also being ignored ladies at the second worst table in restaurant after 20 min go and place order at bar for drinks. The staff clearly do not want to be there and I am a inconvenience. I hear Chef Brian Maule has recently been employed by the owner. Good Luck with That Brian !I'm sure you will get thing ship shape. With 5 months to a major world golf tournament happening 4 miles away I would expect the owners have a huge problem with staff attitude on their hands.

Food was incredible and the atmosphere was delightful but the service was mediocre and wait time did take quite a long time but food did make up for it

Really nice place and food was good

Ordered, truffle mushrooms on sour dough. Received mushroom in mayonnaise on baguette. Waiter told me the soup was tomato. What arrived was a very small bowl of tepid mushroom soup (more like a thick sauce). Ordered a decaf cappuccino. My reason for writing this is that I can now tell (not in a good way) it was caffeinated. The waiter (with beard) had an unfriendly , “not bothered” manner so much so that I did not feel confident/comfortable to raise challenge and spoil lunch with my friend.

Service was so slow. Not that busy when we attended. Staff took ages to clear away our lunch plates. Food bang average. Fish gougons and tempura with fries. Fries not cooked enough, soggy and hard in centre.Minted pea with fish disgusting. Why can’t you have a choice of garden peas.Overpriced raspberry /dark chocolate eclair.Really disappointed with service. Been to few buzzworks including this one a few years ago. No be back to this one

Arrived at 6pm with family for drinks. There were several free tables but the man on the restaurant floor with a beard said we would have to stand at the bar as there were no free tables. After about 10 mins I asked if we could perhaps sit at a table as we were only waiting a short time. He looked around and pointed at a high table with 2 chairs and said you can sit there. A couple at the next table gave us an extra chair. We were obviously not welcome as we were only in for drinks..When we left after an hour there were still empty tables.🙄

First visit to Lido Prestwick in quite some time and I was really looking forward to visiting again but how it has changed since my last visit. We ordered two courses...my starter, goats cheese with sourdough actually came with bruschetta and not the advertised sourdough. The goats cheese was served in a strange mousse like consistency as if it had been blended. Rather unpleasant. We both ordered pizza for our mains. While they looked lovely and generously sized they tasted pretty disgusting. Way too much cheese which made the base rather wet and uncooked tasting. I'm not sure why restaurants feel need to plaster cheese on a pizza to the point it just masks taste of everything else on it. We both sadly couldnt eat our mains and the friendly server took the price of the pizzas off the bill . Extremely disappointing.

First time in this restaurant and need not have worried. Met Erin at reception and she showed us to our table. She was so friendly and attentive during our visit. She has a great personality and a warm smile. She is a great ambassador for the company. Big shout out to the kitchen brigade for the very high standard of food and its portions. Great atmosphere and value for money. Will be back for sure.

We were in for a breakfast, the salmon was lovely, my boyfriend's breakfast looked amazing but the haggis was so overcooked it was crunchy, apart from that it was excellent and I'm sure we will be back.

Looks attractive from outside and seating inside nice.Now for the food...had chicken rigatoni ordered and seemed to take ages to arrive(was quiet not even half full). The pasta over cooked chicken slithers I could have put all the chicken on a soup spoon and the sauce very runny thin etc. Would I pay over £15 for that dish no way but insult to injury got charged £3 for a glass of tap water to swallow my pills.. Would I return no way first and last experience so it was a shame.

This is our favourite place to eat three of us after our year of bike rides and planning next year the staff makes this restaurant very friendly and warming and the food choice is amazing but must say Fish and chips for me is soo good great atmosphere no rushing very relaxing THUMB,s up for me

So my friends and I decided to go to Lido for our festive night out. The place was busy so expected to have to wait. Food and drinks ordered was taken pretty quickly and starter came out in good time. Starters were a mixed bag. I had goats cheese which came out as blobs of mousse on a plate and with some hard bruschetta pieces. Doesn't say on the menu about it being a mousse and what it did say that it came with sourdough. My friends prawn cocktail had more lettuce than anything else. Mains were an absolute disaster. Took 40 minutes from our starters being cleared to receiving our mains. Probably took that long to cook as everything was clearly over cooked. I had seabass and it was the tiniest over cooked seabass I've ever saw. My dish was also supposed to contain prawns. I had one rubbery prawn. My friend had a burger and they got her order wrong and you could have heeled your shoe with that burger. My other friend had a burnt on the outside roast potatoe and raw in the middle. Food looked looked as if it had been left under a heat lamp too long. Some of it was unedable. By this time we were fed up and we werent even asked if everything was ok. Decided on no desserts because of this and it took the older guy 15 minutes to come back with the bill because he was too busy standing talking to someone he knew. Looked like staff just wanted to stand around and just chat. Certainly won't be recommending this place as it ain't cheap especially for getting overcooked food.

Arrived 3.45pm Sunday afternoon with wife. Didn’t book in advance. Asked if we could have a table. Advised that we could but it must be returned in an hour. Fair enough, we intended to have a main meal only. At this point, four other tables were occupied. We were presented with the lunch menu. No issues. Ordered one club sandwich with fries and one pasta bowl with chicken. One pint of shandy and one glass of wine. Drinks arrived quickly, food after 20 minutes. My wife enjoyed the pasta bowl, no real issues. However, the club sandwich I received was nothing short of shocking. In many years of ordering the same in many different restaurants in many different countries, this is definitely the poorest experience of them all. A soft ciabatta roll cut in half. Mayonnaise spread. Two thumbnail shards of chicken in each half on top of one lettuce leaf and half a slice of a tomato. That’s it. A true club sandwich would usually have bacon, cheese, egg and often ham included. None of that. I asked to see the menu once again to check the description. Bacon should have been included but had been forgotten. I raised the issue with the young gentleman serving us who apologised and agreed that it was not as described. Could not have been nicer. Offered to have the chef cook me a piece of bacon and bring it to me. But really too late for that. I advised that that would not be necessary but the kitchen should know about the mistake. On top of everything, the small salad on the plate contained far too many stringy rocket stalks and I would estimate that a third of the fries were hard, crispy and inedible. Overall a very poor effort altogether. Finally, our allocated hour was up. We paid the £35 bill and departed. At this point only one other table was occupied and the restaurant was mostly deserted. Hopefully their expected rush came later. I have a Buzzworks loyalty card. We are regular diners at their Ayrshire restaurants. However, they need to have a serious look at this one. As customers, we understand that costs and prices are rising. Whilst we are not expecting Michelin starred dishes, we do expect perceived value for money. Without that, customers will not return.

My friend offered to take me out for birthday breakfast this morning and I chose to go lido to have the French toast ,it was really good and the girls were all nice but to top it of at the end the girl noticed my birthday badge that my daughter insisted I was to wear, and it was so lovely of them to give me some cakes on the house ,that made my day ,such a sweet thing to do and brightened my day . Thanks for the special treat and great service I didn't catch the girls name . so whoever you are keep being you 🙂 .x

Lovely meal. Unfortunately had to mark down for service. The wait to order between courses was really long and each time we had to request service by leaving the table to find someone. Can't fault the friendliness of staff but three staff members to service a full restaurant and bar area is clearly not sufficient.

Lovely surroundings. Pleasant decor. Very good selection on the menu. Check your bill. I was over charged. The guy on the till was a tad surly. I didn't realize till too late.

On arrival the place was very busy. We got seated and waited around 10 minutes to order drinks. They arrived 10 minutes later when we also put our order in. Starters arrived pretty quickly and the were lovely. The main meal arrived 20 odd minutes later. I had the beef and mashed potato my son had a past dish and my wife had the chicken. The food was all pretty much look warm. The flavour of the beef was nice but as I said cold. My wife’s chicken was very dry. Anyhow after finishing our meal our plates lay at least 20 minutes and no one had came near to clear up or offer a dessert. My wife just went up and paid as we had wasted enough time waiting on the staff to serve us. She did complain and the took 10% off the bill. I personally think everything was overpriced for what we got. I won’t be returning.

Had two fantastic full Scottish breakfasts here and the staff were very friendly. I've been road tripping for 2 weeks all over the west of Scotland and this is the best breakfast I've had. Highly reccomended.

Normally i would give a 5 star for the service but on this occasion i have to give 4 as one of the waitresses must have been having a bad day and was a bit grumpy with us. Although when she finished her shift all was back to being fantastic again. Will not put us off, will definately be back.

Tuscan salad was completely drowned in a very vinegar tasting dressing to the point where it was inedible.

Went for dinner and had the King Prawn Fritto to start and the Carne Pizza for my main. The starter in particular was very tasty and a nice fresh made pizza. My only complaint is paying £5:45 for a pint of lager which I think is totally excessive, other than that I really enjoyed it

Welcoming staff and attractive decor. I chose a prawn and roasted red pepper sandwich with bottled still water. Very enjoyable and generous portion size. Enjoyed the quiet ambiance. Good value for money.

Fillet steak was absolutely amazing. Parmesan and Chilli fries were good however all at the top and not through the chips be good to see mixed or shaken prior to serving. Venue had a lovely relaxed feel to it. A lot of items on display so must be a nightmare to clean properly. Would definitely recommend and hopefully will be back.

Not a typical Buzzworks,we go out most weeks to other of their establishments for meals,and food was not very good,and the staff seemed to do their own thing,no management control.

Lovely place!! I felt comfortable from the beginning with Erin (Manager) who welcomed us in. Then had a small encounter with the one waitress, but it got immediately resolved, efficiently and swiftly by Erin!! Loved the vibe and will definitely be coming back!

Nice place, good food. A 25 minute wait for service after being given the menus was more than a little annoying, especially after the table next to us arrived 10 mins after us, had their order taken, and were served their food and drinks before us!

Food was absolutely rotten couldn’t eat any of it. Soup was freezing sent it back and came back lukewarm. Burger tasted like charcoal and steak was freezing. Asked for it to be medium but it was totally over done.

Sticky tables, Overpriced food, below average service

Sandwiches arrived and bread was mouldy ! Mussels arrived snd they were stone cold . Sub standard food ruined a birthday lunch for my son .

Went yesterday for lunch . My mums sandwich came and after eating some she noticed the bread was mouldy . Then my mussels were served stone cold . Both dishes were sent back . Disappointed and it ruined what should have been a lovely birthday lunch. Would not recommend to anyone
