Cecchini’s Italian restaurant in South Ayrshire

Great food with large portions at reasonable prices and friendly staff..highly recommend. I had the wild mushroom and parmesan risotto with added chicken and a side order of bruschetta (although the side order was almost like another main) 👌

A friendly local restaurant , a variety of good food options that are well done. I have met here with friends a few times since September and always received excellent service. The staff are very pleasant and welcoming , and the range of drinks is extensive. The atmosphere is lovely, chatty but not too noisy. If you're in ayr it's worth a visit .

Another Christmas day meal at Cecchini's. Andrew and the team worked their magic again on the day. Wonderful food so much so we booked for next year before we left.

Ordered a couple pizza through just eat, pizza arrived freezing cold and massively over cooked, restaurant refused to take any responsibility and send fresh pizza and I had to go back to just eat to wait 24hrs to find out if it's good enough for a refund

Went here twice on a trip of only a few days because everyone I was with agreed it was just that good. If I ever end up back in town, I'll have to go again. The Pollo Milanese (chicken parm with spaghetti) is fantastic, and everybody also loved the Funghi (garlic bread with mushrooms in an Alfredo sauce).

We have been going here for over 10 years and we love it. We now go with our 4 year old daughter and her favourite is the macaroni ! Very relaxed atmosphere for lunch and for dinner. Staff are very friendly and nothing is a bother. What more could you want.

Just back from a short break in Ayr and came here to dine in Cecchinis three times during our stay as it was so good. The food was great and the staff all very professional, kind, friendly and attentive. I had the stuffed peppers twice and the baked salmon was also delicious. My partner had pasta dishes all of which he thoroughly enjoyed. The decor and ambience is very nice - smart but also informal. If you are looking for a good restaurant with a nice varied menu look no further. I highly recommend! A big thank you to the lovely staff who helped to make out stay in Ayr so enjoyable.

We were a party of 8, having spent the day at the Open in Troon. It was nice to be in a relaxed atmosphere, service was excellent, as was the food and drink, all at a reasonable cost.

Really delicious penne arrabbiata with mushrooms and peppers, accompanied by a stonkingly good Malbec and some nice garlic bread. Top marks, will be back!

There is a 2 course for £17.95 between 5.00pm and 6.30pm Wednesday. We arrived at 6.25pm and we were given the £17.95 special menu to select from. As it was after 6.30pm when our order was input onto their systems we were charged full price. Poor on their part.

This place surpasses any other eatery in Ayr . Can't really say much more than that.

Had lunch with my sister and niece. The food was excellent as was the service. Well worth a second visit or more. A very popular restaurant in Ayr and it's obvious why that is the case.

Had a meal for 7 here , staff very friendly & approachable ,every meal was lovely empty plates all round ,just over £25 for starters & main which is very reasonable but cheap if the food is as good as it was , will be returning on my next visit to ayr

Lovely find on our visit to Ayr. Decided to stop for lunch, so glad we did. Food was absolutely delicious, hot and ample portions. Staff were friendly and polite dealing with our requests.

This place was great and the food was really nice.

Through just eat, called restaurant as my dip was missing for my starter and side was cold ! To be told,...they weren't willing to rectify this and to contact just eat !! They say it should be between me and just eat!!!! The manager was so unhelpful and we will never be back in the restaurant!!! Really disappointed with the place, we are regulars, so taken a back !

We were a family of 8 and maybe too many people to handle but the food was very standard, had a Risotto which I usually love but it was dry and rather tasteless. My partner's vegan menu was very limited. Our toddler at least enjoyed the kid's Spag Bog (made on request). Their wine list was horrific! Waiter said list was reduced due to lack of sales but at least could've left good wines as they get better with age!

Good service, the food was very nice. We were dining in between lunch and dinner, so it was quiet, but ambience was still good 👌

Overall Thoughts: in Ayr Scotland for a High School Field Trip. Obviously as an American we LOVE Pizza. We had some time before touring a museum and needed some lunch! Food divine. Best meal out I've had in years. Atmosphere so chilled, surroundings and decor top notch. Toilets beautifully clean and well styled. Lighting throughout restaurant very conducive to feeling relaxed. A little bit of Italy. We loved it. Meal deals very affordable.

I’m visiting Ayr, and I wanted to have a really nice meal whilst here. I glanced at the reviews for this restaurant and was expecting a very nice experience. What I got was a very mediocre experience. I ordered soup to start which had clearly been microwaved to death as it was scalding hot. It didn’t taste particularly interesting and came with a small piece of tired, looking bread and a plastic container with the butter in. In a restaurant, I would expect the butter to be served in a little dish. The pasta I ordered for the main course was extremely basic and thrown onto the plate. The sauce had one mushroom chopped up in it. It’s something I could’ve knocked up at home in five minutes. When I arrived I was asked to hurry up and order because the kitchen was closing, this was at about 8:30/ 9 o’clock and it made me feel really uncomfortable. I felt that some of the waiting staff were rushing me and to top it all off, I was served the wrong drink. I should’ve said something at the time, but I couldn’t be bothered as I only realised it was the wrong drink when I checked the menu after I had drunk most of it (cocktail). The service charge is not included because I would’ve been annoyed at paying for that. With a lot more finesse this could be a nice restaurant.

Been a regular customer for 15 years. Had the 2 course deal starter was great, however the fish in chips was a different story I have never seen such a small fish on a plate, so sad

Best waiting team E V E R. They have a childfriendly approach, and friendliness overall. Took great care of us and had a nice flow doing so. Thoroughly accommodating with taking orders and double-checking. The food delish and served looking good at yummy temperatures. Fries crispy and fleshy. Side salad everywhere with juicy dressing and all drinks served cold, with ice. Best place to treat yourself and yours' in Ayr by far 🥰 lovely atmosphere, and dont miss out on the apple pie 🫠

Early NYE dinner with no booking. Staff were great, service fast and food wonderful.

It closed on a Saturday night at 10pm even though it stated on Google that it was open until midnight, not very happy at all

We had a deal of 2 courses which was worth the money. Everyone enjoyed the main course especially the chicken. The only down size was the chips. Very small and bitty. The lady who ordered the pizza had quite a wait after the rest of us had our order. The sweet couldn't be faulted. The service was very good pleasant and enjoyable without being gushy. It was a Wednesday night so was quite. Overall value for money and a good night out for my husband's birthday. Thank you

Fantastic food! Travel to Ayr a lot yet this is my first time trying here. I believe that's due to the exterior of the restaurant but that was a poor judgement on my part. Inside is lovely decor, great atmosphere and food is fantastic and such friendly attentive staff.. Will definitely be back.

Gorgeous meal with great service. There is an offer on if you arrive early which we missed but still found their prices reasonable and the food was delicious. Friendly service throughout our time here. We ordered Italian sausage penne pasta, lasagna and a portion of garlic bread. Plus Honeycomb cheesecake to share as a dessert and a macciato coffee. Would definitely recommend

Had a meal there yesterday took advantage of Two courses offer for 16.95 I think it was pate was incredible lovely fresh salad lovely bread pate and chutney amazing had fish and chips for main batter was perfect lovely and crispy fish was succulent and tasty chips were to die for lol and nice little salad a bonus the homemade tartar sauce was so yummy who is this chef he's brilliant !!! Service was so friendly and warm and as a woman on her own made me feel so welcoming and comfortable great little gem of a place il be back and seaview too x

Terrible, worst food I have ever experienced..

Worst restaurant ever! Went there , table for two on my birthday! Blinded by the sun! , and , I mean blinded! Apparently the blinds, were broken! Asked to be moved, but too busy to care!, and no other tables available! Fish dish overcooked! If it hadn't, may have excused, the blinding, and sweating.! Couldn't wait to get out of there! No reduction on bill offered!
