Great delivery; very prompt. Tasty special fried rice and beef and black bean sauce.

food took over 1.5hrs to get delivered. when it arrived it was cold and slimy. there also wasn't any flavour to any of the food. the sweet and sour sauce was lumpy. the bbq ribs, the bbq sauce was more oil and what seemed to be water. the beef in the chow main was grizzly and slimy and so was the noodles. a first time ordering from here and after this evenings quality of meal I won't be ordering again from here. unfortunately I only give this meal a 1/5. 👎

Great food, great delivery guy… would totally recommend. Wish they could do a gravy for the chips.

Delivery driver tried to enter through the back gate and back garden, and acted annoyed when it was locked and wouldn't open. The food itself was good and both me and my partner enjoyed it.

The food here is so good! Everything's very flavourful and fresh. Never waited more than 25 mins for delivery despite the app saying it'd be over an hour!

Seems like new owners . Same menu, but the food was completely different. Usually have crispy chicken Peking style, this time it was brown not red, and had no chilli.

We always enjoy the food here! Easily the best consistent quality Chinese in Yeovil and arrived hot and delicious. The portions are large and definitely better suited for sharing. We did have to wait 1.5hrs after ordering, but must’ve just caught a busy Friday rush. Also to be fair the estimated delivery time wasn’t far off when we received and they did struggle to find us on an unlit road on a new build estate. Would recommend. Worth the wait!

The lady was very kind to deliver our meal by herself. We were so excited to have it , it was our favourite take way in the town ! Unfortunately is the new owner now and the food is not as great as was . It was very gresy, sticky and the taste wasn’t as good as expected. Definitely we will avoid this place now . It is a shame…

I had placed an order at 7pm for a small meal for myself, the time is now 8:30pm and it says “Enjoy your food.” I haven’t taken collection of this and they’ve taken my money. This place is an absolute joke.

Thought i would treat myself tonight, wish i didnt bother now... House Chow main, disgusting, smelted and tasted like lard, crispy beef, come luke-warm... egg fried rice, Rice over cooked and to Finnish it off the pancake roll was dripping with oil, had to scoop the inside out. poor experience.

Satay chicken had no taste of nuts, chow mien was fine, king prawns were big and juicy but ginger and spring onion sauce was tasteless. Made worse by the fact it was 45 minutes late. Had heard good things for this place but don’t waste your money.

Delivery was early however not happy with the food at all. Had to throw away all the meat as it was so chewy it was impossible to eat and the curry was so spicy. Chips were not good either

where was ti's food from? wasn't golden river, I'm very unhappy, curry has burnt my sons tongue, went to golden river as I've been a customer over 20 yrs, hoping it was just a mistake, the whole place is shut??? I'm no happy with the food nothing like the lively food I use to get from there, what have I eaten?? very angry

Really disappointed with food, it used to be my favourite Chinese, the rice was stodgy, the chicken was fatty, I received banana fritters instead of pineapple and the chips were dry. Really disappointed. Shame

The best Chinese you’ll find around Yeovil that will deliver!! Highly recommend

Definitely under new management, was not as good as we’re used to. Hour and a quarter to deliver, Sweet and sour sauce was very vinegary and rice was not like the old golden rivers. Shame as it used to be our favourite. What happened to the old people?

Not using this place again. Had the wrong food delivered and when I tried to ring (6 times) they didn't answer. We ordered at 5.55pm and the food was delivered at 7.20pm and being a Monday we thought it wouldn't be that long . And when we got to the kitchen we had the wrong order. I then had to drive back to the shop to drop off the wrong food. The lady was outside waiting for it and ignored me to ring the delivery guy and say she had the food, and just stayed in the street waiting.... so who ever had that food it must of been cold by the time you got it .

Very disappointed we have used this takeaway for a long time and the food has changed tastes funny overcooked and funny texture for the rice. Also very disappointed that a refund was not provided will never use golden river again and also not sure about just eat either as we were unable to eat the food and no refund given

Wasn’t please with the food. Curry was way to spicy and over powered the other food on plate. Ribs didn’t have no meat was all fat and gristle, won’t be ordering from here again.

Golden River was my preferred Chinese take away, specifically for their ribs. Previous large meaty and tasty. What arrived this time were tiny and so greasy and so disappointing. My chow mien was also tasteless and greasy. Maybe time to try elsewhere. Very disappointed.

This used to be our favourite Chinese we had one last weekend and it was disgusting not 1 single prawn in pancake rolls and in curry the sauce was thick will not be having from here again

Our main didn’t turn up. We were left with just sides. I tried to call the restaurant and just got a message telling me I’d dialled an incorrect order. Have complained to just eat, waiting to find out if I’m going to get a refund or not which, I better had or I will take it further. Totally unacceptable.

The food has changed since we last had it, I wouldn’t say for the better. I wonder if they are under new ownership.

Food is just horrible, I ordered seczunan beef and ribs and only thing I can say is don’t … undercooked, everything. It arrived 25min before is adverised, that’s only plus… price is ok too, but compering quality is not. First and last time customer. 👋🏻

Food spilt, bland sauce, bland chow mein and rice. Bland chips. Was supposed to order to the Golden River in Crewkerne but clicked Yeovil one by mistake. Dreadful. Never buying again

Ordered of Just Eat Amazing and Food was hot

Food was great, very tasty and not too heavy on the MSG. However we did feel the meal was pretty expensive for what we got and practically on par with a similar meal from the likes of Wagamama etc. Yes cost of living blah, blah, but this is a take-out at the end of the day and the cost is getting to the point where it’s just too expensive. We spent £39.30 including delivery and service charges (£3 total), and didn’t feel this was good value, portion size could’ve been better and was pretty poor if I’m honest. Portion size at Mandarin Chinese is better and for this order they always give free prawn crackers which Golden River did not. For info Mandarin is closed on a Wednesday hence we have this one a try.

Food was horrible, starchy hard chips, boiled flavourless rice which was supposed to be house special and the curry sauce was green and tasteless. Never again!!!!! I wouldn't give a star but otherwise it wouldn't let me post!!!!

Not great at all! Pancake roll was dripping in grease, the filling had no flavours and the rest of the meal was very bland too. Even the rice had cardboard style flavours.

Ordered tonight after work. Bbq sauce was the most bland and disgusting sauce I've ever had. Was more like a tasteless slime than a sauce. Pancake roll was dripping in grease had to scoop the filling out. Won't be ordering from here again I'm afraid.

By far my favourite chinese takeaway, has been for years! Tried the salt and pepper ribs tonight and they were delicious. I currently live in Solihull and I always get excited when I come to visit for a takeaway from here! 😋

Excellent food delivered quickly I love the chicken in orange sauce good value

Dreadful meal, the worst we’ve had as a takeaway in Yeovil. The noodles (chicken chow mein) were very greasy and the curry sauce was just so bland it ruined the meal & was tasteless. The prawn curry also suffered the same with a tasteless curry sauce which lacked flavouring. However, the prawn crackers were good, which is why this review gets one star!

I haven't been yet, but it highly recommended will be ordering very doon

Worst Chinese ever, if this is the best Yeovil have to offer then I guess I need to avoid Chinese food altogether. We couldn't even finish the food, it tasted like it had been cooked in decade old oils and dirty cookwear. The chicken balls were so overcooked it was rubbery enough to bounce out the bin yet the batter was not cooked enough. None of the meals had flavour and have left a really horrible aftertaste like I just put diesel in the car and accidentally consumed some. I wont eat here again not even for free.

This is the best Chinese around at this far as I'm concerned at the moment I had chicken balls and pancake rolls I highly recommend it it taste really nice
