Golden Plaice in Barnet

Such a poor chip shop and it shows the chips are rotten more like.mash potatoe taste like. Cheep oils. Thay are cooked in not.true chip shop thay just making do taking peoples.money such a shame as 1 only 2 chip.shops I n area. Defo no standards.

It is insane that they sell you fish with no chips, 8.60 for a piece of fish with anything else it is crazy. Don’t buy from them

El pescado es maravilloso, recién frito mientras esperas, pero en mi última visita hace aproximadamente un mes me decepcionaron mucho las patatas fritas. Flácido es una buena palabra para ellos, casi una ocurrencia tardía, sin crujir para ellos. Espero que esto haya sido único, ya que he estado viniendo aquí durante muchos años.

¡Mi vecino me dijo varias veces lo bueno que es esta tienda para tener un tradicional fish and chips! Lo probé el jueves y fue realmente maravilloso! Los peces son muy frescos y crujientes, con una zona de descanso muy cómoda y música relajante. El personal es muy amable y servicial. Por cierto, ahora están ofreciendo sushi recién hecho, y lo intentarán la próxima vez.

La masa es horrible cuando se deja en las horas del gabinete. Y cómo 3/4 veces mi salsa de curry no está caliente. Terrible cuando no puedes hacer lo más simple. Siempre el dueño también.

Amazing freshly cut chips, amazing fish fried in healthy rapeseed oil, everything freshly cooked, usually if it aint regular cod or sausages or pies there is a waiting time of around 6 min which means food is cooked freshly according to the clients needs!! Kind staff and nice area to seat, with big windows and some nice ambience music. One of the best, if not THE best, I've been in at least a year

Living in Colindale makes it joyful trip for my Fish Fridays - You can’t go wrong the fish always cooked fresh for you

This is by far the best Fish n Chips in Hendon. The chips are the classic chunky style you want from a British chippy, they’re wrapped in very nice paper, open or closed so have that authentic feel to them. They do offer boxes for a charge and you can eat in for a bit more too. Their menu has quite a wide range of options and they’ve even got a lunchtime offer as well - which makes it great if that’s what you want for lunch. I find the folks who work here really courteous and polite, very friendly and welcoming so definitely feel valued as a customer to return rather than feeling as though I’ve just disturbed someone. They only take cash, so be advised as the closest cash machines are either opposite the pub at the top of the road or at the junction at the bottom. I’ve found their fish to be delicious when fresh, but you know if it’s under the lamp, you never know - I’ve not have the experience of other reviews, but that’s a reality, and you can always ask how long it’s been there for and if you don’t like it maybe they can make it fresh for you. I like the look and feel of the shop, the exposed bricks are cool and their selection is great. It’s a shame they close at 9pm but at the same time at least that means it’s more family friendly rather than relying on the late night drunk crowd. All in all a great place with sensible pricing and delicious food. If you’re local try it out, you’d be hard pressed to find somewhere better.

Had my cod cooked to order twice before and it was great. Today's cod was taken from the cabinet and was terrible. It was hours old and was as chewy as a steak. Chips were as good as usual.

If I want fish and chips this is where I go. The fish is always fresh, the chips are always tasty and the service is always friendly. Sometimes you have to wait a few minuets while they fry up some fresh fish, but that is fine by me as I would rather wait a little than be served with something stale that was cooked hours before. There are tables to sit down and eat though most people come in for a take away. The portions are always good and I would happily recommend this place or should that be plaice.
