Got the order wrong rang back to see if I could go and collect the food they have got wrong tried to charge me extra and then proceeded to hang up the phone to me. Not very professional I would say!

We decided to have duck and pancakes, soup and ribs last night (28-03-24) and although the soup was lovely the duck was awful, very dry and chewy. The ribs weren’t much better!!! We have used the golden phoenix a few times before and really enjoyed the food but will definitely not be using them again after this experience, maybe a different chef was used to normal 🤔😩

Prices quite high compared to most Chinese places & found quality really poor, won't be going again.

Order arrived of salt n pepper chilli chicken+ fried rice+ chips ,delivery super fast , delivery service spot on , red hot when arrived . Will definitely be ordering from these again .

Overcooked chips 9 times out of 10. Surely it can't be that hard to cook chips?

Struggled finding a good takeaway in our area but this one is the best, food delivered hot with big portions

My wife and myself ordered a takeaway of crispy chicken Cantonese and special plum sauce, with prawn crackers. My Cantonese was OK. However my wife's special plum sauce had all the meat covered in batter. Which wasn't stated on the menu. The prawns crackers were awful and stale, and tasted like they were made the night before. Won't be going back. Very disappointing.

The best I have ever had update ,the 2nd best now Tasty Wok Washington no 1. Just had another great meal thanks.

Really tasty meal, well presented and cooked quickly while we waited. Would have given 5* except for the fact it is cash only and the nearest cash point is a 15 minute walk away!

Chicken and prawn dishes good. Pork very poor (ribs and char Sui chop suey) avoid those.

Best Chinese takeaway in North Shields by far. Top quality food, piping hot when delivered, quick delivery time. Big portions as well.

Good Chinese food, a family favourite. I've recently given up meat and their all vegetable options of my usual dishes are delicious.

Great take away, food is always tasty and never takes too long to be prepared. Only downside I can think of is they don't take card payment.

Been using the golden pheonix for the last 10 years plus, was always the best around and wouldn’t go anywhere else. However over the last six months it’s hittty missy, depends on the cheff that is there on the night. Over the last fiew months the food we have had has been really poor. I ring and let them know but nothing has changed. The delivery driver is always looking for the change, asking me if I want my change, my 14 year old daughter answered and paid she was Short changed £10.we won’t be using them anymore. Real shame as they were the best.

Good, simple well-cooked food. It's not Chinatown but it's consistently good. Unusually for a takeaway they have a 5 star food hygiene rating on the door.

I've never been to a better Chinese takeaway! All of the food cooked here is very nice and the people working are friendly. I'd highly recommend the Golden Phonix, to anyone looking for very nice Chinese takeaway!

I love this place and go out of my way to order from there every time. There is a lot of take aways in this area, and this one has to be one of the best. The food is always hot and tastes great. If your ordering for delivery it normally takes 30 - 45 minutes, but it's worth the wait. I have stopped getting normal chips, you have to try there chili salt chips. Would highly recommend this place.
