Went to Amici’s for a meal with my family in february the experience wasn’t pleasant the service was slow and the food we got was freezing cold we got penne romana a meat feast pizza and lasagna, pizza was cold pasta was warm but wasn’t hot and the lasagna was also cold, we won’t be returning anytime soon unless improves massively

Great restaurant, we had the mezze to share for a starter, very nice. Authentically Greek food as a lot of the staff are Greek and very personable.

Best Greek food in Newcastle, staff are lovely as always never had a bad experience in this place

First time trying this restaurant as we seen it is a Greek and Italian restaurant, we opted out for the Greek menu and it was amazing the most authentic Greek food I have tried in Newcastle we will 100% be back. The staff were amazing as well all with a massive smile on their face

I recently visited Amici, and it was an outstanding experience! The food was brilliant and incredibly tasty. The staff were friendly and amazing, making the whole experience even better. I couldn't find a single fault with this place. It's definitely worth a visit!

Great varied menu. Lovely food and attentive service. Wish it was not so dark in there though. All our group commented on how it was just too dark. Getting more light in would turn my 4 star review into a 5 star. :)

No vayas tanto desde que nos mudamos de la zona, pero nuestra visita no decepcionó. La misma bienvenida amable con sabrosa comida bien cocinada que tiene un punto de precio razonable. Buena relación calidad-precio. Volveré a visitar pronto.

Cansado amici con mi familia y era hermoso, el personal era muy rápido y amable tuvimos una comida de ajo setas langostinos rey haloumi Patato pieles y ajo pan tomate. Todo muy bien cocinado la red que teníamos penne romana, pizza parma, lagsane, y pollo souvlaki. ¿Y qué puedo decir que todo fue hermoso? Al final nos ofrecieron un trago gratis de sambuca de limoncello en la casa no podía agradecerles lo suficiente!

We have just had an absolutely delicious meal. We don't get out much and the staff were very attentive and looked after us. The Garlic mushrooms were amazing and so fresh. Pizza and pasta amazing too. Hadn't realised we couldnt leave a tip on the card so will bring double next time! Thank you for the hospitality!

Qué lugar tan bonito. Un restaurante familiar donde todas las generaciones trabajan juntas, para asegurar la consistencia en toda la comida, todo lo cual se prepara fresco, con la abuela todavía haciendo todas las salsas. 5 estrellas, todo el día, todos los días. Realmente hecho para sentirse bienvenido, a pesar de que no teníamos reserva. El servicio fue rápido y amable. La comida era fuera de este mundo, absolutamente increíble. Los 4 teníamos algo diferente para comer, entrante, principal y dulce. Cada uno de nosotros estaba convencido de que nuestra comida era la mejor. Valor, increíblemente barato para lo que tenemos. Como ex chef yo mismo, esta familia proporciona una comida increíble, gran ambiente, atento pero discreto, nada era un problema. Gracias chicos, volveremos, cada vez que volvamos al norte.

I came here for my christmas night out, Turkey dinner was amazing, pudding gorgeous, staff were lovely and accomodating. Definitely recomend so much choice. Staff couldnt have done enough xxxx

What an excellent meal, served by efficient staff. I had the potato skin starter, I know people will yarn at this, but they were a different standard, piping hot not to fat and absolutely bucket loads of them. I went for the calzone pizza with chilli sauce topping, and it was again gigantic yet cooked to perfection. My wife had the ravioli and this was divine and yes, a very healthy portion. The staff were fantastic, there if you needed them but not in your face. The price was brilliant. Hand on heart, I'll be back for more as the menu was a headache to choose from Ps there's specials on throughout the week. 10/10 Revisited 22/10/24, as above brilliant food, served professionally at great prices.

Booked in for a famìly celebration . Seated quickly and drinks service was nice and quick . Food orders were taken and starters arrived promptly, followed by mains . Staff were attentive but not obtrusive . Music was a shade too loud but as seated in side area did not stop conversation. Overall excellent food and service.

Absolutely love Amici, I have been going for about 20 years. The food is so delicious. Staff are really friendly as well. I was blown away by the renovation too. Only thing I’d change is lowering the music a bit 😂 We prefer to dine in but have had takeaway too and it’s still superb.

Absolutely gem of a restaurant. Yes it's an Italian restaurant...but the food is extra special. My pizza literally blew me away. Cooked to perfection and with a literal full garlic bulb went onto this pizza. The way I like it. The drinks were on point too. Brilliant staff taking care of us.

Very friendly, llamb shank was good. Went in happy, came out happy. Relaxed atmosphere and would go back.

The food was lovely, the service was hit and miss. Took ages for our food to come but that was OK as we were chatting. We asked for another drink which never turned up but managed to appear on the bill - they did remove it when we queried it.

We come here often, as our local Italian/Greek restaurant. Service is always friendly and food is amazing, with plenty of choice. On Sundays they serve traditional roast dinners, as well as the main Italian/Greek options from the menu. Our local gem!

As others have said service was very slow. When the food arrived it was average. Wouldn’t return as there are many other Italian options in the area with better food and service.

It’s a long time since we’ve been here and wouldn’t rush back. Initial table seating wasn’t acceptable, we booked for seven people and at first the seating arrangement was awful. The waitress changed it around as she she said she had lots of bookings🤷‍♀️ Waited a while for initial drinks, then another while to order.. food was mediocre, service was lax. Seem to cater for regulars which is fair enough, but todays newcomers but be tomorrows regulars 🤔

Poor service, poor food. Starters arrived with one missing, had to go look for waitress to get the final one which it turned out she hadn't ordered. When it came, everyone else had finished. Ordered new potatoes but got fried, sauce never arrived and food was very bland. The carbonara was very 'wet' and saucy - it should be quite dry. The linguine was very oily with little flavour and the lasagne was soggy. Ordered lime and soda, got lemonade. We needed a lot of extra seasoning. Wouldn't revisit. Feel they need to choose between Greek and italian as they haven't got either right here!

Haven't been here in years due to slow service, will not be returning, service worse than ever even though it was quiet and very early in the evening. Staff have a couldn't care less attitude which is a shame as the foods alright.

First time trying Amici after a recommendation. All I can say is, if you're in the Forest Hall area, give it a try. Varied menu of Italian and Greek. I had pasta, other half had chicken skewers, both where excellent. Staff are very helpful explaining the different meals if you're not sure. On street parking only.

A long time since we last visited , but after bad experiences in cheaper Italian restaurants closer to us, we decided to return. Young chap who served us and all other staff very friendly - good start thats what we want , nice ambience but not as many in as I would have expected , maybe the cost of living effect . everything fine , would have been a 5 instead of a 4 but for the penne arriabiatta , it was quite dry and hardly any sauce on it, wanted to mention it at the time but other half said its tasted fine just no sauce , she always has this , so next time hopefully they remember to put a little more sauce in , but will defo return,portions a good sizetoo , well done

Decent food for myself but overpriced. Had the lamb kleftako and was almost 17 quid. Literally was the shank and potatoes. No greens so looked bland. Tasted nice. Partner had gluten free pasta but was cooked to mush. Would go back though I suppose. Staff friendly but service was slow.

Friendly, welcoming, family-run restaurant - the food was delicious, it's so nice to have Greek dishes out here in Forest Hall!

Another successful visit with two friends who had never been before. We all went for the potato skins which were delicious and I opted for the mushroom risotto which was yummy. Staff were as friendly as ever – not long before we have a return visit!

On Saturday the 25 of February my wonderful daughter went and organised a party of 16 of us at Amici We had the most amazing time lucy and her staff looked after us so well and the food was amazing it was so nice no body complained about the service nothing Thank you so much for making my 70th birthday so special

We had a brilliant lunch from the Christmas Fayre Menu. The most amazing Chicken andHam Broth that was a meal in itself with home made bread and Traditional Roast Turkey with all the trimmings. It was delicious at £13:95 for two courses or £16:95 for three. We were so full we couldn’t manage desserts. Lucky to have this lovely family run Greek restaurant in Forest Hall !

Chips - Minging and find it hard to believe they were hand cut. Cost - £31.45 although I get the total to be £29.50 so I assume the additional £1.95 was for the virtually non-existent cheese on the garlic brea d. All I can say is that I was so hungry I could have eaten a scabby dog otherwise I would have taken it back. Never again!

Popped in with a friend last week we used to go all the time before covid. all was well and the service was going great. We both ordered steak was abit disappointed as the sauce was smeared all over the steak but I suppose this is just a personal preference. The steak was overcooked …. Asked for medium and got it well done! Ruined my fillet steak but above all I was really disappointed when the waiter made a very obscene comment “suppose your paying” then laughed at me and gave the bill to my friend who was male. I corrected him and replied “in fact I am paying”. It really threw me and I won’t be returning. I don’t who was more embarrassed, us, the waiter or the family next of us who’s jaws dropped!

The whole family love it here! Good food at good prices

It’s no secret me and the restaurant have had issues previously, but this is nothing to do with the food but simply an access issue cos I live close by. Anyway a friend of mine is a regular visitor and rates the place highly so we decided to give it a go. Pleased we did as the whole experience was enjoyable. Friendly staff and decent food and that’s all you can ask for. Overall I would def recommend the place as it’s reasonably priced with good quality food and in my experience friendly staff.

Myself and my wife were in the restaurant on Sunday 4th of September,, we sat next to the ladies that made a very abrut seen to the owner , ( see post about owner) They ordered a starter that clearly states on the menu tziki OR hummus they then challenged staff when the bill arrived that they would not pay for both starters,,,, the owner kindly agreed to take one of the starters off the bill,,, But one of the ladies was extremely rood and persisted to cause a seen in the restaurant and me and my wife were extremely upset that we have been dining here for the past 15 years and know that the family are extremely accommodating and professional as the restaurant has been owned by the family for over 20 years I was shocked to here the attitude of the ladies that complained and also that they have put a review on here, as the problem was resolved as far as I'm concerned,

The meal itself was ok however the service was slow but worst of all when we queried something on the bill that shouldn't have been on there, the woman argued with us then she gave my friend the worst look and said she would take...
