Golden Phoenix in Nottingham

The food arrived really quickly, and the delivery driver was nice, polite and respectful to property. The food was nice and hot, and tasted great. We'd not ordered from this restaurant before, but we'll definitely ordered from here again, and soon.

Ribs were pure fat chips were old and hard very disappointed think they have a new chef, or they don’t care since opening the restaurant

Chow mein too dry, chicken tastes off. I won't order again

Ordered via just eat. 2 hours later food still not arrived. And that is an hour later than I was told when I placed the order. Called them and they said they hadn’t cooked it yet. Too late to eat at that point. Shocking. Shouldn’t accept orders if they can’t fulfil them.

Ordered thrpugh Just Eat....delivery time was a while, but within the stated time slot. Food was fab, best Chinese we've had in a long time. Would def order again from here! Lots of food, good portion size with lots of meat n not crammed of veg to bulk it out. Really tasty and lovely and hot!

The old lady at the reception desk is very rude and insulting. We got there thinking it was The Golden Phoenix buffet restaurant as we were confused with the very similar names. It was our honest mistake but the lady got offended and said “you have a reservation you should know where you are going” This kind of customer service is not expected in the UK where people are so helpful and polite.

Tried it twice (once in 2022 and then again last week) - both times I got food poisoning and I will definitely not buy from this place again.

I was initially very pleased with this place, and left a very positive 5* review on justeat. However, despite the positive remarks, I was still met with a rude, sarcastic and frankly humiliating response. I have anxiety and it’s honestly been playing on my mind all day. I stand by the food being very good, but the response has put me off ordering again frankly. Don’t expect much out of the staff (besides the delivery boy he was very nice)

They have recently been taken over by new owners, I think there was a bit of unfair backlash as the food is different. However I also do like the new food so I would urge people to give them a chance

Lovely service but the food has really gone downhill in flavour. Everything tastes the same with a vinegar flavour. When the new owners first took over it Was nice flavours but not now.

The new owners are nice and the fact that it is no longer cash only helps because the cash points are nowhere nearby. However, unfortunately under the new ownership you can tell the difference in the food and so we will not be returning again. The egg fried rice didn't taste the same and neither did our other usual dishes, there was an acquired taste to the food and it upset my stomach. Doesnt feel good when you've spent money, though not too bad for pricing i did notice things had gone up slightly, so when you dont enjoy your food it feels like a loss. Such a shame as it is hard to find a good takeaway these days.

We've tried a few positions from the menu and were very happy with the flavours and quality.chicken curry,salt and pepper chicken,salt and pepper King prawn very nice! Very friendly staffs.

New ownership and you can really tell. Food tastes horrible chowmein is pale and doesn’t taste like a chowmein. Stringy chicken. Told to collect it in ten minutes took 25 minutes for it to be ready which isn’t too big of a deal but worth commenting on.

Good takeaway. So far the best combination of quality and distance and options and price from where we live.

Food is very good again after a decline a few years ago so we are back to using the golden phoenix from willow House as our regular.

Ordered egg fried rice turned out it contained wait for it .......no egg 🤷‍♂️ the only place in the world where you can order egg fried rice and get just fried rice 🤦🏼‍♂️ not recommended I definitely wont be ordering from here again

I am usually happy with my order, this time around I was very disappointed ordered a pork chow mein the noodles was oily even thou they claim the chef didn't use a lot of oil and more water I think I know the difference from touching it and my hand was greasy. My bbq ribs were also not what I'm accustomed to fully disappointed today, wasted money.

always had a decent experience up until tonight. wasn’t happy with the food was a off smell and put me off my food and just didn’t taste how it usually did. so i called to explain i wasn’t happy i just got that there is nothing wrong with there food as no-one else hasn’t complained. baring in mind it doesn’t matter what others think as it was my food and i was paying for it. so will not be ordering again after my refund..if i get it

We didn’t enjoy the food. The first I’ve seen a restaurant using spam (tinned ham) in their food. The shredded duck was also very dry.

Will not go again. Im medically exempt from wearing a mask. Not only they wanted proof (didnt have my card with me) but also proof of medication. This goes completely against disability rights. Disability discrimination is what it is. We left and went to a different restaurant that didnt request any of this. Very disappointed!!!

Horrible customer service!! We never have any problems at all ordering here but when the driver arrived, he short changed us and as soon as we'd realized he'd just driven off so we rang to be told that apparently it's the customers job to check the change, not the drivers! Don't think the manager would say the same had we got more change than necessary. I wasn't even listened to and was called a liar straight away. Was so disappointed with the service and the way everything was dealt with. Get some drivers that know what they're doing, you need it!

Chicken tasted of fish, rang and spoke to the owner and after 25 ish years of using could not care less that I'd paid and still got no food. Wont be going back after the insult of 10% discount next time. Sort yourselves out

ordered from here tonight the meal took longer to arrive than stated and food arrived warm not hot enough sweet and sour dish was so vinegary it put us off rang upto complain lady on the phone very unhelpful and yirtually laughed it off and said thats how the dish is when ive ordered before and said this isnt upto your usual standards if i was in a restaurant it would have been returned to the kitchen and i wouldnt pay if ever we order food from franchises or other chineses they cant do enough for and apologise profusely well theyve delivered there last meal here

The food is always good from this place. That have never let me down.

Good food and good fast service. The only problem I found was when ringing the telephone number from the website; the call was either cancelled immediately or it didn't get through.

Buy from here 2 - 3 times per month and always find the owner and staff pleasant and chatty. Food is always to a high standard and their mock meat curries etc are lovely. I'm happy enough that I wouldn't try elsewhere.

Been going for year great food.

First time trying here tonight. The two male members of staff behind the counter were ignorant spent their time f-ing it loudly as for the food the prawn toast was tasteless and soggy as hell and the pork Hong Kong style was over cooked with what tasted like a cheap sweet and sour sauce poured over it. NEVER AGAIN
