Always good food and never had a bad meal. we have used this Chinese takeout for many years thanks guys keep it up

I’ve been using you for years but what’s happened? Sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style was so dry and tough you could sole your shoe with it and hardly any sauce, beef in black bean sauce, the beef was chewy, egg fried rice was soggy. The prawn crackers were ok. Paid over £20 for something I could cook better myself at home. Need to find a new Chinese I think.

I loved the food me and grandad will be coming again!

very disappointed,when handed the food i checked the rice and there was a FLY! a bloody fly!! get the old owners back ASAP.there was a crying boy still in his school uniform doing the counter.

I really really enjoyed the food. Thank you so much for brightening my evening and the egg fried rice is sensational.

Went with my friends, my first time trying Chinese food, great customer service and food was tasty .

We only ordered shredded duck, so cannot comment on a variety of food. However, the duck was ready within 15 minutes and came with a generous helping of cucumber and sauce. The waiting room is fairly small and often crowded. It does make me a little uncomfortable though, placing an order with a child behind the counter and no adult in sight !

Amazing food, fast and reliable service. Would definitely recommend. Lots of choice on the menu and a lovely takeaway.

Food has gone downhill big time since new owners came in and changed the menu and the price is now a joke used to be the best in higham but not anymore now it’s dead in there. I ordered rice and I was given last nights left overs to which was hard rice to which made me ill for a few weeks PLEASE DO NOT USE unless you wish to have food poisoning

Visited on Friday 2nd June. Ordered 2 special curries which were perfect. And the young gentleman taking orders and answering the phone was very polite and well mannered. Will definitely return !

Worst Chinese I have ever had. Beef in the chow mein was slimy and tasteless. There was so much colouring in chicken sweet and sour in looked radioactive! A meal for one was £18.00. Disgusting!

Ordered Chow mein got special fried rice. Called restaurant and she said the noodles are under the rice WTF. also she said cash machine next door when we got there the machine our of order so had to use one further away. When we picked up food I said about the cash machine not working and she yeah I know 🙄. It was over priced and my boyfriends food was really poor Shangai style chicken it tasted like pork scratchings with sauce. Will not be going back

I’ve tried numerous Chinese takeaways in In this area but this one hits the jackpot and now I’m a regular customer they always provide adequate service and the food is just absolutely delicious. WOULD RECOMMEND!!!!!

Golden Pavilion used to be the best for miles around some years ago. Then in came new owners and its reputation steadily went down. I decided to try the place again as I hadn't been there for over quite a while. I wish I hadn't. The food was so awful, I threw it away. Overcooked in dirty oils and fats. I wondered how they make a living, customers must be drifting away in droves. All a big shame really.

Poor standard , staff not very polite . Food was expensive , normally boiled rice is included with a curry . The curry sauce looked like diahorrea, the chicken was poor quality and slimmy. The duck was dry .the rice was stoggy. Worst Chinese I have ever had.

The salt and pepper chips are very good but the rest of the food was fairly standard. The main issue i had was that when I returned home I found that one of our dishes was missing. When I returned to collect it no apology was offered at all. The least they could do was offer an apology for their mistake.

Bit disappointed me and my family have been coming here for years the food used to be so good now it’s all gone down hill. The sweet and sour sauce tastes like rubber , the duck was burnt and my partners chicken curry didn’t taste nice at all and they don’t give out prawn crackers you have to pay for it I will definitely not be returning.

A very loyal customer left dissatisfied. My family spend well over £100 a month at this takeaway. The shop usually give a bag of prawn crackers with our order and today they didn’t. When asking the lady why they didn’t put any in this week, I was told they no longer put the crackers in. I will take my loyal business elsewhere.

Had their sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style and it was awful. Chicken had soggy batter and one big bit of chicken had been battered then cut into slices, meaning no individually battered and fried pieces. Only gave 2 stars because my daughters food was ok.

Rang and booked a takeaway to pick up on Saturday evening. Most enjoyable Chinese I’ve had in ages! Really wish there was a decent Chinese restaurant around me.

Came here after recommendation from friends. Not disappointed. Great food which kept lovely and hot until I got home. Not greasy. Size of portions good. I can see why so many people like this Chinese take away.

We took a chance in giving this Chinese takeaway another chance after a couple of average to poor meals. Bad decision the duck with plum sauce was 70% pineapple 29% fatty duck and a tiny amount of tasteless sauce, no plum was detected! The pork chow win was like rubber. All in all not good.

2nd time now... Just as good if not better. If you're using this to work out where to eat, just come here. You won't be disappointed.

The food is always delicious and tastes really good . I would Highly recommend the Singapore noodles , Salt & chilli king prawns , Satay chicken main meal and sweet and sour chicken. I would defiantly recommend friend and family to come here .

Gone down hill big time. Food no where near as good as it was. Just seems a lot more rushed. And no where near the taste the dishes used to have.

Where do I begin the chicken chow main is on point and Vincent is the most helpful person ever, highly rate this to those who enjoy a Mexican. I ment Chinese. If I could I would work there. I also would recommend you doing Chinese style ribs as u think they would be a hit. If I could I'd rate 10 out of 10. Overpriced and small portions. Poor quality food. Order taken by a crying child still in their school uniform. The meat in the sweet and sour 'pork' and 'beef' curry was dubious.

Excellent good quality Chinese take away, family run with friendly happy service. Never had a poor meal from them.

Had a takeaway from here the other night and it was really very good indeed! The pancake rolls were well filled and nice and crisp. The duck in orange sauce was very good - a decent portion of duck on top of pineapple with a tangy tasty sauce. The chips were excellent, both crispy and fluffy. The ribs were meaty and plentiful. Shall certainly be ordering from here again!

Visited tonight and ordered vegetarian curry, veggie sweet and sour, veggie chow mein and mushroom rice and made it very clear that each was to be vegetarian. I'm half way through the chow mein when it dawned on me that there were prawns and strips of meat in the chow mein. By then taking it back was not an option. My evening feast is ruined. Don't trust this take-away if you are a vegetarian!!!

Great food and good service. Always welcoming and remember their customers. I tried it once when I first moved to Rushden and keep coming back.

On a girls night in we thought we’d have a Chinese and placed an order. Food was ready really quickly and was hot and fresh. Duck in orange was really nice - there was rather a lot of pineapple to ‘bulk it out’ but I do quite like pineapple! The ribs were pretty decent - a good amount of meat on them. The chow mein was quickly devoured and mini vegetable spring rolls with sweet chilli dip were most pleasant indeed! We thought the price was fairly reasonable too for the amount of food we had! All in all - we were pleasantly surprised!

Staying in the village and decided to get something quick to eat one evening. I was pleasantly surprised with how good the dishes were. Staff very friendly. Only thing is the salt and pepper chicken was more salty than spicy. Other dishes were lovely though.

Both Kung po and Sweet and sour dish doused with same sauce. No kick to Kung po. No fresh spring onion or anything. Singapore chow mein tasteless no zing!! Prawn toast stoggy! A disgrace. Won't eat here again!!

This used to be the best Chinese takeaway in town but no longer. I think it has new owners but the quality has gone down hill, hopefully they'll find their way back.

About once a year I think to myself 'ooh I really fancy a Chinese' we used the golden pavilion as live near by - we ordered chicken chow mein, sweet and sour king prawns, chips and curry sauce. We phoned the other through and told it would be ready to collect in 5 mins - being hungry you think 'woo hoo' but then it does make you wonder how they can produce a meal so fast! Anyway - the food was hot and edible although we can't say we particularly enjoyed it - the prawns were rather tough and coated in a not very pleasant tasting batter. The sweet and sour sauce was rather runny and tasteless. The chow mein was bland and greasy - the curry sauce seemed to be packet mix.... Chinese takeaway used to be a 'cheap' option but now it seems so expensive for what seems inferior quality ingredients. After eating this we were immediately reminded why we only seem to ever have one Chinese a year - there not especially nice and are very overpriced!!! We'll stick with Indians in future!

The service is very good but can get very busy at times, ring your order through as I have waited up to 40 minutes at busy times. The food is very good and freshly made. Only accept cash but there is a ATM close by

This used to be the best local Chinese takeaway, but since it changed hands, it's very poor. Food is bland, tasteless. Processed meat and thin sauces. After our last takeaway a few months back, decided to give it another go....last chance, never again.

La comida excelente como siempre, pero luego, cuando el chef ha tenido 32 años experiencia no es realmente sorprendente. Comida fresca. Teníamos 1 x Salsa de pollo bolas de arroz dulce y agria con duros, 1 x 1 y pato y jengibre Pollo Limón absolutamente delicioso. El personal siempre sonriente y amable y con una factura de poco menos de £19 estuvimos más que contentos. Si estás buscando una noche lejos de la cocina no te puedes equivocar aquí.

Rápido y eficiente para llevar comida china, bastante buena, ha cambiado los nombres de un par de veces, pero aún así la calidad es la misma. Local para nosotros y no volveré.

We have used here for the past few years now and have always had lovely food with no complaints.Food never takes any longer than 20 minutes generally and is always piping hot and tasty!Staff all very pleasant.The times we have gone else where we haven't had anything as nice as here. Would highly recommend!

Terrible this chinese has been taken over in the last 6 weeks the new lady on the counter is absoloutly gormless. The quality of there dishes has dropped dramaticly. They are slowly changin everything to a worse version and going for cheaper ingrediants. The new chips are awfull in comparison to the old style and are extremely dry. There chicken balls are now really flat and very bland amd have an awfull squidgy texture. My hk style pork isnt even all covered in the sauce anymore and they the onions have no sauce over them what so ever they also cut the peppers and pineapplw reiculously big.absoloute poor standards and a let down of a once was (untill very recently) outstanding chinese. Really guttin me and my partner use to use this every week without fail. Shall not be goinf back again! The only reason I am giving them 2 stars instead of one is because they havnt gave me food poisoning. Bring back the old owner.

We have used various Chinese takeaways in the area but we both agree that this is the best one. We always enjoy the dishes we order and its always warm. If you want a nice Chinese at a good price I would highly recommend the golden pavilion...

I had ordered chicken and cashew nuts but the meal contained more vegetables than chicken. The chicken in lemon sauce was very soggy. The only good thing about the meal was the chips.

Great staff, always friendly and happy to help. Excellent and consistent quality of food and service. Been going to this takeaway regularly since moving into the area and will continue to do so for as long as they are trading! Great, fresh food.

This is the only Chinese takeaway we use now, it's definitely the best in the area. The food is always hot, cooked well and tastes good.

We usually order from the other Chinese takeaway in Higham Ferrers. Unfortunately, due to them being closed for a holiday, we took a chance and ordered from the Golden Pavilion instead. We arrived home to discover we had the wrong order & the majority of what we did try went in the bin as it was pretty tasteless. The service is fine, the food isn't.

The Golden Pavilion is local to us and never fails to please when we want a quick meal after a hectic day.

Had takeaway on Friday night. Tasty food, quick service and around 5 quid a dish so reasonable value. Lots of veggies less meat in the dishes but all 4 we had were OK.Food very hot so good when we got home. Cash only but cash machine next door.Would buy from here again.

If I am wanting Chinese food in Higham Ferrers it's always the Golden Pavilion - never been disappointed with the service, the quality of the food or the size of the portions.Price of the food is about right for the area.

Incredible food and lovely staff - I NEVER go to any other Chinese unless I'm desperate, haha. The sweet crispy beef is to die for, and the Won Ton soup is just like how they really make it - perfect and authentic taste! My only complaint is that they reaaaaally need a dine-in option!

Cannot fault the food...We would use this chinese more if they delivered but then again not many Chinese take outs do.

Have used the Pavilion for nine years and they have always been excellent. Have tried others round friends houses and none have been anywhere near as good and most of our friends have converted to the Pavilion. The only reason why all of them have not changed is that they don't deliver, but it is worth the drive.

The food is very good and we are yet to find anywhere better. We have tried various take away venues in the area but have not yet found one.

I have ordered from here several times. Service is very quick. Food excellent. Orders are taken over the phone locally for collection. Staff always pleasant and helpful. I am a really fussy eater and I have no problem at all in recommending this takeaway.

Been here a few times for a takeaway and never had a bad meal yet. All food is excellent. If you don't phone your order through I guarantee you will have a bit of a wait as it's always very busy. Never been in when empty.

Over priced and less than reasonable food . Had shocking food 6 months ago . Complained and was told that is how it is. Tried again as told it was "ok" it wasn't and also quite expensive when it goes in bin. Won't eat there again!!

I've been to every Chinese takeaway locally and the quality of food at the Golden Pavillion is 2nd to none. I have friends from Wellingborough that only come over to see me as an excuse to have a Chinese from the Golden Pavillion. All the staff are very pleasant and friendly. Highly recommended for anyone who hasn't been yet. You will not be disappointed.

Always polite, fast service and value for money and willing to change ingredients...I like more chilli in some of the meals.

We had a takeaway from here and the food was truly exceptional. We have had a number of takeaways from here over the past few years and it's always been great. If your in the area then try it, you won't be disappointed.

With so many different choices for chinese takeaway in Higham and Rushden, it can be quite baffling which one to pick, but this is a guaranteed good choice, ordered our meal on a Saturday evening when it was busy busy and within 20 mins it was ready, staff very friendly and food is to die for, portions are huge, our twins and one of their friends wanted the Chicken Sweet and Sour balls so we ordered three bags!! well when we opened them there were 11 in each, not small either, so we had alot left over, portions of chips are huge also so no need to have a portion per person unless you like alot of chips. All in all a fab place, food tasted lush we will be using Golden Pavillion again. :)

We have had takeaway at the Golden Pavillion on about 4 occasions. There is nothing really wrong with the food; it is hot and well cooked. However we remained disappointed about the value of the meals. We expected more meat content on each visit and felt that the dishes fail to represent good value for money. Their refusal to give even a few Prawn Crackers to other customers who placed large orders caused some consternation at the counter. Disappointing.

I always find you never get a bad chinese takeaway,either average or very good.We collected a large takeaway from here last week and found the food,a chicken curry,ribs,an omelette meal and a chicken chow mein to be all of a decent standard.This totalled a shade over 20 pounds which was reasonable.I do not believe they deliver which is a shame too.Will return.

Although I live a few miles down the road in Stanwick now, this is still my "go to" place for Chinese takeaway. I can't comment on a huge variety of dishes as I usually have the house special curry, but I've had a few of the others like the lemon chicken and they're always lovely.Definitely recommended!
