Always a good experience here, prompt food for collection and happy to amend orders depending on what you want

Had two meals from here , chicken balls are dry tho .but everything else Hot, tasty and cooked well

Not as good as it used to be. New chef maybe? Too heavy on the soy sauce.

Ordered via Just Eat App. Food took 1hr 45mins to arrive. Chased via app and had no reply, rang twice and had no answer. Food arrived cold and with incorrect items. Requested refund and was told “we were busy” Will not order again. Terrible service all round and the food was average.

Usually get a decent meal. Tonight our arrived stone cold. Very disappointed 😢

Always enjoy our meals from here and the service is always good. We often order to collect at a certain time and it is always ready and waiting. Best Chinese food in the area.

18/11/23..just had a brilliant Takeaway from The Golden Palace it was tasty ,hot brilliantly seasoned and each individual dish tasted different... sometimes it's all a bit samey...if it was meant to be crispy it was ...I was full but couldn't stop eating...we ordered meal for 2 , chicken Kung po( and chips for my son ,he said they were great as well)...great meal ,thanks guys

To cut a long story short-it was OK. I enjoyed the chicken chow mien. I still think the Hong Kong Chinese Takeaway (Higham Ferrers) is one of the best in the area.

They could not deliver because they were too busy - fair enough on a Satuday evening. But when I went to pick up my order an hour later, they refused to give me it, even though payment had been completed on the phone, because they had spelt my name wrong on the order? My daughter had paid on her card, but they still would not give me the takeaway. A waste of food & a waste of time. Now batling for a refund. Let them deliver, do not pick up. Or dont bother at all.

Always really nice food here, but as with everything, it's quite expensive.

Used because local restaurant was closed and so happy it was. Food arrived very hot even though it was slightly further away, very tasty and will definitely use again. Highly recommend

Food full of flavour, large portions and arrives hot! Compared to other Chinese takeaways, this one is so much better. Price I would say I’d average and by the taste of the food it’s very fresh. Reasonable delivery time and friendly staff.

Don't have many takeouts but this was one of the best, ready on time, big portions, lovely food and still hot when we had finished.

Delicious food I had house special chow mein. I haven't had better than this and a very generous portion.

Unfortunately the order took nearly 2 hours to get here. The food was hot but quite bland, we weren’t particularly hungry after waiting so long. No apology for the wait.

Nice food, greeted as soon as you walk through the door.

Waited an hour, one of the main dishes was missing (only 5 items ordered) a couple of the dishes were really watery with not much flavour and waited for final item to be delivered 25 minutes later, whilst only 1 minute away.

This was amazing food from the Sweet and Sour King prawn Hong Kong style with the most amazing egg fried rice all the way to veg spring rolls and let's not forget the Tofu in szechuan sauce I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to try something new with awesome friendly staff and great service.

I normally don’t put negative reviews however in this case I have to due to wasting my money! Ordered tonight, will not be going back ever. Takeaway took 1hr 20mins to get here. 3 pots of food was £30. Took one mouthful and spat it out. Food was really bad, tried to get through on the phone to complain and no one was picking up. Really disappointed. Waste of money.

First and last meal from here. Quality not great, will be driving back to Magic Chef in Irchester next time!

One star review for a nice prawn pepper and salt. Had prawn red Thai, honey chicken, and prawn satay. The sauce in each dish was the same clear looking glupe but in a different colour and very bland tasting. Prawn balls and egg rice was as expected, Thai rice was not good. Must remember to never order a delivery from here again. Was not worth the money at all.

It used to be amazing but since changing hands, the food is not nice, think meat boiled in brown sauce, and if you have it deleivered it could be waiting hours.

Chicken chowmien good. Salt and pepper squid poor. Obviously pre cooked, batter ? hard and very dry.

I can’t say I’ve tried every Chinese in the country - but it’s usually salt and pepper (i.e chilli) chicken or squid or something.. Golden Palace do something different. And wow, is it good. You can have a milder dish if you don’t eat the chillies, if you like spice like I do then eating these chillies will see you right - usually at least birds eye temperature, absolutely fantastic. And the duck is so tasty, it’s breaded and it’s soft and moreish, not like a hard batter. I order 2-3 of these and nothing else every time.. as why order something that can’t be beaten? Golden Palace - thank you again you total hidden gem.

Had a wonderful takeaway from here on a Saturday night, ordered and paid for on line and it was ready for us to collect at the time we specified. All the dishes were very good and plentiful, piping hot and very tasty! Highly recommend!

Whenever we order take out we order from here - never had a bad meal, food is always hot and nice to eat. Service is good and rarely late. Good value for money also.

Literally the best Chinese restaurant in Northamptonshire

Probably the best Chinese takeout we've had in the area. Had the crispy chili chicken ordered extra spicy and for a change this place actually made it extra spicy! Most places don't seem to do anything different, or if they do the heat is imperceptible. Everything else was equally tasty and plentiful with the leftovers supplying a full extra dinner for two and a lunch besides.

Really good food and amazing value

Food was generally good, but the crispy shredded beef had far too much batter on it. There were no drinks avaliable when we ate there, so if you wanted anything other than tap water you had to get you own from the nearby shop.

A few days ago we had some unexpected guests arrive and decided to have a Chinese meal delivered to the house. I ordered by telephone and within 40 minutes the meal arrived. The quantity and quality of the food was excellent at a price that I consider was good value for money. A week on and our guests are still talking about the food. I do not believe you can get a better recommendation than that!!

We had curry which was a funny colour. Thai noodle very pale in colour, no chilli and bland flat noodle with boiled chicken. Chilli crispy beef very vinigery. Crispy chicken vinegary boiled rice OK chicken satay on sticks was quite nice. Best thing we had was the chicken satay nut wouldn't return

We normally use this as a takeaway as it lacks atmosphere and a lot of takeaway traffic rather spoils the ambience but it is their bread and butter( or rice!) Banquet is great value and the quantities very generous and frankly a bit too much food even for my hungry tribe, but you can take the rest home!

Room was cold when we first arrived, they'd not long been open, but waiter parked a heater next to us so all was fine Went for the offer banquet menu. Sharing starter was good usual suspects. Crispy duck. Good sized portion and very nice. Main course you get to choose two per person from a ling list. We had crispy chilli beef, S&S chicken HK style, stir fried mushrooms and Kung Po king prawns served with egg fried rice all for £15.80 each Sunday - Thursday. Couldn't fault it Very much enjoyed our meal 😊

We love the food here and an added bonus is that they deliver too. Food is lovely, generous portions, great value for money.

Local delivery, Chinese and Thai menu where the dishes actually taste different to each other, unlike most of the local Chinese restaurants where the generic 'brownish sauce' predominates. Every dish here has it's own character. An unexpected delight in the middle of rural Northants!

Lovely food... chicken is always good unlike alot of other places around here.. portions are generous and prices are good.. not sure why some might think its costly.. a curry with rice is £5.50 ... cant grumble at that :) staff are friendly too.. only had take aways so far but will try the restaurant very soon...

There were some doubts as to what would happen to this restaurant upon the recent (July 17) change of ownership/management but we have been 3 times since, and we are very happy with the standard of food and service now on offer. Yes, we have lost a few favourites off the menu, but the new dishes are great! The service is swift and considerate and every dish we and our friends have tried were fantastic. 2 friends visiting from another part of the country said it was the best they had tasted! Value for money is also very high. Just cannot fault it - 5 Stars all round.

Exterior looks a bit grubby, but don't let that put you off. Food and atmosphere both very good. Extensive menu. Attentive staff. Take away service also available.

Por desgracia nos cambiamos de casa así que este lugar no está a la vuelta de la esquina más el viaje de 20 millas worth porque algunos de la mejor comida china y tailandesa en cualquier parte northants. Tomó unos amigos que no habían estado antes y no podían creer que un lugar que parece un poco viejo fuera podría servir una comida fabulosa.

Siguiente comentarios de Tripadvisor nos fuimos al Golden Palace para llevar. No nos decepcionó! Pedimos la comida para dos. Ahora nuestro dolor estomacal!

Sólo lo he usado para llevar. Aunque se anuncia como un chino el propietario tiene un menú tailandés que ella prepara a la orden. Muy sabroso

Lugar podría hacer con una reforma para actualizar, pero siempre parece limpio y ordenado. Sólo usamos el servicio de comida para llevar tan lejos (no entrega! ), siempre rápido y comida caliente y delicioso.

Great restaurant and take away, now our favourite venue locally, they take card and the main lady has a wicked sense of humour - great food.. undiscovered great place with a good value range of tasty food.

This is the sort of restaurant that you walk past. It's exterior is a bit shabby and dated. The owner - a lady is very attentive with excellent service in her kitchen 'pinney' the food is lovely, hot delicious and very reasonably priced. The banquet is great.Interior needs updating, but the food and service more than make up it. Much better than the glitzy overpriced restaurants and poor quality food elsewhere. After all the food is what is really important..

We visited the Golden Palace on Friday night and all had the Mini Banquet. I think the name 'mini banquet' however is under selling the large amount of food we were actually given!The Banquet began with five different starters; the salt and pepper pork was my favourite by far.We were then presented with a generous portion of duck and pancakes, followed by two different main courses each with rice. As there was four of us we had a good range of dishes; I particularly enjoyed the Chinese Curry and mixed veg in black bean sauce. The restaurant itself wasn't busy, there was a steady stream of customers using the take away though, and the service we received from the waiting staff was very good. I will certainly be returning.

This restaurant is truly a hidden gem but definitely worth a try. The food was excellent with friendly, attentive service. We will definitely eat here again.

With myself and my partner, tonight we had a delicious meal in the restaurant. We had the buffet for two people and it was ample amount. It started with starters -a selection of 5 chosen from the chef next with aramatic duck pancakes , then finished with two dishes of main courses EACH with egg fried rice!!! As you can imagine we left feeling fit to burst but not just with food but enjoyment. The service was excellent and I could not fault it.I'll definitely have another experience in this restaurant. Thank you for helping us enjoy our weekend.

Local unassuming restaurant, eat in or takeaway. They have a good, extensive Chinese and Thai menu. Staff always very pleasant and helpful. Food delicious, have never had cause for complaint. excellent value for money and always a popular choice,

Never, ever, tire of this place. Gorgeous fresh flavours. Vegetarians should not feel restricted. And then there are the biggest, densest chicken balls.

Visited this premise and a recent visit to the UK with family. An unassuming exterior which could be easily overlooked.A small restaurant which was clean and the staff were very friendly and attentive,The menu was quite extensive and offers a range of Chinese and Thai meals at a very reasonable price. The food we selected was well cooked and well presented.The restaurant is licensed and the liquor is reasonably priced.Recommended

This is a small gem of a restaurant. The food is awesome. We go every week either to eat in or have a take away. To have such a fabulous small Chinese restaurant in a small town is great. The staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. If you are passing nearby and fancy Chinese then come and find the Golden Palace in Raunds. I hope the people of Raunds appreciate what they have on their door step.

We visited this restaurant the other day and we were not dissapointed. If you judged by the look of the outside you probably wouldn't go in and it's very inconspicuous. That said, we were warmly welcomed on entering. The service throughout the meal was excellent and the staff friendly and attentive.There was a wide selection of Chinese and Thai food offered on the menu. I recommend the Nasi Gooreng and the Mee Goreng. We couldn't fault any of the dishes that we chose. Our father occasionally works in Singapore and was delighted to find the food we ate was very similar to what he eats when he is away.We were told the chef had many years experience and this was apparent in both the dishes offered on the menu with a fusion of cultures and their great depth of flavour. It left us all wanting more had we been able to fit it in!I am now looking for an excuse to go back to this restaurant! They also have a takeaway menu which is very competitively priced.
