Tried The golden Mill as we have a lodge on a nearby caravan park, What more can I say................Absolutely blown away with the quality of the food from this family run restaurant. We Called in, Placed our order and waited, The order phone was ringing none stop, The que for food was out the door. We had to wait 20 mins for our food, was it worth the wait, OMG yes. Best chinese we have had in 3 years. We have been twice now and its been amazing every time. Please be prepared to wait for your order as everything is cooked fresh. They do not do delivery, otherwise they would need 5 delivery drivers !!!. Call in the Bell hotel for a beer while you wait, The family spend all afternoon preparing the food so you know its fresh. Don't rely on my words, Go and try it out!!(but not too often as we will have to wait 25 mins LOL)

We were on holiday and literally staying across the road . The sweet and sour Cantonese style is up there with the best I've ever had lovely fresh pineapple, tomato , pepper . We liked it so much we went there 3 times and didn't find it anymore expensive than any other Chinese and the service was fine and fast

Has to be one of the worst Chinese I've ever had in my life Mixed auderves - over cooked chicken skewers , over cooked spring rolls , over cooked ribs , burnt prawn toast , special fried rice only thing special about it is price special over prices and under flavored, ordered Cantonese style chicken balls got normal chicken balls , BBQ ribs with no meat on them , and finally salt and chilli chips all they we got was chips will chilli powder on (no pepper or onion or garlic or chilli) made a mistake going here won't make it again

Stayed in skegness recently with friends for a birthday, after being very hungover from the birthday bash we decided to collect a chinese to take back to the caravan. This place was recommended. This was probably one of the best chicken curries ive every tasted, with an extra kick of spice to it. Yum. Chips ok a little cold, friends loved the chow mein and prawn toast. Recommended!

After reading the reviews we decided to have a Saturday night takeaway. We rang to order at 5pm but the phone line was constantly engaged so we popped down to order. 20 min wait so we ordered and had a quick drink in nearby pub and said we’d collect our food at 6pm When we got back the food wasn’t hot. We had to reheat which isn’t ideal. So it must have been stood a while before we collected it. Having said that, the food was very tasty and we enjoyed it. I would say the portion sizes are quite small so we would probably order an extra dish next time ( family of 4 ) The chilli shredded beef was my favourite and hubby said BBQ spare ribs were lovely. We will definitely order again.

Visited the area for the weekend and found this takeaway. The food was really good and we all enjoyed it. Even at peak times on the Saturday, order only to 20 mins. Only little negative point is that the line was always engaged - however that could mean a good thing! Will order from here if we come back to Skegness.

Food is good from here. Shame about the rubbish service asked for different chips on the phone to one I got and no sorry or way of fixing issue. Also no prawn crackers when we paid £20 for the food. Also no sorry for being AN HOUR AND 10 MINUTES when we were told 50 on the phone. Already a long time to wait at 8 at night to then be even later than expected with no apology.

Our local Chinese, very good prices fair and the flavours and meat quality's very good. We are from Essex so used to having a good choice of Restaurants to compare to. One of the best.

A very busy Chinese Takeaway offering a good selection of food. We'll cooked and tastey. Be aware only cash is accepted and they are closed Tuesday.

Impressed with how the menu clearly displays items for people with allergies. Did not eat here in the end as all food is cooked together which defeats the object of highlighting the allergen items due to cross contamination. Not worth the risk of being made very poorly for days.

Ordered a collection whilst on holiday in the area. Second attempt as on our first try we found out they only take cash so had to go elsewhere. Told collection would be 15 mins, on arrival food piping hot. Had a selection of roast duck and pork, salt and pepper chicken, orange chicken, singapore noodles and special fried rice. All dishes were lovely apart from the rice - alongside the usual shrimp, chicken and roast pork there was bacon which wasn't cooked properly. Overall not bad - however bit pricey compared to other choices 5 mins down the road in Skegness.

the food from here was hot, fresh and tasty. I would recommend ordering in advance as they were extremely busy.

We struggle to enjoy any other than our usual in Sheffield but can honestly say we've found better here. This was absolutely delicious!

I try to support local businesses when I can and I usually go to Burgh for a Chinese. I ordered at 5:40pm.. told would be an hour and ten minutes wait. Fair enough! It’s a Saturday night! I got there.. there was 14 people... 14 people sat inside... albeit they were wearing masks but come on... there was NO system whatsoever, no organisation or safe system in place for customers waiting and I could see no sign on the door where it said only so many customers in at one time! Maybe there was one but either way - no one was listening to it. Maybe try not taking so many orders where customers then all pile in. I chose to wait outside. Food wasn’t all that great tonight. Usually is!

Tried this chinese as our regular one had closed. Glad we did...slightly more expensive (£30 for 2 of us, 3 starters, 2 rice 2 chow meins)but will happily use again. Lovely thick gravy, crunchy spring rolls, could use a little more chicken in the chow mein. Very busy for 5.15pm, must have seen 8 customers with orders. That speaks for itself. Very clean. Cash only.

We have been staying in Burgh le Marsh and opted for a take out. Chose this take away. Food was delicious, not claggy with Ghee as it can be sometimes from a Chinese takeaway. Dishes were packed with meat and veg. Would recommend.

Not recommended sweet and sour chicken Cantonese.absolute rubbish meal,the chicken wasn't edible it was hard, burnt,and not one piece was chewable it looked disgusting when you broke it up.never again

We had to visit here on Saturday as my local was too busy to take orders. Felt it was a little over priced for what you get in comparison. £6-7 more than my local within Skegness for the same order.Gave them an hour for the collection and order still wasn't ready when arrived and had to wait a further 15 minutes, despite her saying it would be 40 minutes maximum. We spent £21 and didn't get prawn crackers and the chow mein was just over half full and tasted full of pepper. Woman behind the counter was nice taking our order. I would return here, but it wouldn't be my go-to Chinese. If you can visit Skegness, there are some better and cheaper ones. Still however, not a bad Chinese for the more locals to burgh le marsh.

No other choice of eating venue in village and our hotel, next door, allowed us to bring in a take away. It was great and really good value.

It's been a while since I had a take away from here. So had to rectify that.A basic sweet n sour pork balls with egg fried rice.Decent quality. Fair portion size.The lady taking the orders was pleasant and helpful.It's cash only at this take away.Nothing negative to say about this place.Nothing to write home about either.Would recommend and certainly use again.

The food is always good here, well worth a visit. I have used it for well over 30 years now and recommend it as the goto Chinese in the area.

We have been coming to the Golden Mill for a few years now so have tried a variety of dishes, we now seem to keep going back for our favs, we order over the phone then pop over to collect when they say it will be ready not usually any more than 10-15 mins, if we have a specific request this has always been spot on, like no onions for hubby or no baby corn for me, delicious, hot and great helpings all at a good price.

Have had several orders from this restaurant. Excellent choice, food always well cooked. Chips are very good as well. Can thoroughly recommend.

Having always enjoyed the food I can’t say how disappointed I was that despite saying very clearly we wanted no meat and fish and asking for no egg in the fried rice our first order was totally wrong including a meat dish and the replacement vermicelli noodles still had chicken in didn’t do the 10 min drive again just threw in the bin. Never use again

If you want good quality Chinese food at good prices then this is a good place to try. Always tastes good and the service is great

This is our local Chinese takeaway when at the lodge, food is plentiful, service hit and miss. I always call and order ahead of time but somehow was sat waiting well over an hour, my order was 'missed'. However food is always hot and tasty so thats all that matters really.

I have collected a telephone order on several occasions to give benefit of doubt.Issues experienced: meals are often different to most Chinese takeaway restaurants i.e. you order your favourite and you get something different! For instance, I have ordered deep fried shredded beef in the past and found that the meal was mostly sliced carrots (sliced in the same way you would have them with a roast dinner). On another occasion I ordered sweet and sour pork to find that there was no sweetness to it and it might as well have been pork pickled in vinegar - I know this not to be their 'take' on the recipe as my partner's sweet and sour chicken tasted fine.When I have had an edible meal from this shop it's been mediocre and disappointing at best. However, I do like the fact that they peel the cucumber served with their aromatic duck but as you can appreciate this is hardly makes up for the failings.Objectively, the menu is reasonably priced and offers a wide range of dishes (if you dare to try), the restaurant is near a free parking area in the town centre and is easy to find. Payment is by cash only which is a thorough nuisance if you forget as the nearest cash machine is a 500 yard walk down the road.The staff (though I don't recall seeing the same person twice) are fairly friendly and polite, meals are usually prepared to an agreed timescale and are reasonably hot when delivered to the counter. Neither my partner nor myself have been ill from eating from this shop so believe the food is reasonably safe to eat.The public areas of the shop appear reasonably clean and there is a fascinating display of money tree plants which are some of the biggest I've personally come across.

Having visited previously (very satisfied) we thought we would give it a try again.The food was fabulous, hot and plentiful, as we live in another village we placed our order by phone and were advised it would be ready in 20 minutes (which was handy as that is how far away we live). I particularly recommend the chicken and duck curry with a side order of onions and gravy. The service was excellent, there are car parking facilities nearby but they only take cash.

We ate food from here twice and it was very good would recommend this if staying in the village it is next door the The Bell Inn

Excellent food only downside is on a Saturday they are so busy be prepared to wait or try and phone order through but still difficult on a Saturday as so busy but well worth the wait

Great food and friendly service. The food was cooked quickly and the portions generous, you couldn't ask for more from a takeaway.

After waiting over an hour after the stated time of our telephone order we took our food home to find the trays half full and not enough food for everyone.

Normally alright but 1hr 45 and still waiting and still taking orders saying they food will be ready in 25mins absolute joke 15 people waiting in shop and everyone is very p**sed off!!!

By far the best Chinese i know, honestly beautiful food. And not even a long wait to get your meal either.

I have ordered from this Chinese for years now and always been impressed with the service and food. However today, I was very disappointed. Order the same thing every time and comes to £18, today they nearly charged me £25, we then left after that had been sorted and had to go back as some of our order was incorrect. Very poor service today and it may be down to new workers‍♀️

Never witnessed such poor service in all my life. Ordered 7 dishes and when we got home only 2 were correct! Took the 5 dishes back (salt n pepper chips were that spicy my mouth was burning for over an hour after having one) and asked for a refund as not one family member had a full meal that they ordered. The girl behind the counter was lovely but went to talk to the boss and he came out from the back and was verbally rude and shouting at me! The two dishes that were correct, were edible but not the best. I would never go back here again!

Why would I be willing to take a 10 mile round trip to buy a Chinese Takeaway when I have three within a mile. Been eating there for 20 plus years and in all that time I only had one dish which was too salty. The food is excellent I would recommend it without hesitation.

Grabbed a takeaway from here once but unlikely to return. Firstly I found them pricey and they don’t take card payment which is an inconvenience.

Ordered two Singapore Chow Mein with Chips. It was so spicy it burnt our lips(menu said slightly hot and spicy) took the meal back the lady behind the counter said order something else so ordered two Chinese chicken curry’s. When she brought out the meals there were no new chips or rice when l pointed out the original chips were now cold she just said that’s it, no body else would come to speak to me.

People have raved on about this take away to me for years. Thought I would try it for the first time today. Not much more I can say really.

This is our local chinese take-away and we have been known to have two in one week. It never varies it is always superb. The quality is tops. Customers come from many places just to have food from this take-away. Love it.

Had a take out with the family. Ordered in the take away - it's worth noting they don't take card. The wait was good considering how busy they were and it was a Saturday. There is a large variety of choices and my boyfriend loved the salt and chilli chicken. However not sure if the food was waiting for ages before it came out to us as it was luke warm by the time we got home (a couple of minutes away) and some of my mushrooms in the chow main were cold. Would give it another chance thougu as so many of my friends love this place.

We have given this establishment a couple more opportunities. I am completely confused as to how people can rate this cash-only takeaway so highly. The food here is, in our humble opinion, particularly poor and lacking in any generosity when looking at, for example, chicken chop suey or special fried rice. There is very little meat in anything.

So coming into the new year I thought I’d have one last Chinese before welcoming 2018, so I decide to change from my usual (little china) and try the golden mill. Long story short I wasn’t physically able to attend the celebrations with my friends as I was already occupied in vomiting up my insides. The food was absolutely atrocious and was the worst I’ve eaten this year!!!! It was luke warm in temperature and the prawns tasted like rubber, the rice was like cardboard and my prawn crackers where rock solid!!!

This Chinese is the best in the area we used to get takeaway from here all the time even used to go here when I was in my teens over ten years ago when we lived in burgh now we have moved to skegness I cannot get there anymore really wish they would start delivering as it would be the only place we would use.

Stayed up the road from this Chinese and had take-away no complaints about the food tried numerous dishes and cant complain. The Salt&Chili; Ribs are lovely. There open till quite late which is handy if you fancy picking it up after a few pints in the Village. I wouldn't say its to expensive but i think this very much depends on where about you live yourself as in Liverpool this is around about Average price.

The Chinese at Burgh never disappoints , had a takeaway on a few occasions , the food is very tasty and very reasonable prices . Plenty of dishes on the menu . We normally order our food , then pop next door to the Bell for a drink . The Chinese always seems very busy .

Like others, we agree that this Chinese takeaway is very popular, particularly at weekends. There is nothing, whatsoever, wrong with the food it is just that, for us, the chicken batter was too thick, the SS sauce too bitter, the ribs too fatty. However they remain personal observations and we would try other dishes.

Went here last Friday night after a long drive from Milton Keynes the food was wonderful, just the right portion sizes , good quality and the prices were very reasonable can not fault this place.

Good food ... Very tasty, and has built up an large clientele from an extensive catchment area best to phone an order at weekends. Enjoy !

This used to be the best Chinese in Skegness but it has recently changed owners and although the food is still reasonable it is not as good as it used to be

We were staying locally and the food was so good we had takeaway from the Golden Mill two nights in succession. The food was delicious plentiful and very reasonably priced. The meat in all our meals was tender and not at all chewy which can be a problem with some Chinese takeaways. Thank you for two very enjoyable meals.

Very good food with very good front of house .... back-room can be a bit scatty so always check your order. Food is always good and can be exceptionally good ... but always check you have got what you ordered ...

Having moved into the village recently we tried the restaurant after reading rave reviews. The food I normally have was not on the menu so I ended up having the Special Chop Suey well there as nothing special about it. It tasted like Chinese vegetables, meats and prawns in gravy. It was very disappointing. My husband had the king prawn curry and egg fried rice, it was ok, again nothing special.

We have used the Golden Mill on a few occasions during 2016 and always had good service with lovely food and always hot, we have never waited more than 15 minutes for our order to be ready either.

The Best chinese take away I have had. Singapore vermicelli the best ever. Cannot recommend this take out highly enough.

We have had two previous takeaways which were OK.The last meals weren't our order, but we were 20 mins drive away and couldn't return them the food was not good. Chips were awful , chicken ball not cooked, raw in inside, batter was not crisp, ribs were dried out, not sure what they were supposed to be, no flavour, I am afraid the rest went into the bin untouched. Felt unwell all the next day. Would not recommend .

Always have golden mill when we're down in burgh le marsh beautiful food and we'll priced sometimes even have it twice in a weekend. Fantastic food at great prices and brilliant service

Always ring and order, ready in 10 minutes. They do a great chicken curry and chow mein. Food quality excellent and service great. Best around here up to now.

We have been coming to The Golden Mill Chinese Takeaway in Burgh for over 25 years, and can honestly say, we have never had a bad meal! We eat there once a month, the food is reasonably priced, always piping hot and freshly made to order, the staff are always welcoming and extremely efficient, and the place is always clean and warm in the winter. Well done Golden Mill chefs and staff, heres to the next 25 years!

Went there Thursday evening just as they were opening.I ordered egg fried rice,chips, beef curry,sweet and sour chicken balls and prawn toast.got home and began to put it on plates only to find I had egg fried rice.2 portions of chips,beef curry,sweet and sour SA UCE no chicken balls and 2 spring rolls no prawn toast so I returned it all except 1 portion of chips and the egg fried rice as they were already on the plates.don't think they really believed me as staff from the back were coming and looking at me through the window in the door.they did swap the rolls for the prawn toast and swapped the chips for chicken balls.but I was made to feel very uncomfortable.l hope the people whose meal was brought out at the same time as mine returned theirs as it was obvious that they had mixed the 2 orders up.to be honest it was quite good even though by this time the chips and rice had to be microwaved ,but value for money definitely not.cost for my original order £17.65.

We have lived in this village for over 25 years and always used this takeaway on a regular basis. Sometimes it has not been as good as other but never had such a bad experience at this last one!We ordered Kim Do Spare Ribs, Chips, Pancake Roll (there are 2) and Crispy Duck Pancakes.The ribs were OK but not hot at all so I didn't eat more than a mouthful as the fat was congealing.The chips were overcooked and too hard to eatThe Pancack Rolls were also not hot (and these usually burn your mouth) and were very greasyThe worst of all though was the Crispy Duck with Pancakes. The pancakes, onions and cucumber were the same as ever. The sauce was clap cold and it is usually slightly warm. THE DUCK was actually almost non existent! There were NO pieces of duck it was ALL just like shavings of mostly skin with bits of duck. When I say shavings I mean not even as big as cheese when grated! Little bits of "stuff" that was also cold.You might wonder why we did not complain? Well by the time we realised what the meal was like we had had enough and certainly did not feel like going back out again on such a wet and wild night.If I had thought about it I would have taken a photo of the whole thing (especially the duck) but we are not used to snapping everything in sight like most young people and just did not think about it.Over 25 years we have used this takeaway over and over but the food has got worse of late and this I am afraid was the last straw!Thankfully we are getting a pizza takeaway in our village soon so we won't miss the Chinese!Oh and if you are interested the meal cost us over £17 and most of it was inedible, thank goodness we had a good bottle of wine to drink!!

Been using the golden mill for years and still go even though I don't live in the immediate area anymore, can always guarantee decent prices, good food and good service can't say anymore than that really

I chose chicken curry extra onions in fabulous 'gravy'. The family had chicken Maryland, duck curry "You couldn't dip your fork in without finding duck" and special mixed chow mein and prawn toast (gorgeous). They only take cash but there are cash points in the village and they start cooking your food while you find the cash. My only issue (it's a personal one) I prefer my prawn crackers 'see-through' rather than thick.It is worth the effort to go to the village of Burgh-le-Marsh.

We have recently started to have a takeaway from here as a change from our local one. It has been consistently good. It is not greasy at all and the beef curry especially good.The lady who takes the order is efficient and friendly and the food always been ready on time.

An excellent take away meal, very generous portions well cooked and well presented. Would benefit from a delivery service.

We always use this Chinese.Everything we order is always spot on and red hot.Only downside is they don't deliver, but they get so busy I guess they don't need to As like us everyone travels go here.Delicious food and staff always polite and friendly.We Highly recommend to everyone.

We visited this takeaway in August 2014. Although the food was ok other than the chips " like many Chinese takeaways". The waiting time on my one and only visit was very long About 20 minutes to half an hour. One poor guy was there for one hour. I would have walked out by then after first getting my money back. "They took the money when you ordered." The take away was full on the night I visited. Maybe the service on the night was a one off, but I have to review on my experience.
