¡No le daría a este lugar ni una clasificación de 1 estrella! Llegó antes de Navidad fue impactante la comida fue más de una hora tarde, luego dijeron que se habían quedado sin ciertas verduras y carnes, eran las 4 pm! Le di otra oportunidad hoy comida reservada para 5. 30 para un asado dominical, una y otra hora más tarde antes de que llegara la comida y otra vez era la misma comida de mierda que teníamos antes de Navidad otra vez no la verdura y la carne correctas oh y otra vez aparentemente habían estado ocupados así que se acabaron. y usando alimentos que habían estado allí desde el período de Navidad! ¡Qué broma se ha convertido este lugar! Le pregunté a uno de los empleados dónde estaba el brócoli, su respuesta fue "¡No sé, no lo logro! El personal y el pesebre son groseros. El León de Oro solía ser un lugar encantador para comer y relajarse. También había otros clientes alrededor en otras mesas que estaban descontentos con la comida y el servicio! ¡Este lugar necesita nuevo personal y ciertamente nueva administración! ¡Un lugar horrible! ¡Evita!

La comida era razonable, pero tardó mucho en llegar. Pub estaba sufriendo problemas con las entradas, así que entiendo que esto podría haber afectado al servicio

Desde el principio, las cosas no fueron bien. Al llegar, descubrimos que había un menú limitado, algo de lo que no nos informaron hasta que llegamos al bar. Desafortunadamente, el plato que quería pedir no estaba disponible, así que tuve que elegir otra cosa. Después de hacer nuestro pedido, esperamos más de 45 minutos para que llegara nuestra comida sin explicación por el retraso. Cuando la comida finalmente llegó, fue extremadamente abrumador. Mi plato de pollo era soso, y la salsa era tan delgada que era prácticamente como agua. El pollo en sí estaba gomoso y mal cocinado, por lo que la comida fue muy decepcionante. Para empeorar las cosas, el servicio era inconsistente. Nadie nos preguntó cómo estaba nuestra comida o comprobar si todo estaba bien, pero nos dimos cuenta de que la mesa de al lado tenía varios miembros del personal comprobando su experiencia. Esto fue especialmente frustrante ya que esa mesa tenía quejas sobre su orden, lo que se sumó al ambiente caótico. En general, la experiencia fue decepcionante. La comida estaba por debajo de lo normal, el servicio era desatenta, y la falta de comunicación sobre el menú o retrasos era inaceptable. Yo no recomendaría.

Nuestro grupo reservó nuestro evento de Navidad aquí después de haber sido muchas veces para el almuerzo. La nueva decoración es preciosa. A la llegada una mesa de Navidad muy bien vestido nos recibió, pero luego tuvimos una espera muy larga para nuestra comida. La casera finalmente se disculpó, una larga espera podría haber sido excusable si la comida hubiera sido buena. Los entrantes fueron bien aceptados y bastante agradable, pero el plato principal fue muy decepcionante. Las papas asadas masticables, los Yorkshires quemados (¿por qué demonios se sirve Yorkshires con pavo que van con carne asada) y no estoy convencido de que el pavo era pavo asado apropiado. La comida principal daba la impresión de ser una gran cantidad de alimentos de conveniencia calentados. Realmente no fue tan agradable. El pastel de queso estaba bien. Volvería a comer porque hemos comido allí antes, pero no volvería a reservar un evento de Navidad allí de nuevo.

Tenía que ser la mejor comida de pub de la zona, el pub en sí había sido decorado recientemente y se ve bien. La comida tiene un precio razonable svd siempre buena calidad

Sunday lunch was not great ! Tasteless and majority of it tasted like basic frozen food . Not impressed! I definitely wouldn’t recommend it … Won’t eat there again to be honest !

Was waiting at the bar for 15 minutes for the land lady to be rude and abusive towards us we left without ordering any food do not recommend

Aparecimos para almorzar en la comida del domingo. A pesar de estar lleno, encontramos una mesa para los cinco. Ordenados en el bar, lasaña, salmón, hígado, carne asada y descuidadas Joey burger ordenados. Todos sirvieron en 15 minutos y estamos todos muy sabrosos. La comida era excelente y muy buena relación calidad-precio. Pub agradable y bien merece una visita para una comida informal.

Good value for money! Excellent service! Barman was great! Excellent food for the price! They were good with my son's allergies and double checked everything with the kitchen. Very impressed!

Nos invitaron a venir aquí por mi cuñado, y en primer lugar las leyes cumpleaños estaba un poco nerviosa porque me elegiría un pub para una comida de cumpleaños. Yo, la mujer y nuestra hija fueron los primeros en llegar y encontré la decoración encantadora y amable, pedimos bebidas y esperamos por el resto para llegar. Había 10 de nosotros en total, pero no fue problema para el personal del bar y el personal de cocina (chef). La comida era precioso, todo el mundo de nuestro grupo comentado cómo ahí comidas eran. De hecho, todos tuvimos una prueba de todo el mundo. En cuanto al precio, es una buena relación calidad-precio, cada niño come £1 con un adulto, pero no el tamaño de las porciones y sabor es afectado como atención a la cocina.

Visitamos aquí en muchas ocasiones. La comida siempre es muy buena y bien preparada.

No value for money and poor service. Eat here and ordered steak and ale pie got some meat with a round bit of pastry thrown on top child portions with adult prices

Popped in and not been for years. All I can say excellent sevice and reasonably priced. Good portions and well Cooked. Will come back again and recommend it.

He estado comiendo aquí con bastante regularidad en los últimos meses y estoy impresionada con algunos de los comentarios aquí. El lugar está limpio y muy bien dirigido y más allá una gran relación calidad-precio! La comida es excepcionalmente bien cocinadas y bien de precio comparado con otras opciones locales y el personal siempre dispuesto a ayudar. Recomiendo encarecidamente el bistec y las hamburguesas son aquí la mejor hamburguesa pub en la ciudad. Puede ponerse muy concurrido como su único pequeño, así que es mejor reservar con antelación, si puedes. Me he dado cuenta de que no tienes ningún problema en aquí a diferencia de otras ofertas locales y el propietario aunque estricta va ajustado el barco que permite no tener que batallar de idiotas potencial estos pubs locales tienden a atraer. Gran ambiente y comida incluso mejor, lo recomiendo!

Hemos ido a este pub durante bastante tiempo ahora para el té. Pub sirve comida clásica, pero en un alto nivel. El personal es amable y está a un precio razonable. El pub es la familia. Tienen un juego de niños y adultos máquina agarre fruta así que puede mantenerse ocupado mientras espera por la comida o simplemente para jugar en. En general, este es un muy buen pub y volveremos de nuevo.

Recently visited for a great lunch, was surprised it was so busy on a Tuesday and we only just got a table. Had a BLT and a pint and was great value.

Habíamos cogido nuestra hija de 14 meses a Marina para ver los patos de Clifton y como empezó a llover decidimos ir a almorzar temprano. No ha sido aquí literalmente 20 años (era de unos 11 años la última vez- recuerdo conseguir una bolsa de regalos con mi Charlie chalk comida niños jajaja) así que decidimos probarlo. Entramos a un pub encantador reformado y fue recibido por una amable señora hizo una broma que necesitábamos una mesa para 2 personas y una media jajaja ella buscaron una silla alta para nosotros y nos sentamos en una mesa con un amplio espacio para ello. Pedimos el 2 del 2 hamburguesas con queso tocino por £10 menú y ofertas como con cualquier comida que no esperes mucho (se obtiene lo que se paga tipo de cosa), pero yo y mi marido era muy sorprendido! Preciosa la hamburguesa hamburguesas altas en sí estaba húmeda y bien preparado el tocino bien cocinada y los bollos de brioche ligeramente tostado. Las patatas fritas eran muchísimo calor - fresco de la freidora y el aspecto y sabor casero de col (no estoy seguro de si fue) pero era muy sabrosa y cremosa!! No registramos espalda comida inteligente pero nos disfrutes de ellos así que no tengo quejas! No pude terminar la mía como la hamburguesa era bastante grande, así que mi marido acabó teniendo el resto así que él era feliz! En general muy agradable y dispuesto a decir que volveremos en el futuro!

Estado aquí un par de veces y ha sido diferente cada vez que he estado, y la comida era realmente agradable y he estado y ha sido por debajo de la media... la más reciente fue sin embargo agradable me pidió la carne blade con puré y la salsa. No estaba mal, pero la salsa de anís en que tenía era muy fuerte. En el menú no hay ninguna mención de anís si había yo no he pedido. Yo no puedo decir nada sólo comimos. Volveré porque siento que la comida y la presentación es mejor que la de Robin Hood, sólo me gustaría que era más coherente.

Felt very welcome, shown to table my a member od staff, ordered drinks and food staff very nice and polite, for was divine nice and clean resturant and very polite staff v will definitely beck .Thank you for a wonderful meal

Visited recently for a nice lunch with work colleagues. The lady behind the bar looked after us and after a few recommendations from the menu we were served with a lovely lunch, great value and would visit again.

Went in for food but told but told we was too late (advertised till 9) had a drink. Was alright but was starving so went Robin Hood (decent )

Mi marido y yo llevamos a mis padres para una cena de cumpleaños de mi madre. El diseño y la decoración de la habitación estaba bien, porque había renovadas el año pasado. Fuimos aquí ya que mis padres disfrutaron de la comida que tuvimos allí el año pasado. Esta vez el servicio era pobre, aunque un miembro del personal (posiblemente nueva) era muy amable y servicial. Después de 10/15 minutos tuve que pedir la bebida caliente de mi esposo y después se olvidaron el plato de mi madre! Tuvimos que pedir esto también. Tuve el paté con pan es fácil ( la principal razón por la que optamos por este ) llegó con tostadas, lo que era sólo pan tostado a un lado!! Los platos principales estaban bien, pero no es genial. Los platos sucios se podía sentir carpa en ellos y nos llena de huellas grasientas. Lo único bueno de la noche fue que mis padres no reconocer los achaques y no disfrutar de sus comidas. Mientras estábamos terminando nuestras bebidas otro cliente pregunté por sus cafés que había ordenado sólo para que le dijeran que no sabía y les ordenaron que la máquina apagaban! La camarera no obstante ir y hacer sus cafés. En general, no fue una buena experiencia y nosotros no vamos a volver allí en absoluto!

Visited the Golden Lion at 7.30pm for dinner with my wife on a Saturday night, last orders is 9pm. Didn't book and when we got there was greeted by several empty tables so we were pleased. Unfortunately the restaurant manager lady said they had a big table due in later and the kitchen was too busy preparing so wouldn't serve us!Make up your own mind.

I came in with my partner today, we ordered two steaks and two peppercorn sauce, the sauce that came with our meal wasn't peppercorn. It was really lumpy and didn't taste nice, it tasted like mushrooms. We told two members of staff about it and then the manager came over and said it is peppercorn sauce.I then said this isn't peppercorn sauce it doesn't taste nice. The manager then said 'well no one else has complained about it'.She was EXTREMELY RUDE and seemed like she didn't care about what we were saying!She didn't try making the situation any better. We then left without touching our meals. We will definitely not be going back there again.

Visited here last night after a friend had recommended the brilliant food. I have driven past here many times and never thought to stop in. There is a lot of choice in the menu and the food is well cooked and has flavour unlike a lot of the pub food you get where it clearly has come out of a microwave. I had a triple decker burger and it was amazing and wasn't at all dry. The pub has a nice atmosphere too and has offers on during the week as well as wine. The only downside is that the staff aren't very attentive although when the waiter did come to our table he was very professional and friendly.I would definitely recommend this pub and the food and will be going again. You definitely get value for money and is better than sitting in the Robin Hood with the poor food and staff.

The food is very good and very tasty the place is lovely even if you just want a drink. Food well cooked

Been here twice in recent weeks and have to say the quality of the food for the price is excellent. I had the cheese pie which you can tel is home made and is a huge portion, that big that I could not finish it and all for under £7. If you go on a Monday its 2 for 1 on main meals too. Service is excellent too, highly recommended

Family birthday meal which was excellent value for money. All meals were fresh and hot. The bar staff were superb and couldn't do enough to make the meal outstanding we will definitely be returning very soon.

The landlord is the most delusional person I have ever meet,and the waiter with beard If you discuss with him he try to fight with you Absolute arrogant you will waste you money, doesnt treat customer with respect, they have cleared a table with some food on and customers were outside for a smoke when came back someone else was sat instead and refund the money my meal was not as I asked however I told her and reply sorry we are busy ...so I said I will eat but i dont like to wait another hour , didn't even offer to change so we finish a waiter came and ask if food was OK I said well after I was awaiting for food 1 hr my steak was overcooked he just replied but you eaten I said yes I was starving. ...he just went with bad face and arrogant attitude and accused me to be rude ....Please if you not happy of your food don't eat and change place ..... There are many places nearby it's shame it was a good pub with good food

Takne my grandson there times for he loves the burgers.and a good excuse for me to have them also.It has nice atmosphere, attentive staff, and good food

The landlord is the most delusional person I have ever come across, accused a friend of 'mithering' her son, for one she wasnt even speaking to him and for two he looked more like a girl than her. She also spent the majority of the evening strolling around telling customers that she had no bra on. Absolute waste of money, do not go to the golden lion unless you like having arguments and perhaps brawls with highly obnoxious women. She is an awful land lady and talks to her staff members as if they're her minions. Needs to treat others with respect, but mostly herself. Such a horrible excuse of a human being. Please go to the Robin Hood two minutes down the road, such a better atmosphere!Ps. Also the lights were turned off at one point in the evening so she decided to start hitting them with a broom rather than flick the switch, only in the golden lion.

We frequent the Golden Lion a couple of times each month.Service is always with a smile and all the food and drink is of a good quality and very consistent. For me it's ten out of ten in terms of value for money. You don't expect a lot from this kind of franchise but we are always pleasantly surprised. Well done the Golden Lion.

Today we visited the golden lion as a family get together for 16 of us as it was a Sunday we rang to make sure they could meet this demand they reassured us on the phone this would be okay. Upon arrival we were all squished in this was not suitable as we h ad a baby and an elderly lady with us. Food was poor. Service was terrible would not recommend. Very understaffed.

Not impressed one bit with the golden lion and the staff can be very rude they seem to have a lot of younger staff and the food is expensive forwhat you get that's if they have what you want off the menu they seem to be doing the pub up at the moment as there were decorators outside working

Lovely little pub that's nice and clean. The food is good, we visited on Sunday and had the roast which was included in the two courses for £9.75 which is very good value. I had the beef and my partner had Turkey and couldn't fault it.The staff seemed short handed with nobody seating you and only one person at the bar. Having said that, they were all polite and really helpful.

Came last sunday to the lion, fab food, great staff will be back keep up the good work and a big thank you to all the staff.

I visited this pub/restaurant for a meal with a friend we both had potato skins for starters. I had Italian lasagne and she had rump steakWe attended about 5pm on a Wednesday and there were two other tables occupiedThe lady who attended to us was very helpfulThe food arrived within a reasonable time and was plentiful. Steak was cooked as ordered and both plates were presented well. The lasagne was high in pasta and low on beef but was still enjoyable. I have tasted better to be honest.It was my first time in a Holts pub so therefore did not know what to expect. But a pleasant experience all round

..but been there twice on Saturdays - once before xmas (& around 10 days before Xmas & no decorations) and again last week - and we won't be going there again. Both times, as soon as we left at around 22.30 the doors were locked as we were the last to leave. They seem to exist on the diners with their 2 for the price of 1 offers.

We went here today as a girls lunch from work. We prebooked our food so it would be ready for when we got there as we were limited to time. Upon arrival the bar staff was rude while we were ordering drinks. We were asked which one of us was paying the bill as she'd already printed the receipt. We advised we wanted to pay separately but were told we couldn't because the bill had been done now. So I paid using my card to save any further problems. The food arrived and we all tucked in, whilst eating my chicken BLT I noticed a fly in the lettuce so removed it from the sandwich and continued to eat thinking one fly in the lettuce was nothing. I then noticed another fly and what I thought was seasoning was actually small flies. I took the food to the bar and advised her that there were flies all over the lettuce it looked like it hadn't been cleaned before being used, her response was we get the lettuce supplied to us chopped and washed. She offered another meal to which I declined, as she was getting my refund from the till she said to me I can't see any flies on anything - as she was saying this I was watching a live fly walk over the coleslaw I had just been eating! Don't think we will be eating here again I know sometimes bugs are in salad but her attitude throughout or visit was horrendous!

went there this evening was greeted with a nice waitress who took our order and would change it to suit our needs. Unfortunately however the food that was served was not up to scratch. We had a starter each which was ok. But the main courses were no where near what we expected. Would not go to eat here again.
