This place is very good value for money, shame the wee-man behind the bar serving has as much spark as a wet box of matches.

Came here as last-minute dinner choice on the recommendation of friends. The food was not only excellent, but also very well priced (very budget-friendly for those worried about cost). Staff were welcoming and helpful too

Just had hunters chicken cooked by Tom it was with out doubt the best hunters chicken I have ever tasted that man’s food is just delicious what a great chef!!

We came for burger Wednesday £5 for a burger with 3 toppings chips n onion rings we were a table of 8 and we all had different burgers and everyone loved every mouthful all came out together..lovely friendly atmosphere..very clean pub plenty of outside space for the children to run around we will definitely be back next week

Good food well cooked and lot of if it, nice watch the rugby, staff helpful and pleasant it was nice just relaxing not being distracted

A friend chose here for lunch yesterday which having been 3 times before and getting great food I was thinking this is going to be the time its a let down as nowhere seems to have any consistency. How wrong was I? As usual we were greeted by friendly staff, a clean welcoming atmosphere, and a decent menu. Choosing the wednesday deal of Build a burger for a fiver again I wasnt expecting much, but again pleasantly surprised. Burger with 3 toppings plus fries and onion rings - Whats not to like? decent burger, cheese, halloumi fries and chicken strips made it the best fiver I have spent in a long time. Cant wait to g back again

Stopped in here for a family dinner tonight and WOW what an amazing pub, We were greeted by “Dan” the landlord with a big smile he couldn’t be more helpful and pleasant, Food was very good and the selection of beer was fantastic. Definitely the best pub we have been to in a long time will be returning soon. Lovely relaxed environment we even had fun playing pool with a few more beers after dinner. Honestly we didn’t want to leave 😂 Highly recommend visiting this lovely local, what a lovely welcoming atmosphere. The golden lion is our local, it’s cheap, the staff are just lovely and the alcohol selection is fab! Not to mention the food is so good - in particular the build your own burger! There are great seating areas and one of our favourite pass times is sitting outside in the sun with a pink gin lemonade and beer! Everyone is super friendly and welcoming, plus it has pool tables or some fruitys and a dart board if ya feeling bored! :)

When we walked in it reminded us of a small amusement arcade with sweet machines and fruit gambling machines. It was rather spit and sawdust. Despite this impression it would not stop us dining here if visiting Worthing again. The food was hot and tasty and very good value. The staff were friendly and helpful. This pub has a good sized car park

Me and my son had lunch at the Golden Lion - We had the Gammon Steaks and ALl Day breakfast. We were served by the wonderfully polite and helpful Holly at the bar and our food was excellent served by Sarah. I highly recommend this pub for a lunch and a beer for the future
