Golden Koi in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

I understand every place has its good and bad days but in this case the food was abit disappointing arrived 45mins late which is fair enough if they were busy but the food wasn't hot anymore and didn't taste that great

Delivery over hour late wrong order food cold I phoned shop twice staff so rude will never use again

The service here is impeccable I order over the phone and can pick up within 15 minutes! Always fresh best Chinese around love their food it's second to none, used to go to Hong sing and they used to be rude on the phone and the service was nowhere near to the perfection of the golden koi and the food here is 100% better tastier and fresher the chips are the best crunchiest chips ever and the friendly staff make u feel welcome which I like whereas Hong sing weren't at all !!! Would highly recommend and would never go anywhere else 5* all the way thankyou 😊

Awful experience! Ordered at 9pm, said 45 min delivery. Phoned and phoned, no answer, finally 11pm…. Spoke to lady on phone, asked to cancel and refund as absolutely ridiculous! She said she won’t do that as they’ll lose money with JustEat, even though it still hadn’t left them!!! She was rude, couldn’t care less, said nothing she can do as she just works there. I asked to speak to her boss, she said no! Finally arrived at 11:20… my guests had left, food was soggy, and far too late to eat, £60 of food wasted! Very disappointing service!! Just eat app says it was delivered within the estimated time…. It was not atall, so they manipulate that info as well!

Have ordered many times from here and food has been good and delivery quick. Unfortunately the last two times the food has been dry and far less enjoyable. The delivery times have been estimated at a hour and once it was 2 hours and last time it was an hour and half. I wont be ordering food from here anymore. Its disappointing.

Best chinese in Redruth, Poole and Cambourne try the box meals they are lush

Everything was very bland and watery. The ribs were very dry and hard. The batter on the chicken balls was too thick. I really didn’t enjoy it and definitely won’t be ordering from here again.

Unfortunately the food was really unpleasant. The chow mein had an almost drain smell and taste and the chicken in it was just boiled and spongy. The rest of the food really didn’t taste of much - it was all just really disappointing. No real flavour or thought. Mini spring rolls just had a couple of bean sprouts in each and were pale and limp. Salt and pepper chips were just dry and tasteless. This used to be a favourite takeaway but we unfortunately won’t go back now.

Ordered food got the wrong order didn't want to ring and complain but had phone calls that accused me of ordering from somewhere else told them exactly where they are and was called a lier, apart from this misunderstanding tonight honestly the best Chinese in redruth... Get orders wrong sometimes always have to double check but good food and portion sizes

Had, barbecue spare ribs (sauce it came in tasted as though it was watered down), S&S chicken balls, (chicken was good, large pieces & 10 of them, sauce watery & vinegary), veg chow mien, (not a lot of flavour) bamboo shoots & water chestnuts (ok, but not like thy use to be). All containers were filled to the top. Not like they use to be, gone down hill. Won't be going back.

Very rude customer service couldn’t go to collect my food as my car won’t work and called to explain to them was very rude to me and said they are blacklisting me from ordering again I have been a very loyal customer but it didn’t matter to them that this was the first time anything like this has happened very disappointing

Ordered chicken chow mein with egg fried.Absolutely disgusting.The chicken was not proper chicken and it was slimy,there was rotten cabbage or what I think cabbage in it,the egg fried rice was not fried,and to top it off a big dirty hair.Will never order again.

Used to be our go to Chinese but the last couple of times have sadly been a bit disappointing. The salt and pepper chips were bland, the batter on the sweet and sour chicken balls really greasy (they used to be lovely and fluffy and the only place I'd really enjoy them from!), and the sweet and sour sauce was a bit watery and vinegary. Still, service was prompt and friendly.

1st time I've ordered from here asked for crispy chilli chicken got slop and rest of dinner not great spring rolls doughy etc plus 20 mi s over there 45 min time slot won't go back

Golden Koi is our regular for Chinese now as it's consistently good. We especially love the satay and the Hong Kong style sweet and sour - and it's always delivered hot.

The worst food I've had in years.

Placed order at 4pm for delivery for 7pm. 7.30pm rang to ask where my food was, told it would be another half hour. 8.20pm rang again because my food still not arrived to be told it was now with the driver. Few minutes later the driver rang and said he was where he was told to meet us! I left specific instructions on how to find us. Food mediocre and after all this not 1 apology off anyone. Won't be using again!

A tale of two meals. I had beef chow mein, which was really nice. My wife had sweet and sour prawn balls. The batter was soggy and unpleasant, the sauce watery and not particularly sweet or sour.

Had sweet and sour battered prawns.Could not taste any sweet and sour sauce,just a wetness. Had to pick out the prawns from the limp undercooked supposed batter.

Best Chinese in town and plenty of it.

Spent nearly £30 on various dishes none of which were great. Had the special rice, the rice was on the bottom with everything on top but the sauce was watery, which made the rice soggy and was very bland. The ribs had no meat on them hardly, and the special noodles were very dry with no sauce. Very disappointing no flavour and either watery or very dry, will not return.

Ordered hot and sour soup it was fantastic!! Never a let down one of our family favourites 10/10 :)

Absolutely lovely food. The dishes were full of flavor and a great quantity. The lady who took my order on the phone was very friendly and polite. All round a great meal and service.

We were visiting the area on holiday... this was a lovely Chinese. Cooked fresh and not too salty or greasy. Very busy on Saturday so we returned later in the week.

Decided to treat ourselves with a Chinese. Easy online ordering. Very quick delivery, the food was delicious and the food delivered was the correct order. Very pleased and happy to recommend the Golden Koi. 21.02.21. Very good menu too!

Always nice food but tonight it was luke warm.. Ordered at 5.30pm it turned up at 10.15pm. We rang after it was 90 minutes late to be told it would be with us in 30 minutes. We waited 45 minutes and rang again to be told it was know going out with a driver, 25 minutes later it arrived!

Normally really good, food always nice but today I ordered at 515 its now 815 and still no show! Spoke to them 40 mins ago and was told its out with the driver now phone is constantly engaged no need to lie. I understand your probably very busy and it has been snowing but at least be truthful, not happy. Update its now 855 still no sign of the food! Nearly 4 hours

Food is good but service is appalling

Came for a holiday and as you do got takeaway and I gotta say this is a great Chinese. Had it delivered and the lady on the phone and delivery lady were very helpful and polite. Food came hot and was a nice clean dinner not oily like a lot of takeaways I’ve had. Food tasted great and plenty of it. Reasonably priced. Will defo be ordering from here again when we come back!

Excellent people and superb food

After waiting for my food and watching a member of staff cough all over the kitchen area and then put his unwashed hands into the chips repeatedly and eat them, the same chips were then taken and served to me! At such times as this hygiene should be of the upmost importance! I left my food behind without a refund absolutely gobsmacked at the sheer lack of care taken when handling food. Do not order from here!

Ordered food for 21:15 as that was the time the train would get me home, plus time to sort myself out. Arrived at 20:30. I am yet to get home, to cold Chinese. The other half was told at the door that the time selected was the latest time it would arrive, yet that is not stayed on the website

Food was an hour and 25 minutes late. When I t got here everything was disgusting. Chips were hard and cold. Shredded beef was dripping soggy. Singapore rice wasn't actually right. Sweet and sour sauce was watery . When I rang up I asked the person for a refund she spoke to the manager and i heard tthe manager shouting at her that they won't do anything. RewllyReally bad experience. Won't be going again. And will be telling friends and family. I put it all in the bin 😡😡😡

Took over an hour to arrive. The Kunbo I asked for was the Kunbo special. Ended up with chicken Kunbo, which was not very spicy at all. I would of rung up to complain but by the time it got to us I was so hungry I just ate it. The only up side is now I know never to order from them ever again

The food was very tasty and when ordering in it arrived very swiftly. They have plenty of food on the menu so you will have lots of options when ordering. I would definitely recommend this Chinese takeaway! .

amazing well cooked tasty food,we had a takeaway of spare ribs in honey,mouth watering,chicken in cashew nuts,really delicious Sliced beef Szechuan style and Shanghai duck ,highly recommend,was all hot and freshly cooked and on time

I was bored of my regular takeaway and called Golden Koi. Staff was helpful, food was delivered within an hour. Shredded chili beef was crispy and tasty, chicken with cashew nuts best I had for long time. I will definitely order again

As New Hong Sing our regular was closed for holidays we though we would try Golden Koi for a Birthday Meal. BIG MISTAKE, although good amounts of chicken in the chicken curry it was utterly tasteless and swimming in a thin curry sauce with chucks of chewy onion and six peas. £20 down the drain and food in the bin - Do not waste your money.

Sadly my wife and I ordered from Golden koi tonight and we very disappointed at all our meal. 2x special chow mein and portion of mini sprng rolls. Noodles were burnt and dry and spring rolls were empty. I so wish I could say were enjoyed it more than the dustbin.

Bland food and weird tasting meat: the 'lamb' in my partner's curry was indescribable tasteless mush that tasted nothing like lamb, or anything else and the crispy shredded beef I had was not very convincing either. To be fair the vegetables were quite fresh and crisp, but in all honesty you will be far, far better off making the trip out to GQ in Carharrack
