I went with my mum for dinner on the way home from being out all day. The staff were very pleasant and the service was in a good time frame. The food came out relatively quick and hot. The staff checked our satisfaction and seemed efficient. It wasn’t too noisy or busy but then it was a Monday. The prices are OK for wadebridge, probably a fiver less per meal than most other places. We liked in there because it feels open has friendly staff and you know what your getting and we had a nice dinner, thanks.

We hadn’t been here for a long time but it’s now fantastic , brilliant staff wonderful food . It seems a change of management has made a big difference, Our meal was so nice we booked for Sunday lunch

the last time me and my wife came here in march 2024 the steak and ale pie with chips even though the was frozen style chips was nice and the pie was great the staff was fantastic .I dont know what happened .. both me and the wife went to the travelodge nextdoor for our 27th wedding anniversary and thought we would have the same as before the only thing different was my wife had the same pie as i had because she usually has chicken pie because beef and pork pies dont sit well with her . the pies and chips came out quickly which was great but the food was very poor . the pies my wife and i could eat but the chips was hot yes but smothered in salt ( i had requested nothing that has extra salt i cant eat anything with added salt) i could not even eat 1 chip because of this i did report it to the young female staff member who said that yes all the chips have salt and the walked away before i could say much more the i cant eat anything with added salt with a shrug of her shouldes the young blond girl was gone back into the kitchen .that night the pie came back with a vengence i was violently ill was a real bad 27th anniverary we wont and i cant return . when i say my doctor who has taken the name and address of the place said it was lucky i didnt go into hospital so we wont return

We thought it was the best option for lunch in this horrible weather and we were pleasantly surprised by the excellent standard of service from Becky and Amy. I have to say that the Sunday lunch was one of the best ones I’ve had, we couldn’t decide on the meat so both of us went for the three meat option and it was delicious. Loads of perfectly cooked veg include gorgeous red cabbage, perfect turkey, pork and beef and a huge Yorkshire pudding. Unfortunately we were beaten by our dinners and couldn’t manage a pudding this time but our Baileys Lattes were the perfect meal ending. Sadly we don’t live nearby or we would make this our ‘go to’ place

We had come in yesterday in hope of getting a drink and possibly a little something to eat, when entering the restaurant, there was a sign to wait to be seated, we had waited for around 15-20 minutes or so, the guy behind the bar had noticed us multiple times however did not say a thing, the young girl had told us that she would be with us in a moment however she had gone to go and take orders, clean tables, to the bar, so everything except from coming to us, therefore we had walked out and gone elsewhere. Tonight, we had come in for some dinner, when we had come in, the lady behind the bar in a floral dress, was at the stand pretty much immediately as we had walked in, and was very welcoming, we got given our table, we were the first people to be sat in that area, the starter was lovely however after that, it seems as though things had gone downhill.We had waited almost an hour for the main course to be brought out and I was left rather confused as to how and why a table of 5 who were seated after us, had received their food prior to us, a good 25 minutes before us as well as quite a few other tables in our area. The waitress did not apologise for the wait either, which I had found unprofessional, neither did anybody communicate that the kitchen could not keep up with the orders meaning that there would be a wait, rather disappointing really . The main was average, it was edible, nothing outstanding. Due to the long wait on the main course and the service being alright, nothing great, we did not have dessert nor anymore drinks. I am rather disappointed by the service tonight and the lack of communication.

Went in at the opening for lunch and the food we got was delicious and served very fast and the staff were really nice too.

Food was nice, but very expensive for what you got, the 30% voucher we had the lady refused to take, she wasn't very friendly at all. We also wanted pudding but four of the puddings were not available. Overall very disappointed

We had a lovely meal here on a recent trip to Cornwall. The service was brilliant, we had Becky as our waitress and she was very attentive. Would definitely come back.

service was shocking they left all are plates and drinks on the table the whole time we were there which was about 2 hours they didn't come to collect any of it what so ever. they took ages to make our desert and didn't give us a flake and didn't apologise the staff were miserable (the blonde women) she waiting for us to clear the table for her to put down our desert as if we are the ones that clear the table and when we walked in to go to our table there was already left over food when we sat down. we went the day before and it weren't as bad still like this but overall the service was shocking and they are miserable.

great food, absolutely terrible service. Ive been here multiple times and had like one good service experience. Today when i went, we ordered our main meal and the staff were just grumpy. our main meal took ages to come around but not too bad. our food was lovely then we ordered pudding at it took like over half an hour to come. the pudding didnt even have a flake which i know it comes with. she didnt even apologise. then this woman gave my mum her pudding at waited for my MUM to clean the table WHILST HOLDING A BABY and didnt even take the plates. she didnt apologise for bad service and making us clean the table she just sat there and watched us struggle with a dog and a baby. it was very expensive and a waist of my money i feel. the service wasnt only terrible but the people were really unsociable and didnt apologise at all. it was quiet in this pub and no wonder why.

Food wasn’t available as the gas was out, but good beer and friendly service.

Understaffed and so service is appauling

Came here yesterday with my partner for dinner, we were greeted at the door by a lovely young girl who sat us to the table. Food was lovely, we opted for the signature sharer because we couldn’t make up our minds on a starter they all sounded so good! Steak americano and some home made kebabs were both amazing and we squeezed in a chocolate dome for dessert. Overall lovely friendly staff and great food. Will be back soon!

Felt very discriminated when I walked in with my children.. place was empty and they turned us away. Attitude from the entrance guy was atrocious. Traveled miles for something to eat. Not happy

Manager and staff very friendly and welcoming. Delicious starter and main. Nice decor andToilets nicely furbished. Enjoyed it last night so returned this evening.

Practically empty but service was very slow, friendly guy who brought our condiments but waitress was miserable and obviously felt doing her job was too much trouble. Food was mediocre, I had hunters chicken which was completely dried out. The green salad that came with it had seen better days, Some of us had desserts which was supposed to come with cream however when it didn’t arrive we asked for some to be told they didn’t have any! Overall it was a fairly disappointing experience which was a shame as the actual pub seems very nice. I think maybe they were short staffed when we visited but it wasn’t a welcoming environment and although we’re local I doubt very much that we will go there again.

Booked a table on Saturday night to be told 8pm was earliest. When we arrived pub was half empty so don't understand the 8pm booking. The mixed grill steak was well overcooked and the pork dry and tastless. My Hunters chicken was so hard and dry had to use a steak knife to cut it!! Booked a table for Sunday night and told there was only bar service available. Shown to a table and ordered fish & chips and steak & ale pie. After 20 minutes waitress informed us they had no fish & chips or steak & ale pie!!! We left and won't be returning in the future!

Shocking service, over an hour wait wasn't busy. No apologies, terrible table service, over cooked food. When I paid I was finally asked how the food was and after explaining I wasn't happy, I recieved a response of "oh" Over priced sub par food.

45 minute wait for food and not even busy.Run out of pies scampi,fish & chicken burgers 8pm friday night. Brookyln Lager flat as a pancake apparently had been like that a while. However both meals we had sausage & mash & truffle mac and cheese were lovely.

Not a great experience not going to lie. We arrived at 6PM, told food would be 45 minute wait (school holidays) so thought fair enough. Discovered pub was half empty so already a bit confused as we were given no excuse as to why. Front of house staff were absolutely great particularly the bloke behind the bar so can't put a bad word for them. Waited over an hour and asked where the food was and said would be 5 minutes, ended up being closer to another 15 minutes. Food was great so can't put a downer on that. But seems there is multiple issues on long waiting times here, and needs sorting. As we had visited here over multiple years under its old name of "The Falcon"

The staff were lovely and the starters were really nice (even better than the mains). The starters did take a little longer that what you would expect for a starter but considering it was the only highlight of the food that was yet to come can’t really complain. The main food took just almost 2 hours to arrive considering how it wasn’t very busy. The fish and chips were disappointing as it was overdone and was tough to eat. Definitely, don’t recommend the fish and chips in the future. The hunter chicken was nice, but arrived cold.

Honestly don’t understand the poor reviews as the food was very nice! Pie was lovely and so was the scampi. Really recommend

Very unwelcome and terrible staff. Went in for drink at 2130 hrs told its last orders at 2200 hrs and was very reluctant to serve us . We stated it was not 2200 hrs yet and stood our ground and begrudgingly served the 4 of us with a drink . Went on moaning that it was because the travel lodge was full of homeless people and they caused trouble. Really disgusting welcome and customer service . Discriminating towards the homeless and I will be pursuing this discrimination through further channels

Absolutely shocking food mixed grill burnt on the outside raw in the middle egg raw, so basically paid £20 for chips don't recommend

Very enjoyable the waitress was lovely very efficient the food was lovely and would recommend the rich caramel tart to anyone it was delicious we live in Indian queens it's not far to travel cant fault anything

Looked a nice place but the food wasn’t all that. We visited on a Sunday and hadn’t booked so we were told we had to eat in the bar! There were loads of empty tables in the restaurant part (which were still empty when we left). We ordered roast pork and roast beef, mac n cheese. About ten minutes later we were told there was no beef and no roast potatoes! Apparently this was because they stop doing roast dinners at 4pm - although the menu stated they did them all day! When we got our roast dinners the food was cold and dried up - not very pleasant really. Although the mac n cheese was tasty. The guy serving us was really nice but the duty manager was abrupt when discussing the issues we had found with our visit. Will not bother with this place again.

Starter was ok, main roast was horrendous! We had the trio roast and the beef. Service was OK apart from the rude lady on entrance. Atmosphere is empty so maybe should have guessed about the food. Lesson learnt.

Update May 9th 2024, had San Miguel tonight, lovely. Scamp and fries with mushy peas hit the spot. Great pint of Pedigree, attentive service and food good but deep fried too long. Update April 30 2024, no Pedigree this time but enjoyed the San Miguel. Baked Camembert and fish and chips lovely and really friendly and attentive service from Maggie.

Waitress not very knowledge regarding menu options or food availability. Seemed abit of a chore to serve us.

So my colleague and I ordered 2 burgers which were great but the fact the fries had obviously been cooked then recooked let the meal down

Got declined a table twice for food after trying to book. Plenty of empty tables when we did go in and asked to order chips with a drink and also got declined. Really poor service and Managment. Had some beers and the lady behind the bar said last orders was 10.30. The manager come Down and 10.40 kicked us out claiming they close at 10.00. Sort it out

We were in Cornwall for an event and staying at the hotel next door. We had been drinking al last so couldn’t drive. Decided to order food. Told no space without reservation. We made a reservation and still told no they are cancelling it. With no reason. Not busy. Loads of tables. Weren’t even allowed to order bar snacks.

Do not eat here at all there's a reason their dishing out 30% off main meals because they can't get the custom, I thought I'd get a breakfast to waste some time as I was waiting for my MOT anyway, I got a full English, and tbf it wasn't bad even though the sausages looked like they were put through a open fire, I immediately ran to the toilet after only eating half and is now lying In bed feeling pretty horrific I've never in my life had food poisoning , pretty much ruined my day and weekend cheers

It was a lovely characterful pub, they weren’t offering table service due to short staff, but they were transparent and upfront about this on arrival which was nice and kept expectations high! They took our order at the bar promptly and warmly and the food followed shortly after. Good portions at sensible prices and everything was fresh and hot! The desserts were yummy and everything was presented well! Drinks were lovely and well mixed, with a variety of cocktails from the classics to some house specials which was a good addition. We’ve never visited this establishment before but we would definitely recommend and return in the future!

Simply Awful. Really poor service from the off. Team member behind the bar not very inviting. We order 5 meals as two seperate orders. The first order had been eaten by the time the second were delivered. Had to ask for cutlery. We ordered mixed grills where requested as medium but delivered as burnt offerings. I took my meal back to be told that it was chargrilled. I understand chard grill, but I could taste no flavour other than burnt offerings. Very disappointing all round. Thank you for the response. We did indeed have a conversation on the evening, and a refund was given for my meal. It is interesting to note two other reviews from around the same time with similar feedback.

Barman was great but the waitress left alot to be desired. I don't think she'd ever seen a person of colour before and definatley felt unwelcome and it was the day before my birthday. I was staying at the travel lodge there but didn't visit again after my experience . A diversity course might be prudent as she made it very clear I wasn't welcome.and I wouldn't want anyone else to feel that way.

Stopped off for a beer and a spot of lunch , nice pub close to padstow and some nice beachy coves.

If you like waiting an hour or two for your food and you like cold food that has been waiting around a while and fries like card board, this is the place for you. It’s not cheap so I’d have expected them to have more staff than they had, I waited at the bar for a drink for ten minutes but the barman was at the front door getting people booked in. It wasn’t the place for me and definitely won’t be going there again.

Just ordered 4 meals 2 mixed grills rare stakes where medium my partner ordered a mixed grill, but the steak was missing and my medium-well done came to the table rare the staff were slow to serve and management were not bothered I will not be back a total waste of money. In answer to your reply, the waitress told the manager within earshot that she had to replace the well done steaks with the required blue ones. So I suggest someone is not telling the truth. How can a chef get 4 steaks wrong? Then wait for a sauce for another 15mins on top of the 20 mins already waited for another well done steak to be prepared??

This is the second time I’ve eaten here whilst working away on business. The first time I had a slight issue with my meal in that the pastry on the pie was totally rock hard and inedible. I did mention this to the staff and was told ‘Yes, it comes like that’ !!! Decided to give them a second chance, why did I do that? I had their Signature Burger which sounded OK. When it arrived I was underwhelmed to say the least. Apart from the two patties being rather on the small side, they were almost cremated. Two bites and I couldn’t face anymore. One plus the very small portion of chips were tasty but at £16.99 it was on the whole really poor. Staff came and went past my table on three occasions and I decided to wait to see if anyone would ask how my meal was. I waited in vain. You will probably say why didn’t I go and tell them but can I refer you to my previous experience. The burgers are probably meant to be that way. Their Signature is obviously written in charcoal. No more visits I’m afraid. Two is enough. Shame as it’s conveniently located to the hotel I use. Never mind Tesco is close by. Try harder Pearl and Trawl. You have failed twice now.

Tried their Signature Sharer, what a deal! Food is gratifying and so appetizing. The menu comes with so many selections, prices are fair enough, and customer service is satisfactory! Food is a positive deal!

We have visted a few times before! The waitresses are attentive! The food is lovely (albeit the new menu is a little more pricey, I'm glad we had the discount voucher!) The plates were very hot, the waitress forgot to mention it, so that's one thing they could improve on! We will no doubt visit again soon!

We were told when we ordered food at the bar it would be 30 to 40 minutes which we were OK with. It arrived in about 40 minutes. 1 Royal chicken Tikka Masala, one Mixed Grill. The Tikka Masala was dry, the nam bread was cold. The mixed grill was as discribed but no tomato, half mushroom which the menu seemed to indicate there was. Bits of it were barely warm but in fairness I ate it all. When asked by a member of staff "How was our meal" we pointed out what we felt we the shortcommings. She did offer to replace the Chicken Tikka but given how long we had waited for our order we declined. She then offered us a free drink. As we had ordered at the bar and already paid she couldn't knock anything off of the bill. One of the free drinks should have been cider but was in fact beer of some sort. We gave up! Good food spoilt, service slow I felt they were short staffed. Disapointing.

Absolute shi** The blonde waitress was so rude when we has issues with our order (missing items etc) The food was complete sh**t. They didn't have fish and chips, so I went for the burger and it was so flat and dry. The fries were awful. Tables were dirty. I really wouldn't recommend, the waitress was awful and we waited 45 minutes for our food and they never cleared our table. To top it off they charged us for 2 puddings that we didn't even have. So yeah, don't go.

We've been here a few times and it's always been good. By far the best thing about it for us, is its designated gluten-free menu. You don't have to faff around with an app only to be told you can't eat anything, there's a whole menu of decent choices and even 3 puddings. I'm also dairy-free, and the brownie was both GF and vegan so for once I could enjoy a dessert, and it was good too! Would definitely recommend for allergies. It's a nice chilled environment and we always receive friendly service.

We waited over an hour for our food to eventually receive it with no apologies for the long wait and not even told would be a long wait we thought about having pudding but was told this would be a long wait so paid and left

Staying in the Travelodge next door. Picked this hotel as there was a pub/restaurant on site. Finished work, travelled, checked in and went over to the pub at 20:15. Told that the restaurant was closed and no food available, there are some places in town! Had already ordered a pint so driving was not an option. Resorted to crisps and chocolate from the hotel vending machine. This was a Friday evening 5th April. Don’t advertise restaurant opening times if you are not going to stick to them.

Arrived at 615 for some food wasn’t told how long food waiting time was! Quickly ordered food and drinks, over an hours wait for it to come out, I ordered buttermilk chicken burger that when it arrived was a grilled chicken breast what was burnt and stringy and dry! Half a pot of chips and the smallest of coleslaw in a big pot! No cutlery available so had to go on the hunt for someone to restock! The child’s portion was bigger than the adults order!

The worse food I have eaten in a restaurant in a long long time. Overcooked and freezing cold, if I could give 0 as a recommendation I would. Half the food wasn’t even edible!!! Just wish I took I picture of the burnt burger. Daughters fish was also simply batter! Avoid, go to Mcdonals even that’s better!

We received a warm welcome from the staff. Excellent service throughout our visit. Food was served in good time was hot and very tasty! Will definitely be going back.

Decided to try here again on Easter Sunday. Come in around 2.30 to be told there was no Sunday lunches left. This is shocking for any Sunday but being Easter Sunday it makes it worse. Me and my husband made second choices fish and chips and a burger, very long wait nearly 40 minutes but others waited longer. Dining staff very friendly and kept us updated. Shame it was short staffed again, lots out of stock and such a long wait for food.

Booked a table to be told over an hour for food on arrival, this turned out to be one hour 45 mins!!! Steak was chewy! Onion rings over cooked! Tomatoe burnt! Generally disappointed

Very good food, staff were very welcoming and attentive. It was an hour wait for food but understandable due to large tables before we arrived and it being Easter weekend. The food was very good.

Good service nice food excellent value for money

Over an hour wait for food and it was expensive rubbish. Also no Ale, wine etc very poor would have had a better meal deal from Tesco with a pack of ale.

Book it for a 60th Birthday meal at 1.30pm they had no turkey no yourkshire puddings and we had to wait over an hour for our meal

Very disappointed with the service, waitress needs to go on a customer service update? Waited an hour without any apology, peppercorn arrived with steak which was luke warm, husbands meal was incomplete with what was on the menu, didn't get offered a desert menu?? Manager wasn't any help whatsoever. Will not return any time soon.

Arrive 10 mins early for booking to be told hour wait for food, took drink order said we wanted to order food due to wait times told needed to do drinks first and would be back then watched as staff member went from us cleared 2 tables that were empty, talk to someone at bar then take order on tablet stood at bar from another table then walk round bar so we approached said again we wanted to place food order said she needed to do drinks first said that would extend time we needed to wait was told no it wouldn’t, drinks arrived food was over an hour other unhappy tables close to us, told food was coming out in order of order. Eventually meal came out buttered chicken burger overcooked and tough too hungry to complain, 5 mins between 2 meals and other 2 meals at table with no apology. Finished meals eventually came over cleared and asked if we wanted desserts bought menu gave up waiting after 25 mins paid and left. Customer service did not exist at all, observing same for everyone. We won’t be back. Table booked 7.30 left restaurant 9.45pm

Arrived for our RESERVED table with 2 well behaved dogs as website emphasises dog friendly. Frosty reception to be told only 4 tables allocated for dogs and they were full!!! Not to worry, we offered to put our dogs in our vehicle while we ate. Shown to a table. Waitress then told us it would be a 40 minute wait for ANY food as they had two large groups in. (Why did the system let us book the same time then???!) We asked whether they could manage starters at least to tide us over and she said she'd check returning to tell us it would be "long wait". So we left. They COULD have been friendlier. They COULD have been proactive and offered free breads or something to nibble at least as a gesture. Nope. So disappointing. Just felt like they didn't want us and couldn't be bothered. Awful.

It was a great experience, as I was stopping at the Travelodge next-door, I had a lovely warm welcome from both staff & regulars, I later returned to get some food, and found it most satisfying, they also gave my Dog a great welcome too.

We checked the website before we went for dinner, it said restaurant open till 9pm, we arrived about 8 to be told the restaurant was closing, we quickly ordered food which to be fair was promptly served and was very nice. Worth a visit but definitely book ahead!! And as a footnote.....no draught Marston beer in a Marston pub!!!!

Good was excellent & it was table service which we prefer the staff were friendly & helpful the only thing that let it down was we ordered a table sharing dish which we had to tell them was missing so it came after we started our main course. We would definitely go there again.

Comfy decor and sincere staff, Sunday lunch on Mothers Day, kept informed of wait, and food was prepared with care, lovely meal. Plenty of parking, amazing view, just an all round great spot

The steak I ordered was tasty, as was the plant burger. However, on both dishes the chips/fries were far too salty. On my steak dish I was also a bit put off by the hair I found on the mushroom. Edit: we were not asked how our food was.

Exceptional everything from Adam and the team at this lovely freindly pub. We wandered in with a few van issues which they sorted out, brilliant!. We ordered food , and i have to say it was the most banging bangers and mash (with bacon and gravy) that ive ever had. My wife really enjoyed the homemade kebab and all reasonably priced. We need to move to Wadebridge. Thankyou all ,definately be back.

Steak chips and chocholate pudding with ice cream .mains and desert for£15.75. Good honest food cooked just right, at a reasonable price. Mix grill ausome it was very filling,cooked just right.

Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent service. Good choice of food on the menu. Very nice roast dinner choices and sides. Dog friendly, with blanket, dog bowl and dog treats provided. Would go again.
