Ordered my food just before 7pm and it said it was delivered at 7:20 yet I never received my food. Terrible service

My old review: Great portion of fish and chips, perfect! Updated review: Some of the greasiest fish and chips I have ever had. They must have had the oil too cool or put too much fish in all at once, cooling the oil down too much, as the batter was like an oil soaked sponge, as were the boxes and paper that it came in. It made me and my father ill (both having IBD) and I avoided most of the batter but even the chips were really quite greasy. I really can't recommend it if it's this inconsistent between visits.

Food OK but couldn't choose sauce / relish for 1/2lb Burger. chips were cold but was probably because of late delivery. despite note asking for salt and vinegar on chips there was none. Surprising as previous orders from this establishment have been excellent. so this was even more disappointing.

very slow can't seem to cope with collections

I went to this service and ordered my meal I’ve come home to find that two of the things I ordered wasn’t there have tried multiple times to get in contact with them and the phone line isn’t working, I then re ordered on the just eat app and got a notification saying the shop couldn’t complete my order, AVOID AVOID AVOID

Easily our fave chippy. The fish are crazy big (we could share one if we weren’t feeling greedy), and the chips are usually the perfect with some crispy, some soft.

I order on the Web to be picked up in store to avoid the wait. On arrival told them my name and the prepared my order,wrong order. So I told them my name again and they prepared another order,again wrong order, when I did get it ,it was already prepared. Went home and the food was nearly cold , phone number do not work, was hungry so I microwaved it. Last few visits It has really gone downhill. You have been warned

the young politeful man behined the counter on the 11th December really made my experience in the golden kitcken much better, after a hard day he made it better by being respectful and charming. He definitely needs a pay rise!

Food was piping hot and the fish was delicious. Best chippie

delivered on time no problem, my wife's meal was as expected, unfortunately the battered cod was very poor, the batter was very over cooked and so was the fish, very dry and far to crunchy, I will have to rethink were I get my fish and chips

The food was great as usual but it was kinda cold. It was annoying seeing it being “out for delivery” for so long (approx 25 mins) but going all around town and then arriving tepid. Especially as we didn’t order for ASAP, but instead chose a time quite far in advance.

sorry I didn't get my food delivered I am not very happy with it. you need to get your delivery person to know the Bicester area.

Missing part of the order and told that the shop could do nothing to rectify the issue because it was ordered through an app, it was not the apps fault that the order we placed was not fully delivered it was the shop staff. The 2 star rating is for poor customer service.

Chips was mixed with uncooked one so bin them

As before best fish and chips ever we also tried mixed kabab etc which was also sooooo amazingly tasty always turns up really nice and hot and looks great and the portion sizes are great to thanks 😄👍🏼

wrong order delivered, refused to send driver back to exchange for correct order!

I didn't actually receive my food because the driver delivered it to the wrong house. I rang the restaurant who said they don't know the driver or my order details so can't resend. They also refused to refund me and claimed they couldn't get hold of Just Eat. Very rude. Som

Chips were good..but the batter on the sausage and fish was rock hard . I could hardly cut into it. It was way to over done which was such a shame.

This chippy started strong after a 2 year closure. Unfortunately its now hit and miss with the quality of food. Fish so of grease and chips can be dry and cold ,while being like little off cuts . It's a shame really. Rather have a nice Chinese now a couple of doors along.

Probably the first customer on opening today! Medioca place, Fish mainly batter..Chips reheated from earlier that day or previous..Advertise Kebab! But no Spit the meat is precooked so I didn't bother..all in all a lot better Fish & Chips in Bicester than here in my opinion. However I'm sure lots love it...

i am a regular customer , ordered 1 x regular and 1 x cheesy chips ,got 2 x cheesy chips . all food was only just warm . really dissapointed 😌

One of the first to recommend but sadly not going back price gone up batter greasy and chips cold this could have been the best in Bicester most of people I know who I recommended to have commented the same,What a shame

As always just perfect. Hot food, great presentation and very tasty.

The delivery was fast, but the food was average. The chicken in the kebab was not grilled to kebab standard and the doner had some some sauce mixed in that we didn't ask for. It's not the worst kebab I have had but certainly far from the best I've had.

Ordered chips, battered sausages and normal sausages, never again, the sausages went straight in the bin as they were awful, batter wasn't cooked and everything swimming in grease. The only good thing, the chips amd curry sauce were delicious.

Food quality really good, very tasty. Delivery was very prompt and food was all hot. If the burger bun was toasted it would have been even better. Only one issue on the ordering on some of the burgers you do not get the option to choose salad or sauce mainly the 1/2 pounders and kebab burger. Delivery driver was polite.

Didn’t receive drinks no help from golden kitchen

Worst fish and chips I have ever had. Ordered the garlic mushrooms to which everyone recommended and they were so bland , no garlic flavour just mushroom . Also ordered scampi and chips to where the chips were bland and dry had no salt or vinegar in them even though I did ask for it and I had more batter than scampi and not to take the mick but the scampi was no bigger Than a pinky nail. My partner ordered a kebab to where the meat was very thick and tasteless and the chicken tasted extremely fake, very rubbery . Partner also ordered a Battered mars bar and all we could taste was olive oil , no chocolate flavour or even caramel , just grease every where . Also had to wait 45 minutes for the food to be ordered , really disappointed because a lot of people have recommended this place but I personally would not go there ever again.

Food was delivered quickly however the food was honestly awful. Full of grease, chicken in kebab was gooey. Chicken wings were dry and had little to no flavour. Chicken chunks didn't come with sauce as promised

Food a bit hit and miss. Sometimes excellent and on this occasion very greasy. Unfortunately no longer the best in Bicester. Fish and Chips are no longer a cheap treat and our expectations are high at this price.

Best fish and chips in Bicester! So glad there is another fish and chip place as the one in Kingsmere has definitely gone downhill. This was perfect and lovely curry sauce.😋

Chicken was very fatty and had a strange smell and taste. Delivery time was also pushed back. Chips were OK.

We have just changed from our usual fish and chip shop and found the Golden Kitchen excellent. Great quality food and good size portions. Wish we had changed weeks ago. Highly Recommended.

Had donner kebabs from here lots of times before and was good quality tasty meat . However today i had what tasted like microwave donner meat full of gristle. They have changed the meat without saying anything. Last order from us unfortunately.

Excellent food this was my second order and I would definitely order again.

We received, a friendly greeting when we went in to the shop. Bit if a wait for our order but thats ok because it was cooked fresh. The chips were lovely tasty and well cooked. However the batter on the fish was way to thick, also on the sweet side. Not crispy but claggy/chewy to eat, (obviously not eaten) and not cooked on the inside, although the fish itself was good. So expensive if you can't eat all of it. The batter mix just needed some wiping off before putting it into the fryer. Don't know if they mix their own batter or it is premixed, but too sweet. Shame really because the lady is very friendly, the guy who was doing the cooking too busy to say hello. Bonus parking at the door.

This was our 3rd delivery and we cannot believe the difference we have seen from the 1st. Our first ( cod bites ) was amazing , non greasy and cooked to perfection. Our 2nd was again cod bites as we enjoyed them so much the first time and this time Chilli, Chips and Cheese. The cod bites were seriously overcooked with the batter needing to be pulled off as it was inedible and the cod as a result was like it had been in the desert for a week and was inedible. The CCC however was amazing and brilliant quality. This Our 3rd was again disappointing. Another Chilli, Chips and Cheese or on this occasion mostly big melted clumps of cheese with a chip in it and a thin sprinkling of chilli. The chips were some of the greasyest we have ever seen.... 0/10 We wanted to try the half spitroast chicken but it wasn't available so opted for the 1/2 pound bacon cheeseburger and chips. As previously mentioned the chips were so greasy the wrapping had puddles of grease. The burger bun was wet due to so much grease/fat coning off the burgers. I had requested burger sauce which was missing and the burgers were the worst quality I had ever had from a chip shop, think macdonalds cheeseburger thin, rubbery, greasy and very very salty ... totally inedible. So overall our 3rd attempt was a disaster and sorry to say we will not use again. Such a disappointment given the first order was amazing.

It was a really lovely and quality fish and chips takeaway until something has happened and the last two order wasn't so great. If talking about fish and chips we always going to Golden Kitchen since they are reopened as it is the best in town ,but last two occasions was a huge disappointment. Box-long fish, but half of it mainly deep fried breadcrumbs and other half is half dried fish meat. It was the second time in a row when had fish like this. Before , the fish was nice ,thick ,not so long but full of meat. I think it is time for us to find an other fish and chips bar ,but it will be difficult as Golden Kitchen was one of the best!

Ordered cod bites, delivered totally overcooked. Inedible and in pools of fat , so much that the wrapping paper was dripping wet. Chilli chips and cheese was very good
