Golden House Chinese Takeaway in Fylde

Came to thus lovely restaurant and hotel fir my birthday surprise and all the staff where friendly. Helpful. And what a lovely meal we had. Would definitely coming back and bring more family and friends here

Most of the food is usually ok for what you pay. They’ve changed the kids meal so you can’t get chips with any kids meals. So you need to buy extra if that’s what they want which they usually do. Most of the staff are lovely but there is one older lady with short hair that is just horrible. They always get the order wrong which I don’t mind letting them know and they usually just sort it but she always takes offence and personally comes over whilst you’re eating to say she hadn’t got it wrong. I’ve kept my receipt for the sole purpose of if she comes over so I can show her she’s forgotten things. She’s rude and has no customer service at all. She lets the place down in my opinion.

There was once I vowed never to eat here again after a very overcooked steak and several other previously bad meals. The food now is unrecognisable and much, much better. There must be a new kitchen staff as I have had consistently well cooked food that is a steal at the price. Tonight’s medium rare Sirloin steak was cooked to perfection and to top it all.

The room I stayed in was very small. It didn’t even have a desk that I could sit at and conduct work meetings from which was awkward as I had to just sit on the bed to do this. This seemed different from other HI expresses I have stayed at in the past and considering the price I paid (£230) I would expect this basic amenity. The breakfast seemed a bit better than the standard HI express breakfast. Hotel was located in a nice area but about a 10 min walk to station. Overall I wouldn’t stay here for business again but it’s adequate if you just need somewhere to sleep
