Ye absolutely top notch place to go down to when the weather is a bit crap and you're clucking for some cans with the boys. I've never felt more at home with the boys and some cans than at the golden guinea on guinea street. Just up the road is a historical cultural sight that is the home that the geezer with the speaker and 2 dogs lives. It's definitely a spectacle and should be enjoyed with a couple of cans

Had a birthday party in the downstairs room...highly recommend the venue. Lovely space. Lovely staff.

Lovely little bar with outdoor space to rear on a couple of levels. Seemed friendly and a nice local used by locals.

Hired the room for a wedding party, great space to hold a gathering for any occasion! Super helpful, polite and responsive staff on the evening made everything stress free and everyone had a blast! Highly recommend for a function or just a pint.

arrived Friday 7 June at 1215 (states open at 12) not open told opening soon came back at 1300 were asked the time and told not opening yet! So took our £ elsewhere, shame especially with the challenges of current market place for such establishments as we were all looking forward to it

I didn't get food here, but the drinks and atmosphere are very good.

We used the downstairs room for a function and it was honestly fantastic! Everyone we interacted with was really friendly and helpful. We had a great party, great vibes and great food. Thanks so much for having us!

Probably the best pub in Bristol. Good real ales, warm in the winter, an outside yard area, and dog friendly (I'm not a pet owner myself but I know this is important for some). Great location too... 10 minute walk from the city centre and Temple Meads station.

Great atmosphere, friendly bar staff. Surprisingly spacious inside. Just a lovely pub just back from the water. Wide selection of IPAs. Check it out.

They let us have their downstairs room for an informal work event for free. Good selection of beers and friendly staff. There's a nice garden at the back.

Was thinking of going to Ostrich but couldn't face beer in a plastic cup. Decided on Golden Guinea and so glad I did. Some nice beers, friendly barman, and relaxing environment. Just walk up the hill from the Ostrich . . . it's worth it! 👍

Little treasure of a pub in a cosy spot of town. Always incredibly friendly and personable staff, more than happy to discuss their great variety of cask and tap drinks, or anything else on your mind! Good outdoor seating for those lazy evening drinks, they are even kind enough to host meetings downstairs for small groups. Can't reccomend this place enough if you want a truly amicable and welcoming experience.

Quaint city pub has a rather dingy damp basement room which occasionally host musical groups ie. Sea Shanty singalong. Parking difficult and Drinks expensive. That said it has a strange appeal and is worth a visit. Will return.

Very busy pub on the Saturday night when I visited with friends. Had a great time in there, fantastic range of beers and cider, staff were happy and seemed to enjoy their work.

This is a great pub with lots of indoor and out door seating. The staff where friendly and the drinks where standard city center prices. If the Ostrich is full or your looking for somewhere with more indoor seating then i would definitely come here.

No pub has ever made so much of so little outside space.Foot in both camps between real Ale and Craft ale lovers.

I had a confirmed booking from the manager for venue hire but when I emailed about food options the manager stopped replying to my emails. I emailed several times and no response. I called the pub and was told that a booking for the same date had been made by someone else. I wouldn’t have minded so much if the manager had been honest and informed me of their mistake but now I have very little time to find another venue! Thanks a bunch

Reinvented venue absolutely perfect for young folks seeking friendly conversation dancing and maybe someone special for life. My local for 5 years just a few doors down Guinea Street.

Worst place to ever have a birthday party the pub itself is very traditional but a party forget it food was appalling and.the service was absolutely shocking was told the garden at the back shuts at 10pm on a weekend and the dj was told to turn his music down to a minimum to keep noise disruption down as I said lovely pub but no good for parties

A true gem of a pub with a great choice in beer and a friendly atmosphere. I get a warm happy feeling when I get there, be it for a quick drink in the sun out the back or an evening with friends. Just wish I lived a little closer and it could be my local.
