Golden Fisheries in Tendring

We wanted to grab a quick meal after driving a long time so called at the fisheries, piping hot sausage and chips all very tasty to eat by the seafront.

Excellent service, cooked to order so prepare to wait or order ahead. Really friendly welcome and delicious fish and chips. Very generous portion and not too greasy! Will definitely return.

Visiting Harwich for a family day trip, a friend recommended Golden Fisheries. The fish & chips were delicious, freshly cooked while I waited. The staff were friendly as well. I would definitely recommend this takeaway.

Amazing fish and chips. The better on fish is so lovely and light. So many chips. All cooked fresh for our within 10 minutes from telephone order. Brilliant friendly service. So many chips left over - such good portions. Excellent value.

I’m a regular to a well known chip shop in Harwich town, but when seeing the queue last week I decided to look elsewhere. A bit more than a mile up the road at the far end of Dovercourt high street was this place. It’s not as close to the sea and to be honest didn’t look as promising, but it’s wonderful and this will be my port of call from now on. I had a large and flavoursome piece of cod with delicious flakes of fish and a perfect bubbly batter. The chips were generous and I was surprised to find a complimentary sausage as well! I was only charged for one ketchup sachet instead of two, and the server was polite and friendly. The cost was lower than anywhere else nearby which surprised me as the quality is better. It was only a couple of minutes drive to the seafront so this is now my first choice chippy. Highly recommended.

Portion of fish chips way to small there really are no good fish and chip shops in Harwich so dissapointed being a seaside town

i had never been here but gave it a try. i will certainly be returning.a good battered sausage along with a pickled onion and chips was certainly good value. they do battered mars bars too!

Fish and chips go down well at any time and here is just the place to be. Closed only on Sunday and Monday mornings, it is there for lunch and later on for diner and supper. Along with fish there are pies, sausages and even a nice curry. Well worth a stop to top up the energy.

My family drive to Harwich every week because they are so good. Fish is always fresh in crispy golden batter, chips golden brown and delicious. We also regularly have scampi and the chicken curry. My guilty secret is the battered Snickers for £1 but they do Twix and Mars bars too.Lovely people. Recommend you phone your order as they can get very busy.

Golden Fisheries is a chip shop with well cooked food reasonable prices and always served with a smile I have used golden Fisheries now for probably 10 years and have never had a complaint

The worst sausage and chip I’ve ever had .. chips were dry and inedible the sausage was stone cold all the way through will not be getting from there again.

Medium cod and half chips for £4.70 perfect for a pensioner with a limited income fish is excellent batter is crisp freshly prepared and ready in time!! always available within 10 mins of telephone order use weekly my clients love the food.

We enjoyed our fish and chips 3 times over our visit to Harwich. Every piece of fish is cooked to order, and we would recommend it to everyone. It is also good value. They also serve sausages, chicken, pies etc

Another decent chip shop with a more extensive menu and that includes the only place I know in harwich to buy a mars bar in batter, good chips, polite staff, good selection of non chippy items so good for something different

I love the battered mars bars, chicken was good too but chips were not as hot as I would have liked them to be.

Siempre en Golden Pesquerías cuando estamos coger el ferry en Harwich antes de que nos junta. El pescado es tan fresco es wiggling su cola y la pasta es luz y crujientes. Patatas fritas son también muy buenos.
