We've had fish and chips from here on several occasions and were really sad to see the shop is temporarily closed especially as there are no other competitors that offer such friendly service and lovely food. You're missed and we hope you'll be back soon.

Tonight was the 1st time we have eaten fish and chips from here. And wow!!! 10/10 I came in at 5.30pm and ordered 2 large fish and chips for 3 adults was perfect. Service was fantastic the team friendly and chatting together. We will definitely order again 🎉🎉🎉

Bought cheesy chips and scampi. The chips was not cheesy but with melted cheese that was like rubber. Chips not tasty at all. The scampi were raw with some extra surprises in them. The bill was almost £2 more of what was showing on the menu. It was £28 for scampi with cheesy chips, 1 sausage with chips and fish and chips. Everything is paid separately. Service was ok

Been several times over the last few months and have been very pleased with the food cisp ftesh and not greasy. We went last Friday for fish and chips and they weren't as good. Lets hope it's a blip..

Just bought fish cakes, scampi & chips and just got home and checked my receipt, was charged for 3 tartare sauces which I was not asked if were wanted and only have 2 in the bag anyway!!! Now trying to call them and no answer and it rings off the hook !! Shame as the food is really good ! Been back tonight and they offered to refund the overcharge but as I wanted another meal, I said knock it off the cost but I had another meal instead. Despite the 'mishap', the food is the best I have had for a very long time and will always use this shop now - once more, thank you so much for the kindness and the great meal/s.

Five minutes after opening on a Monday, standing room only - I guess a good indicator of the popularity. My cod & chips were very tasty and my kid loved the battered sausage.

After having a disappointing experience with one of the other F&C shops in town , we decided to try this one . The Golden Fish Inn is on Warminster high street and looks inviting from the outside. Once inside I found it to be very clean, airy and well organised. I chose a lunch time collection. The 2 people who served me were extremely friendly. Although 2 other customers in front of me, I didn't have to wait long. The food quality and price are very good . We will return

Really really disappointed after reading good reviews. The chips were over cooked and greasy, the fish was too thin for the batter and I found it to be quite overpriced versus local competitors. It also was a big wait for what we ordered. Unfortunately we will not be returning.

For 3 x running ive had poor quality fish & chips. Thin fish too much batter, chips seemed to be refried. Disappointing standard given they started so well! Come on you can do better, Your easily the best in town.

Very very good food, very friendly with the customers. But had a young man polite but nervous. obviously learning the job who was looking very stressed . More patience needed & kinder words from the man who was cooking. Raised Sharpe voices don't help the situation. Made me feel sorry for the lad x Maybe do a training course. To learn how to teach your staff . One of the best chip shops in warminster. Training plans are good.

Stopped for a quick portion of chips, and the quality was shocking. Chips should be fresh, firm, crisp, hot. Sadly everything bad about the quality was poor: warm, poorly cooked and clearly just left in the warmer area. Worse if all the chips themselves were terrible ‘cut off’ parts not proper whole chips. Don’t waste your money I suggest you go else where.

Scrumpy and generous portions .. be great if they added gluten free batter options

Always always fab Fish n chips! These chips are so good you need not put anything extra on them! Glorious each and every time we visit! You do have to wait a while though, but good things come to those who wait!

Excellent! We have had fish and chips 3 times now and every time has been superb. Good sized portions, enough for the next day too. Lovely crispy chips and fish, not too much batter and not at all greasy. Our new favourite fish and chip shop.

Best fish around, perfectly crispy and very fresh tasting, generous portions, great value, lovely people,

1x small cod (it was larger than small cods in other establishments) 1x steak pie ( was in the warmer but needed more heating. The owner (an oriental gentleman) probed it) and small chips. Quite enough for my mother (77) and myself (57) my only gripe was I had to wait for chips to cook and the crust of the pie was really hard. I sometimes get an upset stomach due to old oil being used. I had no issue with the oil here. I'll definitely be coming again.

I was very disappointed with the food from here. I remembered how lovely it used to be when it was called creme de le cod. Not any more though. The chips looked and tasted like they were the day before leftovers, and re-fried. I will never eat food from here again. ☹️

I’ve been to the Golden Fish Inn multiple times and I have left every time feeling very satisfied. Portions are a great size, the food is fab and is good value for money.

Small portions!!! Very very poor won’t be using again. Also had a fish burger but was soooo tiny we was left still very hungry afterwards. And for portions defo not worth money

shocking food . thought i’d give it a go since the new owners took over . and highly regret my descision , the gentleman who took it over before it was amazing but the new owners have destroyed it . chips where covered in oil , barely drained and tastes like the oil isn’t changed requlary , id give it a miss if i where you .

Second time that I have had a large cod and chips since it reopened and it will be our last! The fish was greasy and the chips were just about warm and looked like that they were left over from lunch time opening! I will now continue to go to the Royal Fish bar that is in my honest opinion.

Used to really enjoy our fish and chips from here recently bought cod and chips chips were cold fish size was very poor unhappy. Will not eat here again.

This place was our saviour while traveling down to Europe on a road trip. Close to some great trails and some.on the nearest ATMs to the bike trails.

Best chip shop in town, as far as we're concerned, and we're tried most of them. Almost everything is cooked to order from scratch, so you might have to wait a bit longer, but it's worth it: dry, crisp chips & thin, crispy batter.

This place does, quite literally, the largest portion of chips I have ever seen. It cost me about £4.50 (ish), and it was the size of a toddler. Food was decent, service was good. Can't complain, in a town that lacks any other decent fish & chip options.

We have had fish and chips here on a number of occasions and have always been quite satisfied. But this evening both portions of fish (small for me and medium for my husband) were full of bones. This completely spoilt our meal. I once had to seek medical attention for a fish bone stuck in my throat so I am very careful with fish. I have never had battered fish full of bones. Regretfully we will not be returning.
