Golden Fish in Calderdale

Was a great Chinese. The new owners have made it even better. Great menu and tasty food.

Edit: If you cannot take cards because of the cost, maybe consider in-house bank transfers like Hiuman do in Hebden Bridge. A LOT better than it was. New owners are doing a great job. Tad more expensive than Hebden Bridge but closer to home. Curry is lovely now. Shop nice and clean. Free prawn crackers for your loyal customers please, like other places do.

This is the best Chinese food you can get locally. Portion sizes are good and the taste and standard of the food is consistent. We really rate this Chinese takeaway.

Just had the most delicious food shared with the family. We had several different mains with a side of mushrooms & sauces. Every dish was so tasty , fresh & different , each with there own unique flavour. One of my favourites was Singapore vermicelli , cooked to perfection, the best taste ever. I Love a side of mushrooms they were Devine, they were all Devine. Lovely service over the phone , so helpful with my order. Happy to help with my queries on the various different meals. Worth every penny, I cannot recommend enough.

Recently re-opened. The food is delicious. Really tasty and cooked in an immaculate kitchen. Great to be able to see into the kitchen and it not to be hidden away like before. Great improvements! Beautiful food! Will for sure recommend!

Recently reopened. The curry sauce is a lot nicer than previous. Big gripe: When buying a main meal, you are still expected to pay full price for chips, rice and noodles. Other places charge a reduced rate with a main meal, eg, 80p for chips or £1.60 for noodles. Here is full price which means the same meal I get elsewhere costs £5 more at Golden Fish/ManhLey which means HiuMan in Hebden Bridge will still have my custom because £5 extra is a lot of money these days. Change that and you’ll get my custom back.

Closed not only Monday and Tuesday but more holidays than Judith charmers month at a time very bizarre way to run only Chinese takeaway in the village. When it is open the smell of stale frying oil is over powering from back of building near carpark. And prices are getting to much sorry golden fish but I won't be back .

Fast cheap and good food can’t say much better than that

Friendly staff and excellent food well worth a visit

Brilliant food every time, very nice people.

We are visitors to the area in our touring caravan and decided to try the local Chinese takeaway. We had chicken chop suey, King prawns with ginger and spring onions and plain boiled rice. The food was exceptional, no sign of MSG, all the veg was fresh and cooked to perfection and the king prawns and chicken were beautiful. We will definitely call again when next in the area.

Excellent take away. We drive miles from home town to collect as they are best around. Superb food!

Slow service and they always miss something from you order. Food quality is OK, but not really worth the wait.

Good fried rice. The salt and pepper chicken is also excellent.
