Awful. Ordered takeaway on a Sunday lunch time. Worst chinese ever received. Meat is cheap and everything fried in old oil. Waste of £95 that went in to bin.

Went here for my birthday celebration in 2023 and the food was incredible, a little over my price range but great tasting food.

food was disgusting very old food not fresh I can't believe thus as it's never been so bad

Asked for no Veg and both dishes were full of them. rice normally has sauce and today it was very dry.

Unfortunately very disappointing, rice had to be ordered separately at £4. The pancakes were made from wantan batter, the duck from something dried and chopped, red curry far too spicy and the drinks far too expensive. Not recommended.

I have ordered takeaway from Golden Empire twice in the last month and I have really enjoyed the food. plenty of options available which is great. What I ordered - Singapore rice noodles (Very good) - Salt & chili chicken wings - Salt & Chili pork ribs - Crispy lamb with pancakes - Tom Yum soups (very good) I haven't dined in, so I haven't scored atmosphere. Please continue to make great food. Thank you

I ordered it from Ubereat. It was really scary at first just looking at Google reviews, but when I received the beef brisket, it tasted good and the portion was sufficient. The store’s own delivery person was also very kind. I placed the order and didn’t wait too long until I got it. Long. Maybe it’s just luck, because it’s really not as bad as I thought 😅

The food was really great and hot and the delivery was super fast, although the noodles were on the dry end and could have been saucier/ less dry so maybe you can look into that for next time! Thanks

Sticky consistency of green curry. Cold food. Tasteless and hard sweet and sour chicken. No re orders from here.

Sichuan actually had sichuan pepper corns in it?! It had a nice mala taste. Definitely improved since we last bought from here. :)

I ordered Singapore noodles and left specifly not spicy but it was very spicy for me.

Brilliant food, big portions and a great taste will definitely be ordering again.

How is this mixed seafood vermicelli… Even after the error you made, you went ahead to give me what I did not order Plus no gravy, just plain noodles That’s so unfair honestly

The worst Chinese I’ve ever ordered. I paid a tenner for chicken balls and they gave me 5, bbq ribs had no meat on them at all, the rice was gooey and tasted horrendous. Please don’t waste your money.

the food was so tasty. it is a wee bit expensive for us for a takeaway so probably only be able to have when catching a 20% off offer but if you have the cash I'd go for it.

We order from here quite a bit and while the tofu and chicken were great, the noodles this time were very dry and tasted stale. The noodles were lacking flavour and it’s a shame because they were lacking a bit the last time we ordered as well. Hopefully you can look into this because we would love to order again but really disappointed about the noodles, they’re usually really good

Never receive my order from ended up falling asleep nothing came no one tried knocking

Turnt up 1 hour and half late it was cold rice was clumpy chicken balls were cold and noodles were stone cold

Nearly a full egg shell in 5 pieces in my egg fried rice very disappointed

The rice was rather dry and felt old. It’s a shame as it’s not the first time a place the same order and previous orders were alright.

Food took a while to get to us but called the restaurant and was told it was because driver had a lot of deliveries. However, food was still warm and all very tasty, I was actually quite surprised by the quality for the price! spring rolls were a bit soggy but I put that down to the delivery time, chicken satay was AMAZING! I could have eaten just those! But everything else great! Will definitely order again.

Always great food, many years ago I ordered and it wasn’t so great. But then I ordered from them again, maybe a new chef not sure but the food was perfect. Now I struggle to order from anywhere else. Usually we get soup and some Dim sum but this time was in the mood to try new things and was not disappointed. I ordered the Automatics crispy duck (duck was perfect, all of it was perfect!), Sweet and sour prawn balls (usually get pork, this is a new favorite!), Twice cooked pork belly - so good!!!, stewed lamb belly - amazing! Wonton soup - beautifully subtle flavours love this soup forever! And a few other bits my hubby chose. Overall 10/10, I’m satisfied!

The worst I've ever had, the last orders have been wrong or kissing items and today wow the food was horrible I asked for no onion and the noodles and chicken to be plain and I get bean shoots and leek that's not plain, and the Hong king style chicken tasted funny very vinegary. I don't no who's currently running it but I will not be back. Order at your own risk honestly was terrible.

No wonder u close at 9.30 every night now your driving your customers away! And obviously your chefs too! Food today was the worst I've had in 15 years of using this place and was stone cold too! I'm 2 miles away 4 minutes drive max and u must of cooked the food 15 minutes before the driver got there for sure, and ur using containers 1/3 smaller than every other takeaway in the country right now!!! Normally the salt and pepper ribs are spicy they wasn’t today also they were a bit over cooked which was a bit disappointing

My young Son told me he wanted to try Miso Soup. I found it on the menu, on line. I went into the restaurant to get some and was told (by a Woman, about 45 years or so) 'This is a Chinese restaurant, not Japanese'. How do you not know what is on your own menu? (It's No.35, on the menu displayed in your own window). And why is it acceptable to speak to a potentially new (and loyal) customer in this manner? Very poor. I shall spend my money elsewhere where there is good manners. EDITED TO ADD: Oh dear. The owner has replied. Sadly they didn't read my review properly as they would have noticed that I said 'I went into the restaurant'. I didn't telephone at all, therefore there is no phone record to listen to and their comment is a complete fabrication. You're doing yourself no favours, my friend.

just an acute observation ------ smaller portions and higher prices ---- for a single person i used to be able to make 2 meals for what i was charged £14.10 -- there was just enough for 1 meal.

I've had good and bad from this restaurant. Tonight was bad. The garlic and mushroom pork had no mushrooms, the pork was overcooked and hard. The chicken dish had minimal chicken and loads of onions as filler. They can do good food just not always. Not sure I will be ordering again

Worst Chinese I ever had - pancake roll was dripping with grease n as flat as a pancake the peppers n onions were warm but not really cooked used to love this place but for nearly £50 I will never eat there again

My friend really enjoyed the soup and the other items ordered. Thank you. A pity you don't sell halal meats and have a certificate for it. Chefs cooking is really nice. It's a shame my friend has to stick to veg and prawn options only. THANKS AGAIN FOR READING THE NOTES.. She's feeling much better with the soups and sliced chilies. Mel x

Food not hot, chicken buns were hard. Yellow bean sauce was just odd and very runny. Not impressed with the whole meal, have used this restaurant before quite successfully, but this was not at all good. Very disappointed in taste and quality.

They forgot one of my dishes and when i phoned they almost didn believe me and then just said they were close to closing so wouldnt send them

The food quality was just not up to scratch this time. Not sure what happened but I don't think I'll be ordering from here again. It's the second time I've had an average order.

It may take a while to have your order taken but when it arrives, it is sooo worth it! amazing food! and you know this place is worth a trip because it is full of chinese people that live locally! such a find, will definitely return .. from what we saw, there was no advantage to pre-ordering if you have a limited timed lunchbreak as they are very popular with the local Just Eats / Uber Eats!

Entire container full of oil, it was so oily it went in the bin, absolutely gross. Also.. l ordered large. It was a smaller than average chow mein size.

We have always enhoyed the food here but this time the crispy duck was dry as were the pancakes and the hoisin sauce was missing. Everything else was lovely as it usually is.

Great quality food, perfect for my comfort night in.

Items where missing and had to call the restaurant who then did send on the missing items. We had to wait twice as long and then food was cold. Sweet and sour was a gell and not liquid. Food was OK. There was no offer of discount or food as an apology. This took away the enjoyment of a takeaway night from us.

For £6.50 I expect full dish of beansprouts that cost 50p to buy, I spend £36 pound and no prawn crackers, if I bought crackers you send me free bag as well I spend 15 sometimes and get crackers spend 18 Get 2 crackers spend 36 no crackers, you confused??? Me too!!!!

Hour went by, called the restaurant to find out if the order was on its way.. the guy said 10-15 mins another 25 mins went by called again and the guy answered again who was very rude and put the phone down and did not answer my calls again.

Ordered from Uber eats from this “restaurant” the food was unacceptable by any standards, I’ve had a few bad Chinese in my lifetime, But this Tops it , I did call the restaurant, not for compensation or another order, but to see what actually went wrong. How was it that everything that was delivered? Was so bad how did they let it out? Their response was everyone has their own opinions on taste. Maybe chef was having a bad night

Ordered for myself and partner 2 beef in black bean sauce and veg chow mein was just oil no actual sauce just oil completely inedible and everything needed to go into the bin

Good quality and selection. I would frequent this place for lunch when I worked in the area.

Food was good. The only downfall was the pancakes for the 1/4 Duck, which in my opinion as a chef myself, had been in the microwave a tad to long and were overbaked, leathery and un-edible which then ruined this dish completely...we were then left just eating the duck with no pancakes. Ordered a few times from here now and usually always fairly good, I normally wouldn't mention or complain, as I said I'm a chef myself, I know things happen etc but if you pay a premium price everything needs to be good sadly the pancakes were not.

I was not happy with the food, I’ve ordered from here a lot. But this time the food tasted old, my ribs were hard and dry with hardly any meat on them. Same with the beef chow mein had a weird taste I couldn’t eat it! The popcorn chicken n chips were okay. And the Hong Kong chicken was mushy. Was very disappointed as we was hungry and couldn’t eat a lot of it and just a waste of money!

Not enough dip came for the gyozas and the chicken skewers were over cooked/dry - sauce wasn’t great.

Bland food. Very bland. Washed out taste.
