So good i love it the foods great the service is amazing.

10 out of 10 me and my partner order from here alot and it never disappoints. We get the £17 box and because we don't like chicken wings we ask to swap for extra spare ribs instead and they do it. Very friendly And the food is beautiful.

Went for the first time got the £16 pizza box meal omg it was fantastic will definitely be going back again soon 100% satisfied

Recently a new customer to golden dragon. The portion sizes were decent and all the food was nice. I ordered salt and pepper chips, chicken balls with sweet and sour sauce, and the duck spring rolls which also came with a sauce.

A wonderful local family run business, I can't rate them highly enough. Brilliant food for a really good price. The staff are so kind and friendly, one even chased us down the road as we had forgotten our drinks (which was my fault!). I will 100% be ordering again soon, thankyou!

Normally love this chinese but don't think the chicken was cooked properly and did end up with food poisoning won't be ordering again.

Ordered takeaway at 6.17pm,order said,45mins for delivery,that time passed,rang up the takeaway "said that it already has been sent at 7.15pm,to the wrong address,there then said "will be there at yours in few minutes" it finally turned up at,8pm,then realised something was missing,again I rang the takeaway,told them I was missing am item there claimed "it was in the bag" It definitely wasn't,there sent the missing item out,the food was cold and missing items,DEFINITELY NOT USING THIS TAKEAWAY AGAIN Update on the shambolic takeaway from golden dragon,the manager saw my Google review and Facebook,the said " there was very sorry about about happened and if I order again,we will get something free" I said "no" 2 mins later there rang back again and asked "if I could take review and comment off I will get something free if order again" I said "no I will make a deal with you,give me a refund and I will take it down" there said "no we can't do that" so I guess the review and comment is staying where everyone can see it

Got box A & B for the family & we all loved it. Was sad when we finished it all haha.

Don't normally do reviews but felt the need to. Just ordered for the first time in a few years and have to say the food is outstanding. Best Chinese I've had in a long long time . Delivery man was also very nice. I'll be ordering again cheers guys

Best food honestly can’t beat it

The worst Chinese meal ever pure gloop . When did we start accepting sub standard food . I can’t believe there are any good reviews. Inedible and disgusting. You obviously don’t try your own food ??

I wish I could give 0 stars, the Thai green chicken and beef curry were not edible, both meats were of a slimmy consistency, onions, carrot and mushrooms in the Thai green sauce, too too much msg used in both dishes, no flavour gloop which was meant to be the sauces. Called the shop they said they couldn't issue refunds so we had to go through food hub to get our refund. Please do not waste your money or time ordering from Golden Dragon.

Most of the food was good but the crispy duck was poor.

My previous review stated it was consistently good (for 20+ years) then occasional mistakes since being ran by new management. I have noticed an improvement in recent months as it went through a period if declining quality. I do find it one of the better Chinese restaurants (There are 4 closer to me and I literally drive past 3 on the way!) and consistency has improved. To their credit I always have a fussy order asking for meals without specific ingredients or things changing and they always accommodate (I regularly order stir fry broccoli when it's not even on the menu!). My main criticism as of late, other than the excessive number of price increases in recent years, is many of the dishes get "gloopy" very quickly the second they are on the plate. Seems to be an over use of a gum thickening agent possibly to make the stock go further? Been more noticeable in the gravy based dishes and recently the OK sauce dishes. Also, ordering over the phone seems to be cheaper and results in freebies not given with online orders. From experience cooking times given on the phone are not accurate and your order will be cooked when you arrive. Review based on collection - would be less for delivery. Drivers can be seen with 2-3 (or more) orders and if you are last expect cold sweaty food.

Ordered at 22:29. Said would be 10-40 minutes. Arrived 40 minutes later with wrong order. Spoiled our Saturday night & were charged more than menu prices !

Best chinese food in Halifax, won't order from anywhere else.

By far the best Chinese around, great food and great service, always top notch!

Came really quick and the food was really really nice,love it and thankyou, the lady was really nice on the phone and they picked rather quickly.

Ordered food on the phone and told them I was gonna come pick it up.When I arrived they told there was no more rice and that they gave my food to someone else because he ordered more things than me so rather than call me back I walked about 15-20 mins for nothing.

Ave price £5.60 for a main (chips & rice £2 each are charged seperately, but serves two). Good quality and quick service.

Been ordering from here for years, now all of a sudden they say we’re out of the ordering distance (we aren’t) and really don’t give a stuff they’ve lost our custom. Considering the food isn’t that good, I’m surprised they can be soo lapse with their customer relations.

Absolutely love the food, by far the best Chinese in Calderdale, The menu and online ordering system is very professional and easy to navigate, if you don't like to order online you can order in the store or via the phone. We wont use anywhere else. Delivery or Collection available. Never had and problems when we ordered a very big order because we had friends over the wait time was minimal and our friends complimented the food too.

Gorgeous food. The starters are amazing, especially the satay chicken skewers which come with the most delicious satay dipping sauce. Mains also fab, always fresh, tasty and cooked to perfection.

Oh dear! This has been a good takeaway for such a long time. But something has changed?? Forty pounds worth of food ready in 10 min’s. Food was bland and obviously microwave heated. Bad experience starts on entry. Scruffy and unclean. Never going back again..

Easy to order and pay online. Our food arrived piping hot and bang on time, and the delivery driver was lovely. Generous portions that were tasty and fresh. Would definitely recommend.

(Old post Have been a good customer for ages, the food is great but now they won't deliver to me as we live further the 2 miles away. We actually live 1.8 mile away. Tried to call them and woman on the phone was very rude.)

My favourite Chinese takeaway! Tried a few different ones but they’re never as good as The New Golden Dragon. We order once a week and it’s always lovely food and a fab service. Delivery drivers are always friendly too. Highly recommend!

OMG just had a lovely meal from these. Everything was tasty, great value for money, not waiting an hour for delivery. What more do you want for a friday night. Will defo order again.

Been a good customer for many years ,after been spoken to so rudely upon trying to place an order was disgusting. Telling people to common and hurry, then being told to wait and having a conversation with someone else. Very disappointed !!!

Incredibly rude people on the phone. After being told to wait whilst they talk to each other for 2 minutes, the first tine I was allowed to speak I was told to "hurry" when placing my order. When I questioned the sales tactic they repeated the "hurry" statement again. I get it's Saturday night and they're busy but manners don't cost anything and they've lost my business from now on.

Beware guys just taken delivery of a meal from the Golden Dragon Gibbet Street Halifax. Delivery was short of childrens chicken nugget meal. So husband rang and politely explained that the order was missing a child's chicken nugget meal. The lady with a Chinese accent was ranting and saying that the meal had been delivered and would not accept that the order was short of this child's meal. Call was terminated by husband as she would not concede that she was wrong and we have to accept that we have just been ripped off. It's not the money it's the principal. Sorry for rant just feeling angry and ripped off.

Now called New Golden Dragon. The food from this takeaway is excellent, good portion sizes. Always fresh and hot and always delivered within timeslot.

Some people say price increase has made them less competative but we have yet to find a chinese in the area with consistently good food (have you tasted some of the lower priced takeaways!!!!). Ok everyone makes mistakes once in a while but that's how to improve on service. 5*

Can't fault this place, food always beautiful. Loads of king prawns in king prawn fried rice. I haven't found a better Chinese. Really pleasant on the phone also. Recommended 👍

Worst Chinese I have ever had in my life, took more than two hours to get to us then the food was cold and dry, stay away from this place it's unacceptable how poor the food and service is, we tried birds nest that's just in King cross and it was beautiful, came piping hot and spot on time and the food was amazing

Will not be using this Take Away again. Driver arrived with food and charged me £2.00 extra, missing the 1.5L bottle of Coke and despite asking for no onions, there were onions in the order. When I rung the Golden Dragon to tell them, they wouldn't listen and hung up on me. Stick your two quid and your 1.5L bottle of Coke, you've lost a repeat customer. I understand mistakes happen, but being rude isn't an accident.

We have ordered takeaways from the Golden Dragon a few times, consistent with good food, quick delivery, food always hot and well packaged. The delivery guy and the guy who has taken my order are both friendly and polite. Can't fault it. Fab!

We found the food to be very good

Disgusting attitude toward customers, had an issue with delivery being booked for 9.10 and arriving at 8.20! The 'manager' just literally said "well just go somewhere else then bro" and put the phone down. Choose somewhere with better quality food and manners. Convenience obviously doesn't pay with appalling people who to talk to their customers like that.

Tried to order online and was refused delivery. The just eat page states they deliver here and they have before. my partner usually collects from here at least once a week. (and has for the last few years) we have spent a fortune here to the tune of £80+ per month. Terrible service. We Won't go again.
