Golden Dragon in Cheshire West and Chester

Really disappointed to find that when you order a meal, boiled rice isn’t included! You have to pay extra, already put the prices up a lot, to now add the price of rice to a meal, just feels wrong! Will be looking elsewhere now!

Disappointing- told food would be 20 mins, by the time we got take out it was nearer an hour. One server having to do everything, clearly understaffed and what is it with cash only?

Salt and pepper box is fabulous👌box is full and everything in it tastes great. Would definitely have again and it is great value

How this place gets an average 4.5 is beyond me! The Special Fried Rice was brown and looked like it’d been recycled from the previous day. The Chow Mein tasted okay but looked really unappetising. The curry was passable and very mild and the prawn ‘balls’ were just prawns covered in fish batter and fried they tasted fowl. It wasn’t too expensive and we ate half of it as we were famished, but I wouldn’t recommend this place for the Chinese food.

I can’t comment on their fish and chips, but do not bother with their Chinese. The meals were watery and the meat was - chicken was very chewy, beef was jelly like and slimy. PLEASE ORDER FROM ANOTHER CHINESE

Food is 10/10 Prices are 10/10 and the staff is so friendly and lovely especially 100% reccomend

Honestly, the best local Chinese/chippy I have ever tried. And the people working there are always nice and friendly! Food is super tasty and portions big enough to make you comfortably full!

Tasty food here served with a smile. We just enjoyed fish and chips and chicken breast, chips and curry. Can't complain about the prices and easy parking too What's not to like? :-)

Nice guys. Food is okay but I’m not a nerd re Chinese food, Best chips by miles for miles. Evidently twice-fried so crispy and tasty. One review on here moaning about the chips. Jokers.

Chips were refried, greasy hard in the middle, fish was dry with unpleasant batter, curry sauce was grey and bland. Through it away, it was awful. Wish I'd taken photos of fish and sauce. Wish I could give no stars..

I usually use Vicki Rd (saltney)but when I had fish from golden dragon I've not had fish from elsewhere truly delicious and excellent service

Undoubtedly the best Chinese takeaway in Chester. Lovely food, lovely people. My only qualms would be that they don't deliver nor accept card, but that's fine, it doesn't detract from the taste. 5 Stars!

Always polite and great value Rushed off their feet New Year's eve, but still smiling and courteous.

Must be the only Chinese take away that doesn’t dump loads of salt and sugar in the dishes. Really busy when I went in and with good reason. Great scran!

Large portions. Great tasting food. Very friendly staff. My favourite is chicken foo Yung but I have tried many different dishes from the menu. my daughter, who is vegetarian, enjoys vegetable dishes particularly cashunuts. Excellent value.

Never been disappointed with the food from Golden Dragon, chips are fab and not greasy and the wife loves the egg fried rice. A couple reviews on here seem to be written by idiots who have one not so great meal after plenty of good ones it would appear, then decide to leave a review give a 1 or 2 score...... Makes no sense to do that. Its a five from me. Fantastic friendly staff, great value(as in cheap!) alway fresh and hot.

Good fish and chips, although I'd recommend getting a small chips unless you're really hungry. It's not very clear, but if you've placed a telephone order, make sure you let them know you've arrived.

Always great - fab chips and the fish is fresh with lovely batter.

Visited this chippy many times. Food is always well prepared and delicious.

The food is delicious and simply amazing. It is the most humane food I have ever eaten in any Chinese restaurant. But fried rice and fried noodles personally feel that they are not enough. They have a feeling that they are not fried. I do n’t know how to say that. They always give people a taste that is not hot. I hope they can improve it! Golden Dragon can become a local symbol with Chinese characteristics!

Excellent food, fresh and tasty. Special fried rice is a must. Portions are huge with lots of meat, teenager cant get enough.

High quality food combined with efficient and friendly service time and time again . The lady who controls the orders / payments is amazing keep up the good work !

Far better Fish & Chips than some of the 'award-winning' local and regional emporiums. The food is freshly cooked to perfection and hot. A little gem on our door step.

Tasty enjoyable take away on the outskirts of Chester. The meal was flavoursome, plenty of meat in the dishes. Be prepared for quite a wait as it is busy (best calling the order through). Only just missed a 5*, will certainly return.

Best Chinese take away in Chester area. The food is always cooked to perfection and piping hot. Prices are reasonable too. This shop is always spotlessly clean, which can only instill confidence in buying your food from there. Special with Kin Do sauce is to die for!

I have to say read the review and decided to try out, surprisingly lovely staff and warm reception on 2 occasions I was there. Had only the house special fried rice and it is one of the best I have tasted from a takeaway.

I totaly agree with the previous reviews it WAS great but it has now changed hands and after a couple of visits and even a chat to discuss what was expected locally, i fear to have to pist that its now far from the heady hights as described earlier. Tasteless, runny, and full of carrots. Sorry but you will have to better for my business

Well I ordered chicken with black bean sauce and green peppers and chilli garlic chicken and some spare ribs. The food was superb, nice crunchy vegetables, tender chicken and the ribs were spot on. Best Chinese take away Ive had for many a year. Well done folks, glad we,ve got you here in Westminster Park Ian Casey

Very disappointed this week, been coming to this Chinese for years but unfortunately my husbands meal wasn't up to usual standard . It's been closed because of chefs illness. We are wondering if they have a new chef ?

Great food, the portions are large and they do good quick service.

Really tasty food and great portion size. Also really really quick which was great as we were starving. Only marked down because the food was slightly luke warm, but not a massive issue.

The ingredients are great quality, the portions are generous as are the main ingredients, such as prawns. I've only ever experienced tasty food and great service.

Order from here most Fridays and the food is always excellent. The delivery time is a bit rubbish, they always add 20minutes for some reason but the food is worth the wait.

Easy to order, told us it would be delivered about 10:05 but got it at half 9 so quite quick. Very happy

Ordered food for 18.00, it never arrived. Evidently a phone call came in at 19.04, but by then i had gone out. Not the best service i have ever had!!

Always excellent, we're weekly customers. Just one thing... Every time we order Bean Curd with Mixed Veg, we get Bean Curd with Black Bean sauce. I don't know if there's an issue on the Just Eat menu and what comes through to you, but thought I'd mention it. Both are equally wonderful :)

My order was marked as ASAP 6:25pm and it arrived at 6pm. Normally would be good but in this case I had to eat nearly cold Chinese, despite this it was pretty good quality and I would order here again

The food took two hours to arrive and the food wasn't particularly good. Had quite a few fatty bits of chicken and it was quite cold.

I had to ring as food was over half an hour late the guy on the phone was no help he couldn't even understand what I was saying
