We had takeaway from the golden dragon Hartley last night, only reason we decided to try was because the two in Longfield are awful and being Tuesday Meopham was closed. The food was piping hot and ready on time which was re assuring after the many bad reviews on trip advisor for long waits. The food for us was perfectly edible but that’s about it, was lacking flavour and the usual quality we are used to and we probably wouldn’t return By far we have had worse but just not nice enough to make us think about returning One positive was the decent size of the satay chicken portion, the sauce was a little gooey but they tasted ok Chow Mein bland with a bit of an after kick Sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style lacking flavour Singapore rice noodles need a lot more flavour and spice

We always order from this Chinese takeaway. Always order the o’derves to start but ask to swap the pork ribs for one extra satay chicken as we are a Muslim family. This has never been a problem. When you ring up, there is a message that says if you have dietary requirements, please state which we did. The woman who was taking our order stated she can’t swap anymore as she’s not allowed! Terrible service! Won’t be ordering from there again until they learn to respect others religious beliefs. We wasn’t asking to swap some ribs for a whole duck!!

Worst Chinese I have ever had, the chicken sweet and sour tasted like the chicken was deepfried in the fat fryer. Not only expensive but the food is disgusting I would not recommend it to my worst enemy. Best advise order elsewhere

Staying in New Ash Green for weekend visiting friends. Ordered a few different dishes from a lovely varied menu. The Shredded chilli beef was delicious! The Singapore Chow Mein was full of flavour & Sweet n Sour Chicken HK style was sticky & sweet tasted amazing. Special fried rice was so fluffy & the Butterfly Prawn crispy & delicious. Would definitely recommend. The Chef does a great job! It's a shame we live in Hampshire would love this Chinese on our doorstep 😊

Finally lost patience , we’ve been ordering for years , nice food but just become fed up with the service. On numerous occasions we’ve booked hours in advance to make sure the food turns up on time for family events. Order at 6 for 8 and it still turns up much later , Peter what is your problem why won’t you do anything to rectify the problem, you’ve lost our business and I believe you’ll lose lots more, we’ve spent fortunes with you but I believe because of your lack of customer care it will eventually catch up with you I will make it my goal to inform as many people as possible to avoid your restaurant

Placed an order at 6pm on a Tuesday, finally arrived at 8.20pm, an hour after the quoted time. The food was piping hot and most of it was very tasty though. However the wontons were awful, basically just pastry and no filling and the chicken in the Thai curry was gelatinous and didn't taste fresh. Due to the wait I probably won't order again.

Had c Pizza from here last night. Must say best tasting pizza I have had for ages. Had a Chinese chicken one which had lots of topping on it and it was really tasty. Will be ordering again

So we have ordered from here for around 6 months have always had to wait for food I'm talking 2 hours for collection or delivery, never the less was lovely food so we didn't mind. Ordered here on new year's eve at 4 was given a 9 o clock time so 5 hours fair enough was new years. 9 o clock came and went called them they said 20 mins another hour went by we called they said was going to be an hour anyway we got our food at 11.30 after arguing with a very rude person named jordon on the phone. We forgot all that as it was new years and they had taken to many pre orders gave us a partial refund and the manager apologised Just called to order tonight somebody answered the phone eventually I was placing my order and asked if they could do a veg all in 1 meal box as they only offer meat options I literally wanted half a box of veg and half a box of rice didn't even mind paying the price for the same as meat 7.80 but he said the chef said he would do it for an extra 2 pound surcharge meaning I would pay £9.00 for something that would cost a fraction of the original price. Baring in mind it does say on the website you an add changes to the menus. They were very rude and were clearly being difficult we cancelled the whole order and will not use them again, alot of people I think feel the same. Shame such good food but met with awful customer service and huge waits as they take on far too much!

Phoned at 515 told approx 1.5 hrs delivery time, now 2.5 hours still waiting and told approx another 20 mins - not even a mile down the road absolutely disgusting

Have been ordering from here for a good few years and have never had a bad meal. However, over the last few months, it has regularly been late. We are told 1 to 1/1/2 hrs and it arrives late - over 2hrs. I think the time has come to go elsewhere, unless they can do better.

We called to pre book for new years eve at 1pm and got told we couldn't, even though other people had done just before we called. We then got told to call at 5 and place the order and delivery would be 6-6:30. We then called back at 5 to be told that delivery would now be 8 and that we should of called to book a slot as the last slots had just gone, which is different to what we got told when called much earlier. Very disappointed in the customer service received. Don't get me wrong the food is great but we quiet often get poor service.

In all the 8yrs I have been ordering from these guys (and I promise you its regularly) I have had ONE bad bad meal from them, which was some odd temporary chef once, BUT counting the near million meals I have had from them, It is no exaggeration to say it is the best you can and will get. You may have had equal, but you haven't had better. Any that say otherwise have just had some negative off experience they are going OTT about. I have eaten chinese food all over the place for 30yrs and this is one I am blessed to have had as my local after moving. The Beef in the beef curry will turn you into an addict, the fried rice is so good ill sell my dog for it and the sweet and sour chicken HK style I will sell my mother for soon after. With so many restaurants to choose from the Golden Dragon is a good choice not just from their daily Dim Sum but their a la carte menu. The Peking duck and char siu and cooked meats are well prepared and a good selection of fresh fish and vegetables to choose from. Busy so do book

Have had numerous takeaways from this venue, you are informed how long a delivered meal may take, and the timing is pretty good. As for the quality of the meal, probably the best Chinese food I have tasted without going to China. The food always arrives hot and is well worth waiting for. Was told when I ordered that delivery would be 45minutes, after 1 1/2 hrs I called to see status and lady was very rude and said it wasn't her problem delivery was so late, food arrived 10 minutes after that and again no apology was given regarding the delay, unfortunately of the £50 of food ordered only prawn crackers were edible as food was cold and chicken and squid dishes were all hard, most dissapointing Chinese meal we have ever had.

Haven’t tried this takeaway for a few years but tonight we fancied Chinese. Imagine my shock when they refused to take my order! Apparently we have refused to accept food in the past. However, whenever I have ordered food from here I always pay over the phone by card before delivery. So why would I refuse food I’ve paid for??So I then say ok I will pay now by card and collect instead of delivery and then I can sort out this misunderstanding when I come in for my food, but they still refused to accept my business.I’ve asked for the manager/owner to call me back so I can discuss further but I’m not holding my breath!!!

We had a takeaway delivery on Saturday and the food absolutely lovely, not greasy and really flavoursome, delivery can take time but we were told this when we rang, but well worth the wait.

extensive choice of oriental food. never had a bad meal or food from this takeway restaurant. the owner is friendly kind and helpful as are his staff.

1st time we tried the golden dragon and must say it was great, got a deliver to fairseat and turned up within 30mins , mind you this was only yesterday ie on tuesday but it couldnt be better. man on the phone was great as was the bloke who brought it to us. cant wait to try again.great that we now have a chinese that delivers to our area . hope they do well.

Pros: Food is pretty good if you know what to order and what to avoid, appetizers are usually great, crispy duck is good, generous portions all round, great for sharing, mostly friendly staff but a couple are a little moody, pricing is pretty standard for chinese delivery, good variety in the menu.Cons: Delivery times are usually much longer than expected*, some menu items are a bit underwhelming, their chow mein dishes have recently gone down hill a bit.It's a solid 3.5. if you are ordering a delivery add an extra half hour to what they say it will be, or just order in advance. sometimes they might surprise you with speed but generally they take a good hour and a half.

The best place to get Chinese food. 5 star! We haven't eaten in since the new changes but the take away food is amazing. When you do eat in we recommend the sizzling dishes.

Estoy absolutamente sorprendido por tener que escribir esta crítica. Normalmente genial llevar pero en 25 / 2 esperamos más de 3 horas para un pedido de 30 libras. Luego, cuando llegó, estaba equivocado. El hombre me dijo: de brindar "lo siento pero tuvimos un orden en más de 100 libras 'bien lo siento, no es mi problema! He pedido la mayoría de los fines de semana y puede tener hasta 50 libras/60 libras. Como cliente habitual, esperar más de 3 horas para obtener un orden incorrecto es vergonzoso. Yo siempre pagar por anticipado por teléfono, así que ni siquiera llamar para cancelar sin ser del bolsillo. Totalmente horrorizados por esta falta de servicio para clientes habituales, bien pagando que nuestra orden normal de sábado por la noche no ocurrió esta semana.

Esta noche me dan este. Hemos tenido una comida para llevar un número de veces desde aquí. Normalmente como con la mayoría de llevar el tiempo estándar que dan es de 45 minutos. No esta noche. Después puse mi pedido y pagado me dijeron 1 hora 45 a 2 horas de espera (realmente? ). No. Realmente no porque tardamos casi 3 horas. A la espera de una llamada del director. Aparentemente tenían un pedido de 85. Sin duda que es una de las ETS. Si no daban abasto no continúen dando las órdenes.

Stayed at an AirBNB last night near this resturant and our hosts asked if we would like to have dinner with them. We ordered takeaway and it was absolutly amazing. Really good food, generous portions, lots of options and fairly fast delivery. Would do again.

Takeaway delivered to Istead Rise in about 30 mins. Standard of meats, noodles and rice is better than any of the Meopham Chinese Restaurants, in my opinion.Food taste and quality rivals some of the top restaurants in Gravesend town.I was a bit hesitant at first with some of the previous negative reviews about their experiences in store, but honestly the food tastes great and had no problems with delivery on a Sunday evening.

This place has changed. Such a same. Arrived early evening, un booked - the original door has now moved to the pub door. Upon trecking through the pub into the restaurant, signs welcome saying only booked customers. After entering anyway, we were seated to a table, one of only 4 or 5 in the place now - right on top of the counter - to then be told they also don't serve drinks and you must buy from the bar next door with cash. Sorry, but no. If you're not up for being a restaurant just focus on the takeaway. Decided to walk and went taste of China in Longfield instead - much better - now our new family Chinese place.

The food here is great, but stick to takeaways. The phone doesn't stop ringing and take precedence over the restaraunt.We dined in as a party of 6, we were the only people there. The drinks come from the pub out front, and the waiter brought each drink to the table, one at a time with his spare arm folded behind his back, like he was serving Royalty at the Savoy. Thanks for the effort mate, but we're having a Birthday meal and we'd all like to drink together. Once we got the final drink to the table, the first drink was now an empty glass, and we had the whole routine all over again.Tip No1, Get a drinks tray.Eating had pretty much the same issue, each dish was made separately and brought to the table as it was ready, as we had ordered lots of dishes for all to share, this didn't work, mainly because once we had the final dish, the other 10 dishes were cold.Tip No2, Get a hostess trolly, like they use at the Spice Village.One other thing to note, eating in the restaurant, the dishes are a lot dearer than the home delivery dishes, and the portion sizes are much smaller.I gave this place a 3 of 5 rating for the above reasons, those things indicated, the food in the Golden Dragon is actually spot on, the taste and quality of the food is out of this world. Just don't bother turning up, eat at home, they deliver free to local addresses.

Always use this as my 'go to' chinese take out. food is always really nice and is still hot when it gets to the door! Great variety of food to choose from. I am yet to eat in the restaurant but the takeaway is great. would recommend to anyone in the local area.

I have had many takeaways from The Golden Dragon the food is nice and tasty. The only slight complaint is in busy times the food delivery can take a long time!

Ordered a takeaway delivery for four people which arrived within good time. There's a very good extensive menu and the gentleman I spoke to when ordering was very polite and professional. The food was delicious! All four of us were very impressed. Quite pricey though.

Always go here for our Chinese,food is good,staff are always helpful in explaining what types of food they have,what it is etc.Had it delivered with no problems.Would suggest to anyone to try it.

Went here for my friends birthday a few weeks back, needless to say the service was awful. It took over 2 hours for our mains to come out and for the price we paid for each meal the portions were tiny compared to what we'd get if we ordered a takeaway. so be warned it s awful

Visited this restaurant on Sunday evening whilst staying in Kent. In a group of six and, for most of the evening, the only party in the restaurant. Service was dreadful. My starter arrived a good 5 minutes before anything else. Four more followed and then my husband waited about 10 minutes for his. Most of the main courses arrived together, apart from one dish that came almost when we had finished our meal. Final straw however, was when my husband visited the gent's toilet. He said it was the worst he had ever been in and he is 67 years old! He could not bring himself to describe the pipes around the urinal, but said there were serious maintenance issues like the tiles hanging off the wall. Sounds as though a health and hygiene inspection is required here.

This place has great food but shocking customer service. Ordered here week after week and every week they lie on delivery time .... They say 60 minutes and the the clock tick, it keeps ticking and it ticks more After 90 minutes or 2 hours it will turn up We have complained and been told it would come on time but if someone orders in the restaurant or collects then delivery orders get pushed back ..... Wake up stop lying to your customers !! We won't buy from here again I suggest everyone uses Taste of China in Longfield ... The food is better and they deliver on time. Or Sun Rise in NAG... Foods not as varied but boy they deliver

Rang and ordered a take away: the man took our order, confirmed our address and how much the it came to, he told us it would be no longer than 1 hour and 15 mins as it was a busy Saturday night - we said that was fine, yet an hour and half passed and no sign so called to be told there was no order on their system. After we told them not to bother they suddenly found our order and said it was waiting for collection but had sat there for 45 minutes!! Told them we didn't want a cold take away so ordered elsewhere.

Great little restaurant, great food best in the area. Staff are friendly and efficient a must for dinner but not on Mondays as it is closed.

We have used the restaurant and take away service and have been extremely happy with both. The food is just to die for. The staff are really friendly and make you feel welcome, it is hidden behind the pub so can be missed easily. I wouldn't say it's the cheapest Chinese restaurant I have been to but food is always so good hot and fresh I think it's worth the price.

like other reviewers we have found that the restaurant is a bit lacking in atmosphere. But for a takeaway - delivered or collected - it can't be beaten. At the weekend phone ahead because it is busy.

We went recently for a large family dinner. After 3 hours, and only two courses..we left quite disappointed. The food was sub standard chinese and the service was exceptionally slow. The gentleman waiter tried really hard to pick things up when he wasn't out delivering take away but sadly it just wasn't enough to help the evening run smoothly. The take away orders seemed to be flooding in if the constant ringing of the telephone is something to go by. Trouble is, with only two staff (and one of those regularly going out to deliver) their attention was certainly not on the restaurant, and we were neglected. After an hour, the constant phone ringing also grated on me too, especially when there was regularly no-one there to answer it.My advice to this restaurant ( as with others that cater for takeaway) is not to neglect the customers who have taken the time to come into the restaurant. Quite simply, if you can't handle both functions...choose one or the other!We certainly wouldn't go there again which is a shame as it would be really nice to see something suceed in this location.

The first visit will definitely be the last. We ordered our starters and main course in one go and were initially pleasantly surprised at the prompt arrival of our first course. However our main couse of three basic dishes took almost an hour to arrive. Additionally the order was wrong and without apology the waiter told us "I will check what you have ordered" before returning to inform us our correct menu choices will be with us shortly. Ha! Furthermore when it came to paying the bill we were informed the payments for drinks and food had to be done in 2 separate transactions, and although slightly odd you wouldn't expect this to be too inconvenient. That is until the card machine for the drinks payment stopped working and the manager decided that he would ring his machine provider whilst we we're left waiting with a frustrated toddler. Overall this restaurant is shabby with poor service and extremely slow. The food is take away standard and nothing to write home about!

When we moved to Hartley I didn't think we could beat our last localChinese takeaway (Four Seasons East Dartford) for food quality and service but I have to say the Golden Dragon actually tops it!The food is always of a high quality and if you want anything changing or larger portions the owners are always happy to oblige. Delivery is usually fast even at buys times. Even New Year's Eve when we last had ours.I can't wait to have my next one!

If you live within 3 miles of Farningham or Eynsford, then this is the Chinese for you!Excellent food and fast delivery!!!Forget the Magic Wok - go for Gold!

For many years we have searched for great food and trust me we have found it you can not go wrong also a great take away service I think we all use you now in Southfleet .

The food itself is excellent and service (by the English husband of the Thai lady who cooks) is good. The restaurant is part of the Black Lion Pub but with a completely separate entrance, although a shared car park. It can be a bit lacking in atmosphere but who cares when the food is so good. Good Take Away service.

If you live local you should pay this restaurant a visit. It is set back from the road behind a pub so it can be missed if your not looking for it! The food is amazing and certainly one of the best Chinese restaurants I have visited. They also do takeaway which is a bonus. The only downside I would say is that when they are busy you can be waiting a while for your food although it is worth the wait.

A restaurant that's had many themes over the years, currently Chinese with Some Japanese and Thai entries on the menu. Will deliver locally and further afield for a small charge. Food is very good and well presented, benefits from the next door pub attachment. Avoid sitting near the external door which can be drafty and annoying with coming and going.

This restaurant is hidden behind a pub, but when inside you are given a very warm welcome by the owners. The food is fresh and delicious and is served promptly. Many people may not have heard of this restaurant, but I'd highly recommend it. They also do take away.Give it a go, you won't be disappointed!
