Golden dragon in Scarborough

Tried several different chinese takeaways since we moved to Scarborough a few months ago and stumbled upon this place by accident after visiting silks next door one day. The food from here was by far the nicest of all the takeaways we've tried. Wish they were on just eat though, it's easier to order and pay via an app.

This review is for takeaway only. So far have never been to the restaurant. Used to order from here some years ago and it was very good. Then it changed hands and was awful so i stopped using it. However it has gone 'full circle'. Gave it a try at random one evening well over a year ago and it ticked all the boxes. It seems that it has changed hands again somewhere over the last few years and everything is now great again. The lady answers the phone swiftly, takes the order and sends out the delivery person very promtly. The food always arrives nice and fresh and hot and is of good quality. It is good value for money and the delivery drivers are always polite, courteous and friendly. Am glad that l gave them another chance especially as it was under new management again. Well done to them all.

If you like cold rice and spring rolls, greasy chicken balls and stodgy noodles then this is your sort of take away! One of the worst "meals" I've ever had.

Booked here before leaving Scarborough on a wet thundery night and was made most welcome. The staff were very attentive and when l asked for just plain noodles for my son who is Autistic they were more than happy to oblige.The restaurant was spotless and we were nicely spaced out from other tables due to Covid19.The food was absolutely delicious and you definitely got enough. Came away feeling very full and content.i would certainly visit again when next in Scarborough.

we went at 10.30pm and didnt have to wait long for our food - got back to the site and wished we hadnt bothered collecting it. chow mein was bland and watery chicken balls like leather and chips were soaking with oil - unedible.

good food perfect andyou can even just phonet then just pop round and its all ready for your collection

We ordered for delivery as we were staying in the area in a holiday let. The order went through perfect, nice and simple and no fuss to say it was a holiday booking address. All the food was nice and hot, really tasty and fresh with free prawn crackers. I would certainly recommend to anyone staying in the area. Prices were £5.50 average for a main course, and worth it as portions seemed good.

Ordered a takeaway for delivery....my call was answered promptly and I was able to give my order without interruption, which was then repeated back to me at the end....promised a 25 minute delivery. The food arrived promptly by a courteous driver. It arrived beautifully hot and was delicious...the salt and pepper chips were crunchy on the outside, and extremely tasty. Extremely generous portions and good value for money. Recommended.

Overpriced and not nice food that took ages to come - must have changed hands as used to be good. shame.

Had a take away whilst on holiday with the family - lovely hot food and lots of it! Would eat from there again!

Only had takeaway but what lovely food, each dish I tried was fabulous in looks, taste and textures. Delivery was fast and the food was piping hot.

fantastic takeaway speedy delivery best in scarborough, you get plenty of food and its always piping hot and all the staff are very pleasant, you wont be disappointed

after ordering and calling these ten times withing multiple phone calls they couldn't find my address I ordered my food at 10 and they showed up at 12 oclock after telling me it would be a maximum of a 45 minute wait this place is a shambles I literally could of hatch a chicken and raised it by the time they turned up I will never order from here again unless I want my funeral to come before the food after being treat with utter dis respect from the service and delivery driver over the phone they had the nerve to demand payment after showing up an hour late needless to say they got told where to go if your looking for good quality food and a night in then look elsewhere I rang kim shin and they were here withing 20 minutes I hope the golden dragon read this because they should know that there business is a JOKE!!!!!!!!!

Don't go too often but when I do I get very good value and large portion,excellent service and very hot food,they will deliver but prefer to collect no waiting then.

We have never tasted such poor food.The presentation of the food was awful as well.The food was off.whats more the lady on the end of the telephone disbelieved mr when i honed back to offer my disappointment

Had chowmein ,not my favourite ,but decided to try it,the service was very good,but very few prawns ,didnt particularly enjoy it,but wouldnt say the meal was bad maybe just the wrong choice

Our regular chinese since moving into the area. excellent food and good prices and always a swift delivery.

Amazing Chinese take away... Tried other take aways but nothing compares!!! Plus you always get free prawn crackers... Bonus!!!

always get free prawn cracker and get a loads of chips. best in town worth going to newby for as you always get freebies

Ordered three takeaways with fried rice. Meals were tasteless sweet and sour sauce was bland, fried rice also tasteless definitely not one to repeat
