Prices stayed the same but portion sizes have reduced. Now not value for money even though the food is tasty

Expensive Portion of chips over £3.00 and its not a big portion. To feed a family would cost a fortune. No one else was in the shop. And a few walked in saw the price an walked back out.

Got special fried rice horrible asked did hey do noddle boxes yes but not in a box ordered chicken n veg there was not one piece of veg an the so called chicken was bland the was no flavour what so ever. Got a portion of chips terrible . Waste of money

The only reason you don't accept cards in this day and age is because you are tax evading. I am informing HMRC now.

Great authentic Chinese food Very tasty and good value for money

The fried rice was ok but with all the wet liquid made it too sloppy and no taste only thing you could taste was the garlic which was over powering. The spring rolls was nice only thing that was.

This is the second time I get the fried rice with shrimps and it was awful, the shrimps where uncooked no season at all and I just think if u have more options to eat u should avoid this take away.

Absolutely discussed. Spent £29:30 and still got charged delivery. The combo was all over the place. Also never got me rice to go with the meal a sausage witch I only got for the dog 😫 The salt&pepper chips were horrendous it was just basically onions and chips not 1 pepper at all. Bloody shocking The meat was so chewy aswell Never will I order from here again 😡 Definitely all been walked up

Wasn't the best chippy nor the nicest chippy I've ever been too but it's OK. Got fried rice, salt an pepper chicken wings & salt an pepper chips. Chicken wings had barely any chicken just batter. 3 stars for me. 😶

Foods great, never had a bad meal here ever, quite quick service and unlike most chippys you can actually see them cooking!! Char sui foo yung is Superb!

Used to like this chippy tonight ordered 19.00 munchie box waste of money it was tasteless mostly chips not much donner meat at all it went in the bin

We ordered burgers and the bread was moldy.

Ordered fish and chips twice at 5.30pm on a Friday night, not a great sign if they have to cook it, decent chip shops sell loads so it’s ready especially on a Friday night. but even so, when I got it, the chips were hard and had green ends and the fish tasted of salt and pepper, plus it was pancake flat and watery so I can only assume they use chip frozen stuff - Avoid if you have taste buds

Ordered 2 Chinese meals, salt and pepper chicken and shredded crispy chilli beef! Soggy, tasteless, didn’t taste like chicken or beef, was not nice to eat at all! Very disappointed!

Poor presentation look slipped in box curry sauce like water and far too salty

I ordered salt and pepper chicken it came with onion the lettuce no pepper at all its cooked in salt and pepper oil they said chicken like rubber cheap products the chips was pure grease like they been cooked in dirty oil never again 🤮 phoned them up women was lovely said do you want money back or replace it I said no thanks will not be going back

Love the chop suey from here. The chips could be a lot better so order rice or fried rice.

We ordered some food from here to be delivered to our hotel opposite the airport and was very impressed. The food was hot and very tasty and without sounding too chavy the chips were proper cooked and not like the soggy offerings we get in the midlands. The only negative was my chicken and sweetcorn soup which was quite bland and could have done with a bit more flavour. Good value for money and ideal if you just fancy a takeaway delivered to your hotel rather than eating in the restaurant.

This has got to be the best chippy in the area. Its been the same owners for over 20 years love the food. Never had to complain about anything

Absolutely disgusted. Waited nearly 2 hours for food for them to say they lost the order and they could do it but it will be another hour!!!

Always spot on. Food is amazing. Great staff and owners. Can see in to kitchen so you know they're not trying to hide anything. (Don't believe the blatant lies in some posts haha)

There was bugs in everyones food chips were not cooked, evryone is vomiting , i would highly recomend avoiding this place

Ordered a salt and pepper munchie box from here. Save your money. It was a box of chips with 2 cheap and nasty samosas and 2 spring rolls like what you get in Iceland. The donner meat it says you get on the menu is one slice of donna meat! Yes one slice! Absolute rip off! £17.50 for a box of chips!

I always visit golden city there chips are not great but i always get rice now there chinese dishes are by far the best ive ever tasted also try there bbq sauce it wont be beaten highly recommend.

Was staying at Hampton by Hilton at Liverpool, didn’t want Hotel food. Used app to order and pay. Food arrived within 20 mins. Portion sizes were massive. However the food was greasy.

This used to be the top takeaway but now it's totally gross I had bits of scouring pad in my fried rice,when I phoned and complained they apologised and said to pick a free meal Sorry it's not the first time but certainly the last never again!!!

First time I have used this chinese when down in Speke and can say its the best one round here by far. used to travel to hairston for new oriental chef but this one blows it out the water. Salt and pepper munchie box was spot on as was the rest of the food we got. 100% using this Chippy when I'm next down!

Order was spot on. Delivery spot on. Chicken in sweet and sour dish was old/dry stringy chewy. Not great. Some of the other dishes struck me as rather bland. Portions were large, and very good quality containers were well wrapped with no leaks. The soup was possibly the best I've ever had.

Food portions were huge and they called to inform me when they were 5min away. Cannot fault them and would certainly use them again.

My wife and I fancied a take out when staying at the nearby Crowne Plaza. I picked up 2 fish, chips, peas, curry sauce a couple of cold drinks for £11. The fish was excellent, huge portions and pleasant and friendly staff. Seemed quite busy, located in a slightly insalubrious area right next to airport but I would recommend and would go again. Goodvalue.

salt and pepper box was disgusting only had salt pepper chips & spring rolls on so contact restaurant which they brought a new one and took the other one. the new one was to salt and peppery so i couldnt enjoy

Salt and pepper was very, very strong. For 13. 50 the S&P munchie box was mainly S&P Chips. The Fried sui mai were great as we're the ribs but the chicken was over powered by the strong S&P. The Peaking Chicken was perfect for myself, faultless, the chips with the Peaking Chicken however had no salt or vinegar which was asked for within the notes.

Didn't get my rice to go with my meal but by time you ring to complain your foods freezing

Always 5 star food and always 5 star service but do us a favour, cut the onions up.a bit more in the dishes.

This was by far my favourite chippy and I regularly ordered fish chips mushy peas with either curry or BBQ sauce. I don't order as often now, if at all, as for me it has gone very expensive and they let themselves down with the fish.

Salt and pepper platter delicious BUT Had to bin my kids chip bark and chips and sausage ... chips were inedible (warm ups), prawn crackers tasted a week old and sausage wasn't nice either. Not usually the case as I always rate full stars but disappointed as I only really ever use this place

Arrived before expected - my fish neither tastes or smells like fish at all.. disappointing

Food quality was rather lacking in taste and spices etc. Noodles were bland and needed much more greens in the main Satay Dish. The Prawn Toast was extremely soggy and I was worried if it was cooked. Delivery Time was poor as driver went to the wrong hotel and I was waiting outside for some time.

The food was amazing! I was in Liverpool for work so didn't know where to eat, I will definitely be ordering from here again and the delivery was so fast!

Salt and pepper ribs are gawjus would reccomend them, chips not so good there always hard and very small portions, staff and service good, they deliver quite quickly, tight with sauces eg: gravey and curry, no warm oven everything warmed up in a microwave not good at all, expensive considering the small portion sizes

Sorry but will never order from here again. £15 minimum order is bad enough but £2.00 delivery too and £0.50 for paying with a card. Golden city can go jump.

Cannot fault this restaurant the order was Hot and sour soup, Special Vermicelli, crispy wontons and I also had a special requirement which was completed without fault. Delivery was on a Sunday evening an arrived super quick with the food piping hot. Highly Recommend!!!

The order arrived 25 mins earlier than stated which was great as we were pushed for time. However I'm disappointed with Golden City. The order arrived without the spring rolls, the Chicken Chow Mein portion have been significantly reduced and the sausages in the sausage dinner were cheap and nasty, yuck all 6 sausages thrown in the bin. So it looks like Golden City are now serving smaller portions and are now buying cheap and nasty food. I will order again hopefully its a one off but if it continues, I will be forced to change.

Fast delivery arrived early, food was piping hot and fresh, the meals were delicious and I'm a fussy eater. Would definitely recommend.
