Really good chip shop. Can get busy at peak times.

All I need to say is the spring roll or as I like to call them as im proper oLd sKooL the chop suey rolls is the best I've tasted since back in early 1990s and I tell ya these are proper and they administer the Soy Sauce in the correct manner NOT SPLASED ON TOP this is not BRUT or OLD SPICE, They inject the soy into the end.

Clean, fast and cash only. Well established premises and staff who clearly know what they’re doing and want to get you served in good time. I ordered Chicken & Mushroom and Egg Fried Rice. The food was excellent! Juicy, tender chicken and chunky, al dented mushrooms coated in a well seasoned sauce. The rice was fluffy and loose with a little bite and a good amount of egg throughout. Great portion sizes for the price, I highly recommend this place.

The food is delicious and worth the trip over our local chippy. Whether it's just a bag of chips or some hot and sour soup, it's always good quality.

Went for food tonight, don’t have takeaway very often, but I needed to leave a review because the food was absolutely beautiful, very hot and lots of it …. Price was reasonable too, highly recommended

We had special fried rice, curry, chips, sausage and prawn crackers. It was the best Chinese I have had in a long time. Brought me back to my local Chinese many years ago. Would recommend to anyone.

I got my tea (Char Siu Chow Mein) there yesterday. It was very tasty. But the staff member who brought out my dish when ready could do with learning a few basic manners. Like please & thank you. Repeatedly shouting £9.75 at me wasn't going to result in me handing over any money until it was followed by 'please.' Manners cost nothing.

Iv had potato scallops from here with peas thay are the best iv had lovely people thank u HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I went with my friends and the chips with viniger were AMAZING. The hygene was ok. And the full meal costs a bit too much £17- £24 but its worth it because the food is delightful. It just around the block. If you want to go at night DO NOT go through Sankey Vally because it is absolutely soking wet up to your ankles so be careful. Overall this Chip shop was great definitely going there again. 5 STAR ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Nice takeaway eatery in the locality. A wode range to items available. I will Suggest try Chinese/Asian food. Spicy Singapore Chow mein specially good with lots of prawns and chicken pieces. 1 quantity is sufficient for 2 person. Pls note it's only takeaway or delivery, not sit-in restaurant.

Didn't enjoy this at all chips tasted and looked like they were a month ago. Definitely not up to there usual standard and the Special satay was just full of green peppers and little else very very disappointed and will now be looking for a new Chinese I'm afraid 😨

Nice food, I ordered Singapore chow mein. Very tasty and well cooked. Turnaround time is quick. Only minus is cash only. So have to nip out to get some cash.

I can not rate this highly enough. Best chip shop in warrington. I'm a taxi driver and I've been to all of them. None of them compare. Consistently good food every time and fresh no matter what the time of day or night. Highly recommended!

This use to be the best Chinese in Warrington. It’s absolutely tasteless do not bother going here. Shame it’s been took over by new owners. Never again

Got a takeaway for 4 for lunch at work and all I can say is we all agreed it was tasteless and will defo not use again, shame as when sue had it years ago the food was lovely.

I love the food It is always fresh and tasty I don't really go to any other Chinese takeout especially shredded chilli beef mmm.

Great food fast service value of the money

We order regularly and large orders for a large family and never once has the order been correct!!! Always something missing or wrong. Never any ownership or customer service. We have been spending more in petrol going back & to, to go back & pick up missing or incorrect food. Make sure you double check before leaving the shop if you order & even then they’ll swear blind you are in the wrong! It has happened one too many times now, we won’t be going back.

Absolutely shocking for getting the order correct!!! We order regularly and large orders and never once has it been right. No ownership on missing food, food not ready when you go back for it, so another wait, no apology, zero customer service. If you order make sure you check everything. Cost’s more in petrol going back for missing or incorrect items. Will be going elsewhere from now on.

Curry tasted like a whole bottle of salt was poured into it, they cremated the chips, overall food was inedible and when I rang to complain I was met with hostility and they hung up on me, offered me 10% off next meal, like I’ll be going again! Not worth time or price, close this place down.

Could of been a 4 or 5 stars. The food was good but the order was wrong. It has happened a few times now.

Far too expensive - and has been for a while now. Go to the dragon inn round the corner (by the butchers), you get more food for your money, it’s tastier, cooked to order and again the prices are more fairer. I really don’t know why people queue out the door for this place, it’s a total rip off… I can only assume that people don’t know about the chippy round the corner !!

Went there a couple of days ago, as we know takeaways are hit and miss this one lately is always miss. We spent over £17 for 2 meals the meals were barely warm, the green peppers, onions and other vegetables were not cooked, the meat was chewy, needless to say they went into the bin. This was our number one take away but not any more.

Favourite chippy! Always delicious! We have had a range of items and been numerous times. Staff are lovely!

Dreadful, please give it a miss. We were given chicken, mushroom and spring onion instead of fillet steak in chilli and garlic, we phoned to complain as this is the second time we’ve been given the wrong order, I had the phone put down on me. What we did have was edible at best, can anyone recommended a Chinese takeaway in the Great Sankey area.

You have to pay by cash only which is why I very rarely go here. I had a chicken burger and beef burger which by the way were absolutely delicious. So cheap and amazing I was shocked.

Fancied a cheeky salt and pepper chicken wing ...absolutely yummy

Went here when I was fishing to get a tasty warm meal 😣 flavourless but very warm! Salt and pepper wings are supposed to taste spicy not just of spring onion

Had a piece of chicken with chips steak pie and mushy peas The chips were not fresh just reheated and the chicken you could have soled a shoe with it it had been reheated so much, I called to complain, not a hint of a refund just a thank you for the feedback. When I go back I will ask for ingredients to be cooked fresh. It’s just not on to give customers second rate food.

Food usually great but chopsuey roll was not good-more onion than anything not a bean sprout in sight!

The food here is delicious and has been my favourite takeaway for a long time. However during the pandemic they have allowed quite a few customers to wait for food inside the shop. I really didn't feel safe. Therefore I have refrained from visiting as often.

The best Chinese in warrington, I've only lived here for four years and tried a few, but this is the best by far.

Good chippy good variety on the menu depends how busy they are but normally served quite quickly in here. Prices reasonable parking is only available on nearby streets again subject to how busy they are when you go.

Few weeks ago I order roast chicken & chips but chicken was very dry

Had a lovely fish, chips and curry. Chips tasted fresh with no bad after taste (if old oil used) and the batter was light.

Szechuan chicken with extra water chestnuts and boiled rice.....Super every time........

What a fantastic Chinese our family of four had tonight. The meat was so succulent, we were all commenting on how nice it was. The sauces were perfect. We loved it. Chips were great too.

1 star is generous for the sweet and sour Hong Kong style. The sauce tastes like its straight out of a jar or made from powder.

The worse food I have ever eaten the prawn curry and Singapore noodle were horrible. Had a bad stomach The service was so bad they got my order messed up with someone else

Nicely cooked fresh fish and chips but also a great menu of Chinese dishes

We usually have the same dishes from the Golden City, Curries, Salt and Pepper chicken and sometimes a Cashew Nut dish but thought we would try something different. So glad we did as the Sweet and Sour was lovely.

Great food also prompt delivery and so friendly.

This place used to do lovely Chinese food! However the past few time we've ordered from there we've been really disappointed. Tonight was absolutely tasteless chicken and sweetcorn soup (I resorted to adding some chicken stock to it myself to improve the flavour!) and tasteless, greasy prawn toast! Won't be ordering there again.

This is a fantastic Chinese Takeaway as well as Chip Shop in Warrington. Great Choice, Good Service (even when they are really busy). Fantastic portion sizes. They are also very accommodating. We visit on a regular basis and there are always left overs (a chance for seconds later in the week). There was one occasion when we didn't quite bring enough cash to cover the pawn crackers and after asking politely they gave them us for free. Would highly recommend to anybody. There is only two issues: Unfortunately they do not deliver and they only take cash.

Upon the recommendation of a friend, I ordered various chinese meals for a house party and was very impressed with the high standards and consistency of the food. It was delicious. Not quite restaurant standard but well above the usual chip shop standards. The shop appeared to be very clean and the staff were working extremely hard to meet demand. I will definitely be back.

Coming from the Orient, I can say it's one of the best Chinese takeaways in the area. Major downfall, they don't accept debit cards hence 4 stars.

Never had a bad meal from golden city. Usually have shredded beef but portion is a tad small for the price. Sweet and sour chicken is lovely. Curry is proper chip shop curry fried rice very nice too chips are always fresh. However the prices are a bit steep cost nearly £40 for 3 meals spring rolls and extra curry and pop. But yet to have a bad meal and we are regulars

For a take away it's sound. Phone order a must as it's ALWAYS busy.

I have been going this chip shop for many years now. The Chips are good and the staff are friendly.

Seems to be the best of both worlds, a good chinese takeaway and a proper chip shop. Both types of food are very nice form here with big portions and good service. Always fairly busy but served quickly.

Had a special curry with fried rice and scallops, absolutely delicious enough for 2 or 3 people the best curry in warrington just a shame you don’t do delivery I’d be ringing you every weekend!

Terrible service. Telephoned an order for collection, arrived on time, asked for food twice and was told it wasn’t ready. Third time it turns out it was the meal that had been sat on the side for 25 minutes. Wouldn’t bother.

I love my Chinese food and this is the best you can get. I say it's the best in Warrington but to be fair, I've never had better anywhere.Interestingly, the popular Maplewood restaurant just a few miles away is not a patch on the food served here.I know people who travel from miles away to enjoy this place and I don't blame them.Consistently top quality food, good size portions and somewhere that doesn't scrimp on the quality ingredients such as prawns and chicken as so many others do.

Fast service, collect only. Large good value, good quality portions.
